Maruti Dzire Tour S gets factory-fitted speed governor

The shared images indicate that Maruti Suzuki is offering factory-fitted speed governors on the new Dzire Tour S. The cars come with a sticker pasted on the passenger side door panel stating that the top speed of the vehicle is limited to 80 km/h.

In 2017, the government made it mandatory for taxi operators to install speed governors in their cabs. The decision was taken in the wake of a Supreme Court notification from 2002 and 2009 regarding limiting the speed of commercial vehicles in the country. The move is aimed at reducing road accidents caused due over-speeding.

Taxi unions across the country criticized the government's decision initially and had even threatened to launch a protest. But now, it seems like cab operators have accepted the decision after an amendment was made to the Central Motor Vehicle Rules.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Technical Issues & Solutions

Hi , Starting this new thread for the face lifted version of the Dzire. Here is something which I noticed and can be a issue for which I need solution. I noticed one thing today. I reached work and was parking into the lane, I spotted one of my colleague(who is also a part of TAI) also parking into a lane parallel to me. I got off took off my bag from the back seat and went to greet him. Guess what, I forgot to lock the car while continuing to walk towards our office. Later during the day, I had a "myntra" exchange scheduled and since it was raining moderately then, I thought I would drive up outside the office campus to return/exchange the item. I pressed the door unlock button on the door knob and pulled the handle, the door didn't open, then realized that I didn't lock the vehicle in first place. Thank god it was in our office campus, if it were outside, there were many goodies inside my car which could have been easily stolen. A question, don't you think the vehicle must auto lock sensing the key fob is outside and the vehicle is not locked for a fair amount of time? this should be a standard and If i am missing something, can anyone of you point me to the settings page where it can be configured? didn't find anything in the manual.

Exactly, so it means that i forgot to lock and with the key in my pocket when i approached the vehicle in the evening and pressed the button the doors actually locked which confirms my deduction that the doors does not auto lock after sometime when key is outside.

Then there is some problem with mine or I have selected a security menu which disables this feature. Can you tell me the S[n] settings of your dash menu. I will post what security settings i have made later if i go back to my car.

Try checking your user manual. By the way within one year of ownership all new dzire has come how are you feeling our model is old model now. -suryaputhra

Re: i cant find the air filter in my 2013 swift dzire lxi petrol It should be present right on top of the engine cause it is a petrol engine. It should be the Suzuki 1.2 l 4 cylinder petrol engine. You should make a enquiry about the service records of the car. The previous owner might have used a aftermarket air filter or a different type of air filter system. You can also seek help of a good mechanic or contact MASS. Better you can provide few pictures of your engine bay.

Maruti Swift Dzire Tour S recalled over airbag issue

Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) has notified a recall of its fleet-only Dzire Tour S sedan over an issue of a possible defect in the Airbag Control Unit (ACU) of all such vehicles manufactured between August 6 and August 16, 2022.

The company has said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange that all 166 vehicles have been affected by the suspected ACU issue, which in rare cases, might result in malfunctioning during airbag deployment. MSIL has cautioned owners of the said cars to refrain vehicle usage until the safety-critical part is replaced. While customers can reach the MSIL website to check if their vehicle is part of the recall by entering their vehicle chassis number in the ‘Imp Customer Info’ section, the company will reach out to the affected customers of the CNG and petrol versions of the Tour S and will conduct free-of-cost replacement of the ACU as a rectification measure.

The Dzire Tour S is based on the second-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedan and is now available only for fleet buyers in a petrol as well as bi-fuel petrol-CNG option. The car comes powered by an 83hp, 1.2-litre, K12M, four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. As safety kit, the fleet-only Tour S comes equipped with a factory-fitted speed governor that limits the vehicle top speed to 80kph, as well as a driver-only frontal airbag.

New Maruti Swift Dzire Tour launched at Rs 5.24 lakh

Maruti has launched the new Swift Dzire Tour in India. The second-gen Dzire tour is based on the outgoing Swift Dzire compact sedan. Interestingly, Maruti has done away with the 'Swift Dzire Tour' name and is referring to the car as 'Dzire Tour', which means the next-gen Dzire may follow a similar naming style. As reported by us a few days ago, the new Dzire Tour comes with a choice of petrol and diesel engines mated to a five-speed gearbox. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 5.24 lakh, while the diesel variant costs Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Multiple paint shade options are also being offered, a first for the car. Maruti is also likely to launch a CNG variant in the near future.

The new Dzire Tour, being a stripped-down version of the standard car, gets a black plastic grille with no chrome bits, silver steel wheels and black plastic mirrors. On the inside, the Dzire Tour, for the first time, gets dual-tone interiors with subtle faux wood trim. It comes with manual AC and power windows but no music system. The Dzire Tour takes on the likes of the cab-versions of the Tata Zest and also the newly introduced Hyundai Xcent Prime . The all-new Maruti Swift Dzire will be unveiled next week.
