First off, it shocked me. The house was lit up like 4th of July so their was no doubt we were at the right place. Another shocker, I seriously was expecting to walk into someone's living room when we unlocked the front door. I opened the door, and it was a hallway. The lights automatically came on. VERY WELL LIT! Thank you! There were 3 doors, one had office hours and the other 2 were also marked. The bed was so comfortable and the sheets! Temperature was also just right! The host responded within a few min of my questions. Loved the place! It is very easy to get to the KSC from here. And we also had a surprise when we played with the remotes on the wall. The bed moved to an up right position.

Beautiful property set back away from the road with a pond. Well maintained and manicured. Place to sit out back and relax. The home is so beautiful and clean with top notch decor, furnishings and built with elegant style.

The host is one of the kindest, gracious and caring people I have ever met. He went out of his way to make us feel like old friends. I cannot say enough about his character. And the rooms are very posh and very very CLEAN! I felt like royalty! They say if it sounds too good to be true, It probably is, but this is DEFINITELY an exception to the rule. I can't recommend it enough. If you pass on the opportunity to stay there, you have done yourself a disservice.

Highly recommend if you are looking for quiet, luxurious comfort, and a friendly host! This is my second stay, I love this place so much. The rooms are decked out with everything you can want for your comfort. Bed is soft and wonderful with a remote for lifting the mattress. Shower is strong and hot. Netflix, big screen, surround sound... You will not find any other rental like this!

I stayed for 1 night between cruises. I wanted somewhere fairly close to the port. The house is beautiful, the room and ensuite bathroom is lovely with a very comfortable bed and has a fridge with waters and a good coffee machine and some snacks. The host Ryan was really friendly and happy to talk but also was happy to give space. He recommended places to get food nearby. I felt very safe as a lone female. I would not hesitate to stay again.

Super service!!! Mr . Bryan made us feel as though we were family! Top of the line amenities, Excellent location! Bed was so comfortable,had a great stay,we will be back for sure! The extra waters,coffee,tea and snacks,so appreciated!

This place is unusually wonderful. To start, the host is incredible! He's helpful, generous, and has created a luxurious, comfortable and peaceful space. The rooms are impeccably clean. The beds, linen, towels are high quality and extremely comfortable. Its obvious that your comfort has been planned and very carefully attended to in all the details - like super high speed internet, remote controlled shades, excellent showers, full coffee and snack station, mini fridge stocked with water... The grounds are serene with wildlife and beautiful trees. This is a GEM of a stay. I travel often and don't usually encounter authentic hospitality with so much care invested. I am so grateful I found this place! Highly highly highly recommend. To add to this, the host is vegan and the grounds are eco-friendly. If you appreciate the details of well thought out hospitality, this is the place for you.

very clean and nicely decorated. Very quiet and far from any road noise. Felt like a bed and breakfast without the breakfast.

This property was brand new and pristine! It was very well done, with microwave, Keurig coffee maker, locks, and we felt very safe and comfortable. Ryan, our host was very friendly!

If I ever go back to this area I will seek this place as a first choice in places to stay 😁

Built in 1960, the Voyageur Motel was originally home to Pierre, the 20 ft tall North Shore icon with his glowing eyes, red paddle, and birch bark canoe. A roadside attraction meant to bring in visitors to a basic motel and its museum and gift shop, the "pants-less" voyageur was supposedly inspired by giant French explorers, wearing a long-sleeved woolen skirt with deerskin leggings. 

Pierre now stands in front of a motel outside of Two Harbors and an O'reilly Auto Parts store is next to Voyageur Motel where the Voyageur Museum & Gift Shop was located 60 years ago. Under new ownership after 26 years, the Voyageur Motel is still a locally owned and family operated small business and a convenient and comfortable choice for all travelers who make Two Harbors a destination on their North Shore adventure.

We finally know why NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft stopped communicating — scientists are working on a fix

The first spacecraft to explore beyond the solar system started spouting gibberish late last year. Now, NASA knows why.

NASA engineers have discovered the cause of a communications breakdown between Earth and the interstellar explorer Voyager 1. It would appear that a small portion of corrupted memory exists in one of the spacecraft's computers. 

The glitch caused Voyager 1 to send unreadable data back to Earth, and is found in the NASA spacecraft's flight data subsystem (FDS). That's the system responsible for packaging the probe's science and engineering data before the telemetry modulation unit (TMU) and radio transmitter send it back to mission control. 

The source of the issue began to reveal itself when Voyager 1 operators sent the spacecraft a "poke" on March 3, 2024. This was intended to prompt FDS to send a full memory readout back to Earth.

The readout confirmed to the NASA team that about 3% of the FDS memory had been corrupted, and that this was preventing the computer from carrying out its normal operations.

Launched in 1977, Voyager 1 became the first human-made object to leave the solar system and enter interstellar space in 2012. Voyager 2 followed its spacecraft sibling out of the solar system in 2018, and is still operational and communicating well with  Earth.

After 11 years of interstellar exploration, in Nov. 2023, Voyager 1's binary code — the computer language it uses to communicate with Earth — stopped making sense. Its 0's and 1's didn't mean anything anymore.

"Effectively, the call between the spacecraft and the Earth was still connected, but Voyager's 'voice' was replaced with a monotonous dial tone," Voyager 1's engineering team previously  told Space.com .

The team strongly suspects this glitch is the result of a single chip that's responsible for storing part of the affected portion of the FDS memory ceasing to work.

Currently, however, NASA can’t say for sure what exactly caused that particular issue. The chip could have been struck by a high-speed energetic particle from space or, after 46 years serving Voyager 1, it may simply have worn out.

Voyager 1 currently sits around 15 billion miles (24 billion kilometers) from Earth, which means it takes 22.5 hours to receive a radio signal from it — and another 22.5 hours for the spacecraft to receive a response via the Deep Space Network's antennas. Solving this communication issue is thus no mean feat.

Yet, NASA scientists and engineers are optimistic they can find a way to help FDS operate normally, even without the unusable memory hardware.

Solving this issue could take weeks or even months, according to NASA — but if it is resolved, Voyager 1 should be able to resume returning science data about what lies outside the solar system.
