Recent tour reviews

The Mirror was an experience that I will cherish for a lifetime. At first I thought the hype behind the “theme” of the tour would ruin it for me, but The Maine executed a perfect set of exhilaration, energy, and euphoria. The music was injected with an amazing arrangement of instruments, lyrics that rock your soul, and an energy that got the whole crowd moving, from mosh pit to crowd surf. The lights show was magnificent as was the screen behind the band with powerful graphics and lyric depiction. The Maine is your favorite small band that provides the show of a big band. 8123 means everything to me.

The Maine are one of the best bands to see live, for anyone regardless of their music taste. These guys have been touring for a decade and have a huge fan base. They have a ton of experience involving the crowd and bringing their concerts to another level. They have plenty of albums with different sounds, so chances are you'll find something that clicks for you!

This concert was no different, they played a good bit from their last two albums (my personal favorites) and they always closeout with the perfect ending - Another Night on Mars.

This was the first time I went to Ambrose west and while the setup was very clean and organized, the heat was almost unbearable. It was a sold out show but there really isn't any ceiling fans to cool down the crowd. Even the Maine mentioned the heat several times.

Parking is fine, about two minutes down the street there is plenty of lots.

The Maine 10/10

Attended the modern nostalgia tour. It was a super great light show, looked really really cool from my angle. The lead singer was pretty funny, he had this whole thing he spoke about Donald Trump, it made me laugh XD IDK if this is their choice or not, but they always seem to have good openers, which is always a plus since I like to stay for the whole thing :) I liked this tour more than the typical album tours because they played the albums back to back and that was so awesome. 10/10 would recommend!!! Only thing I would critique was that the openers had a lower sound than The Maine and honestly I would've preferred it to be quieter during The Maine's set, it was kinda hard to hear the vocals over the instrumentals.

The Maine announce 2022 ‘XOXO’ headlining tour

Posted by Logan White | Oct 18, 2021 | News | 0 |

The Maine announce 2022 ‘XOXO’ headlining tour

Earlier this year, The Maine dropped their highly-anticipated eight studio album, XOXO: From Love & Anxiety In Real Time . For the first time in their fifteen year career, the album gifted the band their first top 20 alternative radio hit with the album’s lead single, “Sticky,” which peaked at #11.

After initially promoting the album with the 2021 edition of Sad Summer Fest, a few side shows in between supporting All Time Low, and a UK Tour, The Maine is excited to announce their plans for a proper headlining tour of the U.S. in the spring of 2022. The Maine will kick off their 2022 with their hometown festival 8123 Fest, which takes place in January.

Then a few months later, The Maine kick off their nationwide tour including  twenty-six headlining shows across the country. Of the XOXO Tour, drummer Pat Kirch says, “ It will be our first headlining tour in over two years, we can’t wait to play long sets with songs from all the albums and properly welcome in the XOXO era!”

Tickets for the XOXO Tour go on sale Friday October 22nd at 9am Pacific Time, 12pm Eastern via the band’s website . Presale is available to members of the band’s Pillar community Wednesday October 20th at 10am local time. 8123 Priority Ticket subscribers can access the presale Thursday October 21st at 10am local time.

The Maine announce 8123 Fest lineup and date

John Hutchings August 26, 2021 Headline News , News , Tour Leave a comment

8123 Fest first originated in 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona as a tribute to and celebration of The Maine’s hometown. It provided an opportunity for fans worldwide to experience the desert where their favorite band originated, as well as rewarded the local fanbase with a true festival experience.

Since then, the festival has only grown – seeing it double in size and sell out in its second year (2019). Delayed by a year due to the pandemic, January 2022 is the official return to Phoenix for 8123 Fest. This time around, fans can not only expect the main festival date – but multiple side shows, a themed afterparty, an opportunity to get involved with an impactful volunteer day, and so much more. 8123 Fest provides fans with the chance to come together and get to know The Maine on a deeper level by experiencing the valley where they grew up.

“The weekend of the festival is our time to have all things The Maine happen in one place. Coming together are our friends that we have toured with plus the fans that we have met from all around the world, all in our hometown where the songs were written and where it all started. We are so excited for the return of 8123 Fest” says The Maine’s drummer Pat Kirch.

The festival is scheduled for Saturday January 22nd, with associated events happening from January 19th through 24th. 8123 Fest is proud to announce it’s mainstage lineup featuring headliners and festival founders The Maine.

the maine tour lineup

The band will be celebrating their fifteenth anniversary during the festival, have recently reached a new level of success through alt-radio with their hit single “Sticky”. The song was the first released track off of their new album XOXO: From Love & Anxiety In Real Time, and has been holding strong at #11 on the radio charts. The band is currently back on the road with Sad Summer Fest alongside All Time Low with no plans of slowing down anytime soon.

8123 Fest marks another special occasion – the reunion of The Summer Set, who will take the stage together for the first time in five years. Vocalist Brian Dales says, “If there’s any silver lining to such an arduous year, it’s that it brought us home to Arizona, forced us to look inward, and allowed us to make some new music again just for fun. When The Maine asked us if we wanted to join 8123 Fest, we knew it was time to put that music out into the world. We’ve been playing shows with The Maine for almost fifteen years now, including our last show together as a band at 8123 Fest in 2017. I think it’s time to pick up where that story left off in 2022.” Fans can also look forward to new music – The Summer Set have also announced a brand new single “Street Lightning” which drops Friday on Adventure Cat Records.

The festival is an opportunity for fans and bands to reunite and experience the magic that music holds in its ability to bring people together. And after nearly two years apart, it’s a promise of hope on the horizon.

Early Bird tickets for 8123 Fest are onsale now and can be purchased HERE .

The real deal..

I've been giving tours of my hometown of Portland, Maine for over 20 years, and in the offseason I'm a librarian at Southern Maine Community College. I have a Master's degree in Library Science, and I'm always digging into Portland’s history to find something new and interesting, while at the same time keeping on top of current happenings and making sure to visit as many local establishments (especially our world class restaurants and bars) that I can. I take pride in representing this city, and providing an authentic tour delivered with a true Mainer's sense of humor!

In addition to being a tour guide, I am a featured poet for the annual Longfellow Days festival where I perform my Portland history spoken word poem/rap (you'll hear some of my rap on the tour)!

Neil Young reunites with Crazy Horse after a decade, performs double encore

the maine tour lineup

On Thursday night, magic happened in Tennesseee.

Singer-songwriter Neil Young and rock band Crazy Horse came together to perform their hits over a two-hour show at FirstBank Amphitheater on their first tour together in a decade.

The 2024 "Love Earth Tour" features the now 78-year-old singer alongside the Los Angeles rock band yet again.

Canadian singer-songwriter Young, best known for songs "Heart of Gold," "Harvest Moon" and "Old Man," released the album "Fu##in' Up" with Crazy Horse on April 25, featuring nine rock 'n' roll tracks. The two have released 15 studio albums together.

Young and Crazy Horse kicked off their brief 16-stop tour on April 24 in San Diego and will continue with upcoming stops in Virginia, New Jersey, New York and more.

Thursday's concert in Franklin was originally slated for Wednesday evening, but was postponed by a day due to  inclement weather .

But Thursday night brought the calm after the storm; the evening was serene.

Neil Young returns to Spotify after 2-year hiatus following Joe Rogan controversy

After opener Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping , a musical performance art experience that draws from religion, Young hit the stage.

The set-up featured a backdrop with a galloping horse and giant speaker cabinets and road cases, the same ones Young took on the road with him for his "Rust Never Sleeps" tour in 1978.

Young appeared in a striped cap, a denim work shirt that featured paint splatters and a Spartan Truck Equipment patch, black pants, black shoes and of course, his guitar, Old Black .

He mentioned the venue's beauty multiple times — a stage nestled in the woods of Graystone Quarry in Thompson’s Station.

"How you doin out there? Nice to see you," Young said to the Franklin crowd.

"What a beautiful place. You guys are very lucky to have this place."

Alongside Young was the band, comprised of 80-year-old Billy Talbot on bass and 80-year-old Ralph Molina on drums. They also have a new member, Micah Nelson on guitar.

Nelson, Willie Nelson 's 33-year-old son, took over for the band's previous guitarist Nils Lofgren earlier this year.

Throughout the show, Neil Young and the band played a 17-song set, full with jam sessions and occasional harmonies. Young was energized and playful, captivating the crowd with his trademark nasally, emotional voice.

The set list was mostly comprised of older hits, like 1969's "Cinnamon Girl" and 1972's "Heart of Gold."

The band didn't play any songs from their recent album; the most recent song was 1996's "Scattered (Let's Think About Livin')." Nelson's big moment came during the tune; he traded his guitar to play a swinging keyboard that descended from the ceiling.

Young's guitar playing—both electric and acoustic—was adept and agile. Though Young shared in January he has been playing guitar with arthritis in his hand for years, audience members wouldn't have guessed.

He played the blues on song "Vampire Blues," hitting guitar licks with a precision like Stevie Ray Vaughan's. He also performed drawn-out, warping guitar solos on songs like "Like a Hurricane" and "Powderfinger."

Between songs, Young would hand his guitar off to his techs (who all wore white lab coats), but was audibly uncomfortable until he had a guitar in his arms yet again.

The night's concert walked the line between a Young that leaned into classic, grunge rock 'n' roll with Crazy Horse and a Young that gently cooed with Crosby, Stills & Nash in '69, strumming an acoustic.

Young pulled off the balancing act.

Here are some of the top moments from the night.

Neil Young opens with 'Cortez the Killer,' sings newly released verse

On a purple-lit stage, Neil Young and Crazy Horse kicked off the show with the 1975 song "Cortez the Killer."

The first lyrics from Young brought cheers from the audience as he sang, "He came dancing across the water / With his galleons and guns."

Young surprised fans at the first concert of the tour by singing unreleased lyrics to the song, ones he said did not record due to a power outage on the recording console in 1975.

Young found the lyric manuscript, he said in an interview mid-April this year.

The verse was lost for nearly 50 years. Young sang the verse again in Franklin.

“I floated on the water / I ate that ocean wave / Two weeks after the slaughter/ I was living in a cave / They came too late to get me / But there’s no one here to set me free / From this rocky grave / To that snowed-out ocean wave.”

Neil Young calls on local non-profits to support his eco-friendly mission

Neil Young has been vocal about his environmental efforts throughout his career .

In 1985, Young helped establish the annual Farm Aid concerts . In 2022, he released album "World Record," an album that focuses on climate change. Later that year, Young said he refused to play venues that are supported by factory farms .

The environmentalism was felt at his Franklin show.

Upon entering the concert, fans saw a series of tents and tables from local environmental organizations all hand picked by Young, including Tennessee Local Food . The organizations attended the concert and chatted with fans about their missions.

Young calls it the "LOVE EARTH Village."

At different stops on the tour, hundreds of non-profits working for sustainability and social equity will join to chat about issues like organic farming, wildlife protection, Native American rights and climate change solutions.

According to a venue employee, Young also changed the menu for the venue's offerings on Thursday, opting for more eco-friendly options (Coke products were nowhere to be seen).

On a handout at the venue, Young wrote, "Support your friends, support your land, and support the people that want to care for the land.

"The revolution starts with us. The revolution starts with you."

Neil Young goes acoustic mid-show, takes stage alone

At one point, Young took an empty stage, traded Old Black for an acoustic, and donned the harmonica around his neck.

He sang songs, "Comes a Time," "Heart of Gold" and "Human Highway" onstage alone, leaning into his folk singer-songwriter roots.

Despite the occasional hoot or holler in the audience, a hush crept over the amphitheater as Young sang, played plucky guitar and showcased his harmonica skills between verses.

It was a gentler, softer and more intimate side to the evening.

"Heart of Gold" stood out among the acoustic section.

Young sang his biggest hit: "Keep me searching / For a heart of gold / I've been a miner / For a heart of gold."

An encore and...another encore

Before the encore, Young ended his set with song "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)," leaving the audience with the classic and singing, "Hey hey, my my / Rock and roll can never die."

And it didn't die just then, Young and the band returned to the stage to play "Roll Another Number (For the Road)" as their encore.

After the song finished, the audience didn't stop cheering. Young and company came back to deliver a second encore, this time three songs long.

For encore two, they performed "Danger Bird," "Don't Cry No Tears" and "Sedan Delivery," ending the night on a grungy rock 'n' roll note that included pink lights and plenty of reverb.

Afterwards, the band and Young gathered arm-in-arm in a single spotlight and gave their final bow.

Maroon 5's Las Vegas residency kicks off this month, and tickets are going fast as the band's concert dates fill up. In addition to securing passes for their festival appearances this year, we've broken down how to buy Maroon 5 tickets for their concert tour below.

Originally formed in 1994, Maroon 5 is celebrating 30 years together as they kick off their Las Vegas residency at the Dolby Live at Park MGM. The new tour, referred to in shorthand as "M5LV: The Las Vegas Residency," is an extension of their 16-show residency last year. After their run in Las Vegas last year proved to be a huge hit, the group led by Adam Levine is back for another 16 shows at the Dolby Live theater this year.

Maroon 5's residency begins on May 17, and will feature performances in May, June, September, and October. The Dolby Live theater isn't the only location that Maroon 5 is performing at this year; the pop rock band is set to make festival appearances and headline other venues around North America throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

We've got you covered if you're looking for how to get tickets to Maroon 5's concert tour. Here's our breakdown of Maroon 5's residency and tour schedule, purchasing details, and original and resale ticket price comparisons. You can also browse ticket specifics at your leisure on StubHub and Vivid Seats .

Maroon 5 has 16 concert dates lined up for their Las Vegas residency in 2024. Their shows at the Dolby Live begin on May 17 before the band takes their final bow of the tour on October 12. Additionally, Maroon 5 has nine concerts scheduled for their 2024 tour in various cities around the country.

All concert times are listed in local time zones.

You can buy standard original tickets for Maroon 5's 2024 concert tour on Ticketmaster and Live Nation. Both their Las Vegas residency and outside tour dates still have options available. However, the quantity of remaining original tickets continues to decrease as each concert date approaches.

Passes to see Maroon 5 in their 2024 concert series are also available for purchase through verified ticket resale sites such as StubHub and Vivid Seats . You may find better luck with more variety in seating availability through these resale vendors.

Maroon 5 tickets for their 2024 concerts are generally less expensive than similar big-name acts on tour this year. Of course, original ticket prices for Maroon 5's 2024 tour vary depending on date, location, and demand for each show.

The cheapest standard original tickets for Maroon 5's Las Vegas residency dates begin at $75, while the lowest available prices for their shows elsewhere start at $40 for the band's Clarkston, Michigan concert on June 21. Generally, resale ticket prices for Maroon 5's 2024 shows are comparable to or cheaper than the costs of standard original tickets.

On StubHub, the least expensive tickets for Maroon 5 range from $28 for the group's Holmdel, New Jersey show on June 29 to $116 for their Springfield, Massachusetts concert on July 1. Vivid Seats offers a similar price range, with the band's cheapest ticket prices starting from $27 at their Holmdel show to $114 for Maroon 5's Springfield concert on the same dates.

These resale sites have comparable prices for Maroon 5's Las Vegas residency shows, as well. The starting prices for the band's Las Vegas concerts range between $42 on May 17 and $92 on June 1 on StubHub, or from $41 on October 4 to $85 on June 1 on Vivid Seats.

Maroon 5 is also offering VIP packages for their 2024 concert tour. Their Las Vegas residency dates offer a Premium VIP Banquet package beginning at $495, but these tickets must be sold in multiples of two. The band also offers three VIP packages for their tour dates elsewhere: Diamond Premium Seat (starting at $685), Gold Premium Seat (starting at $435), and Silver Hot Seat (starting at $410).

Who is opening for Maroon 5's tour?

Maroon 5 doesn't have any opening acts for their Las Vegas residency concert dates. But, the band will be joined by Maren Morris for their non-festival touring dates outside Las Vegas in 2024.

Maroon 5 hasn't announced an international leg for their 2024 tour. However, the band has two shows already confirmed for Canada in 2024: June 25 in Toronto, Ontario and July 7 in Ottawa, Ontario.
