What is a travel agency.

A travel agency supports a team of travel advisors who sell, curate and book travel. Travel advisors consult with clients on where to go, what to do and where to stay. In addition to planning and booking trips, advisors communicate with hotels and other partners (tour companies, cruises, etc.) to ensure each trip goes smoothly.

What is the difference between a travel advisor and a travel agent?

The terms travel agent and travel advisor are used interchangeably. The original term was ‘travel agent,’ but the industry has gone through a bit of a rebrand to showcase the breadth of work that a travel advisor does. We use both, but typically refer to our network of travel advisors simply as Fora Advisors.

What if my agency already uses an online booking tool.

Agents can use Expedia TAAP to access competitive rates and book and earn a commission alongside other online booking platforms. The benefit with Expedia TAAP is the more you book, the greater your earned commission and the higher your agency tiering.

What if I don’t have a technical product team? Which solution is right for my business?

Expedia TAAP does not require any technical product resource on the partner side, as it serves as an online booking tool. Our other solutions will require some technical integration support.

How long does it take to be approved and onboarded?

This depends on the solution. Expedia TAAP is a plug-and-play online booking tool. Registrations are reviewed within 48 hours, and, once approved, you get access to the booking tool and online learning resources.
