It seems like a long time, now, since we were introduced to The Game as 50 Cent’s understudy and heir apparent; whether or not their subsequent feuds were clever marketing ploys or genuine fallouts will probably never be totally clear, but it’s probably fair to say that neither rapper has seen their career take the kind of turns they would have been hoping for. It’s a shame, in a lot of ways, because The Game’s debut full-length, The Documentary, was superb; cuts including ‘How We Do’, ‘Hate It or Love It’ and ‘Dreams’ remain staples of his live set, and rightly so. He’s still a regular on the UK live circuit, in fact, and continues to deliver a very solid hip hop show. It might be a blessing, in fact, that he never quite graduated to rap’s very biggest leagues, because there’s no pretense or rock star nonsense to his gigs; I can’t imagine him ranting about fashion houses for twenty minutes and wearing ridiculous masks for the duration of his performance any time soon. He brings a hype man with him, but mainly for the old-fashioned purpose of riling up the crowd; his flow remains sharp enough that he doesn’t need anybody backing him up. A DJ drops the beats, but it’s really the crowd’s relentless energy that provides the bedrock of The Game’s shows, a decade on from his emergence.

Great show by the Game.
He absolutely nailed it.
Shame about the new type of football chanting type fans in hop hop concerts.
Other than that it was a great show.

Ice Cube has announced details of a 2023 UK and Ireland tour in the winter with support from Cypress Hill and The Game .
Fans unable to catch the tour will still have an opportunity to check out Ice Cube live, though. On Hip Hop’s 50th birthday , Friday, August 11, in Hip Hop’s birthplace, The Bronx, the genre’s biggest names will come together for a legendary, celebratory concert: Hip Hop 50 Live at Yankee Stadium .
The can’t-miss milestone event will feature Run DMC’s “Bottom of the Ninth…The Walk-Off” performance, Lil Wayne , Snoop Dogg , Ice Cube, and more talent to be announced. A “Queens of Hip Hop” set will feature Eve, Lil Kim, Remy Ma , Trina, and more.
‘Hot Sauce Committee Part Two’: Beastie Boys’ Fiery Final Album
Additional performers include: T.I., Fat Joe, Common , A$AP Ferg, EPMD, Ghostface Killah , Lupe Fiasco, and Slick Rick .
Hip Hop 50 Live at Yankee Stadium is co-produced by Mass Appeal, Live Nation, and the New York Yankees. Additional acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
“I am honored to hit the stage in the Bronx, the birthplace of Hip Hop and celebrate all of my heroes,” said Run. “Aug 11th is Hip Hop’s 50th birthday! So…‘Up in the Bronx’ where it all started we will be celebrating this historic moment in history! I am honored to pay tribute to the culture that allowed this little shy kid from Queens to grow up and become The Mighty King of Rock! Thank you Hip Hop!!!” said DMC about the show.
Hip Hop 50 Live at Yankee Stadium is the latest announcement surrounding Mass Appeal’s Hip Hop 50 initiative—a massive cross-platform initiative that celebrates Hip Hop’s momentous anniversary in the most authentic and globally impactful way possible by acknowledging and recognizing Hip Hop as not only a genre but a movement that has impacted the worldwide community.

Everyone attending the show needs a show Entry Ticket . This gives full access to the Trade Halls, Demo games, Open Gaming Area, Family Zone, Playtest, and Seminars. In other words your Entry ticket plus the Trade stand fees is what pays for the show as well as the accommodation costs of the army of volunteers who make Expo happen.
In addition if you want to play in any Tournament or Roleplaying Game or participate in Live Events there is an additional Event Fee as specified on each Event Page. This is what pays for the EXTRA rooms we need to accommodate all the tournaments, all the acres of cloth we use for them, prize support for those events that are unsponsored, trophies and Umpire/ Gms expenses and accommodation as it is fair that folk who give up their time to run the events are not out of pocket. Generally when you add it all up, Tournaments and RPG's actually cost Expo money to run and that is why we ask tournament players to also buy an Entry ticket .
SINGLE DAY TICKET: Adults £18, Young Adult (11 to 15 years) £12. Family £50.
TWO DAY TICKET: Adults £34, Young Adult (11 to 15 years) £22. Family £90.
THREE DAY TICKET Adults £46, Young Adult (11 to 15 years) £34. Family £110.
FAMILY TICKET admits 2 adults and 2 young adults.

We want everyone to be able to come and enjoy UKGE. If you are attending UKGE and need a carer to facilitate your visit then consider this:
1. If your Carer is also a gamer and will be playing the games and be fully involved as an attendee themselves then they pay full rates like all other gamers.
2. But If you are attending UK Games Expo and due to a disability need a carer to get in and round UKGE BUT the carer is not themselves interested in games (or their ability to enjoy the show is significantly reduced) we do look at a discount or free ticket for the Carer. Contact [email protected] and we will discuss the matter further.
When booking Tickets please ensure you are familiar with the Attendees Terms
How do I request a refund before the show?
Refunds are requested by logging into your customer account and visiting the orders page.
- Click on the order you want fully or partially refunded.
- The details of this order will be shown.
- Click on the "Refund" button below the order you want refunded.
- You can request a complete refund or a partial refund.

If an request is sent after this day no refund will be made.
I have tried the "refund request" but still do not have a refund what should I do?
Your refund may not appear in your bank until 10 working days after we have refunded it. It is usually much quicker than this but can take 10 days depending on your bank. If you have not had a refund after 10 working days the feel free to contact Tony Hyams .
Refunds are not accepted if requested after the show.
At the Show
If an Attendee has purchased an Event Ticket (other than for a miniatures’ tournament), but is then unable to participate in the tournament or role playing game for which he had bought an Event Ticket, he may present the Event Ticket to the admin desk and request a refund. Refunds will only be made if the admin desk manager in their absolute discretion considers that there is a reasonable chance that the Event Ticket could be re-sold. Therefore requests for a refund made within 4 hours of the start time are unlikely to be met.
We will not refund Entry tickets at the show.
While we do not swap or exchange tickets, (Things can get a bit messy), you can simply request a refund for your current tickets and purchase the new tickets you require.

ESL One Birmingham: Thousands of fans head to West Midlands to watch professional video gamers
The slick world of esports came to the Resorts World Arena this weekend for ESL One Birmingham. 15,000 fans from across the world watched as teams battled it out - virtually.
News correspondent @RLCotterill
Sunday 28 April 2024 19:47, UK
The production is slick, the pundits are sharp and the players are gods.
This is no traditional tournament though. This is professional gaming. Fans are watching the best players in the world playing their favourite game, in an arena, for a cash prize.
Around 15,000 fans from across the world are in Birmingham watching pros go head-to-head (virtually) throughout the week, with many thousands more watching the competition online.
The tournament, ESL One Birmingham, is being held at the Resorts World Arena near the city's airport.
While many people will have heard of some of the games that are played at big esports events like this, such as Fifa, the game being played this week in Birmingham will be less widely known.
Dota 2 is described to me by one gaming analyst as being 'kind of like chess' but with flashing lights and novelty characters.
There are two teams of five players and, before play can begin, a considerable amount of time is spent by the professionals choosing their own characters and trying to stop the other team from choosing characters which might be overly advantageous during the game.

Fallout: The nuclear-powered gaming brand capturing new audiences
Then, frankly, the rules of the game are lost on me but I'm told it involves a king, queens and trying to destroy the enemy's (the other team's) base.
The fans tell me part of the appeal of Dota is how difficult the game is, but ultimately the enjoyment of being a spectator is the same as for sports enthusiasts.
"It's about the professional aspect of it, similar with football. You can go and play football but it's nice to see people playing it at a level you could never play at," says fan Ryan Freeman.
I'm here to watch the competition's semi-final between the UK team, Tundra, and a Saudi Arabian team, Falcons. There aren't actually any UK players in Tundra and Falcons are an equally international bunch.
Much like in professional athletic sports, esports teams are buying and selling the best players in the world. The pros in Tundra and Falcons are some of the best paid in the industry.
One expert tells me at this level, players can make $10,000 (£8,000) a month, plus tournament winnings and sponsorship deals. The prize pot at this competition is $1m (£800,000) although that is shared between the teams, with the winning team taking $300,000 (£240,000).
"I think many people think of the esports team as just five guys who like playing the game at home," says Alvaro Sanchez Velasco, Product Manager at ESL One Birmingham.
"But the [team] organisations have boot camps, they have schedules that include training regimens, psychological visits. They usually have a team manager and team psychologist, that's very common these days, as well as a coach and assistant coach."
Jonas Volek is a Czech professional gamer and although he's not taking part in this tournament in Birmingham, he's here to commentate and analyse the games. While I'm interviewing him I see a line of fans developing, they're clearly waiting for him to finish speaking.
When he does, they all ask for selfies.
Mr Volek, 23, played chess as a child, then switched to video games and by 12 years old he was hooked on Dota 2, becoming a professional player by his late teens. Now he competes in tournaments across the world.
"It's not really a job, it's more of a lifestyle because it takes so much of my time," says Mr Volek.

"When I'm really training, it takes 12 hours a day, and I'm always travelling. There's no time for anything else."
I didn't see any female players on stage in Birmingham, and the audience is dominated by men.
"I do hope one day I'll see more women up there playing the game in the best teams," says fan Charlotte Keane.
But there isn't the charged, often volatile atmosphere that you might find at many sporting events, particularly men's football.
There is some comic 'smack talk' between players from opposing teams, egged on by the hosts for the audience's enjoyment. But after one player criticises the other player's hair in mock-serious fashion, one of the hosts decides that's enough play fighting.

Of course, for the fans, there isn't the same territorial spirit that comes with supporting a particular football team for instance. Mostly this is about respect for the individual players, who can't hear any of the cheers or chants from the crowd during the game as they wear noise cancelling headphones so they can focus on winning.
Keep up with all the latest news from the UK and around the world by following Sky News
After about an hour of play, Falcons are victorious, and the fans make their way out of the auditorium to buy hot dogs and fish and chips.
This event feels distinctly less boozy than any sporting competition I've ever been to. But, even for an enthusiast, Dota 2 does not seem like the kind of game it would be easy to follow after a few pints.
Thank you Birmingham

Multi-platinum and three-time Grammy award-winning artist Olivia Rodrigo announced her highly anticipated GUTS world tour in support of her second studio album, GUTS, which was released 8 September. Produced by Live Nation, the massive global 2024 tour kicks off its 57-date run on Friday, coming to Utilita Arena Birmingham on Friday 10 May 2024, joined by support act Remi Wolf
Following the incredible success of her 2022 debut tour The SOUR Tour, the GUTS world tour will be Olivia’s first arena tour, taking her to iconic venues around the world.
One of the most highly awaited albums of the year, GUTS arrived as the follow-up to Rodrigo’s 4x Platinum 2021 full-length debut SOUR and features her No. 1 hit “vampire” and the new focus track “get him back!” Like “vampire,” GUTS’ second single “bad idea, right?” was named a Best New Track by Pitchfork, who hailed the latter as “one of the best pop performances of the year.” Released in August alongside its B-movie-inspired video, “bad idea right?” also drew raves from the likes of Rolling Stone (who called it a “sugary headbanger”) and the New York Times (who praised the track as a “bright, kaleidoscopic head-rush of a pop song…” in its weekly column “The Playlist”).
Our performance times are usually confirmed closer to the show. We’ll post the times as soon as we can get them, so check back about a week before for updates.

Lots of checkpoints to walk to. Some of the points were a long way away making it near impossible to finish in a day. For example a country park 20 minutes drive away. Not a bad way to spend the day but there are better more engaging tours available. Read more Written February 15, 2024

It took 6 and a half hours to get to main coach. In total the whole journey to and from St Ives from Sudbury Suffolk took 14 hours. The hotel room was dirty and the carpet had many bald patches and again very dirty. Room backed on to road with continuous traffic. Courier would not open side door on the coach when safe to do so consequently it took ages to get of off the coach, cutting our time for breaks which were fairly short anyway. The first and last holiday with this company. The whole trip was not worth the money and very disappointing. Speaking to others on the trip I was not the only one. Although we were disappointed in the declining quality of food, we found the service, friendliness of the staff, food presentation, & entertainment to be excellent. The itinerary was excellent as well. We did an independent tour with Tours of Guernsey which was outstanding. Our guide was very knowledgable, friendly, & professional. We visited the German Underground Hospital, a WWII museum & the Little Chapel. The Little Chapel was closed when we arrived but our guide was kind enough to check when it would reopen so we were able to return to see it. Those on the Princess tour who arrived when it was locked did not get that opportunity. Unfortunately we learned that Princess no longer plans to include Guernsey on its itinerary. We believe that this is a mistake since the island was both interesting, beautiful and its people exceptionally friendly. We hope Princess reconsiders their decision & keeps Guernsey on its itinerary since we'd love to return their again. In Portland, UK, we booked the Jurassic Coast Adventure with Dorset Tours. This is a relatively new company which goes out of its way to provide an excellent tour of the beautiful coast, Weymouth, & Portland. Spencer was an excellent guide who was friendly, informative, & professional. Don't hesitate to book a tour with Dorset Tours. Read more Written September 11, 2023

We've been coming to n.wales for many years but still haven't seen much of Angelsey and this was a perfect way to conjole 2 competitive teens ( and a competitive mum) into exploring the island and visiting all sorts of fascinating places we wouldn't have otherwise visited! There is a LOT of content for the price and we found that it took us one whole day just to go from Beaumaris up the right coast, so probably about a sixth of the available content. With good planing you could use this to easily keep a family amused and active for a week in all weathers. Highly recommended from all of us!! Read more Written August 9, 2023

The Game Announces ‘Drillmatic’ UK & Ireland Tour
By Joe Simpson
18 Aug 2022
Rap icon The Game has unveiled details of his new Drillmatic tour of the UK and Ireland, his first time in the UK in more than five years, kicking off this November.
Starting out at Ulster Hall in Belfast on 25th November, the 13-date tour is his biggest of the UK and Ireland yet, and takes in shows at the likes of 3Arena in Dublin (Co-Headliner with Irish rap duo Versatile), the O2 Academy in Edinburgh and Manchester’s O2 Ritz, before rounding off at the O2 Academy Brixton on 14th December (full list of tour dates below).
Those looking to attend can pre-register from 10am on 15th August, with pre-sale tickets going on sale 19th August and general sale 22nd August. The announcement ties in with the release of his new 30-track album Drillmatic: Heart Vs Mind, his tenth album to date, dropping 12th August.
Compton rapper The Game emerged as one of the rawest voices on the early-2000s West Coast hip-hop scene, with intense autobiographical narratives and a hungry need to assert his lyrical presence. His forceful talent was established with his 2005 studio debut The Documentary, and the rapper has moved tirelessly ever since, releasing a non-stop string of mixtapes, singles and acclaimed albums including 2008’s LAX, 2011’s The R.E.D. Album and 2019’s Born 2 Rap. 2022 has seen a string of high-profile singles released including Eazy featuring Kanye West and Stupid featuring Big Sean, with Friday’s anticipated release of Drillmatic seeing the Grammy-winner team up with Hit Boy across it’s 30-track duration.
One of the world’s greatest ever rappers, The Game makes his long-overdue return to British and Irish shores.

Follow live coverage as Huddersfield Town face Birmingham City in the Championship today.
An increasingly competitive second tier in English football remains an intense and exciting competition, with the prize of a place in the Premier League on offer at the end of the season.
Last year Southampton, Leicester City and Leeds United were relegated from the top flight and all are hopeful of making a quick return - but the likes of Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland all have real promotion ambitions too.
At the other end of the table, QPR, Cardiff City and Birmingham City will hope for better campaigns than last year’s relegation struggle - while newcomers Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to survive after dramatic progress through the play-offs.
Follow live updates from today’s game in the live blog below.
