Greetings Delreybird!

I’m Tom Armstrong, Communications Manager at Tauck World Discovery. Since you haven’t received any subsequent replies to your posting following Litsa’s response of July 26, I hope you won’t mind if I share some thoughts with you. If my posting here as a representative of Tauck in any way oversteps the non-commercial nature of TripAdvisor, I hope everyone will understand. We’re great fans of this site and we have no intention of using it as a promotional tool. We’re merely hoping to provide you with some perspective in response to your question.

Your post basically raises two issues, which I’ll address separately… Can you put together a trip that’s identical to Tauck’s itinerary for $4,000 less than our price? And what are the added benefits of traveling with Tauck? (Both good questions.)

Regarding the price, I’m sure that it’s possible to put together a trip that costs less than what we charge, and on the surface, looks similar to our itinerary. However, I doubt it would truly be 100% the same as the Tauck experience, or that your savings would be as substantial as indicated.

As to the added benefits of traveling with Tauck, there are many. Besides the inclusive nature of our trips (touched on above), there are several intangibles. We’re typically able to take our guests “off the beaten path” to showcase authentic cultural experiences that are either unknown or unavailable to new visitors to an area. There is a very high convenience factor, as we handle all the administrative planning for your trip, including hotel and cruise reservations, transportation, local guides, sightseeing, entertainment, etc. Our tour guides average more than 10 years experience with our company, so your journey is also greatly enhanced by their knowledge and expertise.

Finally, there’s a very welcome assurance in traveling with a trusted name like Tauck – particularly if you’re traveling in a part of the world that you’re not familiar with. That assurance can prevent anxiety that might otherwise have a negative effect on your experience.

Sorry for the long post! Thanks again for your interest, and regardless of how you choose, we wish you a wonderful vacation!

Tom A. at Tauck

Hey Tom....personally, I agree, that with any all-inclusive package it is the details one does not even think about that add on what many times appears as a 'higher' price quote. When booking an all-inclusive it SHOULD be a 'no concerns/hassle-free' experience thus the question arises on reputability and whether it is worth the extra cost? (4K sounds way-off either way!)....which can only be answered by each individual traveller....a personal choice. As you stated, having the comfort of an anxiety-free experience is a major part of an all-inclusive....it entails much work and, of course, costs more than doing it independently!.....Enjoy

i really don't like this packages that promises no husle ,no problems ,everything is takking care by experts ,nothing to worry about.what is all about then?why don't see everithing in dvd or read a book or see pictures of this places?i understand this packages for holidays.you want to sit by the pool and relax.you are tired from work and you just want to lay down.

but travelling like this mean that you miss the point.
