This was a wonderful adventure. Seeing the wildlife - elephants, orang-utans, crocodiles turtle hatclings, proboscis monkeys etc was amazing. Experiencing local village life was very special. Loved all of it.

Real Borneo
Awesome adveturous tour. Includes jungle stay (pic above) where we went spotlighting wildlife at night, slept in a tree house, planted trees for reforestation and went out on the river to look for monkeys and orangutangs along the river banks. We also did a homestay. Due to the earth quake this year we couldnt climb kinabalu but we still did a very challenging trek through cave systems in the junlge and by doing this Geckos were making sure hte mountain guides weren't out of work while the mountain trails were repaired. Our guide was so knowledgable having grown up in the jungle since the age of 4. The country is full of wildlife, the people are friendly and the place is non touristy. Meals and beer were cheap. wifi in the country is dodgy. I would definately go back to see the other half of the country one day... My tip pack lots of quick dry sports clothing because the jungle is HOT! Our group was a good mix of international people, all young, fit, active and most importantly easy going!
Sandakan Orangutan Experience 4D/3N
The tour was great, very well organised, full of adventure and saw lots of things. Only thing is I think if it was organised by myself it would have cost a fraction of what the actual cost was however we used up some travel credits so we cannot complain as we were very well looked after.

Wildlife Holidays in Malaysia
Malaysia is separated by the South China Sea into two regions: Peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo.
The Federation of Malaysia is one of the region’s most important and rapidly developing nations, with an increasingly significant role in global politics. Despite the tremendous pace of industrial growth, the country has managed to preserve large tracts of forest which today are regarded as among the finest rainforest reserves in the world.

Excellent one day tour to Bukit Tinggi and Old Gombak Road. Loved Mr. Lee's demeanour - easy going, knowledgeable and with concern for safety (i.e. the driving) and punctuality plus not least the ability to adjust the tour to the level of the birder. There's nothing worse if you are a serious birder to have a guide who's got different ambitions for the day. All these traits are quality characteristics for any bird guide, and Endemic Guides and Mr. Lee passed with flying colours. Of course in addition to the above, the birds were fantastic, bagging some seriously good birds on top of the targets for the day. Well worth the money all around.

What the Trip is Like
The trip is Level 2+, Easy to Moderate , according to our trip grading system. For your own enjoyment, we recommend you make a special effort to be in good physical condition. We've crafted an active expedition, with nature walks and light hikes of two to five hours on several days, in hot and humid climate, and over a variety of terrain including forest trails, cave passages, and wooden canopy walks and boardwalks.
The terrain is relatively flat but the forest floor can be slippery and uneven (especially with tree roots!), and the trails in the Danum Valley include hills. We also explore Borneo's jungles and river wetlands by speedboats and longboats. Our explorations are timed with wildlife activity, so dawn, dusk and nighttime nature excurisons are a highlight of the trip, but you will need to be prepared for long days.

Trip Levels
With more than 200 different adventures to choose from, we want to help you find the trip that’s right for you. Our Trip Level system ranks each trip in two ways: a number rating from 1 to 6 according to the activity, and general travel rigors. 1 is the easiest and 6+ the most difficult—see descriptions below for explanations of each number. A plus (+) sign means the trip is a bit more strenuous than other trips of that level. The detailed explanation of each trip—below the bar with the number rating—is perhaps more important, specifying activities, altitudes, hiking, and travel conditions. The Detailed Itinerary, available by download or mail, gives further information. Our Area Managers can also answer questions and guide you to the trip that best suits your interests.
