Faith No More cancel all 2022 tour dates

After cancelling their U.S. dates, Faith No More have announced that planned shows in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe have also been scrapped.

Faith No More cancel all 2022 tour dates

After announcing in September that they'd be scrapping their upcoming U.S. tour dates, Faith No More have now announced that all planned shows for 2022 have been cancelled.

Vocalist Mike Patton had previously said that "due to mental health reasons, I cannot continue with the currently scheduled Faith No More and Mr. Bungle dates", with the band supporting his decision to cancel touring plans: "We believe that forging ahead with these dates would have had a profoundly destructive effect on Mike, whose value to us as a brother means more to us than his job as singer," they wrote.

"He can count on our 100 per cent support to do what he needs to do to get things right. Just as we also ask for your support right now."

In a new statement posted on December 10, FNM confirm that it's not just U.S. dates that are affected, but also Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe, too.

"Unfortunately due to our current challenges, we aren’t going to be ready to perform for the upcoming Australian, New Zealand and UK / European tours," they state. "To play at anything less than 100 per cent after so long is not an option for us. We apologise to all of you ticket holders, and are forever grateful to our fans for your support and understanding."

Kerrang! sends our best wishes to Mike and the rest of the band.

Mike Patton Cancels Faith No More Tour Dates Due to Mental Health Reasons

Mike Patton

Mike Patton has canceled upcoming tour dates for Faith No More , set to begin this Thursday in Missouri, citing mental health reasons. The dates would have marked Faith No More’s first American tour in five years. Patton has also canceled upcoming tour dates for Mr. Bungle . Read statements from Patton and the band, including impacted dates, below.

“We believe that forging ahead with these dates would have had a profoundly destructive effect on Mike, whose value to us as a brother means more to us than his job as singer,” Faith No More wrote in their statement. “He can count on our 100% support to do what he needs to do to get things right. Just as we also ask for your support right now.”

Mike Patton:

Sorry to report that due to mental health reasons, I cannot continue with the currently scheduled Faith No More and Mr. Bungle dates. I have issues that were exacerbated by the pandemic that are challenging me right now. I don’t feel I can give what I should at this point and I am not going to give anything less than 100 percent. I am sorry to our fans and hope to make it up to you soon. The bands’ support me in this decision and we look forward to working through this in a healthy way.

Faith No More’s Billy Gould, Jon Hudson, Mike Bordin, and Roddy Bottum:

To say that we feel shattered by these cancellations would be a complete understatement. It has been a real challenge to return to this music after a 5 year absence, but we have been working hard for a few months now, and these last few rehearsals left no doubt that we were back to top form, which makes this statement very difficult to write. Coming on almost two years of pandemic and lack of work, it has been heartbreaking to give our crew the news. We consider our crew like family. And then, equally importantly, we are aware of what this means to our fans, who have been patiently supporting us—hoping, as we have, for a break in this frustrating situation. Many folks have taken isolation quite hard, and patiently waited as shows have been postponed time and time again. This will be tough for them. And yet in spite of all this, we have a family member who needs help. We believe that forging ahead with these dates would have had a profoundly destructive effect on Mike, whose value to us as a brother means more to us than his job as singer. He can count on our 100% support to do what he needs to do to get things right. Just as we also ask for your support right now. Thank you for continuing to believe in us.

Faith No More + Mr. Bungle Cancel Tour Dates, Mike Patton to Focus on His Mental Health

Faith No More and Mr. Bungle have canceled a number of 2021 U.S. tour dates. The cancelations are due to mental health reasons, with Mike Patton explaining he is suffering from “issues that were exacerbated by the pandemic.”

Faith No More and Mr. Bungle were both scheduled to play this year’s Riot Fest around Faith No More’s September and October tour dates. Mr. Bungle were also meant to play an intimate Chicago gig after Riot Fest, but that gig has also been canceled.

“Sorry to report that due to mental health reasons, I cannot continue with the currently scheduled Faith No More and Mr. Bungle dates,” Patton explains. “I have issues that were exacerbated by the pandemic that are challenging me right now. I don’t feel I can give what I should at this point and I am not going to give anything less than 100 percent. I am sorry to our fans and hope to make it up to you soon. The bands’ support me in this decision and we look forward to working through this in a healthy way."

Faith No More also issued a statement on the canceled shows:

To say that we feel shattered by these cancellations would be a complete understatement. It has been a real challenge to return to this music after a 5 year absence, but we have been working hard for a few months now, and these last few rehearsals left no doubt that we were back to top form, which makes this statement very difficult to write. Coming on almost two years of pandemic and lack of work, it has been heartbreaking to give our crew the news. We consider our crew like family. And then, equally importantly, we are aware of what this means to our fans, who have been patiently supporting us-- hoping, as we have, for a break in this frustrating situation. - Bill, Jon, Mike B. & Roddy

The canceled tour dates include:

Faith No More:

Sept. 16 - Maryland Heights, Mo. @ Saint Louis Music Park Sept. 18 - Chicago, Ill. @ Riot Fest Sept. 21 - Pittsburgh, Pa. @ Stage AE Sept. 22 - Newport, Ky. @ Ovation Pavilion Sept. 24 - Kansas City, Mo. @ Grinders Sept. 25 - Indianola, Iowa @ Knotfest Oct. 10 - Sacramento, Calif. @ Aftershock Festival Oct. 15 - Las Vegas, Nev. @ T-Mobile Arena Oct. 16 - Fresno, Calif. @ Save Mart Center Oct. 18 - Oakland, Calif. @ Oakland Arena Oct. 22 - Los Angeles, Calif. @ Banc of California Stadium Oct. 23 - Los Angeles, Calif. @ Banc of California Stadium

Mr. Bungle:

Sept. 17 Chicago, Ill. @ Radius Sept. 19 Chicago, Ill. @ Riot Fest

“If I could sing through a fuckin’ mask, I’d wear one the rest of my life,” Patton told Loudwire in 2020 . “Being present, being in the moment, is hard. Based on a few things that have gone on in my life, it’s made it easier to do that. One of which is the pandemic. Wait a second, do I want to numb out? Do I want to be drunk during all of this? This is history, man! We’ve never seen anything like this and hopefully we never will again, but I wanna be here for this, I wanna experience it. As much as it sucks, living it is the most important thing. I think about that all the time.”

We’d like to commend Mike Patton for focusing on his mental health during this trying time. Stay tuned for updates on Faith No More and Mr. Bungle’s touring plans.

Faith No More, Mr. Bungle Cancel Concerts as Mike Patton Tends to His Mental Health

By Kory Grow

Faith No More and Mr. Bungle, two bands fronted by Mike Patton , have canceled all of their planned September and October concerts.

“Sorry to report that due to mental health reasons, I cannot continue with the currently scheduled Faith No More and Mr. Bungle dates,” Patton said in a statement. “I have issues that were exacerbated by the pandemic that are challenging me right now. I don’t feel I can give what I should at this point, and I am not going to give anything less than 100%. I am sorry to our fans and hope to make it up to you soon. The bands support me in this decision, and we look forward to working through this in a healthy way.”

The four other members of Faith No More — Billy Gould, Roddy Bottum, Jon Hudson, and Mike Bordin — issued a joint statement saying they felt “shattered” by the decision. “It has been a real challenge to return to this music after a five-year absence, but we have been working hard for a few months now, and these last few rehearsals left no doubt that we were back to top form, which makes this statement very difficult to write,” they said. “Coming on almost two years of pandemic and lack of work, it has been heartbreaking to give our crew the news. We consider our crew like family. And then, equally importantly, we are aware of what this means to our fans, who have been patiently supporting us — hoping, as we have, for a break in this frustrating situation. Many folks have taken isolation quite hard and patiently waited as shows have been postponed time and time again. This will be tough for them.

“And yet in spite of all this, we have a family member who needs help,” they continued. “We believe that forging ahead with these dates would have had a profoundly destructive effect on Mike, whose value to us as a brother means more to us than his job as singer. He can count on our 100% support to do what he needs to do to get things right. Just as we also ask for your support right now. Thank you for continuing to believe in us.”

The impacted dates include appearances by both bands at this weekend’s Riot Fest; the event recently saw headliner Nine Inch Nails drop off the bill over concerns related to the spread of Covid-19. Organizers replaced Nine Inch Nails’ sets with an appearance by Slipknot. Rise Against have joined the lineup where Faith No More were to play, and Anthrax, whose Scott Ian plays in Mr. Bungle, will now fill in for the Bungle appearance.

faith no more tour cancelled

Faith No More have cancelled all of their 2022 tour dates.

The five members—Mike Patton, Billy Gould, Roddy Bottum, Jon Hudson and Mike Bordin—issued a joint statement this morning (December 10) confirming their twice rescheduled gigs won't take place.

"An update from our camp at FNM: Unfortunately due to our current challenges, we aren’t going to be ready to perform for the upcoming Australian, New Zealand and UK/European tours. "To play at anything less than 100% after so long is not an option for us. We apologise to all of you ticket holders, and are forever grateful to our fans for your support and understanding."

Back in September, Patton pulled Faith No More and Mr. Bungle’s North American shows, citing pre-existing "issues" that were proving a challenge for him.

Faith No More have cancelled all their scheduled upcoming gigs, including 2022 tours of Australia/New Zealand, and the UK, and a European festival run.

In a statement shared on their website and social media channels, the band say: “Unfortunately due to our current challenges, we aren’t going to be ready to perform for the upcoming Australian, New Zealand and UK/European tours. In September the band were forced to cancel planned shows in the US , as frontman Mike Patton required time to deal with mental health concerns. “I have issues that were exacerbated by the pandemic that are challenging me right now,” Patton said in his statement. “I don’t feel I can give what I should at this point and I am not going to give anything less than 100 percent. I am sorry to our fans and hope to make it up to you soon.”

“We have a family member who needs help,” the band said at the time, admitting to feeling “shattered” at having to pull the dates. “We believe that forging ahead with these dates would have had a profoundly destructive effect on Mike, whose value to us as a brother means more to us than his job as singer. He can count on our 100% support to do what he needs to do to get things right. Just as we also ask for your support right now.”

The band had been set to kick off their 2022 live commitments in Christchurch, New Zealand on February 10.

Back in September, Mike Patton announced that he’d cancelled his forthcoming Faith No More and Mr. Bungle tour dates , citing mental health reasons.

Recommended

It is not clear yet if Faith No More’s latest tour cancellation is related to these ongoing issues or the COVID-19 pandemic. NME has reached out to Faith No More’s representatives for comment.

The singer revealed via a statement posted by Ipecac Recordings in September that some pre-existing “issues” he’s been suffering from were “exacerbated by the pandemic” and they are now proving a challenge for him.

“Sorry to report that due to mental health reasons, I cannot continue with the currently scheduled Faith No More and Mr. Bungle dates,” Patton’s message began.

“I have issues that were exacerbated by the pandemic that are challenging me right now. I don’t feel I can give what I should at this point and I am not going to give anything less than 100 percent. I am sorry to our fans and hope to make it up to you soon.”

He concluded: “The bands support me in this decision and we look forward to working through this in a healthy way.”

Faith No More were one of the first acts confirmed for next year’s NOS Alive festival, alongside the likes of Imagine Dragons, Royal Blood and more .

Faith No More have cancelled their Australian tour

It was to be their first headline tour in 25 years

Faith No More have today cancelled their Australian tour, which was originally slated for 2020 and then rescheduled for 2022.

The band offered the following statement.

"Unfortunately, due to our current challenges, we aren’t going to be ready to perform for the upcoming Australian, New Zealand and European tours.

"To play at anything less than 100 percent after so long is not an option for us.

"We apologise to all of you ticket holders, and are forever grateful to our fans for your support and understanding."

Ticket buyers will receive an automatic refund to their credit card. If you purchased tickets at an outlet or using gift vouchers, you can request a refund through the vendor .

Faith No More have again been forced to postpone their Australian tour, with the legendary band now set to visit Australia in February of 2022.

This is the second time the band has pushed their dates back, with the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated travel restrictions to blame for the delays.

"Once again in this world of things being temporarily out of our control, we are having to postpone our AU/NZ dates," the band said in a statement.  "Postponed and not cancelled being the silver lining here and we’re grateful for that.

"We intend on making it up to you only at a time when things are safe for ALL of us. Until then, thanks for sticking this out with us and take care. We're all in this together and when it happens we promise to make it special."

This will be the first time since 1997 that the band have embarked on a headline tour of Australia.

The band's two most recent visits were as headliners of the 2010 and 2015 Soundwave festivals.

Both tours reassured fans that the band are still a formidable live force and saw them play setlists packed with songs from throughout their illustrious career.

This time around, fans in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth will have the chance to see the Faith No More live show in all its glory.

Mike Bordin and Billy Gould started playing music together in the late 1970s, before settling on the first incarnation of Faith No More in the early 80s.

After various singers performed short-lived stints out the front of the band, frontman Chuck Mosley joined the ranks for their debut album We Care A Lot and its follow- up Introduce Yourself .

But Faith No More as we know them really solidified in 1988 when a young Mike Patton assumed the role of frontman and helped the band become one of the most revered and popular bands of the fledgling alt-metal scene at the time.

His first record with Faith No More, The Real Thing , remains one of the most influential records in heavy music and each of the band's subsequent albums has been met with acclaim from both critics and fans.

They are not an easy band to categorise, with elements of metal, hip hop, punk, alt-rock and the very occasional foray into soft rock all part of the band's offering.

Joining them at all dates are one of the greatest rock'n'roll bands in the country right now, Melbourne's RVG .

If you've not yet had the pleasure of seeing this formidable four-piece, you'd better get to the show really early, because they are not to be missed. Romy Vager is an incredible songwriter and frontwoman and her band is watertight.

Their 2017 debut album A Quality Of Mercy is a must-have and, by the sounds of the single they released last year, their new material is going to be just as strong.

Who would have thought, but here we are, 11 years dead and now back...posting news again!! Along with revitalizing the band, we've been working on FNM.COM, and while it is still a work in progress, we also hope it can begin to serve as a main information point regarding tourdates, announcements, confirmations, tshirts...and all things Faith No More. As for now, and thanks to the good folks who created the original fnm.com, this will be functioning as a band run site. WIth this spirit, we're trying to keep our operation small, the theme of this site as simple as possible. There will be no marketing teams, record labels, PR firms involved in gathering your personal info; hopefully just real info passed along from us to you. There are lots of things coming up—especially new show announcements—so please try to check in every now and then for the latest. In the meantime, we'll leave you with our official statement:

Faith No More has always stood out as some sort of unique beast; part dog, part cat—its music almost as schizophrenic as the personalities of its members. When it all worked, it worked really well, even if the chemistry was always volatile. Throughout our 17years of existence, the mental and physical energy required to sustain this creature was considerable and relentless. Though amicable enough, when we finally split, we all followed paths seemingly destined to opposite ends of the universe.

Yet during the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we've experienced constant rumors and requests from fans and promoters alike. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, none of us kept in regular touch, much less to discuss any possibilities of getting together.

What's changed is that this year, for the first time, we've all decided to sit down together and talk about it. And what we've discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right.

Meanwhile we find ourselves at a moment in time with zero label obligations, still young and strong enough to deliver a kickass set, with enthusiasm to not only revisit our past but possibly add something to the present. And so with this we've decided to hold our collective breaths and jump off this cliff.... BACK, GOD FORBID, INTO THE MONKEY CAGE!!!

We can only hope that the experience of playing together again will yield results erratic and unpredictable enough to live up to the legacy of FNM. Who know where this will end or what it will bring up...only the future knows. But we are about to find out!

FAITH NO MORE are: Mike Bordin, Roddy Bottum, Bill Gould, Jon Hudson and Mike Patton

Faith No More [CANCELLED] at The Stage AE

Stage ae, pittsburgh, pennsylvania, event cancelled. please contact your ticket point of purchase to claim a refund on your tickets..

You gotta have faith! Influential alternative – metal band Faith No More has confirmed dates for their headlining tour, which includes the 21st September 2021, Tuesday, at the Stage AE. The band is stoked to be back on the road and mount the stage to face their fans. "We're excited to be able to play live again. Looking forward to that moment, all of us together, the smells, the sweat, the noise. Thanks for being patient. Bring it on!" And we're bringing you as close as you can get to tickets. The 'Get Tickets' link is just right up there. Go and make a quick booking and save your seats. Right here, right now!

Not all bands are created 'influential'. Only a chosen few can be bestowed with this lofty 'title'. Faith No More is one of the select few artists that can claim connection, significance, and substantiate their influence, not only on their fans but with fellow 'influential artists' as well. Nirvana bassist, and co-founder, Krist Novoselic cited Faith No More as a band that "paved the way for Nirvana". Corey Taylor (frontman for both Slipknot and Stone Sour) said he "wouldn't be here today" if it wasn't for Faith No More, whom he saw performing "Epic" live, during the time when he was recovering from a suicide attempt, and "the performance inspired him to begin writing and performing music again." Faith No More has also been named as a prime influence of nu-metal bands, such as Limp Bizkit, Korn, and Sevendust.

Credited as the inventors of the alternative metal genre, Tim Grierson of About.com said the band "helped put alternative metal on the map." Then fans and music critics alike voted Faith No More, placing them at No. 52 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock".

Faith No More was formed in 1979, in San Francisco, California. They have seven studio albums to their name, including their biggest-sellers "The Real Thing" (1989) and "Angel Dust" (1992). The band's original line-up consisted of Billy Gould on bass, Mike Bordin on drums, Mike “The Man” Morris on vocals, and keyboardist Wade Worthington. Break-ups, member changes, hiatus, reunion… Faith No More has been through all these ups and downs but fans always have unwavering faith in their music.

“When we split up,” Gould says, “we explored what we could do on our own. During that time, we each developed what was a natural part of ourselves. Now, coming back, we have a wider perspective so we can do things we didn’t even think of back in the day. If we were to decide to do a country western music, it would still sound like a Faith No More album. Together we have a strong collective identity, and when we work together it makes its own animal.”

Catch Faith No More at Stage AE on Tuesday 21st September 2021. Book your tickets now!

BY Megan LaPierre Published Aug 28, 2024

Los Angeles punks Bad Religion have announced the cancellation of their upcoming fall North American tour due to an "unforeseen family circumstance."

The band took to Instagram to share the news last night (August 27), writing, "Due to an unforeseen family circumstance, we are cancelling our upcoming fall tour. We apologize for any disappointment and disruption this may cause."

"We appreciate your understanding," they added, as well as directing ticketholders to point of purchase for refunds — and encouraging people to check out Niis, who were slated to open the shows.

Bad Religion were supposed to hit the road next month, with Canadian concerts scheduled in Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver. See the announcement below.
