Commercial Grade H-Rated 16-Ply Cooper Tires

We placed our money where things mattered and where other manufacturers ran into problems so you wouldn’t have to. The heavy-duty H-Rated 16-ply Cooper tires are an upgrade second to none. You typically see this style of tires used for commercial applications and larger rigs, but they are standard on the Brinkley Model Z. Each tire is rated for up to 4,850 lbs. per tire and 19,400 lbs. in total.

Automotive-Style Riveted Wheel Skirts

We’ve upgraded to automotive-style rivets over the industry standard of using screws to mount the Model Z’s wheel skirts. Not only do they look better and over time they don’t loosen from vibrations, but they’re no longer a sharp hazard on the backside.

GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating) – is the maximum permissible weight, including cargo, fluids, optional equipment and accessories that can be safely supported by a combination of all axles.

UVW (Unloaded Vehicle Weight)* - is the typical weight of the unit as manufactured at the factory. It includes all weight at the unit’s axle(s) and tongue or pin and LP Gas. The UVW does not include cargo, fresh potable water, additional optional equipment or dealer installed accessories. *Estimated Average based on standard build optional equipment.

CCC (Cargo Carrying Capacity)** - is the amount of weight available for fresh potable water, cargo, additional optional equipment and accessories. CCC is equal to GVWR minus UVW. Available CCC should accommodate fresh potable water (8.3 lbs per gallon). Before filling the fresh water tank, empty the black and gray tanks to provide for more cargo capacity. **Estimated Average based on standard build optional equipment.

Each Forest River RV is weighed at the manufacturing facility prior to shipping. A label identifying the unloaded vehicle weight of the actual unit and the cargo carrying capacity is applied to every Forest River RV prior to leaving our facilities.

The load capacity of your unit is designated by weight, not by volume, so you cannot necessarily use all available space when loading your unit.

New York pediatrician's daughter says Airstream trailer had 'safety oversight' in fatal mishap: report

T he daughter of a Long Island pediatrician who was fatally flung from an Airstream over the weekend said a "significant oversight" in the trailer's design contributed to the tragic accident.

Horrified motorists saw Dr. Monika Woroniecka, 58, cling for dear life to the door handle of the family's trailer before she lost her grip and struck her head on the shoulder of State Route 12E in Watertown on Saturday, New York State Police said in a release. 

"They were going for an Airbnb in Cape Vincent to see the eclipse . They stopped at an ice cream place about 20 minutes before they were going to get [there], that's when they decided to have the mother, the daughter and the daughter's boyfriend get in the back of the camper," Trooper Jack Keller told Fox News Digital. 

"They were in the back in the camper, that's when the victim noticed the door ajar and tried to close it. She fell out and struck her head and ultimately succumbed to those injuries," Keller said.

Woroniecka's daughter Helena told the New York Post that her mother loved the Airstream, giving it a nickname and even sleeping inside while it was parked in the driveway.

But a fatal flaw in its design played a part in her mother's unthinkable death, she posited: 

"The doors on the Airstream open the opposite way that you would expect. It doesn’t take an engineering degree to know that on any moving vehicle, whether a bus or a car or a trailer, doors should open against the wind, not towards it," Helena told the Post. "That seems like a significant safety oversight to me and seems like the only reason they do open that way is to protect the awning of the trailer."

In an email to Fox News Digital, Airstream wrote that its trailers weren't built for passengers when they are in motion: 

"Airstream travel trailers are not designed to carry passengers while in motion," the company wrote. "The safety protocol detailed in Airstream’s operating manuals and shared on Airstream’s website advises owners that they cannot tow an Airstream with people inside. Many states prohibit carrying passengers in a travel trailer or fifth wheel."

The company also included a quote from Monika Geraci of the RV Industry Association, who added that towable recreational vehicles aren't equipped with seatbelts or safe seating positions because they are not designed to carry passengers while the vehicle is in motion and that all passengers should ride in the towing vehicle with seatbelts affixed. 

New York state law prohibits anyone from riding inside a trailer while it is being pulled by a separate vehicle.

Helena addressed the company's advisories in her interview with the Post:  

"Sure, maybe Airstream doesn’t advise traveling inside the trailer. But we thought maybe that the last 20 minutes of an eight-hour drive on very quiet and slow country roads would be fine," she told the outlet. "And it’s perfectly legal to do so in some states... It was just a crazy accident... There’s nobody to blame. This is nobody’s fault."

Woroniecka had nicknamed the 2024 Airstream "Nebula," her daughter said, because it "represented adventure and exploration," and had attached shells spelling out the name in a frame over its entrance.

"She did also love to travel and explore, which is why my parents bought the trailer – they were planning to take an early retirement and travel to national parks and spend time exploring together," Helena said of the trailer, which her parents purchased two months prior, according to the Post. "She loved that trailer so much and poured her soul into it."

The mother of three was so excited to see the eclipse with her family, Helena told the Post, that she "was learning about space and researching different eclipse glasses and buying everyone’s favorite groceries" for weeks beforehand.

"My mom loved her family above everything else, so the fact that my sister and I were coming home so everyone could go see the eclipse together – that’s what she was most excited for was spending time with everyone," the daughter told the outlet.

Helena told the Post that Samaritan Medical Center, where her Woroniecka was pronounced dead, was the hospital where she gave birth to her daughter when the family lived in Buffalo. 

"This trip was the first time they would be back in that town, and she was excited to see their old apartment and the old town, and it so happens that she died in the same hospital I happened to be born in," Helena said.

"She was the most loving, generous, and golden-hearted person I’ve ever known," Helena said of her mother, the Post reported. "She was always, always thinking about how to lend a helping hand to someone, whether her family or patients or friends that had medical questions or strangers on the street. She spent her whole life helping and taking care of people in one way or another, and I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to be like her."

The Long Island doctor who was fatally thrown out of her family’s Airstream should never have been in the RV while it was in motion, the manufacturer says.

Dr. Monika Woroniecka, 58, was not following Airstream’s guidance when she was hurled out of the door of the moving trailer and onto State Route 12E in upstate New York around 3 p.m. Saturday, the company said.

“Airstream travel trailers are not designed to carry passengers while in motion,” the company said in a statement.

“The safety protocol detailed in Airstream’s operating manuals and shared on Airstream’s website advises owners that they cannot tow an Airstream with people inside,” the statement continued.

“Many states prohibit carrying passengers in a travel trailer or fifth wheel, and we advise owners to consult their state’s Department of Motor Vehicles for up-to-date regulations.”

It also is illegal in New York to tow passengers in a “house coach trailer” while it is hitched to a vehicle and on the road.

The mother of three was traveling to Cape Vincent with her family to watch the eclipse when the freak accident occurred,  a neighbor told The Post on Monday.

Horrified witnesses later said they saw the side door of the RV open and Woroniecka’s arm hanging out as she tried to pull it closed.

“My husband saw them right before they left. He happened to talk to them, and [Woroniecka’s husband] Robert [said] they were going up with their daughter to see the total eclipse,” the neighbor, who identified herself only by her first name, Maria, explained through tears.

Just a few moments before the accident, Woroniecka and her daughter Helena were riding with Robert in the family’s 2019 Ford pickup truck, which Robert was driving with the Airstream attached in tow.

They had stopped for ice cream and were just about 20 minutes from their AirBnB when Woroniecka and Helena decided to ride the rest of the journey in the 2024 model RV.

“According to Helena’s accounts, she was lying on the bed located in the rear of the camper,” state police Sgt. Jack Keller said. “Helena recalls that her mother was trying to secure the passenger side door of the camper and subsequently gets thrown from the Airstream.”

Woroniecka struck her head on the road median, police explained.

Woroniecka was born in Poland, and worked as a pediatric allergist and immunologist at Stony Brook Medicine,  her online profile said .

“They moved here about four, five years ago,” neighbor Maria told The Post of the family. “They just brought the Airstream two months ago. [Woroniecka] was so sweet. Really nice person — really nice.”

Woroniecka and her husband have three adult daughters, Maria said.

One of them lives in Virginia, while another is studying to be a doctor in Arizona and was set to get married this summer.

The third daughter is enrolled at Juilliard, the neighbor told The Post.

The private airplane has been the poster child of elite travel ever since the original jet-setters started flying down to Acapulco, with Sinatra on the airwaves (or on board), in the 1950s. There's an eternal allure to taking off at a whim, unscheduled. Put simply: to freedom.

But recently, our idea of exclusive travel has broadened. There's an inclination to go further and deeper, to be more spontaneous and creative, with bucket lists overflowing. Since the era of social distancing, a desire to reconnect with friends and family has led to more ambitious group trips. The rise of hyper-personalization is trouncing the one-size-fits-all holiday thanks to canny travel fixers and tour operators that are threading the desire for off-menu, bespoke experiences into travel's ever-evolving DNA.

That could look like a marine safari around Lamu on a chartered private dhow with Journeys By Design or a buy-out of Venice's Palazzo Garzoni (take all four residences) or Thuwal Private Retreat in the Red Sea (take the whole island). Hotels are getting wise, adding private residences, like Rosewood London's Lincoln House and the aptly named Villa Inkognito at Oslo's Sommerro , while The Reserve at Savoy Palace in Madeira has just unveiled a hotel-within-a-hotel, complete with a personal assistant just a WhatsApp message away. And if what you crave is total solitude, save for perhaps the primates in the wilds of Gabon, experts like Pelorus can curate a bespoke expedition just for you without ever skimping on all the luxe comforts. It's no surprise that hotels are riding the private travel wave, granting guests exclusive access, bespoke experiences, and even greater privacy. Concierges are acting more like personal fixers: At J. K. Place Roma , in the 17th-century Palazzo Borghese , Giulia De Sanctis uses her connections to take visitors behind the curtain of the Italian fashion scene, from exclusive events for new collections to coveted invitations like Vogue 's Valentino shindig. Tours are getting more elaborate too. The Four Seasons Hotel Sydney can organize a private jet to the Lightning Ridge Opal Mines; the creative director of the jeweler Giulians, Gary Coffey, tags along and helps attendees craft their own one-of-a-kind piece. And beyond the presidential suite, some hotels offer secluded villas on their grounds—from the Pool Cottage House at Mallorca's Grand Hotel Son Net , complete with their own pool and garden, to the five-bedroom Villa de France with dedicated butler service at the Cheval Blanc St-Barth . And price upon request, darling.

Casino Doxi Stracca in Puglia is set on acres of vineyards and comes with multiple pools and a wine cellar.

La dolce villa

Of course, instead of a top hotel, you could just book your own estate, which offers the same level of service but allows you to go anywhere you like in your pajamas. And when it comes to these rentals, bigger is indeed better. “We've seen increased demand for our largest villas as more people bring the whole family or big groups of friends,” says Rossella Beaugié, cofounder of luxury-villa specialist The Thinking Traveller. Below, some options for a grand getaway—with or without your entourage.

Escape the island's crowds and abscond into one of two (or both) residences at sleek jungle-fringed hideaway, Casa Alma , Phuket, Thailand owned by Thai Belgian hotelier Jonathan Schmidt. Photographer and designer Zeina Aboukheir rents out her five-suite residence at Villa Zeina , Luxor, Egypt , which is overflowing with art from her travels. Don't forget the private butler and chef service. Drive through Casino Doxi Stracca 's five acres of vineyards in Puglia, Italy to this 18th-century marvel filled with amenities like multiple pools, a wine cellar, and—blessedly—air conditioning. Casa Manantial , Cartagena, Colombia is a 17th-century mansion, hidden behind an unmarked door off Plaza de Bolivar, makes for an artful city escape complete with a pool and room for up to 10.

Aman’s flagship yacht, Amandira is a custom-built sailing and diving vessel with five cabins and a crew of 14.

Ride the wave

Nothing evokes seafaring excitement quite like tall white sails, and private yachts offer that plus service and sustainability credentials. NaiSabah , a solar-powered, wind-driven traditional Omani liveaboard, traverses the mangrove and riparian forests of Kenya's Lamu Archipelago. Guest experiences include weaving with local artisans; profits help fund local conservation efforts. For a truly bespoke trip, tap a specialist to get off-book experiences, even in familiar cities. With London-based operators True Travel, who focus on behind-the-scenes twists on the capital, this might look like a private evensong at St. Paul's Cathedral or watching the changing of the guard from inside Buckingham Palace . Enlisting a private chef can help you curate a flawless evening beyond the dining room—abroad or at home. “I'm also a host,” says Michael Dane, a California-based chef who organizes events for A-list clients in Hollywood and Silicon Valley. “It's my job to make sure the lighting is set, the flowers are arranged, the scent is right.”In addition to cooking the meals, a chef might also source the best produce from area markets, translate local cuisine for clients' tastes, and meet memorably over-the-top requests. Dane says, “Once, a client rented the Houdini mansion for 500 people, and I created a living wall of cheese and charcuterie.” Elevated exclusive experiences don't have to mean stuffy formality; it's all about ease and intimacy. Having your own chef can help. As Dane puts it: “The idea is that the client doesn't have to worry about a thing.”

For so long, safaris were a communal affair, but in recent years, game-ready private houses have come into their own. Here are the movement's pioneers.
