Step out onto your private deck to admire the views as you prepare for an optional Tai Chi exercise class from a certified master to get the blood flowing and stretch out your body for the exciting day ahead. A team of internationally-trained chefs prepare an innovative mix of both Chinese and western dishes starting with a buffet breakfast consisting of an endless array of options to choose from. Start the day with breakfast your way… every day with dietary restrictions always taken into consideration. Spend the morning sailing past Qutang Gorge with its steep precipices, narrow canyons, and high mountains and then onto Wu Gorge, home to the famous 12 peaks of the Wushan Mountains before enjoying a delicious buffet lunch with an opportunity to try something new or perhaps indulge in an old favorite. Refreshed from lunch, you have the opportunity to head out for a unique ride along the Shennong Stream on a sampan – a traditional longboat rowed by expert Tujia boatmen… as you gently float past this stunning riverine gorge flanked by verdant forest. After a day filled with unprecedented scenery, enjoy some time to yourself as you attend various presentations onboard including a Chinese brush painting and calligraphy class or perhaps a massage in one of the six uniquely designed oriental private treatment rooms. The many lounges and bars onboard offer the perfect locations to sit and chat with new friends. Sanctuary Yangtze Explorer is a super 5-star cruise with 5-star service on Yangtze, boasts the largest standard cabins on the Yangtze River. Each identical deluxe cabin features floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opening to a private exterior balcony.

Yangtze Explorer has fresh and different experiences that different from the regular cruise companies which allow you to acknowledge about history-steep cities with exciting rural stories along the Yangtze, it combines two highlights tour: Shennong Stream excursion, including the sampan boat experience, will be further enhanced by addition of a visit to a local river-side trackers village for a glimpse of traditional, rural Chinese life. And the second one is get a chance to visit ‘816 Underground Project’ , getting into the heart of a giant nuclear installation which the military started constructing in the mountains in the sixties.

For cruise on May 6, 2018, Yangtze Explorer offers the special exciting experience to appreciate the alpine azalea blossoms that cover the mountains in different colors into a fabulous splendor.

As the azalea appreciation is well arranged within the visit to Shennong Valley at Shennongjia on the day 2 , visitors would enjoy this “big wonderful show” there. On the occasion that is the best time to appreciate the alpine azalea flowers, multiple types of azaleas bloom fully from the altitude of 1500-3000 meters at Shennongjia, and the large area of thousands of meters long from Shennongding to Taiziya would be changed into an amazing sea of azalea blossoms. That is really a comfortable treat for your eyes and cameras. Besides the item of azalea appreciation on day 2, this itinerary is the same as that of the special upstream cruise of Shennongjia visit mentioned above, except the day 4. The itineraries, ports, departure & arrival time, shore excursions listed above are subject to change according to the weather, river condition and permission from the navigational authorities. Besides, activities onboard, dining and entertainment options vary and are subject to change.

2. Shore Excursions

The Yangtze Explorer cruise company will usually arrange three shore excursions during the whole cruise between Chongqing and Yichang. The ARRANGED shore excursions are included in your quotation, so you could visit the sites without extra charge. However, if you do not visit the sites, the fees of arranged shore excursion sites are not refunded.

As for optional shore excursion and show , travelers can decide to go or not based on your interests, real physical condition and budget. The optional sites will be visited depending on the number of travelers who want to go and the cost for the “Three Kingdom Open Air Show” is 290 RMB/person and Fuling White Crane Ridge Underwater Museum is 150 RMB/person for each. If you want to go, tell the reception desk who would register and arrange for you. If you decide not to go, you could stay on the ship to enjoy some leisure time. For your safety, you are not allowed to leave your ship on your own.

On the first day of embarkation, if you want to enjoy dinner onboard, it will need extra charge for the meal.

3. Physical Challenge

The shore excursions to “Fengdu Ghost City” and “Shibaozhai Pagoda” need some steps climbing and comfortable shoes are highly recommended! If you have problems with steps, you can choose to stay on the ship without joining in the excursions (If it is the arranged shore excursion by the cruise company, please note that there is no refund).
