One word for the Forest River Heritage Glen 270FKS: WOW. This front kitchen travel trailer is truly incredible. 

Starting in the front of the camper (the kitchen area), this RV has a ton of counter space. The counter spans the entire front width of the trailer and curves around the corner to the range.

A huge front window and skylight in the kitchen provides plenty of natural light, paired with the panoramic windows behind the recliner and dinette and it feels so open and spacious. 

This RV has a ton of interior and exterior storage – if you’re a full-time RVer or wannabe, this is a great rig to consider. It even has an enclosed underbelly with heating pads to keep everything thawed out even in sub-freezing temps.

The Grand Design Transcend Xplor 255Fk is the first front kitchen travel trailer on this list without slide-outs. 

This model is not currently in production, but you can find used rigs at dealers all around the US. 

Grand Design is known for high-quality and efficient RV floor plans, and this model is no exception. 

The front kitchen features a large countertop, pantry, and plenty of overhead and below-counter cabinets.

There’s a panoramic windshield on the front of this camper so you can see the entire campground from your sink and stove. 

inTech strives to make small spaces feel large, and they’ve really done it with the Sol Eclipse. With plenty of windows and up to 6 feet 4 inches of headroom, this small camper feels huge inside. 

And the layout is really simple: a kitchen in front, a wet bath in the middle, and a u-shaped dinette in the rear that converts into a sleeping space for 2.

The Jayco White Hawk 26Fk is a great front kitchen travel trailer that has everything you need and nothing you don’t. 

The front kitchen countertop spans the entire width of the camper and then some, curving around the corner to the stovetop. 

The front of the camper has a pantry, dinette, and two theater seats with their own removable tabletops. The bathroom is in the middle of the camper on one side, so it doesn’t block access to the bedroom. 

The queen sized bed is located on a slideout for extra bedroom space, and directly opposite is a wardrobe, dresser, and additional entry.

12. KZ Connect C272FK

KZ RV is a brand known for unique floor plans and high-quality RVs, and we love the front kitchen C272FK travel trailer. 

This travel trailer has a large countertop that spans the width of the RV, a 70 inch sofa, a booth dinette, and a walk-in pantry in the front of the RV. 

The entertainment center features a TV and a 30 inch fireplace for warm and cozy vibes on cool nights. 

The bathroom is on one side in the middle of the floor plan, and the bedroom has a king sized bed, which is somewhat rare for travel trailers.

The first of the Palominos on this list, the Puma 26FKDS is a great little front kitchen travel trailer under 30 feet long.

This travel trailer has a wide countertop across the width of the camper in front with plenty of cabinets overhead and below the counter. 

There’s a walk-in pantry by the entry door, and a booth dinette with a loveseat sofa on the slide-out opposite the entry.

The bedroom has a queen sized bed with a walk-in closet that has a washer/dryer prep, and a wardrobe beside it. 

This is a great travel trailer that features a lot of storage for it’s small size – it even has 4 outside storage areas on the exterior.

The SolAire Ultra Lite 230FKBS is a brand new floor plan from Palomino, first offered in 2023.

This front kitchen travel trailer is unique compared to many models on the market today. Most models have the counter in the front and all the appliances on the camp side of the camper. But this one has the refrigerator on the driver’s side of the camper, right next to the sofa/dinette area. 

There’s a closet to the left of the entry door and a pantry in the kitchen itself. 

The bathroom spans the width of the camper, but you can access the bedroom via the second entry if the bathroom is occupied. 

The bedroom features a king-sized bed and a wardrobe – this floor plan feels similar to the Rockwood Mini Lite 2516s, and we can’t wait to see pictures and a walkthrough.

15. Venture Sonic SN241VFK

Last but definitely not least is the Venture Sonic SN241VFK. 

Venture isn’t one of the travel trailer mega-corporations out there, which also means their rigs aren’t mass produced. And that means… quality. They’re actually owned by KZ RV who is also known for quality builds.

This front kitchen travel trailer has a wide kitchen that takes up the entire front end of the trailer, and a jiffy sofa and booth dinette on either side of the living space.

The bathroom spans the length of the camper and the bedroom has a front-to-back facing RV short queen bed. 

This RV might not have all the frills of larger RVs, but it is well-built, aesthetically pleasing, and lightweight.

Travel trailers with rear kitchens, unlike the typical RV that has a kitchen somewhere around the middle of the RV, offer a dedicated kitchen space. Mid kitchens usually share a space with the living room which often means the kitchen is limited in space.

There are a variety of travel trailers with rear kitchens available on the market. These are often able to provide more kitchen space as well as many other benefits.

In this article, we’ll take a deep dive into rear kitchens and their advantages. Then, we’ll provide you with 12 of the best travel trailers with rear kitchens on the market right now. 

Do Travel Trailers Have Rear Kitchens?

Most RVs have a mid-kitchen floor plan. In other words, the kitchen is found more or less in the middle of the RV, usually in the same space as the living area. But, that doesn’t mean all RV’s have that floorplan.

In fact, plenty of camper trailers have rear kitchens. While it’s not as common as a mid-kitchen floor plan, it’s not hard to find either. You won’t have to search too much if you’re looking for a travel trailer with a large kitchen in the rear. 

They aren’t all large travel trailers, either. Some manufacturers offer rear kitchens in some pretty small travel trailers. Although these shorter models don’t have huge kitchens, it still opens up the floor plan.

Advantages Of Travel Trailers With Rear Kitchens

So we’ve seen that travel trailers can have rear kitchens. But what exactly is the advantage of a rear kitchen RV? 

For one, it gives the kitchen a dedicated space. That means it often has more countertop space, resulting in a travel trailer with a larger kitchen. 

Some rear kitchens also have a breakfast bar facing the living area. This gives you extra space to eat, watch TV, and relax. 

Another advantage to a rear kitchen is that it gives you a larger, more open living space. This, combined with more kitchen space, is absolutely perfect if you enjoy entertaining or are traveling with a large group.

Do RV Kitchens Have Ovens?

Having an oven in your kitchen is a huge convenience that expands your options for what you can cook. But if you get a travel trailer with a large rear kitchen, does that mean it will have an oven? The answer is, not always. While many travel trailers do include an oven, including many on our list, it doesn’t always come standard. However, it is often available as an optional add-on.

Keep in mind, though, that this isn’t likely to be as big as an oven in a traditional home. Instead, these are small ovens, which are best for cooking for 2 or 3 people.

Are Outdoor RV Kitchens Worth It?

Many RV’s have an outdoor kitchen, usually in addition to the interior kitchen. Outdoor kitchens can be a great feature, but you have to consider if it’s right for you. 

You’ll sacrifice storage space in exchange if you get an RV with an outdoor kitchen. This could become an issue if you tend to travel with a lot of stuff. You’ll have to consider if it’s worth the trade-off. If you like to entertain and spend a lot of time outside or love tailgating, an outdoor kitchen can be a great option. But, if you love to cook elaborate meals, you likely won’t love using an outdoor kitchen, which is small and usually limited to just a mini fridge, a griddle, and a sink. 

Final Thoughts About Travel Trailers With Rear Kitchens

A travel trailer with a large rear kitchen will provide you with more counter space and more room to cook, as well as provide more separation between the kitchen and living areas.

While they’re not as common as mid-RV kitchens, there are still plenty of great options, including the ones on our list. Once you’re in your new travel trailer with its spacious rear kitchen, you’ll be able to cook better than ever!

The spacious full bath will let you clean up each day, and the front private bedroom is sure to make you feel at home. Here, you'll find a queen bed, three wardrobes, plus one of the dual entry doors for added convenience!

With any Jay Feather travel trailer by Jayco, you will enjoy lightweight towing, convenient exterior amenities, and at-home comforts inside! The Overlander 1 Solar Package included within the Jay Sport Package comes with a 200W solar panel and a 30-amp digital controller so you can enjoy some off-grid camping. There is also a modern graphics package with a dual-colored sidewall, LCI Solid Step fold-down aluminum tread steps on the main entry door, and Climate Shield  0 -100° F tested weather insulation package that will allow you to camp in all sorts of climates. The Customer Value Package will make time outdoors easier than ever with an outside shower, a power tongue jack and a Rock Solid stabilizer system , plus American-made nitro-filled Goodyear tires with self-adjusting electric brakes. More exterior features include a Keyed-Alike locking system, marine grade exterior speakers with blue LED accent lighting, a Magnum Truss roof system, and the list goes on!
