Dolly Parton is performing at Ellis Theater. Here's how to get tickets to the show

Tickets for Dolly Parton's upcoming Philadelphia, Mississippi performances are just days away from becoming available to purchase and country music fans are already preparing for the big event.

The Congress of Country Music shared details on Facebook for the fundraising event at Ellis Theater at the end of August, announcing that the "9 to 5" singer will give two full shows.

Proceeds from the event will go to support Dolly’s Imagination Library and the Congress of Country Music.

If fans are unable to get tickets next week, there will also be a chance to reserve a spot at the outdoor Dolly Party and Dollytron viewing area.

Here's what to know about tickets and the highly anticipated event.

When do tickets go on sale?

The link for tickets will go live Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 9 a.m. CT on the Congress of Country Music website and on its Facebook page .

For those who don't want to purchase online, tickets will also be available in person starting Tuesday at the Ellis Theater box office.

"However, tickets may be sold out and not available upon your arrival. We do encourage you to use the ticketing link for fastest access," the Congress of Country Music posted on their Facebook page, adding that the theater is limited to 500 seats.

How much will tickets cost?

According to the Congress of Country Music, tickets will range from $350 to $3,500 with a limit of four per person.

For $35, fans can attain access to the Dolly Party and Dollytron viewing area, an outdoor event area broadcasting the live performance with food and drink vendors.

"Outdoor viewing will take place rain or shine. PLEASE BRING YOUR CHAIR!! We do ask that you not make a large blanketed area or pallet. We want everyone to be able to have a seat," the organization advised.

When will the performances be?

The country music icon will take the Ellis Theater stage Saturday, Aug. 26 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. for two full performances with no opening act.

Fans will choose which show to attend at the time of ticket purchase.

There are currently no plans for a meet and greet.

Exclusive: Dolly Parton Announces 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL National Tour Launching Fall 2022

This will mark the UK production's North American debut.

Work Light Productions announced today that the all-new production of 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL featuring a book by Patricia Resnick, the famed film's original screenwriter, and an original Oscar, Grammy and Tony award-nominated score by country legend and pop icon Dolly Parton, will premiere in North America in the fall of 2022 as it kicks off a multiyear tour around the continent. This production of 9 to 5 THE MUSICAL opened to critical and audience acclaim at the West End's Savoy Theatre before touring around the United Kingdom and premiering in Australia at Sydney's Capitol Theatre earlier this year.

"9 to 5 has always been near and dear to my heart. It's a story about standing by yourself, standing by your friends and standing by other women. I had so much fun making it," said country singer and Pop icon Dolly Parton. "I'm thrilled that 9 to 5 is returning to the US after such an incredible response from audiences across the world."

"We are thrilled to bring this iconic story to audiences across the U.S.," said Work Light Productions president, Stephen Gabriel. "Dolly Parton's incredible music emboldens this important story of elevating the female voice in a male-dominated work environment. It is as relevant today as it was several decades ago."

A multi-city tour schedule beginning in the fall of 2022 will be announced later this spring.

About 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL

9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy-three co-workers pushed to their boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss. Concocting a plan to kidnap and turn the tables on their despicable supervisor, will the women manage to reform their office-or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit? Inspired by the cult film, this hilarious new production is about teaming up, standing up and taking care of business!

9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL is directed by Jeff Calhoun, with choreography by Lisa Stevens, design by Tom Rogers, lighting design by Howard Hudson, video design by Nina Dunn, and musical supervision, arrangements and orchestrations by Mark Crossland.

The West End cast recording is available to download or purchase on Spotify or Amazon.

Based on the 20th Century Fox Picture, the North American tour is produced by Work Light Productions in association with Ambassador Theatre Group Productions with Gavin Kalin Productions. The musical was originally produced on Broadway by Robert Greenblatt, April 2009.

Dolly Parton kicks off the Dollywood 2023-2024 season

Dolly Parton opened the 2023-2024 Dollywood season in style as she took to the stage at the Dolly Parton Celebrity Theater on March 10, 2023.

Dolly shared details for the park’s current season, including two big projects that will be completed by the end of 2023: the highly-anticipated Big Bear Mountain roller coaster, which will open in May 2023 (a specific opening date will be announced soon), and Dollywood’s new resort, HeartSong Lodge & Resort , which will begin taking reservations in June for it’s grand opening in November 2023.

State-of-the-Art Experience Opening in 2024

The legendary singer/songwriter also surprised guests with an announcement of a state-of-the-art “The Dolly Parton Experience” coming to the park in 2024 to showcase her life and career. This new attraction will take the place of the former “Chasing Rainbows” museum.

“I think everyone knows that I try to dream big dreams no matter what I’m doing,” Parton explained, “With everything happening at my Dollywood this year, this may be some of my biggest dreaming yet! We’re going to open a BIG ride and a BIG resort, even the calendar got bigger this year!”

Dollywood 2023-2024 Season Festivals

Guests and media were also treated to a live musical performance of Dolly’s hit song “I Will Always Love You” sung by none other than Parton herself.

“They’re starting the year with the I Will Always Love You Celebration, which is something that is very humbling to me,” she continued. “The song has been a very special part of my life and career, but I never thought about them celebrating it at Dollywood. I told them they didn’t need to do it, but when they explained it would be a celebration of songwriting and the talents of songwriters, I knew it would be something truly special.”

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.--( BUSINESS WIRE )--During today’s annual Season Passholder and Media Preview Day, Dolly Parton unveiled several pieces of information that Dollywood fans have been longing to hear for quite some time.

Dollywood’s 2023 season certainly is shaping up to be one of the busiest years in the park’s history. Two impressive projects—the Big Bear Mountain roller coaster and Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort—are both scheduled for completion this year. During the event, Parton announced Big Bear Mountain’s opening occurs in May, while bookings for HeartSong Lodge & Resort start in June with stays beginning in November.

In addition to kicking off Dollywood’s 38 th season, Parton was able to experience the I Will Always Love You Celebration, an event that honors the 50 th anniversary of her writing of the iconic song. She also unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art guest attraction that showcases her legendary life and career. The experience is planned for a 2024 opening in the area surrounding and including the former Chasing Rainbows museum.

Naughton echoed Parton’s thoughts about the year, sharing why Dollywood’s 2023 season is a prime example of why the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, park continues to place among the best in the industry.

“Over the last several years, Dollywood Parks & Resorts has really elevated into the upper tier of theme park destinations in the country,” Naughton explained. “Just last season we were named the #1 theme park in the United States by Tripadvisor based on actual guest reviews of their time at our properties. With this increased attention comes more guests who are looking to visit a destination outside of the traditional family vacation destinations that have been popular for a number of years. We offer a truly different experience at Dollywood, and with the beauty of the surrounding Smoky Mountains attracting even more guests, we’re poised for record growth over the next several years. Big Bear Mountain, as well as HeartSong Lodge & Resort, allow us to take care of our guests in a way that only we can.”

Big Bear Mountain adds to Dollywood’s already impressive portfolio of world-class roller coasters. At $25 million, the ride is the largest single attraction investment ever at Dollywood, while its 3,990 ft. length makes it the longest roller coaster at the park as well. The ride also features on-board audio, a first at Dollywood, along with plenty of thrilling moments, including three separate launches, multiple airtime hills, high-speed carousel turns and tunnels, including a pass behind a waterfall. Big Bear Mountain features a 39” height requirement and takes guests to a top speed of 48 mph.

The 302-room HeartSong Lodge & Resort, the newest element of the company’s growing hospitality program, provides a space of awe and inspiration for guests thanks to thoughtful details that await around every turn. From spacious accommodations to well-planned amenities, guests can enjoy a variety of spaces to recharge and relax. Dolly Parton celebrates 'BIG' 2023 season at Dollywood

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WCYB) — Dollywood is now open for the 2023 season, and Dolly Parton made a special visit to the park to announce exciting new projects.

Dollywood will unveil two major projects in 2023. The HeartSong Lodge & Resort will open with more than 300 rooms in November, with bookings for the resort to begin in June.

A new roller-coaster, Big Bear Mountain , is also on track to open in May 2023.

In addition to kicking off Dollywood's 38th season, Parton was able to experience the I Will Always Love You Celebration, an event that honors the 50th anniversary of her writing the iconic song. She also unveiled the Dolly Parton Experience, an interactive experience and museum that is expected to open in 2024.

The addition includes a Faith & Family experience, wardrobe experience, immersive experience, and Tennessee Mountain Home exhibit.

WCYB's Kristen Quon was there Friday as the theme park opened up its season and had a special one-on-one interview with Dolly Parton. Quon and Parton discussed Dollywood, her new rock n' roll album, new projects and more.

Kristen : Celebrating 50 years of the song, "I Will Always Love You," how much does that song mean to you to this day?

Dolly : That song will always mean something to me because when I wrote the song it really came straight from my heart. It was at the time when I was leaving the Porter Wagner show, which I had been there for many years. We had our ups and our downs and I just wanted to get on with my life and I knew it was just one of those things, it was more about partnership, then it was about romance at the time. The people have loved that song. They say they've sang it at funerals, they've sang it at weddings, when partnerships do break up, and so I've written different versions of it. Of course, I had a number one song with it twice, a number one chart record, when we did the best little whore house, and then its original when it came out 50 years ago. And then I had a top 10 duet with Vince Gill and Whitney, and different people...always singing it with different people on different shows. So I'm just really proud of it, and it's just hard to believe its 50 years old. Its lasted. Its one of those songs I'm very grateful for...any songwriter that's the kind of song that you want to have two or three of them in your catalogue because that can keep food on your table...for years if you can get two or three of them. So I'm very grateful for the song.

Kristen : Is it true that Elvis Presley wanted to record it?

Dolly : Elvis wanted to record it, but Colonel Tom Parker said he had to have half the publishing and I said , I can't do that, and I think Elvis was as disappointed as I was... but anyhow I did write a song, and right after that and I had a guy who sounds like Elvis sing on the song so I could see how it sounds, and its going to be on my rock and roll album. Its called 'I dreamed about Elvis.' When my rock album comes out in the Fall, it kind of tells the story of how Elvis didn't do 'I Will Always Love You', but still got to sing in a dream.

Kristen : Yes! Your Rock N' Roll album...how has that project been going and what have you most enjoyed about that?

Dolly : Well I've just enjoyed just to get the chance to do it. I had always thought I would do a rock album, but it really didn't make that much sense, and that's why I didn't want to be in the rock n' roll hall of fame, because I didn't think I'd earned the right to do that, but then when they put me in anyway, I thought, well timing is everything, so I decided I would do a rock n' roll album, and I've done a lot of great iconic songs, with a lot of great iconic singers, a lot of the same iconic dingers that were on the iconic songs and so I think its going to be well appreciated and I'm proud of it as anything that I've ever done.

Kristen : I know you made a lot of announcements today at the press conference....but lets talk about the Dolly Parton experience coming in 2024, what does it mean to you to have that in the park? That shows your faith, and family?

Dolly : We've always had the Chasing Rainbows museum here, early on, and we had that up until last year, we took it out so we could really expand because it was too small of an area, so we thought we would make it into something even greater, more of an experience, because I've lived a lot since I had the small museum that I first started with, so it really encompasses more of everything that I have done through the years and I think that people will really enjoy it and I'm very proud of it. The people working on it are working very hardand its an experience, that's a good word for it. I think the fans will really experience me, all the things they like about the park and my career in a different way, and I think it will be easier to explore, easier to see, more movement, more space to move around, more things to explore and I think they are going to really like it. I'm sure hoping so.

Kristen : The traffic is always huge in this area, in Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. I'm sure you remember a time when it was much smaller. What's it like for you to drive through Pigeon Forge and Sevierville and see it today?

Dolly: I want to kick my own butt sometimes because of the traffic! But actually they built a lot of roads and ways to get around easier since we opened, but it makes me proud to know we have something this successful, because it brings a lot of tourists to the area, not just for Dollywood, they often go to Gatlinburg they go to the Smokies...sometimes they are going to the Smokies and come back to see us, so it doesn't matter, we feel like Gatlinburg, Sevierville, and the Great Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge, we're all kind of one. We're all a great big family, but we do hate to have to go through that traffic...even me when I come home, I think 'Lord lets get out of this traffic,' so I try to plan my coming home when I see my family in early mornings and plan the times. But that's a wonderful problem to have as they say.

Kristen ; You’ve done so much in your life and your career.is there anything that is on your bucket list?

Dolly : Well I figure whatever it is is something comes to my mind that I want to do, I'll get off my bucket and do it! I'm one of those people if I have something on my mind that I want to do, then I'll get it done, but so far I've done pretty much everything I've wanted to do. I used to want to go to the Holy Lands with my mom and my grandfather who was a preacher and my great Dorothy Jo, that's a trip I always wished we would have done, but just about the time we started to take that trip there was a lot of turmoil in that area, and we said 'lets not go now,' and then I started losing them and so I never got to do that, so maybe one of these days I'll go over to the Holy lands.

Dolly Parton Kicks Off 2023 Season at Dollywood, Announces Opening Details For Upcoming Projects

During today’s annual Season Passholder and Media Preview Day, Dolly Parton unveiled several pieces of information that Dollywood fans have been longing to hear for quite some time.

Dollywood’s 2023 season certainly is shaping up to be one of the busiest years in the park’s history. Two impressive projects—the Big Bear Mountain roller coaster and Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort—are both scheduled for completion this year. During the event, Parton announced Big Bear Mountain’s opening occurs in May, while bookings for HeartSong Lodge & Resort start in June with stays beginning in November.

In addition to kicking off Dollywood’s 38 th  season, Parton was able to experience the I Will Always Love You Celebration, an event that honors the 50 th  anniversary of her writing of the iconic song. She also unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art guest attraction that showcases her legendary life and career. The experience is planned for a 2024 opening in the area surrounding and including the former Chasing Rainbows museum. 

“I think everyone knows that I try to dream big dreams no matter what I’m doing,” Parton explained, “and with everything happening at my Dollywood this year, this may be some of my biggest dreaming yet! We’re going to open a BIG ride and a BIG resort, even the calendar got bigger this year! Eugene (Naughton, Dollywood Parks & Resort President) better get ready for my next big dreams because everybody knows I like trying to outdo myself! But seriously, this is going to be a really special year for all of our guests here at Dollywood.”

“They’re also starting the year with the I Will Always Love You Celebration, which is something that is very humbling to me,” she continued. “The song has been a very special part of my life and career, but I never thought about them celebrating it at Dollywood. I told them they didn’t need to do it, but when they explained it would be a celebration of songwriting and the talents of songwriters, I knew it would be something truly special.”   

Naughton echoed Parton’s thoughts about the year, sharing why Dollywood’s 2023 season is a prime example of why the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, park continues to place among the best in the industry.

“Over the last several years, Dollywood Parks & Resorts has really elevated into the upper tier of theme park destinations in the country,” Naughton explained. “Just last season we were named the #1 theme park in the United States by Tripadvisor based on actual guest reviews of their time at our properties. With this increased attention comes more guests who are looking to visit a destination outside of the traditional family vacation destinations that have been popular for a number of years. We offer a truly different experience at Dollywood, and with the beauty of the surrounding Smoky Mountains attracting even more guests, we’re poised for record growth over the next several years. Big Bear Mountain, as well as HeartSong Lodge & Resort, allow us to take care of our guests in a way that only we can.”

Big Bear Mountain adds to Dollywood’s already impressive portfolio of world-class roller coasters. At $25 million, the ride is the largest single attraction investment ever at Dollywood, while its 3,990 ft. length makes it the longest roller coaster at the park as well. The ride also features on-board audio, a first at Dollywood, along with plenty of thrilling moments, including three separate launches, multiple airtime hills, high-speed carousel turns and tunnels, including a pass behind a waterfall. Big Bear Mountain features a 39” height requirement and takes guests to a top speed of 48 mph.

The 302-room HeartSong Lodge & Resort, the newest element of the company’s growing hospitality program, provides a space of awe and inspiration for guests thanks to thoughtful details that await around every turn. From spacious accommodations to well-planned amenities, guests can enjoy a variety of spaces to recharge and relax. HeartSong Lodge & Resort is the perfect complement to Dollywood’s first-in-class resort property, Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa. The resort also features the HeartSong Meeting and Event Center which features 26,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor meeting space. If growing Dollywood Parks & Resorts with both a thrilling new roller coaster and a world-class resort isn’t enough to prove 2023 is the biggest season ever, the park operating calendar grows this year with an additional 21 days of operation as compared to the 2022 calendar.

The I Will Always Love You Celebration takes place now through April 8, kicking off the season with a festive event commemorating the art of songwriting and the stories behind the songs. To celebrate the power of songwriting and storytelling, guests can enjoy a special lineup of performances each Saturday throughout the event in DP’s Celebrity Theater. The Celebrity Concert Series includes Natalie Grant (March 11); Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder (March 18); Jo Dee Messina (March 25); Larry, Steve & Rudy: The Gatlin Brothers (April 1); and Lauren Alaina (April 8). All concerts are included with park admission.

Dollywood’s Flower & Food Festival presented by Covenant Health (April 21-June 11) blooms bright with vivid, larger-than-life flower sculptures that feature more than half-a-million blooms during this stunning event. In addition, Dollywood’s culinary team showcases their world-class abilities with a menu full of delicacies that highlight the tastes of spring in the Smokies.

Dollywood’s Sweet Summer Nights drone and fireworks show has become a guest highlight, and it again takes to the skies above Dollywood in 2023 as part of Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration (June 17-August 6). Another favorite—”Gazillion Bubble Show: Aurora”—returns to deliver a mesmerizing “pop” of excitement to guests in DP’s Celebrity Theater.

A family tradition for many, Dollywood’s Harvest Festival presented by Humana (Sept. 20-Oct. 30) celebrates the beauty of fall with thousands of carved pumpkins, spirited performances from talented singers and the fun of Great Pumpkin LumiNights presented by Covenant Health. Great Pumpkin LumiNights, which previously has been named the best theme park harvest event in the world, features elaborate displays that are fun for every member of the family. Creative culinary items, accomplished artisans, and fall fun in the Smokies make this a picture-perfect time to enjoy Dollywood.

The industry’s Best Theme Park Christmas event—Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas presented by Humana (Nov. 4- Jan. 6, 2024)—concludes the park’s 2023 season with 6 million lights, festive holiday shows, and the warm Christmas atmosphere guests have come to expect during this joyous time of year.
