Free Singapore Tour – City Sights Tour

This free 2.5-hour City Sights Tour showcases modern Singapore and how our magnificent cityscape has been built in a sustainable way to ensure a vibrant and liveable city. 

Stopovers at Merlion Park will give you some time to take photos against the iconic Marina Bay and the city skyline. The second stop at Gardens by the Bay will wow you with an amazing view of the Supertrees as you walk towards the world-famous Marina Bay Sands.

Registration Details

Service Counters Please stay in the transit area and do not clear immigration

• Terminal 2:  Level 2, Transit Area, (near Gate F50)
• Terminal 3:  Level 2, Transit Area, (near Gate A1 - A8)
• Other Terminals: Please take the skytrain within the Transit area and proceed to Terminal 3 for registration.

Required Documents Passport, boarding passes, entry visa (if applicable) and tour booking confirmation

Kindly note that  90 minutes  is set aside between Reporting Time and Tour Timing for the clearance of Arrival Immigration.

Enter the heart of City Hall, where Raffles Hotel and St Andrew’s Cathedral provide a brief glimpse of our colonial past. Not far away, you will see where our modern-day government institutions reside, including the Parliament House and Supreme Court. 

Witness the growth and progress of Singapore as you contrast old national monuments such as the National Gallery and the Padang, against modern skyscrapers in the Central Business District. Hear stories of some of Singapore's most significant moments in history.

The Jubilee Bridge connects two famed landmarks - the Esplanade Theatres and the Merlion, giving you an unhindered view of Marina Bay.

An icon of Singapore, the Merlion was unveiled in 1972 to welcome all visitors to our sunny island. This is a great spot to take photos against the iconic Marina Bay and the city skyline. 

This horticultural oasis nestled in the heart of the city features more than 500,000 plants across more than 2,200 species. Marvel at the Avatar-like Supertrees that come to life in a display of lights and sounds at night.

Here you'll find a sprawling convention centre, the ArtsScience Museum, a world-class theatre, over 200 luxury retail outlets and three hotel towers topped with a skypark and infinity pool! Explore the architectural marvel that is Marina Bay Sands.

Choose between four different tour routes during your transit if your transit is more than 5.5 hours and within 24 hours. Each tour is 2.5 hours long, and jointly organised by Singapore Airlines, Singapore Tourism Board and Changi Airport Group. Tours are conducted in English only. 

Changi Precinct Tour

Once covered by forests, swamps, rubber plantation and sand quarries, Tampines today is one of four regional centres in Singapore. This special town won the United Nations World Habitat Award, for being an exemplar of high-quality, high density and affordable housing.

Who is eligible for the tour?

The Free Singapore Tour is open to all travellers transiting in Changi Airport. Valid for passengers with layover of at least 5.5 hours, and less than 24 hours, and with flight schedules that fit the tour timing requirements.

How To Register ?

• Singapore Airlines and Scoot passengers can pre-book the tour via online booking page . You may scroll down to view and book all the tour types.
• Please note that while making the booking, you will have to input the name of all passengers going on the tour so that we can reserve the corresponding number of spaces.
• When you arrive at Changi Airport, please remain in the transit area and do not clear immigration as the registration booths are located at the transit area.
• Terminal 2 transit, Near Skytain to Terminal 3, Gate F50
• Terminal 3 transit, Near Transfer Lounge A, Gate A1-A8

Important Things To Note:

• Registration will close 1 hour before the tour start time and participants will be guided as a group to clear immigration before the tour starts.
• Availability of seats is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
• Transit passengers are allowed to enter and exit Singapore only once during their layover period, as per guidelines stipulated by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore. Therefore, passengers are not able to join more than one tour.
• Tour itinerary is subject to changes, depending on weather and traffic conditions.  
• Should you have cabin baggage, you are encouraged to leave them as Left Baggage counter located here prior to registration at the Free Singapore Tour booth.
• There are food sampling segments on some of the tour itineraries. If you have any food allergies, please take precautions and sign up at your own discretion. Please also inform the tour guide before the tour starts.

i Light Singapore’s celebration of sustainability brings luminous works of art to Marina Bay.

The bright lights of the Lion City get even brighter, with the gorgeous art on display at i Light Singapore illuminating Singapore’s nightscape.

Created by the multidisciplinary design studio from Netherlands, TOER, Firefly Fields uses intermittent blinking displays to emulate real fireflies flying off at dusk, evoking wonder and curiosity for the Earth’s natural wonders.

Done by local art collective Tell Your Children, these inflatable “ugly” food, presented by the festival’s sponsor DBS, prompts viewers to question what makes food beautiful amidst a worsening food wastage issue.

Asia’s leading sustainable light art festival is back in Marina Bay after a 2-year hiatus to illuminate the Lion City’s nightscape with radiant works of art from all across the globe.

First held in 2010,  i Light Singapore is an annual celebration that brings people from all walks of life together by shining a light on art and sustainability.

The service was a little slow and we had some misunderstandings. A lot of people had “new” on their name tags so that could explain some of the issues. 06/12/2024 city tour & river cruise (bd).

Today we begin our city tour at Kampong Glam, an area where modernity meets tradition. This district has a history that dates back to Singapore’s colonial past and is now home to the Malay, Arab and Bugis communities. Later we visit the Civic District, passing by the Padang, Singapore Cricket Club, historic Parliament House and the National Gallery. Next stop is Merlion Park where we enjoy impressive views of Marina Bay. We continue on to Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of Singapore’s oldest Buddhist-Taoist temples, and through Chinatown on our way to Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Singapore Botanic Gardens, which boasts a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants. In the evening we transfer to Clarke Quay to board a traditional ‘bumboat’ cruising along the river. This unforgettable ride encapsulates Singapore heritage and modernity in one activity, spanning the iconic districts of Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and Marina Bay. Bask in the rich history of the Raffles Landing site, marvel at the soaring futuristic architecture of Marina Bay Sands, and discover the story of the river that gave life to the city. After we disembark we drive through Orchard Road to view the stunning display of Christmas lights.

07/12/2024 Tiong Bahru & Raffles High Tea (B, High Tea)

This morning our tour starts at the Pinnacle@Duxton, the world’s tallest public housing project. The seven towers of the complex are all connected with two skybridges that feature the two longest skygardens in the world. We visit the skybridge on the 50th floor to enjoy stunning views of the Singapore landscape. Next we visit Tiong Bahru, one of Singapore’s oldest public housing estates built in the 1920s that has creatively evolved into a unique neighbourhood that balances heritage and swanky hipster lifestyle. The Tiong Bahru Market, boasts some of the best hawker stalls for local culinary delights. The 90-year-old Qi Tian Gong Temple, Singapore’s oldest temple honours the Monkey God, who bestows blessing and protection. We enjoy some food sampling at Tiong Bahru Market before continuing on to one of the highlights of our tour, the iconic Raffles Hotel, where we indulge in their famous High Tea. Set in the restored Grand Lobby of the hotel, we sit among the grandeur of its floor-to-ceiling pillars bathed in daylight streaming through the skylight. This is a quintessential Singapore experience! Later we return to our hotel and the evening is free.

08/12/2024 Cooking Class & Zoo Night Safari  (BLD)

There is no better way to get acquainted with Singapore’s many cultures than through the island’s food, and this morning we immerse ourselves in a cultural cooking class. During the class we learn about Singapore’s food culture and discover the secret to Singapore’s hawker centres, before cooking up a storm with a hands on step by step cooking lesson. We then enjoy the fruits of our labour with a mouth-watering Singaporean lunch sampling each of the dishes we have prepared. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the facilities at the hotel, or wander around the city on your own. In the evening we transfer to Singapore Zoo to uncover the wonders of the nocturnal animal kingdom at the world’s first night wildlife park. Here we enjoy a multi-sensory journey across six geographical regions under the moonlight. Be enthralled by a pride of lions basking under the illumination of a full moon, get up close to the free-ranging Malayan tapirs, and meet Chawang, the Asian bull elephant, as you ride on board the renowned Night Safari Tram. We then enjoy dinner at Ulu Ulu Safari restaurant located in the park, before returning to the hotel.

09/12/2024 Christmas Wonderland & Gardens by the Bay (B)

Today is a free day for some souvenir and Christmas shopping before heading out on our final excursion. We finish off our Singapore Christmas visit with the stunning light displays at the Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay. This annual event is a must-see highlight of Singapore’s end-of-year celebrations. Taking place on a massive fairground, Christmas Wonderland is home to unforgettable sights and Yule-themed extravaganzas featuring illuminations, light sculptures, rides, carnival games, amusement rides, live performances, festive markets, Santa’s Grotto and numerous other entertainment options. The human-made blizzard, massive Christmas tree, and Christmas carols add to the Christmas cheer. Garden by the Bay’s Christmas Wonderland is the essence of  Christmas celebrations in Singapore.
