Easy, Fun, Beautiful Float

We took an approximately three hour float trip on the Snake River from Grand Teton National Park Headquarters to Teton Pass Highway. Many beautiful natural, nature and rural scenes along the float. This was a no splash trip, and no one got wet unless they wanted to do so.

There were eight passengers on the raft, and there was plenty of room to stretch out or lay down. Joe was our guide – he provide fantastic commentary about the sights along the way and the history of the area. We saw numerous bald eagles. I highly recommend this trip and Joe.

The Best Time to Go on a Snake River Float Trip

jackson wy float trips on the beautiful snake river

If you are wondering what is the best time to go on a Snake River float in Jackson Hole, then you will be happy to know that spring, summer, and fall are all great times of year to go floating in Jackson Hole.

Each season offers a unique experience on the Snake River!

  • Spring is the early season for rafting, and the season falls between the months of April to June. Despite being the early season, most rafters consider spring to be one of the best times of year to raft Jackson Hole. Spring in Wyoming can be chilly, but it also presents the perfect opportunity for rafters to enjoy small groups and see the most animals during a scenic float trip in Grand Teton.
  • Summer (July & August) offers prime rafting weather in Jackson Hole. Since the temperatures hover in the low to mid-80s throughout the season, summer is the perfect time to go whitewater rafting as well as swimming. Scenic float trips are also great in the summer since you can catch cool breezes along the Snake River to keep you comfortable while you check out all of the wildlife and sights!
  • Fall tends to be a little chillier but many locals will say that it’s their favorite time of year to go on Snake River floats Jackson Hole. There is beautiful weather as well as far fewer visitors which makes for a relaxingly quiet scenic float trip, but whitewater rafting is also still an option up until October. Floating between the months of September and October also allows you to view the amazing autumn colors of the Teton National Forest right from your raft!

What to Wear on Jackson Hole Float Trips

jackson hole scenic float trips will go through grand tetons national park

When choosing what to wear on a Jackson Hole Float Trip, you need to consider what type of Teton float trip you will be going on.

Jackson Hole scenic float trips will be much calmer and way less wet since you will be in a secure raft on calm waters the entire time. Whereas if you were to go on a white water rafting float trip you would want to dress accordingly and be prepared to get wet during the entirety of the rafting trip.

  • Sun Protection

While floating the Grand Teton Snake River, there is little to no protection from the sun. Even if you happen to experience a cloudy day during your tour, you can get a sunburn in as little as a couple of hours while on the Grand Tetons Snake River. That being said, you should apply sunscreen before the tour and reapply sunscreen during the tour in addition to wearing sunglasses.

  • Appropriate Shoes

Whether you plan on getting in the water or not, you will still need to wear the appropriate footwear to float Snake River. Water shoes or old tennis shoes with soft soles are the best options for both scenic float trips and whitewater rafting. Pretty much all outfitters will not allow bare feet, flip flops, or Crocs!

  • Weather Appropriate Clothes

If you are going on a scenic float trip on the Snake River, then you can pretty much wear whatever you are comfortable in for the weather that day since you likely won’t be getting wet. It is recommended that you wear some layers regardless of the season that you go floating in because even during the summer the mornings can tend to be chilly.

If you plan on going on a whitewater rafting tour or know that you will get wet or go swimming on your tour, you should wear a swimsuit or quick-drying clothes. Avoid cotton, but still consider layers due to the possibility of a chilly morning or a breezy day.

Directions from Jackson, Grand Teton National Park, Alpine:

  • Take Highway 22 West (at the junction of HWY 89 and HWY 22. You will see Albertson’s Grocery, Wells Fargo, and Phillips 66 gas station) towards Wilson and Teton Village. • If traveling from Victor or Driggs drive over Teton Pass towards Wyoming, Jackson and Wilson. You will pass through the town of Wilson headed towards Jackson on HWY 22. At the first stop light (junction of HWY 22 and the Moose Wilson Road 390) turn left onto the Moose Wilson Road (390). Stilson parking lot is the first left-hand turn.

Please call (307) 413-8613 if you have trouble locating Stilson Parking Lot.

What should I expect?

Expect views of the Tetons, Gros Ventre, and Snake River Mountain Ranges. You will see a number of bald eagles, osprey, herons, and mergansers on sections of the river. The river ecosystem is also home to elk, mule deer, and moose. We have seen grizzly bears on the float in past years, but this is a unique experience. Our guides are happy to share information and fund facts about the area and spot wildlife.

What should I wear?

Dress the same as you would for any outdoor activity. The mornings are generally cool although it warms up rapidly as the sun rises in the sky. It’s better to be overdressed in the morning as you can shed layers as the day goes on. We provide rain parkas should we encounter a shower on the river as well as waterproof blankets. Children 14 and under do not need a license when accompanied by a licensed adult.

What should I bring?

It’s best to be prepared, so warm jackets and/or sweaters are recommended, especially for early morning or evening floats. Life jackets will be provided, along with ponchos and waterproof blankets in the event there is a mountain shower. Cameras and phones are welcome; however, these items are brought at your own risk.

A couple of other items to bring:

  • Sunscreen lotion
  • Soft-soled and comfortable shoes
  • Small dry bag for a camera/cell phone

Will I get wet?

Guests sitting in the front row and potentially on the side rows, will get a splash of water. When we load the boat we do the best we can to accommodate requests. Depending on the group sizes, it may occur that not everyone gets the exact seat they would like, although we do try our very best!

What if it’s raining?

All trips still meet as scheduled. We will make a decision regarding the weather at the boat ramp. We provide waterproof blankets and ponchos. If the trip is canceled due to weather, we will try and rebook for a different time or date. If that is not possible the trip will be refunded.

Do you provide food and drinks on the trip?

We provide ice water and sparkling water. Guests are welcome to bring a small snack with them.

How long is the trip?

Generally, the trips take 3 hours from meet time to drop-off. At lower water levels, which can occur in late summer, the trip may take another half hour.

What if it is raining?

Fishing can sometimes be better in the rain! With that said, trips go out rain or shine. If there is weather in the forecast, we can provide waders, boots, Helly Hansen rain pants, and Helly Hansen raincoats.

Will you pick us up at our hotel?

We ask that you meet us at Stilson Parking lot: 1415 Beckley Park Way, Wilson WY 83014. For afternoon trips please plan for traffic as that is the commuter hour.

Can I pay with my credit card?

Yes, we accept all major credit cards.

What is the minimum age?

The minimum age is 4 years old. Depending on the water level, this age minimum may be raised.

Are there any weight restrictions?

No, but you must wear one of our life jackets. Youth life jackets vary based on weight. Adult life jackets have a max chest size of 52 to 58 inches.

Is the trip too strenuous for Seniors?

The custom seats in our boat help provide back support for Seniors. The section of river we float is class 1-2 which does not contain big whitewater rapids. Heat, elevation, and allergies/medical conditions are some of the biggest concerns. It is important to drink plenty of water throughout the float. Choosing a morning or evening trip may help avoid the heat of the day. Please let us know of any allergies or medical conditions prior to getting in the boat.

What about restroom facilities?

There are restrooms at the put-in and take-out access points. You are given ample time to use these facilities at the beginning and end of the trip.

Jackson Hole Float Trip

1. Choose the Right Season

The season you choose for your float trip can greatly impact your experience. The peak season for whitewater rafting on the Snake River is typically late June to early July, when the snowmelt from the nearby mountains causes higher water levels. If you prefer a more relaxed, scenic float trip, consider visiting during the fall when the leaves change color.

Definitely don’t expect a float trip in Jackson Hole in the winter because it’s far too cold then.

2. Dress Appropriately

While the weather in Jackson Hole can be unpredictable, it’s essential to dress appropriately for your float trip. Wear lightweight, quick-drying clothes, and avoid cotton as it retains moisture and can make you cold. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun.

3. Bring Waterproof Cameras or Phone Cases

Capture the stunning scenery and wildlife on your float trip by bringing a waterproof camera or using a waterproof phone case. These will come in handy during any water fights that may break out with your fellow rafters.

4. Choose Your Trip Wisely

There are many different types of snake river float trip Jackson Hole available, so be sure to choose one that suits your preferences and abilities. If you’re looking for a tranquil experience, opt for a gentle scenic float trip. For those seeking a more adventurous ride, choose a whitewater excursion.

Snake River Scenic Rafting Trips

Jackson hole's best views are from the water.

Meander down Jackson Hole’s iconic Snake River on one of Dave Hansen’s two different scenic river rafting trips. Whether your choose to float the upper portion of the Snake, where you’ll have Teton views for the majority of your float, or the Canyon, where mountain walls rise up on both side of the river, you’re in for a treat. Between the scenery, wildlife and river itself, your scenic float will be an experience to remember.

Tetons and Snake River 13 Mile Scenic Float Trip

Cruise through the Snake River Range and the Gros Ventre Range in a comfortable, secure ride. The Tetons and Snake River views along the way are magnificent, so bring your camera—you may spot a moose wading in a back eddy or an osprey diving in the river beneath the snow-capped Tetons. The 13-Mile Scenic Float is a section that is west of the town of Jackson, nestled between the Grand Teton National Park and the Bridger Teton National Forest. Opportunities to spot an osprey diving in the river for a cutthroat trout are abound with the snow capped Tetons as your backdrop. Learn What to Expect or Read FAQs

Private scenic rafts can be reserved by booking all 10 spots in a raft.

Fall Scenic Trip: Where the Water Takes us Scenic Float

The fall is such an amazing time to be out on the water, but it is also usually a time where our water levels can fluctuate. So, depending on water flows we could either do the 13-Mile Scenic Trip or an 8 Mile scenic trip in the Snake River Canyon. This trip change could happen without notice, please call with questions or to find current water situations. This trip typically happens around October 1st. Learn What to Expect or Read FAQs

This trip is active from: 10/1-10/13. Private scenic rafts can be reserved by booking all 10 spots in a raft.

All rafters must meet us at a designated pickup location to checkin and ensure you have the proper equipment – which sometimes includes wetsuits! Once you’ve checked in, if you feel more comfortable driving yourself to the boat ramp instead of taking the free, provided bus. You can do so.

Learn more here.

Yes. Click here to learn more about our multiple pickup locations.

Your confirmation email will display your pickup location and pickup time.

The main difference between the two locations is that scenic trips only depart from the Jackson Hole location. Whitewater rafting trips depart both from Jackson Hole and Alpine.

Yes! Please visit our Essential Eligibility Requirements Essential Eligibility Criteria to learn more.

Whitewater Flow of the Trip: 3.5-4 hours Door-to Door (Leaving from Jackson) 1.5 hours on the River (flow dependent)

Scenic Flow of the Trip: 3.25 hours Door to Door (Leaving from Jackson) 2 hours on the River

Please Note: Later in the season when the water is lower and slower, trip times may be closer to 4 hours door-to-door. Visit our What to Expect page for more information.

No, you do not. Our standard boat is probably the best boat for you as you can sit in the middle and be in the front of the boat and get soaked, or you can sit in the back of the boat closer to the guide (the closer to the guide, the drier you will be!) and not get as wet. If you would like to be in an 8 man raft, we can also make arrangements so that you would not have to paddle.

Our river trips leave as scheduled rain or shine. Don’t worry we are prepared! Find our rafting in rain the resources here. For whitewater we have wetsuits and booties available to rent that will make the trip enjoyable!  For the scenic, if a storm happens to come in we have ponchos on all the boats. However, we reserve the right to cancel or shorten a trip due to extreme weather conditions that would cause the trip to be unsafe. Whitewater rafting is a wet activity by nature, and assuming that you are dressed appropriately, we think this is the best outdoor activity for a rainy day! I f that is something you are not comfortable with, it is the responsibility of the party to cancel outside of our respective cancellation polices to receive a full refund.

Every person on the trip will be issued a type V Personal Flotation Device, better known as a life jacket. These devices are designed to float your head above the surface of the water even if you do not know how to swim. Having the ability to swim will enhance your comfort zone as well as your ability to get out of the river in the event you should find yourself out of the raft. A detailed safety lecture of instructions is given before the rafts are launched.

During most of the season it is not a problem if kids would like to ride in the 8 man raft. The most important thing is that we have enough able bodies to paddle in the raft. Certain high water conditions may cause us to raise the age limit for an 8 man boat.

The most important thing is that your kids like to be around water and are not afraid of it. The next thing to ask is if your kids like exciting things. You know your kids the best, but as a general rule, if the answer to the two above questions is yes, then they are ready for their first whitewater trip.

Also, the layout of our river trip is perfect for kids. The first half of the trip has mostly class I and class II waves, so kids have time to get use to being on the river and getting a little wet before the bigger waves of the second part of the trip. There are also nice breaks between the waves where you are floating for a while and have time to laugh and talk about how cool the last wave was before you hit the next wave.

Lastly, our guides are very well trained and watch kids in the rafts closely. If they see that your child is a little timid, then they will suggest that your child sit towards the back of the raft in the middle. If they see that your child is excited and loves getting wet, then they will move them up so that they are sitting in the front of the raft.

None! Roughly half of our customers that we take down the river have never been whitewater rafting. All of our guides know this and go over a very detailed safety speech in which they will personally go around and show you how to sit and the best ways to keep yourself in the boat. To help ease some nerves, there are two great benefits to this river for first-timers. The first half of the trip is fairly mellow. You’ll get wet, but it is not too daunting. This allows you the time to get used to being in the boat. You are not going to be thrown into the boat and hit the biggest wave of the trip in the first five minutes. The second half of the trip is where all the bigger waves are. The other nice thing about the Snake River is that it is classified as a “Pool and drop river”, which basically means that after every section of waves, you are going to have a nice calm section afterwards before you hit your next set of waves. So you have time to sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the canyon between waves. The people who were nervous usually have the best time!

Whitewater Trips: You want to wear as little cotton as possible on the river (especially no jeans or sweatshirts). Swimsuit is ideal and fleece, wool and polypropylene are also very good fabrics to wear if you are concerned about being cold. We have wetsuits, jackets and neoprene booties rent for a small cleaning fee. Renting wetsuits, jackets and booties are a great way to ensure that you will not be cold during the trip.

You also want to wear shoes that you can get wet…Tevas, Sneakers, or anything that is attached to your foot will work. You cannot go barefoot on the river (there is a short walk at the end of the trip up to where the bus is) and you cannot wear flip-flops because they can fall off and float away in the river. We do rent neoprene boots at our shop for $5 and they are perfect to wear if you want to keep your shoes dry and keep your body warmer.

Overall, don’t bring anything that you don’t want to get wet. Keys can be left at our front desk or in the bus. You will want to wear sunscreen and you can leave sweatshirts and towels on the bus for when the trip is over. It is not recommended to bring cameras or phones on the whitewater trip unless they are waterproof (we do sell waterproof phone cases).

Scenic Trips: Wear clothes that you are comfortable in. Most any morning in Jackson Hole, even in the summer months, will be cool. But as soon as the sun pops up, the air temperature warms up pretty fast. If you are doing a morning scenic float, it would be a good idea to bring a sweatshirt or light jacket along that you can put on underneath your life jacket. If you get to the river and decide that you do not need a jacket, then you can leave it on the bus before you get in the raft.

We also ask you to wear shoes that you would not mind getting wet. We do our best to keep your shoes dry, but we are surrounded by water and feet sometimes get wet getting in and out of the boat.

Feel free to bring your own camera or set of binoculars. It is recommended to have a secure strap to hold them so that they do not fall into the water.

On a scale from I-VI, the rapids on the Snake River are class II-III during normal water flows. During the springtime run-off (typically the first couple weeks in June), we do have waves that can get up to a class IV. When the river gets up to these levels, our minimum age limit may change. We do suggest that if you are planning a trip for the first couple weeks of June and you are traveling with kids, to give us a call to make sure that our age limit has not been raised.

Going for a short swim is always a possibility on a rafting trip. All of our guides go over an extensive safety speech before the trip begins, which includes how to keep yourself in the raft and the proper way to sit. We find that the people who are worried about falling listen carefully to these suggestions.

However, if you do fall out, there is no need to panic. Everyone wears a Class V life jacket that will keep you head above the level of the water. Most of our rapids end in pools or calm sections before the next wave, so we can get you back in the raft fairly quick if you happen to fall out.

For whitewater our age limit for kids is usually 6 years old, there are some times of the year we could talk about adventurous 5 year olds. Just give us a call! For our scenic trips the youngest we will take is 4 years old.

There are certain water levels during the run-off season where we may raise our age limit. Please give us a call to discuss if you have more questions.

No, we only have age restrictions for the younger kids, which is usually six years old. The oldest person that we took down last year in the whitewater section was 86 years old. We do, however, expect everyone to reasonably evaluate his or her fitness and health levels before taking a whitewater rafting trip. If you have any questions or concerns, then it would be best to contact your physician.

Our office in downtown Jackson is located at 225 West Broadway, which is right on the corner of Broadway and Millward, about 2 blocks west of the town square. All scenic trips depart from this location.

We pick up for our whitewater trips the Snake River Park Cabin Village south of town. This option is only for guests staying at the village.

We also have an office in Alpine, Wyoming at the Alpine Valley Resort . For whitewater we offer transportation to and from the river. People can also check in at Alpine Valley and drive to West Table themselves, about a 10 minute drive.

If you prefer, we can also meet you at where your trip begins. For whitewater trips that would be at West Table boat ramp and for scenic trips it would be either at Pritchard Creek or Wilson Bridge, depending on your trip. If you would like to meet us at where your trip begins, please give us a call so we can give you directions. If you are planning to drive down to Salt Lake after your trip, driving your car down to West Table and leaving your car there can save you about an hour.

We do not take your pictures, but there is an excellent company in town called Float O Graphs that will be taking your picture while you are going through either Big Kahuna or Lunch Counter. They are located in the town of Jackson and photos of your trip can be viewed after you get back from town or on the road back to town online (they keep the pictures for five years).

There are a lot of great places to stay in Jackson Hole. If you are looking for a great place to stay just outside of town, please check out Snake River Cabin Village & RV our sister company. Located right on the Snake River, there are sites for camping, RV hook-ups, camping cabins, and Deluxe Cabins. Our river trips pick up there as well!

Looking for for larger and deluxe RV sites? Please check out Alpine Valley Resort !

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, & American Express. We are located in the USA.

Please note that these are aggregated reviews and may include details specific to both our scenic and whitewater rafting trips.

The legendary Snake River in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

The Snake, which is designated a Wild and Scenic River by Congress, meanders southward out of Jackson Lake through the heart of Grand Teton National Park. Many of the elk, mule deer, and bison that call the area home water on the river, and it’s a daily occurrence to witness bald eagles gracefully fishing for their breakfasts from the treetops. After winding through a stretch of ranch lands, the river morphs into a totally different beast when it enters the Snake River Canyon. For eight miles, steep walls funnel the river into a torrent of whitewater dotted with Class II and III rapids. With names like Lunch Counter, Rope, and the Big Kahuna, the foamy rapids and roaring spray of the Snake River Canyon make this area a favorite spot of boaters looking for a challenge.

Teton Sunset Tour

float trips jackson hole wyoming

Sunset Views & Late Afternoon Floats

With the sun setting behind the Tetons, a late afternoon departure provides us with privacy and tranquility as we enjoy the river’s magical beauty on a sunset float on the Snake River. This is a wonderfully romantic float for couples. Your tour begins with a scenic two-hour sunset float surrounded by breathtaking scenery and the many plants and animals that inhabit the river bottom. Early evening is one of the best times to observe the larger mammals; elk, moose, and deer as they come out to forage as the sun begins to go down. It’s also a good time to see beavers and river otters, who usually hide out when the sun is high in the sky. Eagles and osprey are also very active, taking advantage of the suns’ lower angle to swoop down on unsuspecting fish and small mammals. After you arrive at camp, you’ll be served appetizers and beverages in a spectacular spring creek setting, a scenic drive back to your pickup location completes the trip.

Not to be missed while in Jackson!!!

My family and I did the sunset boat tour and dinner... what an amazing experience!!! Dutch and his crew were all so fantastic. They all made our family of 13 feel like we were at home. The sights were breathtaking, the food was delicious and the atmosphere - you really need to see it to experience just how wonderful it was. If you are in town, I highly recommend booking a tour with them. It was the perfect way to end our week stay in Teton Village. None of us will ever forget this night.

Small Boats... Big Adventure!

Most people choose this option because it’s the middle of the road among boat sizes, there is an option to paddle or not and the small boats are still guaranteed to knock your river booties off!

Classic Boats... Classic Adventure!

You can’t go wrong with Mad River’s classic whitewater boats! There are non-paddling and paddling positions in this raft. Most people choose this option because they are first-time rafters or are traveling with small children.

Whitewater Rafting Trips

Scenic float trips, first class service in a world-class destination.

Our professional, experienced river trip guides will navigate you through the twists and turns of the Snake River Canyon while pointing out the flora, fauna, geology, and history that make this area so unique.

Whether you bring your family or come with friends, we can assure you that Snake River rafting will be the highlight of your trip to Jackson Hole!

Top-Rated Rafting Trips in Jackson Hole!

float trips jackson hole wyoming

This trip was so much fun for our whole family! Molly was our guide - I felt she had a great handle on the boat and was very friendly! The trip length was long (in a good way!) and the amount of whitewater was plentiful. Our 11 year old LOVED it, as did us parents. Overall, a really great trip and guides. We will absolutely book a trip with them again soon!

Choose Mad River! There are a lot of outfitters to choose from to raft down Snake River. Choose Mad River because they are so organized, their guides are funny and skilled, the home base has easy parking, and you'll feel taken care of. Our kids loved it, partly because the guides were awesome. As soon as it was over, we wished we could do it all over again!

Our Mad River whitewater rafting trip exceeded all my expectations! We had Molly as our guide and she was terrific. She handled the raft with skill without missing a beat while answering questions and pointing out interesting sights- including seven bald eagles! Very relaxing float with amazing views. Highly recommend and would do this again. Mad River rocks!

Our rafting trip was so much fun! We loved soaking in the local scenery and wildlife. We saw several bald eagles and osprey and our guide did a great job of pointing them out. Our guide was amazing! Super engaging and did a great job bringing a group of mostly strangers together with a lot of laughs. Would definitely recommend to couples and families!

Scenic Float Trips in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for the Whole Family

When it comes to family vacations, it can be hard to please everyone. You want to relax, your little ones want constant adventure, and your older kids—well, they roll their eyes at every activity you suggest. One way to make everyone happy when you’re visiting Jackson Hole is with a Snake River float trip. You’ll get to unwind a bit, the kids can spot wildlife, and even the most jaded teens will be enchanted by the view. Floating the Snake River in Jackson Hole is a great way to bring the family together and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Best Scenic Float Trips on Snake River

Not all scenic float trips are the same and choosing the wrong one can put a damper on your vacation. Some hire novice guides who don’t know the area. Others treat their Jackson Hole float trips like a conveyor belt, ushering in one group after another to maximize profits, caring little for guest experience.

JHWW is different. We’re highly rated by our guests because we offer a unique experience compared to other Teton scenic float tours. When you take a JHWW float trip on Snake River, you’ll traverse a 13-mile stretch of the river that we’ve chosen especially for our journey because of its unparalleled views of the Tetons. Our fun, engaging guides are the best in the business, with in-depth knowledge about the wildlife, ecology, geology, and history of the Jackson Hole area.

We think of every detail, including providing our guests with high-powered Bushnell binoculars to help them enjoy the scenery, windbreakers in case of unexpected rain, and a lunch with gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options—and yes, there’s even a homemade cookie inside. We’ve been in operation since 1963 because we deliver the best scenic float trips for families in Jackson Hole.

Booking a Snake River Float Trip

If you’ve decided to book a float trip for your family with JHWW, it’s a good idea to book now—our schedule fills up quickly each season, so make your reservations as soon as you know the dates you’ll be in Jackson Hole. Our season starts in early spring with one daily scenic float trip at 9:45am; at the end of May, we add a second daily trip and during high season, we add a sunset trip too. High season ends in late August, and then we drop back down to two tours a day, with a single morning float trip from mid-September to October.

Unlike whitewater rafting, you won’t get wet on a scenic float trip, so all we ask is that you wear comfortable clothing. It can be chilly on the river at times, so you might want to wear layers. If you’d like to capture some photos of your trip down the river, bring a camera too.

Reviews From Our Guests

“We had the most amazing experience with both the scenic and whitewater rafting adventure! Our scenic guide, Jake, was knowledgeable and kind. Our whitewater raft guide, Spencer, was totally funny, knowledgeable, and personable. An awesome trip indeed!!! Totally recommend.”

Veronica Nelson

“I am not a person who regularly writes reviews, but our family of four had the most amazing experience with Teton Whitewater. 100% of the staff members we encountered were exceptionally friendly and helpful. You can tell that the employees care about making sure the rafting experience is fun and exciting for everyone. The bathrooms and rented wetsuits were clean and in good condition. I had some questions before the trip and my emails were always answered within 15 minutes of when I sent them. Our guide, Spencer, was outstanding. It was obvious that he was experienced and knowledgeable. Our raft had a great time getting to know each other and Spencer made sure he got to know each of us, as well. As we drove away after the trip my two teenagers said that this experience was the coolest thing we have ever done on a trip. Thank you all for the great family experience that will last a lifetime.”

Abigail Turgeon

“Most fun I have had in years! Awesome adventure with the best staff imaginable. I could not have been happier with my experience.”

“Just an all around great experience! The staff is so kind and friendly. I felt like I was among friends from the moment I walked in the door. The float was beautiful. The bus ride had great music. I felt like safety was a high priority throughout the entire event. Everyone in our group left with a smile and some incredible memories. Thanks so much for an awesome river experience!!”

John Parker

“Super fun! The guides make it such a fun and different experience from some of the other companies in town! This is the one to use for sure!”

Tanner Pursley

Snake River Float Trips

sa_SCRScenicFloat

Explore the natural beauty of Grand Teton National Park on a Snake River float trip! Floating down the Snake through the Tetons is not only spectacular, but it is an experience that is truly once in a lifetime!

Floating Offers a Fresh Perspective

The Snake River winds itself through much of the Pacific Northwest of the United States including the Jackson Hole Valley. Why not follow its path during your stay to see the spectacular sites from its perspective?

See wildlife in their natural habitat peacefully going about their daily lives without the intrusive nature of a vehicle. In the summertime, the Park teems with wildlife such as elk, moose, deer, bison, eagles, osprey, a large variety of ducks, song birds, and small mammals.

Chances are high that you’ll learn a lot about the area and its animal inhabitants, as well. The valley’s tour guides have countless river trips down the river under their belts and often have educational expertise in wildlife biology, geology or other related fields.

Don’t Forget Your Camera!

Photo opportunities abound on your tranquil float down the river. Bring a camera and have it ready for special wildlife sightings and unfathomable Teton views. Guides will often alert you to popular photo ops or those with historical significance, so listen up!

"but would we be close enough to those restaurants as well? "

You can drive to all three in 30 minutes.

I'd pick Colter Bay for an adventurous kid. Mostly for the swim beach, if nothing else but being at the waters edge is great. Despite the name, JLL is not (on the lake).

Colter Bay it is then! Thanks!
