Travel Trailer Bunkhouse Models

What is the best RV with bunk beds? Travel trailer bunkhouses are great for first time RVers. With the capacity to sleep more people in a limited space, the bunkhouse travel trailer's flexible floor plans will suit a wide variety of campers. In a travel trailer bunkhouse camper, you’ll always have room for one more guest to join you on your journey.

What is a travel trailer bunkhouse?

A travel trailer bunkhouse is an RV that’s a travel trailer, meaning it’s towed, with bunk beds included as a feature. They can come as small, medium, or large campers in a range of weights. Bunkhouses appear in luxury travel trailers and more modest designs alike. And bunkhouses can contain double, triple, or quad bunks to suit your camping needs.

If you’re interested in a Heartland RV model that blends the best aspects of a travel trailer with the efficiency of bunk beds, take a look at the selection below. Our bunkhouse campers range in length from 22 to 37 feet, and can sleep between 4 and 10 people. Visit our RV Finder to help find your best RV model by its specific capacity, features, and find bunkhouse campers or an RV with bunk beds for sale.

What are the benefits of a bunkhouse camper?

Travel trailer bunkhouses are a great value––you get extra sleeping space for an affordable price. In addition to sleeping capacity, a travel trailer with a bunk room can provide flexibility. Bunk beds are efficient in floor plans, leaving more floor space to move around. Some bunkhouses include beds in a loft, which makes the most of vertical space, leaving you more RV storage room.

These types of RVs are typically smaller, lighter, and more affordable compared to fifth wheels and toy haulers . And smaller travel trailers are great for new RV owners , because their size means they’re easier to tow. Don’t let categories fool you, however––travel trailers are more than just basic RVs. You can also find travel trailers with bunkhouses in mid-range and luxury models, and with a wide variety of attractive amenities. Looking for a bunkhouse model with a fireplace or an outdoor RV kitchen ? Heartland can help you find it.

Who should consider buying a travel trailer bunkhouse RV?

Travel trailers with bunkhouses can suit a variety of campers. Maybe you have a big family with lots of kids, or you like to travel with your extended family in a bunkhouse travel trailer. Bunk beds are a great way to give everyone a little space to themselves. If you like to travel with groups of friends, travel trailer bunkhouse campers are perfect for keeping everyone happy on the road.

Kids love bunk beds because they can go to sleep earlier or later than their siblings without being disturbed when someone else gets up or goes to bed. And a bunkhouse RV's floor plans are perfect for teenagers who want to bring along a friend or just have some time alone to read or listen to music in peace. One additional use for bunk beds is overflow storage space, particularly for people traveling with large objects. For instance, we know of one family who RVs full-time and uses their bunk bed to hold a stand-up cello when they’re on the road.

Disclaimer: Always consult owner’s manuals for vehicles and accessories before towing a recreational vehicle. Towing capacity will vary based on cargo, vehicle configuration, accessories, and number of passengers.

In an innovative leap, the MoonLander merges the best of both worlds, acting as a hybrid between a traditional truck topper and a camper, giving many the option for an affordable expedition rig. This unique camper is extended on both sides, offering the freedom to sleep sideways over the truck bed. What does this mean for you? You can enjoy approximately 80″ of sleeping length in a mid-size truck, and up to an astonishing 87″ in a full-size truck!

MoonLander Overland Truck Shell Campers by Radica 002

One of the biggest highlights of the MoonLander is its effortless setup. Unlike many other campers and rooftop tents, the MoonLander sports a hard shell with no canvas or zippers to fiddle with. This simple yet highly effective design keeps you safer and cozier, protecting you from nature’s elements while ensuring a quieter and warmer interior.

MoonLander Overland Truck Shell Campers by Radica 003

Light, Versatile, and Built for the Outdoors

The MoonLander is one of the lightest truck bed campers on the market. It’s designed to feel and drive like a topper, not a camper, making it an effortless addition to your truck. The lofted bed panels can be easily removed, turning your MoonLander into a massive cargo space, allowing you to use your truck for cargo again. Weighing just 225 lbs. without the windows or bed frame, this camper topper adds minimal impact on your truck’s gas mileage, proving to be as economical as it is practical.

MoonLander Overland Truck Shell Campers by Radica 004

However, the true charm of MoonLander lies in its rugged, expedition-ready design. It’s built to withstand the most demanding environments with reinforced aluminum framing, marine-grade sealants, and thick 1/16″ aluminum skins. And if you’re in the mood for a peaceful sunset viewing, the reinforced roof can comfortably hold 2-3 people on top. Plus, the framing allows you to mount gear on both the inside and outside.

Customize Your Dream Mobile Living Space

One of the standout features of MoonLander is its high customizability, making it an open canvas for your camping setup or a DIY dream platform. You can choose from a range of factory options for customization. Here’s a quick glimpse of the possibilities:

  • A range of windows, including stationary, sliding, porthole, and Arctic Tern
  • An upgradeable queen-size lofted bed frame
  • The option for a single swing out barn door
  • Propane tank mount
  • Brake light bar with sequential turn signals
  • Solar package
  • Tailgate lock
  • Camper jacks
  • THULE roof rack tracks
  • Integrated LED lighting package
  • Slim side pods for those who prefer a slimmer profile

Remember, the MoonLander is all about making it truly yours. The structural aluminum framing lets you mount virtually anything to create your personalized camping setup.

Yes, please! While my 4×8 square drop is great for Solo trips, this will make it so much easier, and it will act as his sleeping space when we both travel so I don’t steal the covers, lol.

Good thinking! I’m really loving the MoonLander as an option for anyone who’s got a truck. They’re so cool! And pretty affordable! Wouldn’t mind picking up a used Nissan Frontier 4×4 and pairing it with one of these 🙂

HGTV’s ‘Ugliest House in America’ has some thoughts on WA homes

Comedian Retta (“Parks and Recreation”) has learned a thing or two about disappointing domiciles, but she discovers there are always additional ways to mar a home’s aesthetics in her visits to three Washington residences in “Ugliest House in America” (9 p.m. April 29, HGTV), now in its fifth season.

“I often had to go up steps to get to the house,” Retta recalled of the homes in the Washington episode in a phone interview earlier this month. “I gotta work to get into the house and then there were steps inside the house. Enough with the steps!”

The Seattle home’s owners, Brittany and Mehmet, welcomed Retta into their hall-of-mirrors house. The homeowners explain the house, built in 1965 with a view of Mount Rainier, was previously owned by an artist who attached mirrors to every imaginable surface in the home, including mirror mosaics on the walls and potentially hazardous 3D mirror art in the dining room. In one spot a mirror is even framed by a mirror.

“I think you have all of the mirrors in the Pacific Northwest,” Retta says in the episode.

Except perhaps for in one room: a bathroom, where one would be most likely to find a large mirror, has only a small mirror.

“Of all the mirrors in all the land, there were no more mirrors in Seattle. That’s all they could get,” Retta says in the episode. “The glue people and the mirror people in this town were thrilled.”

(A publicist for the series said the Seattle homeowners did not respond to requests for an interview, what part of Seattle they live in or for permission to use their last names.)

Retta also visits a 10,000-square-foot octagon-shaped house in Sultan, Snohomish County, where she says “every room is shaped like a slice of pie. … And a lot of the square footage is hallway.”

In the Sultan house, Retta also found more mirrors, echoing her Seattle finds.

“I don’t understand why everybody thought mirrors were décor,” she says. “Not everybody wants to look at themselves!”

And she found more steps, not only to get to the home’s entrance but also once inside. One bathroom has five levels.

“When I’m rushing to pee, I don’t want to go up steps!” she says.

Retta’s final stop is a home in West Richland, Benton County, that features two intersecting staircases and a bomb shelter with a curtain instead of a door. A helpful on-screen notation says, “Radiation can pass through fabric.”

At the end of each episode, Retta announces which of the three homes featured will be in the running for a $150,000 renovation by HGTV designer Alison Victoria that will be featured as the season finale episode. But it’s not Retta doing the picking.

“They go through all of that,” Retta said of the show’s producers. “It’s because of the cost, because there is a budget, but also they’re looking for the potential for the best before-and-after. You want to see the change, you don’t just want it to be structural. And a lot of it is the availability of contractors and what kind of speed they can work at because we’re on a schedule.”

Retta says despite all the weird, ugly homes she’s visited, she continues to be amazed.

“It’s simple things, like, why is this an entryway you have to duck every time you go through it? Or when you go into the bathroom you have to walk in sideways because the door doesn’t open more than a foot,” she says. “Why did you agree to this and why haven’t you fixed it?”

Retta seems to get a kick out of the homes and especially the opportunity to use her stand-up comic background to riff on their idiosyncrasies. She says filming “Ugliest House” is a bigger challenge than working on scripted series such as “Good Girls” or “Parks and Recreation.”

“We have to work around logistics,” she says. “In scripted [shows], you’re in one place and you’ve got a transportation team and a set decorator team, whereas there’s just a few of us traveling around and we’ve got to make stuff work.”

That’s included finishing her hair and makeup in a gas station bathroom. Retta says she’s been shooting “Ugliest House” seasons back-to-back. She’s currently midway through filming a sixth season that started in March and will finish in July. Then she’ll be ready to get back to acting.

“I really want to do another [scripted] series. That’s my favorite,” she says. “I like having someplace to wake up and go to work. I enjoy doing films, too. I like doing shows at home and films on location.”

The episode featuring three Washington homes will premiere at 9 p.m. April 29 on HGTV.

‘Some Ibiza magic’ … ravers at The Trip in London in 1988.

‘We handed out raw fish to clubbers’: the mind-bending acid house tour of London

George Georgiou gave British rave culture its smiley face. Now he’s placing plaques where hardcore clubbers sweated till dawn. Our writer joins the designer – and DJs Danny Rampling and Nicky Holloway – on a face-melting trip

‘I remember this street being covered with hundreds of these all over the floor,” says George Georgiou, handing me an original smiley-face flyer he designed for the acid house club night Shoom. “I wish I’d picked them up because now they sell for up to a grand.”

The doorway we’re standing outside in London Bridge is one of many locations we’ll visit today, as Georgiou places acid house heritage plaques outside buildings that were once home to clubs such as Shoom, Raw and Sin. These locations are then tagged on an interactive acid house map on his website. We kick off the day 15 minutes’ walk away on Tooley Street, where the Special Branch club began life in 1984. It was here that resident DJs Nicky Holloway and Pete Tong lured suburban soul boys and Soho trendies to an old pub to get sweaty, while Gilles Peterson kept the footworkers busy by spinning jazz-funk in the other room.

In the 80s and 90s, Georgiou shaped the aesthetic of much of London’s underground dance nightlife. As well as flyers he designed membership cards, logos, posters, banners – entire nightclub aesthetics. “George was instrumental,” says Danny Rampling, who has turned up to see the plaque at the location of Shoom, a club he ran from 1987 to 1990 .

Nights to remember … George Georgiou adds a plaque to the former site of Raw.

Also with us, when not sneaking off to the pub at any available opportunity, is Nicky Holloway, a DJ and promoter who, along with Rampling, was one of the “Ibiza four” . Together with Johnny Walker and Paul Oakenfold, they had their minds melted by hearing DJ Alfredo Fiorito on the island in 1987 – and came back to launch their own club nights. “Obviously you can’t recreate Ibiza in London, but we did bring some of that magic and spirit into the nightlife scene,” Rampling says.

While house music was already pumping loudly in Manchester, Sheffield and Nottingham, such clubs were seismic. “It was indisputably a benchmark for the rave scene,” says Rampling. “People would anticipate all week entering those hallowed doors down into a smoke and strobe-filled basement. It’s not about who was first, it’s about how it was done, and Shoom was a very creative, colourful club.”

That colour saturates the very expensive A5 card I hold in my hand. However, Georgiou was initially nonplussed by the smiley-face design Rampling requested. “I thought it was lame,” says Gerorgiou as we hop in a cab on our way to London’s oldest YMCA club, in whose basement Raw was once located. “It was a 60s thing. It was patches on people’s jeans from Woodstock days. I was like, ‘How do I make this horrible logo more interesting?’”

The answer was with “a cascade of tumbling pill smilies”, as Rampling describes it. The image became synonymous with the burgeoning rave scene and DJ Magazine later called it the best club flyer of all time. “Years later, people would come up to me and shake my hand and be like, ‘I used to make roaches out of that flyer,’” Georgiou says. “Then my work started appearing in books next to people I grew up admiring. Surreal.”

Georgiou was hired to do the decor for entrepreneur Oliver Peyton’s club Raw, which Holloway loved so much he then asked Georgiou to come and make over the pub where he was holding his night Special Branch. “We made a patchwork quilt of banners for every wall,” recalls Holloway. “We covered every inch of this boring looking pub. George turned it into a poptastic pop art venue. I’d take him over Keith Haring any day.”

‘People even popped my flyers!’ … George Georgiou, Danny Rampling and Nicky Holloway with the plaque for Shoom.

Georgiou has meticulously archived his work, and a lot of it is about to be turned into NFTs. “This was the first ever flyer for Raw,” he says, handing me a pill capsule that contains a folded-up flyer inside. “Legend has it people were popping these.” He came up with plenty of other unconventional design ideas: “We handed out bananas with stickers on, little cacti, toys, even raw fish – little whitebait in a plastic bag with the club’s name on.”

Holloway and Georgiou worked on many other events together, including Sin at the Astoria, and nights at Holloway’s venue the Milk Bar – locations that are now non-existent, as we walk along a bustling Tottenham Court Road that once housed them – and one-off parties in places including the Natural History Museum. “We put strobes under the dinosaur,” laughs Holloway. “That particular week [in 1987], Walk the Dinosaur by Was (Not Was) was Top 10, so we’re all dancing around the dinosaur to that. We had projections everywhere – it was bonkers. Fast forward 20 years when I was DJing there for some corporate nonsense, and I had to get public liability insurance and do a risk assessment.”

Doing this trail of London’s old rave haunts, the changes to the buildings, and to people’s ability to access such spaces to throw such wild parties, feel very pronounced. “London always has something exciting going on, but it was a pivotal time in youth culture,” reflects Rampling. “Before things got commercialised it was all very DIY and organic. A real feeling of unity, hope, love and optimism.”

At that moment one of the large, bright yellow plaques comes loose from its wall, crashing and spinning down – mirroring the tumbling smiley face on the flyer – and just misses Rampling’s head. “That would have been quite the way to go out, wouldn’t it?” he laughs.

WASHINGTON, DC —  Yesterday, Wednesday, May 1, 2024, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) co-hosted a bipartisan tour of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Gottheimer co-hosted the tour with Reps. David Kustoff (TN-8), Anthony D’Esposito (NY-4), Don Bacon (NE-2), Brad Schneider (IL-10), Dean Phillips (MN-3), and Max Miller (OH-7).

The Representatives first discussed  The Protocols of the Elders of Zion , a fabricated text which has been used to spread hate and antisemitism for centuries. Afterwards, the members toured the museum, which documents the lead-up to the Holocaust, remembers the millions of lives lost in concentration camps, and highlights the need for all to speak up against antisemitism. Before the tour, Congressman Gottheimer discussed the relevance of remembering and learning about the Holocaust in the wake of Hamas’s October 7 terrorist attack on Israel, the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the end of the Holocaust.

“It was a true privilege to co-host my colleagues for a bipartisan tour of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum,”  said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), the only Jewish member of the New Jersey delegation.  “Walking through these exhibits is a solemn reminder of the lives lost during the Holocaust and the devastation that antisemitism can reap. Now more than ever, we must work together to combat antisemitism — on college campuses and everywhere in the United States.”

Gottheimer is committed to honoring the memory of the Holocaust and combating antisemitism through education. Last year, he cosponsored  bipartisan legislation , the Holocaust Education and Antisemitism Lessons (HEAL) Act, to conduct a study on Holocaust education efforts in public schools nationwide.

Vice President Kamala   Harris Launches Nationwide Economic Opportunity   Tour

The Vice President will kick off her multi-state tour with a moderated conversation in Atlanta, GA on April 29 and an event in Detroit, MI during the following week

WASHINGTON – Vice President Kamala Harris announced today that she will embark on a nationwide Economic Opportunity Tour with a series of events focused on investing in communities, building wealth, and ensuring every American has the freedom to thrive. The Vice President’s tour will take her back to several states across the country as she highlights how the Biden-Harris Administration has built economic opportunity and delivered for the American people. The Economic Opportunity Tour will kick off with a moderated conversation in Atlanta, GA on April 29 and an event in Detroit, MI during the following week. Additional dates and locations will be announced soon.

“President Biden and I are committed to creating an economy in which every person has the freedom to thrive. That is why we have taken historic steps to advance economic opportunity by increasing access to capital, investing in small businesses, addressing housing costs, forgiving student loans and medical debt, investing in infrastructure, and championing additional policies that put money in people’s pockets and build wealth,” said Vice President Harris.   “Our economic approach has delivered great progress, and we will continue to invest in you, your family, and your future.”

During the Vice President’s Economic Opportunity Tour, she will highlight how the Biden-Harris Administration has delivered historic investments that have supported communities and helped people thrive. This includes making unprecedented investments in small businesses and achieving the fastest creation of Black-owned small businesses in more than 30 years, creating a record number of jobs, increasing access to capital for underserved communities, investing in infrastructure, cutting the price of insulin and expanding access to health care, erasing medical debt, forgiving more student loan debt than any administration in history and boosting investments in education, making housing more affordable, lowering child care costs, and increasing the wealth of American families. Vice President Harris will also outline additional steps that she and President Biden are taking to expand this work. She will be joined on the tour by Administration officials, members of Congress, local leaders, and other special guests.

The Vice President’s tour is a continuation of her nonstop travel to communities across the country. She has made more than 35 trips to 16 states since the beginning of 2024. This includes consistent travel to meet with small business owners and entrepreneurs in underserved communities to discuss challenges and opportunities they face. In March, she traveled to Black Wall Street in Durham, NC to announce $32 million in funds to support historically underserved entrepreneurs. She began the year in Las Vegas, NV where she announced an SBA rule that will ensure millions of Americans who have served time are eligible for SBA loan programs that help individuals start and run small businesses.

The Vice President has long been focused on ensuring that minority, rural, and low-income communities have the capital and resources they need to thrive and support small businesses. Last year, she announced that Treasury’s CDFI Fund has awarded over $1.73 billion in grants to 603 Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) across the country. In 2022, the Vice President also announced a first-of-its-kind public-private sector initiative — the Economic Opportunity Coalition (EOC) — that is a historic public-private partnership of more than 20 private sector organizations that will invest tens of billions of dollars to create opportunity and grow wealth in historically underserved communities. The EOC has already surpassed over $1 billion in increased member company deposits into community finance institutions. As a Senator, the Vice President partnered with key Congressional stakeholders to secure a transformative $12 billion investment for CDFIs and MDIs in December 2020. Since that time, she has worked to ensure these programs are as successful as possible.

Additional dates, cities, and details for media to RSVP will be available soon.

Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Moscow Tours centering on Russian History

Moscow has a long and interesting history and has been the capital of Russia in many of its different iterations – capital of the Grand Duchy of Moscow , the Russian Empire and of course the Soviet Union (who could ever forget the Soviet Union?). Moscow, was founded in the 12th century by Prince Yuri Dolgaruki (Yuri of the long arms – he really did have long arms!). From that time on, it was home to the Russian Tsars until Peter the Great moved the capital to St. Petersburg in 1703. The city has survived invasions and sieges from the Mongols, the Tartars, the Poles, Lithuanians and Napoleon but has always persevered. Our Moscow tours will enlighten you on this great history and give you insights into Muscovites and their unique culture. Our Moscow tours show you what the city is like today but also brings to life the past. Moscow never seems to sleep and is bursting with energy. A Moscow tour with Express to Russia is truly the best way of getting to know Russia’s largest and most vibrant city.

Frequently Asked Questions From Our Travelers

What is the best time to visit moscow.

Any time of year is fine depending on what you plan to do. Summertime is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the city and its vibrant atmosphere, but Moscow will be much busier and accommodation is more expensive. Winter can be quite cold but beautiful nonetheless, and this is unproblematic if you intend to spend most of your trip in museums and galleries. There are also various festivals and events organised throughout the year. For more information about the best time to visit, read our guide

How many days are enough in Moscow?

If you plan your itinerary strategically and aren’t averse to a packed schedule, you can cover Moscow’s main sights over a long weekend. Most popular attractions are in the city centre, and the Moscow Metro allows you to cover much ground in a small amount of time. Ensure that your accommodation is fairly central and book tickets in advance, so that you can make the most of your days. For an informative and well-organised day out, check out our Moscow day tours with options to suit all interests.

Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you. Kamala Harris Leads Push to Shore Up Democratic Support From Black Voters

Speaking in Atlanta, the vice president began a national tour to highlight how the Biden administration is trying to help Black Americans economically.

Vice President Kamala Harris made a new effort to energize Black voters in battleground states on Monday, visiting Atlanta for the kickoff of a national economic tour that will highlight how the Biden administration says its policies are helping a constituency that will be vital to Democrats’ success in November.

Speaking to a largely Black crowd of about 400 people, Ms. Harris laid out ways that she and President Biden have sought to improve Black Americans’ upward mobility and help them realize their business ambitions. A chief objective of the tour, she said, was to let Black business owners and entrepreneurs know about the resources available to them.

“I need the help of the leaders who are here to get the word out so people know what is available to them,” she said during a conversation at the Georgia International Convention Center with Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings of the financial literacy podcast “Earn Your Leisure,” which offers business advice to its more than two million listeners, a majority of whom are Black.

Explaining how government policies have widened the racial wealth gap over the years, Ms. Harris pointed to the Biden administration’s attempts to try to narrow it, including small-business grants and efforts to forgive student loans.

“We want to make sure people know about it — and then know where they can receive — the support to be ready to take on the work and then to grow their capacity,” she said.

Her remarks at the official White House-hosted event — drier and less political than her forceful campaign speeches on abortion recently — meandered at times.

“As much as anything, the spirit behind the push for access to capital, and in particular, on this tour, focusing on minority small businesses and Black-owned small businesses, and small businesses and entrepreneurs who are Black men, is to recognize the disparities that have existed around the access to the opportunity to achieve success,” she said at one point.

But at other moments Ms. Harris was more pointed, including when she defended diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives that conservative lawmakers have pushed to dismantle in state governments and at colleges and universities .

“In spite of those who in certain parts of our country want to attack D.E.I., we understand that you can’t truly invest in the strength of our nation if you don’t pay attention to diversity, equity and inclusion,” she said.

The vice president’s Atlanta visit, her 12th trip to Georgia since taking office, was the first stop in a tour of several battleground states in the coming weeks. Much of the tour will focus on Black small businesses and economic issues that are especially pressing for Black communities. She will visit Detroit next week, aides said.

Ms. Harris’s tour will also seek to engage Black men, whom Democrats are urgently courting as polls show them softening in their support for Mr. Biden. Much of the crowd at the vice president’s event consisted of Black male political and business leaders, as well as a contingent of students from Morehouse College, a historically Black men’s college in Atlanta where President Biden will deliver the commencement address next month.

Before her speech, Ms. Harris visited an entrepreneurship hub near downtown Atlanta where she spoke with Black small-business owners.

Flanked by Georgia’s Democratic senators, Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, as well as Representative Nikema Williams, the state Democratic Party chair, Ms. Harris highlighted the Biden administration’s marquee legislation, like the CHIPS and Science Act, which offers funding for small-business research projects.

She also underlined the roughly $7 billion that the administration has poured into historically Black colleges and universities, the largest investment of any White House administration.

Atlanta is set to receive more than $150 million for a project called The Stitch that is meant to revitalize the city’s downtown areas and connect them to its growing midtown neighborhoods. Georgia is one of 40 states that will receive money from a White House program that aims to repair the decades-old societal damage from federal transportation projects that disproportionately displaced Black communities.

Our Coverage of the 2024 Election

Presidential Race

From Florida  to Arizona , the presidential campaign trail was brimming with reminders of just how central Democrats hope the abortion rights debate will be  to voters’ decisions this fall.

Donald Trump urged college presidents to take a tougher approach to protests over the war in Gaza that have swept across campuses and praised police action at the demonstrations .

Trump told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he would not commit to accepting the results  of the 2024 election, as he again repeated his lies that the 2020 election was stolen from him.

The Ultimate D.C. Veteran:  In 30 years of Senate bids, Joe Biden was such a formidable incumbent  that he did not face a serious threat to his return to office. But his last re-election is shaping up to be a fight.

Awash in Federal Money:  Across Milwaukee, there is evidence of federal money from laws passed under the Biden administration. The president hopes voters will notice .

Disinformation at the Border:  A flier urging migrants to vote for Biden rocketed around right-wing social media. But was it authentic ?

A Match Made in MAGA:  Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio and Donald Trump Jr. have bonded politically and personally . It’s a relationship that could factor into the former president’s search for a running mate.
