Raven-Symoné Shares How She Lost 40 Pounds

Plus, how she says she did it with “no exercise.”

preview for A Beginner’s Guide to Intermittent Fasting

  • During a recent guest appearance on The View , Raven-Symoné revealed she lost 40 lbs.
  • “I want to be here for her as long as I can.”

Over the past year, Raven-Symoné has been working to put her health first, and fans are taking notice. The former The View host returned to the talk show for its special season 25 celebration, and during the episode, she opened up about her recent weight loss .

While visiting The View, co-host Joy Behar noted the Raven’s Home star’s slimmer appearance and said, “You lost a lot of weight !” The 36-year-old was at first reluctant to share how much weight she had lost, but then revealed she had slashed 40 lbs.

“When I ended this show and I started Raven’s Home I was 210 lb. I am now 170,” she announced. With such a major weight loss , the co-hosts shared how proud they were and asked how and what drove her to make such a change.

“What made me want to change was her,” Raven-Symoné said, gesturing to her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, who sat next to her on the set. “I want to be here for her as long as I can, and I found out some numbers at the doctor that were not pleasant for someone in my age bracket or any age bracket, to be honest with you.”

She continued, “With her help and guidance and love and fantastic cooking skills, which everyone here knows, she helped me kick sugar . And I say kick sugar because it is an addictive drug. I was addicted to it in wheat form, in regular form, and it’s out of my system.”

Symoné explained that her new diet doesn’t just cut out sugar , but also follows a keto diet focused on low-carb foods, eats in a style of intermittent fasting and extended fasting, and enjoys whole foods. Symoné added that with her wife’s help she does still eat treats, like cookies, but opts for a keto-friendly version Pearman-Maday whips up for her.

Though Symoné said in The View interview that she dropped the weight just by changing her diet and “no exercise,” she had previously shared Instagram videos of her walking in June 2021. “Me and exercise don’t get along, but when we do, it’s a quick walk,” she shared in the video.

Over the last year, Symoné has shared videos on her Instagram account cooking healthier versions of her favorites with her wife. In August, the two made a keto key lime pie on Instagram Live.

And in May 2021, she updated fans that she had successfully lost 28 lbs. in an Instagram Live video. “If you all watch Raven’s Home literally right now, and come on this Live and see this joint, I got a whole different face going on,” she said in the live video . “It’s a whole pounds-down journey. Just so you guys know, I am 28 lbs down.”

While we’re less focused on the numbers on the scale and more about a holistic view of health and wellness, we’re so happy Symoné is feeling great.

Raven-Symoné shares details about her weight loss journey

“I want to make sure that my body is healthy and prepared to deal with old age,” she said

Raven-Symoné appeared on Good Morning America on Friday to share the progress of her weight loss journey after remarkably shedding 30 pounds in three months.

The 35-year-old said while she can’t “speak for anybody else,” fasting has been the best method for her in both shedding and keeping the pounds off.

“I am low-carb as much as I can be,” she said. “I do very minimal exercise and I am an avid faster. I make sure I have a minimum of 14-hour fast between dinner and breakfast.”

She added, “I’m not over here trying to be a little twig. I want to make sure that my body is healthy and prepared to deal with old age.”

Raven-Symoné, who has been in the entertainment business since age 3, opened up about her experiences with her weight and emotional eating. In 2011, she lost 70 pounds but said she couldn’t celebrate because the way people treated her when she weighed more was “emotionally damaging.”

“The way people were treating me while I was bigger was emotionally damaging. When I lost weight, I remember the moment I went on the red carpet and in my head, I was cussing everyone out. I’m like, ‘Wow, now you want to look at me because I’m skinny, thanks,'” she recalled.

When asked how she can sustain herself during the current three day fast she’s on, she credited drinking water, electrolytes, and bone broth when things “get difficult,” but assured viewers that she has a goal in mind.

“I want to make sure that my body is healthy and prepared to deal with old age,” she said.

In an Instagram video shared last month with her wife Miranda Pearman-Maday , the Raven’s Home actress opened up about her weight loss.

“You see that chin? If you all watch Raven’s Home literally right now, and then come on this live and see this joint, I got a whole different face going on. It’s a whole pounds down journey. Just so you guys know I am 28 pounds down. I lost a s— ton of weight. Right now I’m doing a 48-hour fast so we’re on that journey right now,” she said in the video.

Last July, Raven-Symoné spoke with PEOPLE about being body-shamed in the early 2000s when she was a rising teenage star on the Disney Channel.

“My whole life is kind of based on what the industry wants. Other people controlled my hair, my eyebrows, my clothing, my words, everything. There was definitely a seesaw within my mind,” she told the outlet. “I prevailed over it because at the end of the day, it’s like, ‘Come on, people, everybody’s a different size.'”

What Really Inspired Raven-Symoné's Weight-Loss Journey

Raven-Symoné red lipstick

Actor Raven-Symoné is perhaps best known for entertaining the world with her show "That's So Raven." That said, she has plenty of impressive acting credits to her name (via IMDb ). The star has also been in the news recently for losing a lot of weight — something that she consciously decided to do in a bid to take care of her health.

Per Eat This, Not That! , the actor reached her turning point after visiting a doctor and finding out that the situation was scary. She mentioned on Australia's " Today Show ," "My numbers came back and it scared the bejesus out of me. I've always dealt with weight my entire life ... surpassing 200 pounds at some points, going under 150 at other points."

After the appointment, she felt concerned enough about her health to bring it up with her wife, Miranda Maday, and told her that she needed to switch things up. "There was a moment recently where I sat down with my wife and I was just like, 'This has to stop,'" Symoné added. The actor then came up with a plan that was doable for her.

Raven-Symoné used several techniques to achieve her goals

Per Eat This, Not That! , one of the first things Raven-Symoné decided to do was switch to an eating style that was low in carbs and high in fat. She said that this trick helped her stay full for longer periods of time. Along with "lots of fasting," Symoné also started exercising on a regular basis and learned to let go of stress. As Symoné told Australia's " Today Show ," "As soon as I stopped hating things around me and my cortisol went down, I was able to not rely on carbs as much and take away all of those things that were really pushing my insulin levels to the point of no return, creating an insulin resistance in me that is very dangerous for future health."

Symoné also said that therapy, her fulfilling relationship, and approaching things differently really helped bring down her stress levels. She also did not rely on a "particular weight goal" and gauged her fitness levels in other ways. She gave an example: "What I look at is: Am I able to walk up a flight of stairs without huffing and puffing?"

For her, being healthy and prioritizing her well-being is the ultimate goal. She explained, "I'm not trying to hit a goal number, I'm just trying to stay healthy." What an inspiring mindset, huh?

Raven-Symoné has lost a “s–t ton” of weight.

The former Disney star proudly flaunted her results in an Instagram Live on Sunday alongside her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday.

“Pounds down, pounds down,” she announced in the clip . “Check out the chin, babe.”

The 35-year-old added, “I got a whole different face going on, like, it’s a whole pounds down journey.”

The former “The View” co-host shared that she has lost a total of 28 pounds so far before letting out a joyful, “Woo! I lost a s–t ton of weight.”

“You’re incredible, honey,” Maday, 33, said in support. “You’re doing so good.”

Symoné gave some insight into how she’s shedding the weight, telling her followers that she’s doing a 48-hour fast and had just returned from a 30-minute walk around the neighborhood.

She and her wife also revealed that they embarked on an exercise “challenge” together, which they will share more of on their YouTube channel.

“I think it’s safe to say it’s kind of transformative,” Maday said.

“I mean, do you see that jawline right now?” Symoné replied with a big smile. “It looks like I have a neck!”

Raven Symoné, pictured (left) in 2020 and (right) in 2021, will open up more about her weight loss on YouTube.

Fans praised the actress for getting fit, writing in the comments, “Congratulations on the pounds down. So proud and happy for you.”

Another added, “Come thru jawline!!!”

In 2017, Symoné opened up about dealing with mental health issues that stemmed from years of bullying due to her weight.

“I love embracing your body,” she told People at the time before disclosing she was questioned over her size when embarking on her music career. “I was too big to be doing an hour and a half concert. ‘I don’t know how she can dance being that big.’”

In 2015, Symoné shared with her “The View” co-hosts that while appearing on “The Cosby Show” as a child, she recalls developing problems with food.

“I remember not being able to have the bagel or anything at — we would call it crafty, where it’s just a table of food, ready for you to eat whatever you want,” she said. “And I remember people would be like, ‘You can’t eat that. You’re getting fat!’ I’m like, ‘I’m 7! I’m hungry!’”

Raven-Symoné Reveals How She Dropped 40 Pounds & What Inspired Her Slow But Steady Weight Loss

Mar. 31 2022, Published 1:06 p.m. ET

Actress Raven-Symoné has been a body positivity advocate since her hit series That's So Raven debuted on the Disney Channel in 2003, but over the past few years, the star realized it was in her best interest to lose some weight.

The 36-year-old dished on her health journey when she and wife Miranda Maday appeared on the March 30 episode of The View .

"What made me want to change was her. I want to be here for her as long as I can," the Cheetah Girls star revealed, referencing Maday, whom she wed in 2020. The actress noted that a recent visit to the doctor also acted as a wake-up call.

"I found out some numbers at the doctor that were not pleasant for someone in my age bracket or any age bracket, to be honest with you," she explained. "And with [Maday's] help and guidance and love and fantastic cooking skills, she helped me kick sugar. I say kick sugar because it is an addictive drug. I was addicted to it in wheat form, in regular form, and it's out of my system."

The star and Maday

The Daytime Emmy winner hasn't ditched certain foods altogether, but she's replaced things like brownies with keto-friendly cookies and "whole" foods.

"I actually talk to someone here at The View every day about fasting because I'm also an intermittent faster and an extended faster as well," she noted. Symoné revealed that she currently weighs 170 lbs., which is a significant drop from 2016, when she weighed 210 lbs.

The Raven's Home star shared that shaping up has also boosted her confidence. So much so, that when she and her wife started recording a YouTube show during the pandemic, she didn't put on a stitch of makeup. "It feels so good to be in my own hair and face," she gushed.

Growing up, the Atlanta native was often bullied for her weight, which caused her to develop "so many mental issues," she previously spilled to PEOPLE .

Because of her own experiences, she's always encouraging the youth to find confidence from within.

"I love embracing your body. In this day and age you have all kinds, and it’s funny, it’s serious, it’s every color, it’s every head shape, it’s every hair. And there’s androgyny, and there’s LGBT coming in, and it feels good," explained the "Backflip" singer. "We didn’t have it enough last time and I guess that’s what the past is for — to make sure the present is what it needs to be."

Raven Symone Weight Loss Journey: How She Lost 40 Pounds

Over the last few years, Raven Symone has been working to put her health first and fans are taking notice. The former "The View" host returned to the talk show for its special season 25 celebration and during the episode, she opened up about her recent weight loss .

While visiting "The View" co-host Joy Behar noticed her visible weight loss and said, “You lost a lot of weight!” The 36-year-old was at first reluctant to share how much weight she had lost, but then revealed she had slashed 40 lbs.

Raven Symone mentioned,

When I ended this show and I started Raven’s Home I was 210 lb. I am now 170 .

With her incredible 40 pounds weight loss, the co hosts shared how proud they were and asked how and what drove her to make such a change. Raven Symone responded,

What made me want to change was her, gesturing to her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, who sat next to her on the set. I want to be here for her as long as I can, and I found out some numbers at the doctor that were not pleasant for someone in my age bracket or any age bracket, to be honest with you.

She also mentioned, With my wife's guidance, love and fantastic cooking skills, which everyone here knows, she helped me kick sugar. And I say kick sugar because it is an addictive drug. I was addicted to it in wheat form, in regular form, and it’s out of my system.

She prefers intermittent fasting, focuses on low carb foods and enjoys whole foods. Raven Symone added that with her wife’s help she does eat have a cheat meal like eating cookies but opts for a keto friendly version.

Symone hired nutrition expert, Philip Goglia to incorporate healthy eating habits into her life. Goglia had Symone switch from three big meals to six small meals in a day. Apart from inculcating bountiful nutrient-dense foods such as fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds, Raven Symone eliminated fast foods such as pizza, burgers, potato chips and French fries from her diet.

She also kept their consumption restrained to one day a week. Additionally, She also swapped junk foods with nutrient-loaded foods such as almonds, baked pears, agave syrup etc.

She didn't get along with exercise and hence she followed a quick and regular walk.

Challenges Faced by Raven Symone

jpg_20220702_221441_0000

Despite her self-assurance as an adult, the former child star dealt with a lot of negative treatment during her sitcom days, including body-shaming — both on the set of the Bill Cosby series and her show,  That’s So Raven.

I remember not being able to have the bagel or anything at [craft services] — we call it crafty — where it’s just a table of food ready for you to eat whenever you want,” the New York native revealed on The View in July 2015. And I remember people were like, ‘You can’t eat that. You’re getting fat.’ I’m like, ‘I’m 7! I’m hungry!

Her mental and physical health were both significant factors in her weight gain over the years. “It’s more than what’s just the food — it’s what’s in the food,” Raven explained. “Your cortisol level and your serotonin level have a really strong influence on your body type.”

She starred in the Disney series from 2003 to 2007, and by the end of its run, she was at her “heaviest” weight, which she noted was around 185 pounds. At that time, Raven said people would consistently ask her if she was pregnant. “I’m like, ‘No, I’m fat, get away from me.’ This goes through all of our industry, just fat-shaming in general,” the View alum said. “Not accepting of females’ bodies.”

While Raven-Symoné had previously lost 70 pounds in 2011, she says that the emotional ramifications of the transformation made her weight loss unsustainable.

"The way people were treating me when I was bigger was emotionally damaging," she had said.

Symone is as contented with her present weight as when she was 200 pounds. That’s a super attitude indeed and we all shall endeavour to shadow the same attitude in our lives.

Raven-Symoné is feeling better than ever after losing 30+ pounds in just three months and she opened up about her journey in an exclusive interview with "Good Morning America" Friday.

"I'm not over here trying to be a little twig," the "That's So Raven," alum told "GMA." "I'm not trying to be, like, 'Oh my God, look at me.' I have a goal in mind and it's not just weight loss, it's complete body health."

Teen shares weight-loss journey with the help of Wegovy

VIDEO: Mom and daughter share teen's weight loss journey

For years, Demi Buckley has struggled with obesity.

The 16-year-old told "Good Morning America" that despite living an active lifestyle, she started gaining a lot of weight when she was in elementary school.

"When I started puberty in fifth grade, that's when I started gaining a lot of weight," Demi said.

Today, Demi is one of many teens who have turned to prescription medications to help with obesity.

MORE: As weight loss drugs' popularity grows, teens turn to Wegovy for help

Demi's mom Deana Buckley said seeing her daughter's struggle, along with her own experience losing nearly 150 pounds while taking Mounjaro , a prescription drug containing tirzepatide, convinced her to talk to her daughter's doctor about getting her a prescription as well.

With her doctor's approval, Demi began taking the prescription weight-loss medication Wegovy , which contains semaglutide , in April 2023 at the age of 15.

Demi would end up losing 55 pounds, going from 198 to 143 pounds.

"This year for cheer, when I tried on my old uniform, it was way too big and that was just a huge confidence booster," Demi said.

simone weight loss journey

Buckley said having Demi on Wegovy has made a significant impact.

"She's done basketball. She's done volleyball. She has done marching band. She has done cheer. And the weight just wasn't coming off until she had the healthy eating, the sports, going to the gym, and then adding the GLP-1 medication to it," Buckley said.

GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy can work by slowing digestion and reducing hunger cues in the brain and stomach, which may lead to weight loss. Side effects of such drugs may include gastrointestinal issues like nausea and abdominal pain.

The Food and Drug Administration approved Wegovy for use in adolescents 12 and up in December 2022.

Last year, the American Academy of Pediatrics issued new guidelines and recommended the integration of prescription weight-loss medications as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for children with obesity, a condition that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says now impacts 1 in 5 kids and teens in the U.S.

Experts say teens may also be susceptible to eating disorders and should be screened by doctors.

MORE: 1 in 10 teen girls have used diet pills, laxatives or diuretics, study estimates

Dr. Alyson Weiner, an assistant professor of pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, told "GMA" that doctors treat obesity as a chronic condition.

"We're treating obesity as a chronic disease really, not because of a number on a scale but to reduce any long-term health risks," Weiner said. "These medications are really important and have changed how we manage pediatric as well as adult obesity."

Demi said she doesn't want to lose any additional weight and wants to now focus on building her muscles.

"I hype myself up a lot now and it's amazing because I never would have imagined doing that back when I was bigger," the teen said.

Despite some backlash from others, Buckley also said she has no regrets about introducing her daughter to prescription weight-loss medications.

"I know that it was the right thing to do for her when she herself says, 'I'm happy at this weight,'" Buckley said. "We want other parents and other children to know that there is hope out there."

Rebel Wilson on Trying Ozempic and 2-Hour Workouts for 75-Pound Weight Loss

  • Rebel Wilson shares the latest developments of her weight loss journey in interviews prefacing her memoir, Rebel Rising , and the book itself.
  • She revealed that she works out two hours a day, “one hour with a trainer focused on strength and conditioning, and one hour doing my own cardio (which was usually walking),” she wrote.
  • She also said that she tried Ozempic, a type 2 diabetes drug made popular, in part, for its weight loss side effect.

Rebel Wilson’s “Year of Health” spanned 2020 (which kicked off her weight loss transformation ) and 2024 is a year that’s just as monumental. It’s the year her memoir Rebel Rising debuted (on April 2). In the book, she details her 75-pound weight loss journey (which includes working out two hours a day!) and trying Ozempic.

Wilson set out to lose weight for a variety of reasons that have nothing to do with appearing smaller. She wanted to prioritize her fertility and address her relationship with food as someone who calls herself an “emotional eater,” she told People . She also adjusted her lifestyle to accommodate her polycystic ovarian syndrome , a hormonal disorder that caused her to gain a significant amount of weight, she told E! News in 2020.

In fact, she told People that she was always a “proud fat female.” She just held a lot of shame attached to her eating behaviors, she said. “I wasn’t hating myself, I was only hating those shameful behaviors,” she explained. “For example, eating a whole tub of ice cream every night and then feeling bad about myself, making myself get up early in the morning and go to the gym for an hour and a half and running on that treadmill until sometimes my back would hurt.”

At the height of her health journey, Wilson said she worked out with her trainer, Jono Castano, seven days a week . Workouts included hiking , walking , and even tire-flipping . In Rebel Rising , she says that, nowadays, a workout looks like this: “Exercise for about two hours—one hour with a trainer focused on strength and conditioning, and one hour doing my own cardio (which was usually walking),” she writes, per Women’s Health .

Before embarking on her year of health, Wilson told People that she ate upwards of 3,000 calories most days. “And because they were normally carbs, I would still be hungry,” she said. “So, I’ve really changed to eating a high-protein diet, which is challenging because I didn’t used to eat a lot of meat. I eat fish, salmon, and chicken breast.”

Although Wilson certainly changed her habits to meet her goals, she recently told The Sunday Times that she’s not against medications like Ozempic , a type 2 diabetes drug sometimes used off-label due to its main active ingredient semaglutide, which has known weight loss side effects. In fact, she told the outlet she tried it herself, but no longer uses it.

“Someone like me could have a bottomless appetite for sweets, so I think those drugs can be good,” she said. Still, she doesn’t condone the weight loss-obsessive culture. “I feel strongly that young women shouldn’t try to obsess over looking like Victoria’s Secret models—they should just look like themselves,” she said.

If the last four years have taught Wilson anything, it’s that the answer to weight loss is no “magic pill, or some sick special diet, or exercise regime or whatever,” she told People . “It’s literally about working at a healthier way to deal with your emotions, and there is no magic solution.” That’s the message she hopes her book will get across. “Maybe me telling my story might encourage [people] to do the same and make healthy change in their lives,” she said.

Since getting engaged to Ramona Agruma last year, Wilson admitted that she’s embraced the lax end of that balance. “You know when you feel comfortable in your relationship, and you’re just like, f*** it?” she recently told People . “I have been eating whatever. I have been eating some junk food on set, because sets are prevalent with that. I just haven’t even thought about it. So I put on 20 pounds in the last six months with that insane schedule.”

Weight fluctuations are a normal part of life, and something many people experience. And Wilson has been honest with followers about her own. Since she initially met her goal weight in 2020, there have been highs and lows. In January, for example, she shared a hot tub selfie to tell fans that the stress of work and writing her book led her to gain 30 pounds. In addition to her new relationship, she became a mom in November 2022, which has made it more difficult to focus on healthy habits.

“I think once this press tour is over for the book, I’ll just go back to a bit more of a normal schedule and working out how I can be a mum and also take an hour or two in my day to be healthy,” she told People .

The 35-year-old explained she's "low carb as much as I can be" and she does "very minimal exercise." One of her tricks is being "an avid faster," adding that she will make sure she has "a minimum of 14-hour fast" between dinner and breakfast.

Symoné also goes on longer fasts, a method she has carefully educated herself on, and she gets through them by drinking lots of water and electrolytes as well as having some bone broth if things get difficult.

Symoné has been in the spotlight since the age of 3, starring on "The Cosby Show," being a Disney Channel teen sensation, and then co-hosting "The View" for three seasons as an adult. With that fame came stress and emotional eating.

The actress recalled a time in 2011 when she was had lost 70 pounds but felt that she couldn't celebrate her achievement.

"The way people were treating me while I was bigger was emotionally damaging," she said. "So when I lost weight ... and I remember the moment I went on the red carpet and in my head I was cussing everyone out. I'm like, 'Wow, now you want to look at me because I'm skinny, thanks.'"

Symoné said losing weight this time isn't about fitting into smaller-sized jeans -- it's about being healthy now to ensure a healthier future for herself and her life with wife Miranda Pearman-Maday.

Oprah Winfrey knows her career journey is nothing short of amazing, but she’ll never forget where she came from.

The 70-year-old media magnate, cultural trailblazer and philanthropist is overwhelmed with appreciation for her journey and the numerous honors she has received, including three Golden Globes, two primetime Emmy Awards, and 18 Daytime Emmys.

“I sound like a broken record,” she shared, “but gratitude really is my religion.”

Winfrey — who rose to prominence with “The Oprah Winfrey Show” from September 1986 to May 2011 — spoke with People for their 50th anniversary special issue. She affirmed her lifelong commitment to encouraging and uplifting others, saying she would advise her younger self to “Hold on, girl. Hold on to yourself.”

“The most important thing is to remain centered so whether you’re on the cover of People or not, your identity isn’t tied to what the rest of the world says it is,” Winfrey continued. “Being able to not get confused by what the external says about your internal self is the most important thing for anybody who’s going to take the fame ride.”

She credits her ability to stay grounded throughout her career with her prior work experience, having been in TV since she was 19 after growing up in the church.

Winfrey attributes her exceptional ability to simplify complex thoughts and emotions to her early life experiences.

“Well, when I was a little kid living on a dirt road in Mississippi , I was the one that was always playing the teacher,” said Winfrey. “And if we were playing house, I was the mother. Even if I was the younger girl, I would have to be the mother over everybody else. Some people call that bossy — I just call it, well, I know better, so I should be the one. I would have to say that teaching is my first love.”

Winfrey acknowledges the welcome support of late poetess and author Maya Angelou in her career’s early years, as well as longtime best friend Gayle King and acting legend Sidney Poitier before he passed.

“I’ve never been to a therapist because I had so many on the show, but my real therapy came from downloading whatever was happening in the day with Gayle [King] every night,” said Winfrey. “There wasn’t a day that we missed being on some kind of phone call talking about what had happened in our days. I realized years later, talking to an expert about something else, that that was my therapy, that was my release. It was the way I regulated myself every day.”

As for fears for her 70s, the OWN founder and namesake mentioned her health, noting that she doesn’t live with a fear of death but rather a conscious acknowledgment that it’s possible at any time.

“When I turned 50, Maya Angelou wrote a poem for me,” Winfrey told People. “She says, ‘I have nothing to give you, but my heart and my words,’ and she wrote a poem called ‘Continue.’ One of the most important lines from that poem is, ‘My wish for you is that you continue to astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness.’ And that is what I intend to do.”

Chelsea Blackwell Opens Up About Her Recent Weight Loss: All About The 'Love Is Blind' Star's Health Journey

The 31-year-old made a few small changes to feel "amazing."

preview for Love is Blind season 6 reunion trailer (Netflix)

But post- Love Is Blind, Chelsea seems to be thriving . In an April 4 Instagram Story, the 31-year-old posted shared before-and-after photos of a recent weight loss.

In the pics, Chelsea poses in front of a mirror, wearing a sports bra and pair of leggings. In the second shot, she’s flexing her bicep for the camera. “Before [and] after, absolutely insane the difference in how I look and feel,” she wrote.

Here’s everything Chelsea has shared about her health journey.

She began losing weight for her energy and mental health.

Chelsea first opened up about her weight loss in an April 3 TikTok , telling her followers that she's experienced some "amazing progress" by making a few small changes. "I’m not a nutritionist by any means," she said. "I’ve never been a small girl my entire life and I’m okay with that. I love her and she’s healthy and she’s strong."

Chelsea said she decided to mix things up because she didn’t feel healthy. "I wasn’t feeling strong," she said. "It was affecting my mental health and it was affecting my energy level, so I just decided to change things."

She started intermittent fasting.

Chelsea shared that she started doing intermittent fasting , adding that she doesn't typically begin eating until noon. She also began following a high-protein diet with “as many fruits and vegetables as possible." Chelsea said that she drinks 90 ounces of water a day, too.

"I know this is not a secret [but] when I eat better, I feel better," she said. "I feel more focused. I feel clearer. I can think better."

"I don't cut anything out," she continued. "I'm not hard on myself by any means. But I feel better."

She walks every day.

Chelsea said she’s not really into the gym, but she's found other ways to get fit. "I just like to get a little lift in to feel good, but the main key component...that really resulted in my weight loss is walking," she said. "I will walk 45 minutes a day, either in the afternoon, during the sunset, or in the morning, so I can get it out of the way."

Chelsea said her walks are about more than fitness, adding that she'll listen to a podcast or meditate during them. "That’s just my 'me time' and it just makes me happy," she shared.

"If you're fueling your body and you're exercising, you're only gonna be presenting your best self possible, and that's why I decided to change my routine," she added.

Congrats, Chelsea!

Love Is Blind ’s Chelsea Blackwell Shares 'Amazing Progress' in Her Weight Loss Journey: 'I Love My Body'

“I feel better. My skin feels better, I look better and I'm able to deliver my best possible self to everyone else around me," the reality star said

Love Is Blind season 6 star Chelsea Blackwell is opening up about her recent weight loss journey.

On April 2, the 31-year-old posted a TikTok video explaining that she’s gotten a lot of DMs about her health so she decided to offer some tips to how she’s made “amazing progress” recently.

"I love my body," she began the video. "I've never been a small girl my entire life, and I'm okay with that. Why I decided to change what I was doing was because I wasn't feeling healthy. I wasn't feeling strong. It was affecting my mental health and it was affecting my energy levels."

Noting that she’s not a nutritionist, Blackwell said she started intermittent fasting, juicing, drinking a lot more water, getting better sleep and staying active.

"When I eat, I stick to as many fruits and vegetables as possible," she explained. "I have a lot of protein. Protein is what I try to have all my meals based on… That's my diet normally. When I eat better, I feel better. I feel more focused. I feel clearer. I can think better."

Blackwell added that she’s “not a huge gym girl” but she tries to get her body moving every day, saying that she’s also used influencer Whitney Simmons ’ fitness app.

"The main key component to something I think resulted in my weight loss is walking," she explained. "I will walk 45 minutes a day. It's really my time to meditate and listen to podcasts. That's my ‘me time' and it makes me happy."

The reality star said she hasn’t lost “that much” weight, but she’s simply fueling her body with better things and it’s made her look and feel better.

“I’m not hard on myself, by any means. But I feel better," she said in the clip. "My skin feels better, I look better and I'm able to deliver my best possible self to everyone else around me."

This isn’t the first time Blackwell has opened up about her overall health.

In February, she revealed that she started therapy after filming Love Is Blind and the practice has transformed her life.

"I've never seeked [sic] a therapist before but man oh man, I feel everyone could benefit from having an unbiased opinion," she wrote on her Instagram Stories.

"I had a ton of inner issues I needed to debunk and my life, my mindset, my heart has completely changed," she continued. "I thought I loved myself before but I have never felt THIS kind of love."

To someone who said they noticed a new "glow" about her now that she wasn't on the show, Blackwell wrote: "The most special compliment. The woman I am today has come very far from the woman on the show and I'm very proud of my growth."

Carnie Wilson Turned Down Ozempic for 40-Lb Weight Loss Despite Doctor Suggestion (Exclusive)

Carnie Wilson Turned Down Ozempic for 40-Pound Weight Loss Despite Doctor Suggestion

Carnie Wilson lost 40 pounds in an effort to feel better and live a healthier life, and she did it without Ozempic.

Not that it was never an option. Wilson, 55, says her doctor suggested Ozempic to aid in her weight loss, but “it just wasn’t for me.”

“I was too scared of side effects,” she exclusively told Us Weekly while discussing her new cooking show, Sounds Delicious With Carnie Wilson . “And I think it’s great. It’s worked for a lot of people, and I just don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t think we know enough about it for this purpose.”

Instead, Wilson cut gluten and sugar from her diet, leaning on her own discipline to manage a healthier diet.

“I just listened to a voice inside of me, which was, ‘gluten and sugar are not your friend,’” she explained. “You need to stop eating that. And that’s the voice I listened to. And it’s working.”

She’s started to feel better, as well. Wilson thought back to how she felt pre–weight loss, saying she experienced “just a lot of abdominal pain and just feeling bloated and gross and just completely inflamed.”

Carnie, daughter of Beach Boys cofounder Brian Wilson , hopes that her diet change and weight loss serve as examples to her two children, Lola, 18 and Luci, 14.

“It kind of makes you a better person all around,” she said. “Probably a better chef, a better mother, and all these things.”

Lola and Luci are sisters, but Carnie explains they have plenty of differences, physically and socially. At a time when young women are pressured to look or behave a certain way, Carnie hopes to instill self-confidence in her kids — and that starts at home.

“I always say don’t compare yourself to other people because you are your own special person and everyone is beautiful,” she said. “Find something you like about yourself. … Self-confidence comes from believing in yourself and giving to other people.”

Carnie isn’t the only celebrity to eschew Ozempic. Chelsea Handler stopped using it after she learned more about the drug, calling it “too irresponsible.” Scheana Shay , Kate Winslet and Kyle Richards have also spoken out against it.

Tracy Morgan and Amy Schumer , meanwhile, have both admitted to trying Ozempic, and Kelly Osbourne spoke in support of the drug, calling it “amazing.”

Sounds Delicious With Carnie Wilson premieres on AXS TV Tuesday, April 16 at 8:30 p.m. ET. Her first guest will be Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath , with Lisa Loeb , Dee Snider and more also scheduled to appear on the show.
