How to upload audio content to SoundCloud directly from your iPhone

• You can upload content to SoundCloud directly from your iPhone by using the desktop version of the site in your preferred browser. 
• You currently can't upload content to SoundCloud using the iPhone app.

SoundCloud is one of the most popular audio-uploading and streaming platforms available today. 

So if you're a current or aspiring rapper, producer, or podcaster, you've probably heard of the popular platform.

What you may not realize, however, is that you can upload your rhymes, beats, and audio stories to SoundCloud directly from your iPhone . 

The process isn't as easy as a few taps here and there in an app, but the steps are easy to get the hang of.

Here's how to upload content to SoundCloud using your iPhone :

1. Open Safari, or your preferred browser, on your iPhone .

2. Tap the "AA" symbol in the left-hand corner of the search bar, and tap "Request Desktop Website."

3. Go to the SoundCloud website and tap "Upload your first track." Sign in to your account when prompted.

4. Tap "or choose files to upload."

5. Tap "Browse."

6. Find and select your file, and fill out as much or as little information about the recording as you'd like.

7. Click "Save" to upload the file.

safari cannot play sound cloud

I'm using the latest version of Safari with Mavericks and it used to be able to play songs on Soundcloud but now it doesn't. But if I start up Firefox and go to Soundcloud everything works fine. Has anybody else had this problem?

Mac mini (Late 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9), 8 gig

From the Safari menu bar, select

Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions

Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

Slightly long explanation

It's a problem of Safari Power Saver. SoundCloud uses Flash to play audio, but puts it somewhere it in the page making Safari think it's not an important Flash instance (it's not front and center) so it must be blocked to save power. Unfortunately SoundCloud also visually hides Flash, making it impossible to click on it, therefore making it impossible for Safari to put it in the Power Saver whitelist . Also unfortunately, there is no way to add more websites to that list from Safari.

Fortunately though, it was easy enough to create a tool that fixes that. So here is Safari Power Saver Whitelister . It adds any website you want to the Safari Power Saver whitelist. Just click Run in the AppleScript Editor.

Safari audio is suddenly tinny & distorted

All audio coming from Safari and Safari only is very tinny, echoey and distorted. I've look this up and all i can find are people saying they have this issue when they speed up the playback on youtube. My playback speed is set to normal. It doesn't just happen on youtube either, its any audio played through Safari, other browsers, computer audio, iTunes are all fine. Its just Safari. It started out of no where last night. Resetting my PRAM did nothing, resetting the computer, updating all did nothing to help the issue. Does anyone know whats causing this or how to fix it? Macbook pro 2011 High Sierra Safari Version 12.1.2 (13607.3.10)

In case my original post is confusing no im not having an issue with videos playing back fast. All audio coming from Safari only is echoey and distorted. Audio from soundcloud, youtube, facebook etc

Something you can try: go to the sound settings>input and make sure the input is set to 'internal microphone' built in. I've had exactly that issue with some headphones which have a mic and change that setting giving a sound like it's playing in tin cup or something so it could be that.  

Do you have any browser extensions installed in Safari? If so, disable all of them, even the ones you think can't possibly affect audio. Do you have another user account you can login to? Not just a browser profile, but an actual Mac user account, in System Preferences > Users and Groups. If not, make one. Then login to it, and launch Safari. Does it have the problem? If so, then it's probably being caused by a system component of some kind, or a browser extension you've made available system-wide. If Safari in the new user account works fine, then the problem is definitely with something specific to your original user account, and not something system-wide.
