Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh’s global event celebrates both the original Sinnoh region and the Hisui region. The huge event takes place starting on Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. until Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. in your local time .

There is a lot going on in this event, so it’s a great time to play. There’s no paid ticket to participate, so all the perks and bonuses are available to all players. There’s a halved hatch distance for all eggs put into Incubators during the event, up to six special trades can be made (instead of just one), trading Stardust cost has been halved , and there’s no limit on remote raiding from Feb 23-25.

During the event, there’s also an increased chance to find some Pokémon shiny, including Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Stunky, and costumed Pikachu. There’s also an increased chance to hatch shiny Hisuian Voltorb, Hisuian Qwilfish, Pachirisu, Chatot, and Carnivine from eggs.

Niantic teases Necrozma ahead of Pokémon Go Fest 2024

T he developers of the mobile monster-catching game Pokémon Go, Niantic have teased the incoming arrival of a space-based addition to the ranks. Necrozma has been touted by the mobile game studio ahead of the summer 2024 event taking place across the world.

In a recent post on the Pokémon Go website, the studio announced a warning and a shadowy glimpse of the title's new prismatic pocket monster.

"WARNING: Surge in Ultra Wormhole activity reported.

ENTITY IDENTIFIED: Necrozma. Intentions unknown.

DIRECTIVE: Exercise caution"

Necrozma the fusion Pokémon

A group of data miners for Pokémon Go have also unearthed references to "fusion" in the game's update files. The Fusion mechanic sees certain Pokémon combine with each other and at times Pokémon can even fuse with humans.

These digitally dug files are part of the Go Fest 2024 release taking place throughout the summer in physical and digital locations. The mechanic that notably took place in Pokémon Sun and Moon will likely see a comeback if the stripped update file is believed.

The festival kicks off in the home nation of Pokémon in Sendai, Japan from May 30 to June 2, 2024. The city will take on the mantle of host city for Pokémon GO Fest 2004. The site description says "This will mark "The Greenest City" in Japan's first time hosting a GO Fest event. We can't wait to bring GO Fest adventures back to Japan when we kick off the opening weekend."

Other physical locations include the Spanish capital of Madrid, where the festival rumbles on from June 14 to 16, 2024. New York also plays host to the international event between July 5 to 7, 2024, with the site saying that the "penultimate Pokémon GO Fest 2024 weekend will take place in none other than New York City, where you'll be able to enjoy all the diverse neighborhoods and culture that the Big Apple has to offer alongside thousands of other Trainers!"

Those who can't attend one of the physical events can also take part in the global event and can purchase tickets via the Pokémon Go site . Trainers who buy from the Pokémon website will receive a special t-shirt that should arrive in time for the festival's inception.

Bagon Soars (Metaphorically) in Pokémon GO April 2024 Community Day Classic

Catch the rock head pokémon, enjoy great event bonuses, and more..

B agon is charging headfirst into Pokémon GO ’s April 2024 Community Day Classic, which will run on April 7, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time . First discovered in the Hoenn region, this Dragon-type Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild during the event—and lucky Trainers just might encounter a Shiny Bagon! You can also rock and roll with event bonuses that include triple XP for catching Pokémon, as well as a three-hour duration for Lure Modules and Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event. On top of that, during the event or up to two hours afterward, you’ll be able to evolve Bagon’s first evolution Shelgon into a Salamence that knows the Charged Attack Outrage.

You’ll also be able to get your research on with a Bagon Community Day Classic–exclusive Special Research story. Tickets are available for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). These tickets are available for purchase in the in-game shop. Trainers can also take on Field Research at no cost, catching Bagon to earn rewards that include Stardust, Great Balls, encounters with Bagon, and more.

Fly high (again, metaphorically) with Bagon, Trainers!

With summer fast approaching, we don’t have long to wait until Pokémon Go Fest 2024, during which Necrozma is teased to make an appearance.

Necrozoma was first introduced in Gen VII, and acted as the mascot for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for the Nintendo 3DS.

We also now know where the in-person events will be taking place, so you can start checking what inconvenient airport you’ll need to travel to to get your mega discount flights.

It’s not just Necrozma who’s making an appearance, either, as other fan favourites from generations past will be introduced to Pokémon Go as part of the event.

There’s plenty to be getting through, though, so read on to find out everything you need to know ahead of the global Pokémon bonanza!

Will Necrozma feature in Pokémon Go Fest 2024?

Yes, Necrozma is expected to feature in Pokémon Go Fest 2024 as part of raids.

This was teased during the 2024 Solar Eclipse, when the Pokémon Go X (formerly Twitter) account shared a video showing the shadow of Necrozoma superimposed on a pedestrian crossing.

The official announcement followed, and you’ll be able to battle Necrozma in 5-Star Raids.

Necrozma has multiple forms, but it’s unclear whether any of their variations will be available in Pokémon Go.

What else do we know about Pokémon Go Fest 2024?

During Pokémon Go Fest 2024, there will be four unique habitats which rotate every hour - and this is available to all trainers, regardless of whether they have a ticket or not.

These are Dawn Meadow, Shining Day, Creeping Dusk and Darkest Night.

If you’re a ticket holder, you may be able to encounter the Mythical Pokémon Marshadow – but only once! Marshadow can become available through Special Research, too.

Jangmo-o will also make their shiny debut, should you be so lucky!

There’s also Pokémon Go Fest 2024 merchandise to commemorate the event.

Necrozma Debut in Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go Fest 2024 to debut Shiny Buzzwole, Pheromosa, and Xurkitree

Image of Zack Palm

The highly anticipated Pokémon Go Fest 2024 event is on the horizon, and leading up to the event, developer Niantic has confirmed the appearance of several Shiny Ultra Beasts. Players who participate in the event can catch Shiny versions of Buzzwole, Pheromosa, and Xurkitree.

These three were the star Pokémon during Pokémon Go Fest 2022 . They each appeared in distinct locations where Niantic was holding in-person events, and everyone had a chance to encounter them for the global event on the final weekend. It seems Niantic is keeping to this tradition and offering these three Shiny versions exclusive to five-star raid encounters in specific locations before making them available worldwide for the Global Pokémon Go Fest 2024 event on  July 13 and 14 .

Buzzwole in Pokemon Go

There are three physical locations where Pokémon Go players can meet up leading up to the Global Pokémon Go Fest 2024 event. There is an event from May 30 to June 2 in Sendai City where players can catch a Shiny Xurkitree . The second one takes place from June 14 to 16 in Madrid , where Shiny Pheromosa is making its debut. Finally, from July 5 to 7 , there’s the final in-person event in New York City, where Shiny Buzzwole will appear.

All three will be available in five-star raids for those participating in the Global Pokémon Go Fest 2024 in mid-July. Not only will these Ultra Beasts appear, but Necrozma , the Prism Pokémon, is making its debut, and players have a chance to challenge it in five-star raids. There’s also a chance to encounter the Shiny version of this Pokémon during the event, which is a rare choice from Niantic, as they typically hold onto those versions for future events.

Tickets for the big event have gone live today, and you can purchase them now if you plan to attend any in-person events or if you’d rather wait for the larger Global event. Full details for each event are covered on the Pokémon Go Fest 2024 website , breaking down prices, specific locations for players to meet up, and exclusive rewards for attending. Anyone looking to participate in these events will want to act fast to ensure they don’t miss out on attending.
