Tom Jones has announced a new set of dates in December, under the banner of the Ages & Stages UK Arena Tour . The shows will, as ever, showcase the Welsh vocal giant’s vast and versatile catalog of much-loved hits and favorites across his extraordinary 60-year career.

The shows begin in Nottingham on December 14, with stops in Birmingham, London, Glasgow, and Manchester. Tickets go on general sale this Friday (September 8) at 10am via LiveNation.co.uk . The Ages & Stages tour launched with a North American leg in April and May, before European shows between June and August.

Jones’ total sales stand at more than 100 million records, with 36 UK Top 40 hits, and countless prestigious awards, all the way back to his Grammy Award as Best New Artist in 1966, when he had two other nominations. He won BRIT Awards in 2000 and 2003, was knighted by Her Majesty The Queen in 2006 for services to music, and was the recipient of the UK’s Music Industry Trust Award in 2010.

Tom Jones - I Won’t Crumble With You If You Fall (Live from Real World Studios)

The star’s most recent album Surrounded By Time , his latest collaboration with producer Ethan Johns, went straight to No.1 in the UK on its release in April 2021. Recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales and at Real World in Wiltshire, it was hugely acclaimed by reviewers, with the Daily Telegraph ’s Neil McCormick writing in a five-star notice: “Jones’s voice has weathered better than most, taking on an oaken quality, with rich low notes and just a patina of tiny cracks adding some antique class.”

The Independent ’s Helen Brown described Jones as “an ongoing triumph of hope and experience,” observing that his “barnacled baritone steers a steady course through Moog-soaked covers of favourite songs, with sombre lines about dark oceans, soulless days, and skirting a skeleton coast.”

Tom Jones has today announced a headline show at The O2, taking place this December on Sunday 17.

International icon and living legend Tom Jones has announced his Ages & Stages U.K. Arena Tour for December this year. Each show promises unforgettable performances and timeless hits from Tom’s huge career.

Tom Jones is undoubtedly one of Britain’s all-time greatest vocal talents. With a career spanning over 60 years, he has sold over a staggering 100 million records, has amassed 36 Top 40 hits, been honoured with the prestigious Music Industry Trust Award and been the recipient of multiple Grammy awards. Jones is widely considered to be one of the greatest singers and recording artists of all time.

From soul-stirring ballads to exhilarating anthems, the "Ages & Stages" tour promises to showcase the full spectrum of Tom Jones’ colossal career, brought to life by his distinctive voice and magnetic charisma.

ABOUT SIR TOM JONES

Sir Tom has indeed cemented his place in music history as one of the most successful artists of all time, traversing musical eras and genres, cutting across class divides, and appealing to all genders and ages, mainstream and cutting edge. Sir Tom has always been about the power of the song, and the power of the voice, qualities that have made him a true legend in the music zeitgeist. Despite the passage of time, Sir Tom

Jones continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the music world, and his legacy will undoubtedly live on for generations to come.

Born in the mining town of Pontypridd, South Wales, Jones quit school at an early age, working various odd jobs before getting his start as a member of a local band called The Senators, later forming his own group, Tom Jones and the Squires, gigging in clubs and pubs around the local area.

In the early 1960s, he signed with Decca Records in London, kickstarting a successful and diverse career and achieving international fame with his powerful voice and dynamic stage presence. He had a string of hit songs including "It's Not Unusual," "What's New Pussycat?" "Delilah," and "Green, Green Grass of Home" which sat alongside his hugely popular 1969-1971 cross-continental TV show, "This is Tom Jones".  Jones has always had a fundamental interest in a wide range of music, leading him to work with dozens of iconic collaborators over the years, ranging from Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin to Van Morrison, Dolly Parton and Ed Sheeran, just some amongst many.  Although he is well known for his hits, he is first and foremost a diverse artist with a true rhythm and blues soul.

Jones's career has been filled with numerous honors and accolades, including a deeply cherished knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2006, multiple BRIT Awards, a Silver Clef Award, the prestigious Music Industry Trusts Award, and a Hitmaker Award from the US Songwriters Hall of Fame. He has also acted in films such as Tim Burton's "Mars Attacks," and "Playhouse Presents: King of The Teds" for Sky Arts. Along with his yearly touring, Jones has continued to be active in the industry as a longstanding coach on The Voice UK and being a valued contributor at a variety of events and broadcasts such as the 25th Anniversary of MusiCares (honouring Bob Dylan) and the 57th Grammy Awards as well as many others for charitable causes. His 2015 autobiography "Over The Top And Back" was a rollicking best-seller, and his 2021 album release “Surrounded By Time” made him the oldest male to claim a

Number 1 spot on the UK Official Albums Chart with an album of new material, overtaking Bob Dylan.

In the 1970s, Jones’ music began to shift towards a more mainstream pop sound. He recorded several hits, including “She’s a Lady” and “I (Who Have Nothing),” which were more polished and produced than his earlier work. Jones also began to experiment with different genres, recording country and disco-influenced songs.

In the 1980s, Jones’ popularity began to wane, and he struggled to find success on the charts. However, he continued to tour and perform, and his live shows remained popular with audiences. In the 1990s, Jones experienced a resurgence in popularity, thanks in part to collaborations with younger artists like The Cardigans and The Stereophonics. He also recorded several successful albums, including “Reload,” which featured duets with artists like Van Morrison and Robbie Williams.

In recent years, Jones has continued to tour and record new music. He has released several albums, including “Praise & Blame” and “Long Lost Suitcase,” which showcase his versatility as a singer. Jones has also been recognized for his contributions to music, receiving a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2006.

So, is Tom Jones coming to Glasgow? While there are no confirmed tour dates at the moment, Jones has a busy schedule of performances and appearances planned for the coming months. Fans can keep an eye on his official website and social media channels for updates on future tour dates.

In conclusion, Tom Jones’ music career has spanned over six decades, and he has evolved as an artist to reflect changing tastes and trends. From his early rock and roll hits to his more polished pop songs, Jones has remained a beloved performer and entertainer. While there are no confirmed tour dates for Glasgow at the moment, fans can look forward to seeing Jones perform live in the near future.

Scottish singer who supported Adele and Sir Tom Jones 'so excited' for Glasgow show

A rising star with a passion for Scottish music has revealed she is excited to play to a Glasgow crowd again.

Tamzene first broke onto the music scene in 2020 with her debut Accidently Told You (Demo) and she has spent the last four years creating strikingly serene songs fuelled by the universal experiences of heartbreak, loss and love.

The soul blues artist resume includes opening up for the likes of Sir Tom Jones and Adele last summer and now, she is gearing up to bring her show The Green Lane Sessions to The Glad Café in the city’s Southside.

“I’m so excited for the show, I’m feeling really happy and grateful that I have this format to play my songs,” Tamzene said.

She added: “I’m excited to share my music with a Glasgow crowd too to be honest.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve played these types of shows, so I’m really excited, I think it is going to be really cosy.”

The last time Tamzene played in the city was back in 2022 when she kicked off her UK headline tour at the SWG3 Poetry Club.

Prior to that, the previous Scottish Music Awards Rising Star Winner played TRNSMT music festival in 2019 and 2021.

Speaking on the experiences, the 26-year-old said: “I started my 2022 headline tour off in Glasgow and that was such a special evening. I remember the feeling of having my own show and it being in Glasgow.

“I’ve also had the pleasure of playing TRNSMT over the years – I think I’ve played it about three times now.

“I’ve loved Glasgow for many years, and I’m just so excited to come back.”

Tamzene, who comes from Cromarty in the Scottish Highlands, explained how her upbringing served as inspiration for her music.

She said: “The music from Scotland always speaks to me – I think it just has this certain flavour, like a sensitivity that is shared between Scottish artists. I feel honoured to be part of that community.

“I feel so excited about the energy which is really being shared among Scottish artists right now.”

The upcoming Glasgow show will come ahead of Tamzene’s newest EP which will be released later this year.

Teasing fans, the singer said the new work is her “biggest to date.”

She added: “I feel like it is an evolution. I’m pushing my sound in ways I haven’t before.

“With this EP, I wanted to represent all aspects of life, the highs and joyful moments and then the really hard moments of heartbreak and loss and just those dark days.

“I think I’ve pushed myself creativity within this EP, all of me is in here and it has really captured the last chapter of my life so far.”

Tickets for the upcoming show are still available and start at £9.50.

Emerging Glasgow talents Matthew Hall and Terra Kin will provide support at the show which takes Monday, April 29.
