Take 6 have traveled far and accomplished a lot with their music. From collaborations with timeless legends like Ray Charles and Whitney Houston to performances at the White House, the collective power of Take 6’s incredible voices have propelled them to places they could only have dreamed about. The accapella sextet sing in an uplifting gospel style with contemporary RnB influences that can’t help but make your spirit soar. It’s no wonder these guys can list multiple Grammys amongst their accomplishments.

Audiences are always surprised and impressed by the vocal and dynamic range they give off. With multiple melodies playfully intertwined, Take 6 are a flawless technical wonder who manage to pull off blazing vocal acrobatics each night without ever dropping a note. As the members take it in turns to sing leads, the energy in the room builds the crowd can’t help but get involved, cheering and clapping along as it becomes less of a gig and more of a celebration. Take 6 are proof that there is no limit to what the human voice can achieve and are definitely a must see act.

This is such a difficult review for me as I have been a long time fan since the late 80s, and have attended several concerts of the group's to include North Sea jazz festival. I brought my sons to experience their very first live concert. They brought cd covers to have autographed but was told by Claude McKnight that they must buy cds at the venue to receive autographs. My thought was that they purchased the ones they had just not that night. It's my observation that once off stage the total performance stopped. On a more positive note, Joey Kibble's words encouraging a relationship with Jesus was on point. Needless to say I am sure I nor my sons would return to a Take 6 concert. I could not in true honesty recommend because of our personal experience. Bottom line turned out to be a great learning experience for my boys.

This was my best Take 6 experience ever! Great voices in an intimate location... And evening packed with groove, soul, goosebumps and awe! And the guys love their audience as well. What more can one want except that the evening never ends..,

Folly Frolic: Take 6

Iconic vocals..

Legendary Theater.

Tickets on sale now!

10 GRAMMY Awards. 10 Dove Awards. Gospel Music Hall of Famers. And more!

TAKE 6  (Claude McKnight, Mark Kibble, Joel Kibble, Dave Thomas, Alvin Chea and Khristian Dentley), heralded by  Quincy Jones  as the “ baddest vocal cats on the planet! ”, is the quintessential a cappella group and the model for vocal genius. They are the preeminent and best a cappella group in the world.

With 10 Grammy Awards, 10 Dove Awards, a Soul Train Award, and membership in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, this musical phenomenon has six virtuosic voices united in crystal clear harmony, against a backdrop of syncopated rhythms, innovative arrangements, and funky grooves that bubble into an intoxicating brew of gospel, jazz, R&B, and pop.

With collaborations and praise from such luminaries as Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Brian Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald, and Whitney Houston, the multi-platinum selling sextet has toured across the globe, collaborated across genres, and is recognized as the pre-eminent a cappella group in the world.

With their recent appearances and releases, including their upcoming recording tentatively titled A Work Of Art and most recent recording ICONIC , Take 6 emerged on seven Billboard Charts simultaneously and have seen their music played all over the country in various formats! In April 2022, the legendary group took to Capitol Hill for Grammys On The Hill to advocate for musicians’ rights and work.

With the popularity of televised vocal competitions such as the explosive a cappella show “The Sing Off” and the mania over singing driven comedy-dramas like “Glee” and “Smash”, Take 6 is the original torchbearer. Major public and corporate events remind everyone of this as Take 6 has triumphed among a gathering of stars including Celine Dion, Lionel Richie, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Nicks, and Ne-Yo at Walmart’s 50th Anniversary celebration; at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards where Take 6 captivated the SOLD-OUT audience performing with and honoring legendary singer-songwriter Ben E. King on his classic “Stand By Me” which earned a standing ovation; and as a group that knows no musical bounds, they brought the house down with their tribute to folk icon Woody Guthrie with “This Land Is Your Land.”

Take 6 has come a long way from their days at Huntsville, Alabama’s Oakwood College where McKnight formed the group as The Gentleman’s Estate Quartet in 1980. The group eventually became known as Alliance, but when they signed to Reprise Records in 1987, they found that there was another group with the same name, so they became Take 6. Their self-titled debut CD won over jazz and pop critics, and they’ve never slowed down.

What makes the music and the group last this long? The answers are direct and simple: faith, friendship, respect, and love of music. From their exceptional Christmas Show to their innovative Symphony show, these qualities are at the heart of the Take 6 phenomenon.

Rory McIlroy to Rejoin PGA Tour Policy Board, per Report

The world No. 2 resigned his position as a player director on the board six months ago.

  • Author: Bob Harig

Six months after resigning his position as a player director on the PGA Tour Policy Board, Rory McIlroy is apparently set to rejoin the group, at the behest of former U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson.

The Guardian newspaper in the United Kingdom reported Monday that Simpson is looking to resign his spot among the six player directors and has asked that McIlroy return to take his position.

The PGA Tour declined to comment on the report.

The Guardian cited sources in saying that McIlroy, No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking and a four-time major champion, would return to the board which would also include a position on the board of the newly-created PGA Tour Enterprises.

Such an appointment would need the approval of the 12 members of the PGA Tour Policy Board, which include player directors Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, Patrick Cantlay, Peter Malnati, Jordan Spieth and Simpson. A PGA Tour official said that Simpson has not resigned his position.

Spieth replaced McIlroy on the board last fall after the Northern Irishman said he wanted to focus more of his efforts inside the ropes . When he arrives at the PGA Championship next month in Louisville, Ky., he will return to the place where he won his last major title 10 years ago.

McIlroy, who had been an outspoken critic of the LIV Golf League before softening in recent months , was among the top players who sought changes to the PGA Tour schedule that would enhance player benefits, such as the signature events.

“Rory’s resignation letter, which he sent to the full board, clearly stated that the difficult decision was made due to professional and personal commitments,” said Jay Monahan, the PGA Tour’s commissioner, at the time of his resignation. “Given the extraordinary time and effort that Rory—and all his fellow player directors—have invested in this unprecedented, transformational period in our history, we certainly understand and respect his decision to step down in order to focus on his game and his family.”

A return to the board could signal McIlroy’s desires to see an end to the stalemate that has seen the PGA Tour and DP World Tour on opposite ends of a framework agreement with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, which backs LIV Golf.

McIlroy has met Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the governor of the PIF, and while he said again last week that he has no plans to ever join LIV Golf, he has made it clear that he believes a deal is necessary.

“Fundamentally he wants to do the right thing,” McIlroy said of Al-Rumayyan last month at the Players Championship. “I think I've said this before, I have spent time with Yasir and his—the people that have represented him in LIV I think have done him a disservice ... so (LIV commissioner Greg) Norman and those guys.

“I see the two entities, and I think there's a big ... I actually think there's a really big disconnect between PIF and LIV. I think you got PIF over here and LIV are sort of over here doing their own thing. So the closer that we can get to Yasir, PIF and hopefully finalize that investment, I think that will be a really good thing.”

LIV Golf is in its third year and has signed several big-name players to lucrative guaranteed contracts, including three of the past six major champions—Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm and Cam Smith.

Asked how he viewed the distinction between LIV and the PIF, McIlroy said: “I think their disruptiveness and his—their disruptiveness, and then his ... I don't know what the right word is ... I guess his desire to be involved in the world of golf in a productive way.”

Since then, Al-Rumayyan met with Monahan and all of the player directors, including Woods, in the Bahamas .

Caleb Williams is officially a member of “Da Bears.”

On Thursday, April 25, the Chicago franchise selected the Heisman Trophy-winning USC quarterback with the first pick in the NFL Draft.

Williams joins a Bears team that went 7-10 in 2023; in order to bolster their roster heading into 2024, coach Matt Eberflus’ squad added Pro Bowlers D’Andre Swift and Keenan Allen over the offseason.

With all the new talent in the clubhouse — along with 2023 standouts wide receiver D.J. Moore, and tight end Cole Kmet — Chicago looks to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2018.

And if you want to be there to root the new-look squad on at Soldier Field , you can pick up tickets for all hypothetical home games as soon as today.

Although the schedule isn’t technically set yet, the team has announced they will play rivals like the Detroit Lions , Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings on their home gridiron.
