The Bernabeu Tour begins at the highest part of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, with stunning panoramic field views from the second stand.

You get a sense of the massive Stadium that can seat more than 80,000 spectators.

You then continue the tour to the ‘Best Club Ever Room’ to see the collection of objects and trophies won by Real Madrid over the years.

After seeing the silverware, you will understand why Real Madrid is known as the ‘Best club of the 20th century’.

You learn about Real Madrid’s history at the Sensations Room through its past legends and titles won.

In this room, you can see the current first team’s skills and goals and see them interacting in an audiovisual presentation projected on an 11-meter (36-foot) screen.

After taking photographs and selfies with your idols, you move to the ‘Kings of Europe’ room to see the 13 European Cups won by Real Madrid.

Santiago Bernabeu Tour then takes you to the team benches, where you can try being in the Real Madrid coach’s difficult shoes.

You also get a privileged view of the play area near the benches, which usually only the players experience.

Next, it is time for the dressing room, which is the most important place for any soccer team, for it is here that they receive instructions from the coach and prepare for the match.

Finally, you head to the press room, where the team’s coach handles the media’s questions.

You leave the Tour del Bernabeu feeling like a Real Madrid player.

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid

Both tours follow the same route, and visitors can see the same places of interest within Stadium Santiago Bernabeu.

All visitors on a Santiago Bernabeu Tour get to see and experience the following –

  • Panoramic view of the Stadium
  • The ‘Best Club in History’ room

They also ensure you don’t miss any important exhibits and experiences.

On a self-guided tour, the Bernabeu Tour audio guide, available in ten languages, helps you through.

Another difference is the timing of your visit – self-guided tickets are available all day, while guided tours are available only four times a day.

The Guided Bernabeu Tour starts at 10 am or 12 pm when it operates.

Real Madrid and Microsoft have joined to create the Bernabeu tour’s audio guide.

It incorporates the most advanced technological features to make your visit to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and the Real Madrid Museum a fun experience.

The interactive audio guide allows visitors to enjoy a personalized experience by choosing one of the three tours available based on their preference.

On Sundays and holidays, the Tour of the World’s best soccer stadium and Museum opens at 10 am and goes on till 6.30 pm.

The Santiago Bernabeu tour is open throughout the year, except for 25 December and 1 January.

The changing rooms are closed from the day before at 1 pm, so you can’t visit the team dressing room on match days.

First team's changing room at Bernabeu stadium

Once the changing room closes, you can only visit the ‘Best Club in History’ and the ‘Sensations’ rooms and enjoy the Stadium’s panoramic view.

When it is four hours to go for the match, all Bernabeu tour participants are requested to leave.

The best time to visit Bernabeu Stadium for the Real Madrid Stadium and Museum tour is as soon as they open at 9.30 am.

Large group tours start arriving around 11 am, crowding the experience.

Santiago Bernabeu also receives many visitors from schools around Spain and Europe, all of whom tend to arrive at the same time.

The dressing rooms are closed from 1 pm, the day before a matchday. When you start early, you see these rooms even if the next day were a match day.

Real Madrid fans are known to spend at least three to four hours on the Santiago Bernabeu tour.

That’s because fans spend a lot of time taking official pictures ‘with’ the players, sitting in the club seats on the field to soak in the experience, spending time in the shop looking at souvenirs, etc.

Tourists in a hurry are known to finish their Real Madrid stadium tour in 90 minutes or so.

The guided tour of Santiago Bernabeu Stadium , where an official Real Madrid CF guide takes you around, also lasts 90 minutes. However, guided tours are not highly rated.

  • With a seating capacity of 81,044, the Santiago Bernabeu is the 14th largest football stadium in the world and 4th largest in Europe.
  • This stadium hosted the Champions League (earlier known as European Cup) final on 4 occasions - 1957, 1969, 1980 and 2010. It has also hosted the World Cup Final in 1982, making it the first stadium to host both a UEFA European Championship and a World Cup final.
  • Interestingly enough the stadium started out with a capacity of 75,145, then went to hold 125,000, before finally coming down to 81,044 after extensive renovations and reconstructions.
  • Apart from hosting football matches, the Santiago Bernabeu has also hosted massive music concerts, with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones and U2 having performed here.
  • In 2013, club president Florentino Perez announced that the Santiago Bernabeu would undergo large-scale renovation in order to make it “The Best Stadium in the World”. Although this remodelling won’t affect the capacity of the stadium, there will be new, world-class facilities for players and fans alike.

The future Santiago Bernabéu Stadium

The Santiago Bernabeu is currently undergoing renovation. Technology is one of the pillars of the renovation project which will make the stadium a more modern, comfortable and safe stadium, with new leisure, restaurant and entertainment areas. In the words of Florentino Pérez, "the new stadium will continue to be the scene of the emotions that will mark the future of Real Madrid, the best stadium in the world to be recognized again at the end of this century as the best club of the 21st century. new stadium, heritage and pride of our members and fans ”.

Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek attend Real Madrid vs Barcelona La Liga clash at Santiago Bernabeu ahead of Madrid Open 2024

A head of the 2024 Madrid Open, Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, and Iga Swiatek attended the La Liga game between Real Madrid and Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Sunday.

Real Madrid secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Barcelona in the latest El Clasico clash. With this win, they extended their lead at the top of La Liga to 11 points (Barcelona are second) with only six matches left in the season.

The crucial win essentially dashed Barcelona's hopes of catching up in the title race and reclaiming the La Liga trophy they had snatched from Real Madrid last season.

The match started with Barcelona's Andreas Christensen scoring a goal in the sixth minute. Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior equalized with a penalty (18').

Barca regained the lead through Fermin Lopez in the 69th minute, but Madrid's Lucas Vazquez quickly responded to level the score once again (73'). The game was ultimately decided by Jude Bellingham's stoppage-time winner, propelling Real Madrid closer to their record-extending 36th La Liga crown.

Tennis stars Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, and Iga Swiatek were present at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu to witness the thrilling encounter. La Liga's official social media account shared photos of Nadal and Alcaraz enjoying the match.

Swiatek also took to social media to post a picture of herself enjoying the game with her physiotherapist Maciej Ryszczuk. She expressed her gratitude to the Polish drinks brand Oshee, of which she is a global ambassador, for inviting them to the match.

"El Clasico @realmadrid. Thanks a lot for this experience @OSHEE_OFFICIAL #halamadrid," Iga Swiatek posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Carlos Alcaraz set for title defense, Iga Swiatek seeded first at Madrid Open 2024; Rafael Nadal makes potential final appearance

Carlos Alcaraz will defend his title at the 2024 Madrid Open. Last year's runner-up Iga Swiatek is seeded first in the tournament. Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal may make his final appearance on the red clay in Madrid.

Last year, two-time defending champion Alcaraz defeated Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals and Borna Coric in the semifinals to advance to the final. In the championship match, the Spaniard overcame German lucky loser Jan-Lennard Struff 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to successfully defend his title, claim his 10th tour-level title, and secure his fourth ATP Masters 1000 title.

On the other hand, Swiatek triumphed over Petra Martic in the quarterfinals and Veronika Kudermetova in the semifinals to reach the final. However, her winning streak was halted by Aryna Sabalenka , who defeated her 3-6, 6-3, 3-6 in the championship match.

This year, Iga Swiatek is the top seed and will kick off her campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye. She is slated to face either Wang Xiyu or Ana Bogdan in the second round, with a potential matchup against Elina Svitolina or Victoria Azarenka in the fourth round.

As for Rafael Nadal, this year's Madrid Open could see him making his final appearance at the tournament. He has clinched the Madrid title a record five times, with his last title win coming in 2017 after he defeated Dominic Thiem in the final.

¡Y Ancelotti!

Lamine Yamal y Toni Kroos / Real Madrid - FC Barcelona

Lamine Yamal y Toni Kroos / Real Madrid - FC Barcelona / Valentí Enrich
