ABOUT JOURNEY

Since the group's formation in 1973, JOURNEY has earned 19 top 40 singles, 25 gold and platinum albums, and has sold over 100 million albums globally. Their "Greatest Hits" album is certified 15 times-platinum, making JOURNEY one of the few bands to ever have been diamond-certified, and their song "Don't Stop Believin'" has been streamed over one billion times alone.

JOURNEY was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017, and 2018's co-headlining tour with DEF LEPPARD was the band's most successful tour to date, landing them in the Top 10 year-end touring chart with more than 1 million tickets sold, and earning them the prestigious Billboard "Legends Of Live" touring award. March 2019 saw the release of "Escape & Frontiers Live In Japan", a live DVD/CD set from their concert at the Budokan in Tokyo featuring the band's first-ever performances of the albums "Escape" and "Frontiers" in their entirety. JOURNEY has also received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and were inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall Of Fame. Additionally, the band is the subject of the award-winning documentary "Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey" about the band's resurgence upon adding Arnel Pineda as lead singer after JOURNEY Founder, Neal Schon discovered the Philippines native on YouTube.

The members of TOTO are celebrating an accomplishment few bands have achieved in the modern era. Cumulative streams of the ensemble’s repertoire

now exceed 3 billion plays. Amongst the most listened to recordings, “Africa” accounts for over one billion streams at Spotify alone. This year the song was recertified by the RIAA 8X Platinum.

Over the past decade, the band has had a major renaissance in popularity like few bands at this point in their career. The audience is truly multi-generational, becoming younger with each passing year. Joining Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams are band members bassist John Pierce (Huey Lewis and The News), drummer Robert “Sput” Searight (Ghost-Note, Founding member Snarky Puppy, Snoop Dogg), keyboardist Dominique “Xavier” Taplin (Prince, Ghost-Note), multi-instrumentalist / vocalist Warren Ham (Ringo Starr) and keyboardist / background vocalist Steve Maggiora,. This line-up marks the fifteenth incarnation of Toto in consideration of band members or sidemen who joined or exited. Individually and collectively, few have had a larger imprint on pop culture than the members of TOTO. The family tree can be heard on an astonishing 5000 albums that together amass a sales history of a half a billion albums. Amongst these recordings, NARAS applauded the performances with hundreds of Grammy nominations.

With now 45+ years together and literally thousands of credits, including the biggest selling album of all time: Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and accolades to their names, TOTO remains one of the top selling touring and recording acts in the world. They are the benchmark by which many artists base their sound and production, and they continue to transcend the standards set by the entire music community, being simply synonymous with musical credibility. They are pop culture and are one of the few 70’s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles continuing to remain relevant.

'The Journey: A Music Special from Andrea Bocelli' Doc Official Trailer

by Alex Billington November 29, 2023 Source: YouTube

The Journey: A Music Special from Andrea Bocelli Trailer

"A musical and spiritual journey to rediscover what matters most in life." Goldwyn Films has revealed an official US trailer for a Italian adventure musical called The Journey: A Music Special from Andrea Bocelli . Arriving on VOD this December after first premiering earlier this year. The doc follows the blind, religious Italian singer named Andrea Bocelli as he embarks on a journey following the Via Francigena, an ancient road traveled for centuries by pilgrims - they ride 200 miles on horseback throughout Italy. Merging world-class music with intimate conversations in the awe-inspiring Italian countryside, it is an exploration of the moments that define us, the songs that inspire us, and relationships that connect us to what matters most in life. Featuring Andrea Bocelli, Tori Kelly, Michael W. Smith, Katherine Jenkins, Tauren Wells, and Clara Barbier Serrano. "You'll be swept away by The Journey of beautiful music, creation, faith, and love." This looks like an emotional and passionate performance piece. It very obviously has a strong religious edge to it, not simply another musical. This trailer comes in gorgeous 4K quality as well - as least Italy looks nice.

H.E.R. to Release New Song ‘The Journey’ This Week

It was written by diane warren..

Grammy and Oscar-winning singer, songwriter, and producer H.E.R. has announced her new song “The Journey” releases Thursday, May 18, via RCA Records.

In an Instagram post, H.E.R. previews the motivating anthem in a 30-second clip. “All the times they thought they could hold you back / But you’ve always known there was no chance of that / You’re made, too strong,” she triumphantly sings.

“The Journey” was written by Diane Warren. It has been prominently featured in various ESPN in-game production elements since last month.

Tim Corrigan, ESPN’s vice president of production, said, “The NBA regular season is one long journey, and then you get to the NBA Playoffs, which is a journey of its own. All 16 teams have their own paths to accomplishing their goal of an NBA Championship. And, as the song says, ‘it’s a hell of a ride.’ We are honored that H.E.R chose to team up with ESPN to help introduce this song to the world. It’s another great example of what we can do at the intersection of sports and music.”

H.E.R. added, “As an NBA fan, I’m so grateful to be part of this year’s ‘Journey’ to the NBA Finals.”

“The Journey” will mark H.E.R.’s first song release of the year. The song is her first non-soundtrack release since “ Dance To The Music ” from the Minions: The Rise of Gru and her non-featured contribution since NxWorries’ “ Where I Go .” Both songs were issued in 2022.

H.E.R.’s last proper single was 2021’s “ Come Through ” featuring Chris Brown.

Co-produced by Cardiak, Mike WiLL Made-It and Wu10, the collaboration went to No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It gave H.E.R. the first chart-topper of 2022 on this chart and her seventh overall.

H.E.R. Back Of My Mind

“Come Through” was certified gold by the RIAA in September 2021. Before that, its parent album, Back of My Mind , advanced to gold for exceeding sales of more than 500,000 equivalent units.

In June 2021, around the time of H.E.R.’s debut album drop, she scored a No. 1 hit with “ Damage ” on the R&B charts. It had previously topped urban radio that March.

“Damage” went on to sell more than two million equivalent single sales in the U.S.

The accomplishments for H.E.R.’s Back of My Mind and its issued singles were not limited to the RIAA and the charts; they also earned acclaim from Rated R&B and the Recording Academy .

H.E.R would repeat nomination success from the Recording Academy at the 65th Grammy Awards this year when she would be up for three awards — including two in the general field — for her co-songwriting/co-production work on Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe) .

H.E.R. co-penned and co-produced Blige’s self-loving title track, an out-of-the-box hit across the R&B charts. She also appeared on the official remix .

Elsewhere, H.E.R. appeared on the small screen in the photorealistic Beauty and the Beast adaptation. She starred as the first Black Filipina Belle in the production that coincided with the 30th anniversary of the animated film that debuted in 1991.

H.E.R. will resume her acting career as Squeak in The Color Purple musical film. The film, which premieres on Christmas Day, features a star-studded cast, including Fantasia (Celie), Ciara (adult Nettie), Halle Bailey (young Nettie), Danielle Brooks (Sofia), Corey Hawkins (Harpo), Taraji P. Henson (Shug Avery) and many more.

On June 15, H.E.R. is set to perform a headlining set at The Chicago Theatre . The show, presented by Sapphire, is exclusive to Chase cardholders only. Get more ticket information at ticketmaster.com .

H.E.R. also has more concerts happening later this year. Visit her official website for more information.

Preview H.E.R.’s new song “The Journey” below.

‘I Was Afraid of This Song’: H.E.R. on Her Big New Ballad

By Brian Hiatt

Brian Hiatt

To mix sports metaphors, H.E.R. ’s new song “The Journey,” which will soundtrack ESPN’s broadcasts of the NBA Finals, is a big swing — an old-school, hyper-melodic, live-instrument-driven ballad. And for H.E.R., who sees a gap between the energy of her live shows and her recorded output to date, it’s the kind of song she’s had in her all along. She tells Rolling Stone about recording “The Journey,” explains how it reflects a rough year for her (which includes an ongoing legal battle with the record label she signed to at age 14), and offers a preview of what’s next — from her next album to her role in the upcoming film of The Color Purple musical (in which she will use her real name, Gabriella Wilson.)

And the world’s never heard that song you made with her back then? Yeah, no, the world’s never heard it. It was a song we did a long time ago. I need to hear it again! I don’t think I’ve heard it since then. It’s so funny how it’s a full circle moment for me working with her.

Editor’s picks

The 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term.

So I texted her at that time, and she was like, “That’s crazy that you texted me, because I just put the pen down. I’ve been working on this song that I think would be amazing for you.” I went to her studio in January, and she played me the song. I was almost in tears, because the lyrics are so on-point with everything that I’ve been through lately. It felt like a meant-to-be moment. It was very much like God, very much divine timing. We both felt it in the room. Right then and there, I was playing the chords and doing my own things to it. I changed some of the things and made it a “me” song. I got very emotional when I was recording it, very much in tears.

It’s really a showcase for your voice. There was a big note at the end of the song. It was one take, which is pretty crazy. This is a song where people really get to hear my vocals. They’ve never heard me sing like this on a record. So I’m really, really excited for people to hear it and to experience what they would hear live from me, on record.

Here's How to Watch Sports on ESPN, Even If You Don't Have Cable

Here's where to get new york knicks tickets online, warriors vs. bucks livestream: where to watch tonight's nba game online.

When you talk about what you’ve been through in the past year, what did that mean emotionally? I had a coming-of-age moment. There’s a time in the music industry before anybody cares or knows who you are, you’re just doing it because you love it. Then it turns into more. There’s so much you don’t know, so much you’re learning about yourself. I was focused on the gratitude, being happy to be here, being on autopilot.

Now I’ve learned how to be intentional about what I want out of my career, what it means to be a leader and director of my own destiny.  Everyone around you is not always pure in their intent, not always on the same page as you. It’s important to look out for yourself, believe in yourself, balance that with what’s the right thing versus what you feel. Opinions come in, success comes, everybody has their thoughts on what it should be.

I asked myself: What are you doing this for? My ‘whys’ are changing. I’m not the same person I was at 18. I had to make a lot of tough, tough, tough, tough decisions. I had to believe in myself. I had never felt so lost. I had never felt so uncertain. And that was a really hard thing for me.  Now I’m happier, lighter, more proud of the person I’m becoming. I’m in a good place, and on top of that, I’m taking my own advice, being comfortable with vulnerability. I’m living by “What’s bad for the heart is good for the art.” I’ve been trying to live by that, go with how I feel, let the music speak, and bring people into my world.

You’ve had a reggae album in your back pocket for a while. What’s the status on that one? I don’t really know when I want to release it. It’s one of those things. I have this great body of music, and as a creative, there are so many projects I want to do. It’s just a matter of when. Those songs are definitely in the chamber. We’ll see when it feels right. I’ve been super-organic about it, but the music exists.

And are you still shooting the film musical of The Color Purple ? It’s done! It’s out in December, and I’m so excited for people to see it. I got to see a little bit of it, and I’m so excited. Like, it’s so beautiful. The experience I had was amazing. The cast is insane. And Blitz [Bazawule] is an amazing director. Everything about it is really exciting to me. And yeah, it’s my acting debut, so I can’t wait for people to see me on a big screen.

Michael W. Smith Saddles Up for Andrea Bocelli’s ‘The Journey’ Theatrical Music Event

LOGO

GRAMMY Award-winning Christian singer-songwriter Michael W. Smith joins the world-renowned operatic tenor for a big screen musical experience called “The Journey: A Music Special from Andrea Bocelli,” releasing to theaters in early April. The special also includes singers Tauren Wells, Tori Kelly and Taya as well as Bocelli’s wife and children and Katherine Jenkins, Clara Barbier Serrano, 2Cellos, and 40 Fingers.

the journey song 2023

Smith, who previously met Bocelli through the Celebrity Fight Night Foundation, was called upon to join the pilgrimage with one caveat.

“I think the only catch was that they said, ‘We want you to ride a horse for 20 miles’,” he said. “It was so fun, but I have to admit I was pretty sore from horseback riding across the Italian countryside. But it was stunning.”

Having previously owned many horses, Smith had not saddled up for more than a decade, so he turned to a training to help “get my bearings again.” At the same time, Bocelli, who has been blind since age 12 and ridden horses for 50 years, is “really good at it,” Smith said.

“It was pretty awesome to ride with somebody who really can’t see and he’s one-on-one with his horse. What a great experience.”

Smith wrote two songs for the project, including the instrumental title song, and a song he wrote with two of his daughters, his ” post-pandemic song,” which he performed in a 3,000-year-old coliseum lit by 2,000 torches.

“It was just such a moment,” he said.

Following the release of the special, Smith is writing a musical with his daughter Anna and others while continuing a world tour headed to Poland, Romania, Budapest, the Netherlands, Italy and South Africa. He will also be featured on an Easter special with Franklin Graham with the popular evangelist preaching in front of the Coliseum in Rome.

“I recorded four songs at the Fisher Center at Belmont with a full symphony orchestra and 15 amazing singers,” he said. “Visually, it’s just incredible.”

“The Journey: A Music Special from Andrea Bocelli” will release through Fathom Events on Palm Sunday and continue through Holy Week April 2, 3, 4 & 6. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here .

Journey’s Jonathan Cain shares the real-life story behind ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ ‘ as band prepares for Spokane show

Journey lead singer Arnel Pineda, right, sings alongside keyboardist Jonathan Cain, who steps out to play guitar on a song in 2017 at the Spokane Arena. The band will bring its 50th anniversary tour to the Arena on Friday. (JESSE TINSLEY)

One of the architects of the massive hit “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” almost stopped believing in Journey when vocalist Steve Perry quit the band in 1998. Keyboardist Jonathan Cain was uncertain that the band could continue after Perry left the group. It was understandable, since Journey said goodbye to a singer with such a big set of identifiable pipes that his nickname is “The Voice.”

“Steve was the best bandleader you can have,” Cain said. “He was magical.”

If Journey failed to replace Perry, the group would have called it a day during its 25th anniversary. However, guitarist Neal Schon refused to give up, and Steve Augeri filled Perry’s role. Jeff Scott Soto followed Augeri. Neither replacement singer approximated the impact of the iconic Perry. And the band was searching for yet another vocalist in 2007. Cain once again wondered if Journey could continue.

Then Schon witnessed Journey cover band singer Arnel Pineda in 2007 belting out “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” in his native Manila via YouTube. An invitation to audition was offered.

“I was skeptical,” Cain said. “I’m a realist. I thought, this kid has never been to America. There will be blowback because of his skin color and his race. I worried about how much of this country would accept him.”

But Pineda was embraced with open arms by Journey fans. A quarter century after Perry bid farewell to Journey, the band is nearly as popular as it was during its heyday.

“We could have never have guessed this would happen,” Cain, 73, said while calling from Los Angeles. “There is life for us at this point. When I look back at all that we accomplished, it’s just amazing to take it all in.”

So Cain and the rest of Journey, which includes drummer Deen Castronovo and bassist Todd Jensen, believe. “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” isn’t just the name of Journey’s biggest hit. It’s also the advice Cain received from his father when he struggled as a musician during the ‘70s.

“ ‘Don’t stop believin’ Jon,’ is what my dad told me,” Cain said. “I wrote it down in one of my notebooks.” “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” is also the name of Cain’s memoir, which was published in 2018.

Journey, which will perform Friday at the Spokane Arena, was massive during its early ‘80s peak with Perry, who is an underappreciated arranger of the band’s many hits. When Journey was putting together songs for its breakthrough album, “Escape,” in 1981, Perry asked Cain for ideas.

“The clock was ticking on us and Steve wanted to know if there was anything in my magic notebook,” Cain recalled. “I shared with him the phrase, ‘Don’t stop believin’.”

Cain proceeds to sing the couplet, Don’t stop believin’/hold on to that feeling. It’s an enduring anthem. The chorus doesn’t arrive until the conclusion of the tune, which is rare.

“Steve came up with that idea,” Cain said. “He said, ‘Make them wait to hear it. That way they’ll always want to hear it.’ I can still hear Steve yodeling the words to ‘Don’t Stop Believin’. ”

Journey has sold 48 million albums and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. “I don’t know how to top that,” Cain said.

There’s often drama and unpredictability over the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Mark Knopfler blew off Dire Straits’ induction in 2018. After years of complaining that they were dismissed by the hallowed Rock Hall, Kiss accepted the hardware but surprisingly refused to perform at their ceremony in 2014. According to Cain, nobody knew what Perry would do during the night of Journey’s induction.

“I was hoping he would perform,” Cain said. “I was waiting for him to do so. He didn’t perform, but I was ready if he was up to it. On the plus side, Perry was full of grace and humility. He had a one-on-one for 15 minutes with Arnel, who came out and said, ‘My God, I met him!’ It was an amazing experience.”

Journey played “Lights,” “Separate Ways” and “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Speaking once more of the latter, Journey was ecstatic that Sopranos visionary David Chase selected the hit to cap his iconic show.

“That blew us away,” Cain said. “David Chase notified us a year before it aired. ‘I’ve chosen your song’ is what he told us.”

The members of Journey were sworn to secrecy. “We didn’t say a thing,” Cain said. “It was a feel-good song for Tony Soprano’s character. I loved the show and James Gandolfini (who played Tony Soprano).”

While on vacation in Italy in 2013, Cain was checking out of a hotel in Rome shortly before Gandolfini checked in. Just a few hours later, Gandolfini passed away in his room. “I was freaking out when I heard about it,” Cain said. “That was just too weird.”

But fans might also file Journey adding a cover band singer from halfway around the world as weird. “Who would ever guess that would work,” Cain said, “But it has worked out well.”

Pineda’s tenure with the band has almost matched Perry’s period with Journey, which was 21 years.

“We’re still going strong,” Cain said. “We have more years ahead of us.”

Don’t stop believin’, indeed.

All those EVs are great, but where will the electricity come from?

As part of my career of over 30 years in the energy industry, I led the effort to complete Oregon’s portion of the West Coast’s “Electric Highway.”

the journey song 2023

This Journey classic was just named 'the biggest song of all time'

Journey ’s massive anthem "Don’t Stop Believin'” has officially gone 18x times platinum, and was named the top biggest song of all time.

Listen to Journey Radio and more on the free Audacy app

As of January 2024, the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) quietly certified Journey ’s 1981 single “Don’t Stop Believin’” as 18 times platinum . This means the song has sold a certified equivalent of 18 million units, via both physical copies and digital streaming, across its 42 year history. And, mind you, this is a United States ranking - meaning that the worldwide sales are even greater. Thus, Forbes Magazine has officially given "Don’t Stop Believin’” the title of the Biggest Song Of All Time.

This 18x platinum certification, which is now tied with Post Malone ’s “Sunflower,” was the first time the RIAA had promoted “Don’t Stop Believin’” since 2013. And the single wasn’t even Journey’s most popular song at the time of its release. Other hits like “Open Arms” and “Who’s Crying Now” outranked the song on Billboard charts . Regardless, “Don’t Stop Believin’” has become an anthem for both Journey and the entire world.

“We didn’t know it yet, but we had just written an anthem that would stand the test of time,” Journey's Jonathan Cain recalled in his autobiography , aptly named after the single. As a keyboard player and songwriter, Cain joined Journey in 1980 after his original group, The Babys , disbanded. He and singer Steve Perry were looking for inspiration, and turned to his old notebook. “On the last page of my notebook, I found three words scribbled: 'Don’t stop believin'" Cain wrote. “I knew Steve would like the title – the words my father had given me on a long-distance phone call one night.” Soon, the bandmates went from writing about two characters running away from home to writing about themselves, and how they were, “sacrificing it all to gamble on a dream.”

Lead singer and co-writer Perry recalls that songwriting session as a “rabid” attempt to give fans the rock-and-roll music they loved. But at the song’s National Recording Registry induction , even he couldn’t deny the anthem’s unrelenting power. “Every one of the songs that we ever recorded were treated like they were special,” he said in the interview. “But that song, over the years, has become something that has a life of its own. It’s about the people who’ve embraced it and found the lyrics to be something they can relate to and hold on to and sing.”

Congratulations to Journey! May your song play on, and on, and on, and on ….

Taylor Swift's Eras: How the most successful concert tour ever got started in Arizona

the journey song 2023

Taylor Swift launched The Eras Tour era with a sold-out two-night stand at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Friday and Saturday, March 17-18, 2023, the opening salvo of a record-breaking tour that has dominated headlines and, in many ways, the conversation ever since.

The Eras Tour is a phenomenon as big as Swift herself, if such a thing is possible — the highest-grossing tour of all time and the first tour in history to generate more than $1 billion in revenue.

The concert film — "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" — released in theaters worldwide on Oct. 13, 2023, quickly became the highest-grossing concert film in history , a record previously held by Justin Bieber.

Following The Eras Tour launch, Swift immediately shot to No. 1 on Pollstar's Artist Power Index chart , ending 2023 as Time magazine’s perfectly obvious choice for Person of the Year .

"Swift’s accomplishments as an artist — culturally, critically and commercially — are so legion that to recount them seems almost beside the point," Time wrote.

Then, after running down a laundry list of those accomplishments while placing her alongside Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Madonna as a pop star, Time explained why this year more than any other year.

"As a celebrity — who by dint of being a woman is scrutinized for everything from whom she dates to what she wears — she has long commanded constant attention and knows how to use it," Time wrote.

"But this year, something shifted. To discuss her movements felt like discussing politics or the weather — a language spoken so widely it needed no context. She became the main character of the world."

By that point, USA TODAY had hired its own Taylor Swift reporter and Swift had grabbed another first — first billionaire in history with music as the main source of income .

How the Year of Taylor Swift began in Glendale, Arizona

And to think: The Year of Taylor all began in Glendale, which renamed itself Swift City for the weekend in her honor.

A symbolic rebrand, the Swift City storyline played out on digital billboards along freeways and in Glendale's Westgate Entertainment District, where State Farm Stadium is located, welcoming fans to Swift City.

For what it's worth, we would've gone with Glendale (Taylor's Version) .

Swift had launched the Reputation Tour in that same stadium five years earlier.

She really likes us!

The Eras Tour is 'a journey through all of my musical eras'

In announcing the tour, Swift had promised “a journey through all of my musical eras,” which by any reasonable metric, is a lot of ground to cover — 10 hit albums, four of which have been released since the conclusion of the Reputation Tour in late 2018.

And she made it look easy, enjoying the journey as much as the Swifties who flocked to the show did while revisiting her catalog one era at a time in a marathon set that ran more than three hours, squeezing in 44 songs before the night was through.

Her earliest eras weren’t as prominently featured in the journey as her recent albums. There was only one song, “Tim McGraw,” from her first album, “Taylor Swift,” and one, “Enchanted,” from her third release, “Speak Now.”

The early albums she’d already rerecorded in “Taylor’s Version” editions by the time the tour launched were given more time in the spotlight. There were three songs from her second album “Fearless” and four from her fourth album, “Red.”

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour: 5 magic moments at State Farm Stadium that Arizonans saw first

The Eras Tour favored the eras since the Reputation Tour

It made sense that Swift would give more stage time to the albums she hadn’t had a chance to tour since being forced to pull the plug on Lover Fest, the tour she had planned in support of 2019’s “Lover,” in response to the pandemic that took everybody off the road in 2020.

Not quite an hour into her performance on Night 1 in Glendale, Swift asked fans, “Is it just me or do we have a lot of things to catch up on?”

Noting that “it’s been a really long time since I’ve been on tour,” she said they’d “added four new members to the family” since that last tour, introducing them by name as “Lover,” “Folklore,” Evermore” and “Midnights,” her latest release, which brought the concert to an end with a seven-song sampler.

It was a breathtaking journey through 17 years’ worth of musical eras with the artist connecting with at every step along the way.

When Taylor dove into a stream and sang 'All Too Well'

The stage show was designed to reach the back rows of the stadium with a breathtaking blend of artful set design — that “Folklore” cabin was cottagecore gold — and film projected on the massive screen behind the stage.

It was a concert packed with highlights, the most theatrical of which came at the end of an understated “Tim McGraw,” which Swift performed alone on a satellite stage, accompanying herself on an upright piano. At the song’s conclusion, she stood up and appeared to dive into a stream to swim beneath the runaway to the main stage.

As entertaining as that was, the full 10-minute version of “All Too Well” from “Red (Taylor’s Version),” the longest song to top the Billboard Hot 100, emerged as the concert’s emotional centerpiece, a heartbreaking triumph that ended in a haunting shower of paper snowflakes.

That opening-night performance also introduced the concept of “ surprise songs ,” two unannounced acoustic songs she planned to slip into the set each night just to keep fans guessing in the Era of the Online Setlist, where a quick Google search can reveal all.

The Era Tour is scheduled to conclude on Dec. 8, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada.
