Holidays Made Here, a special feature included as part of all Studio Tours returns for a limited time from December 22, 2022, through January 1, 2023 (closed December 25). The special feature will be centered around our Midwest Street Backlot, known by Gilmore Girls fans as the set location for Stars Hollow from Warner Bros. Television’s beloved series. Guests will also enjoy holiday-themed trivia, guided tours of Stars Hollow, and behind-the-scenes stories from Gremlins, Elf, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and many other holiday fan favorites.

Starting December 22, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood invites fans back to the beloved town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, festively decorated for the holidays. Guests can sip on hot coffee while enjoying Pop-Tarts® and other delectable treats for purchase throughout Stars Hollow, all while walking in the familiar footsteps of Lorelai, Rory, Luke, and Sookie. Visitors are also invited to explore the original Gilmore Girls sets and get up close to authentic props and costumes. Many photo opportunities will be available, including in front of the iconic gazebo, the official Stars Hollow town sign, Luke’s Diner, Lorelai’s house, Mrs. Kim’s Antiques, the Bjork Snowman, and Doose’s Market.

Holidays Made Here will be available as part of all Studio Tour offerings and will run from December 22, 2022, to January 1, 2023, with tours departing from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM each day; we will be closed on December 25. ‘Gilmore Girls’ at Christmas — Warner Bros. Studio Tour to feature Stars Hollow set

Where warner bros. leads, fans will follow. ‘gilmore girls’ fans will be able to explore the fictional town of the show this december for the ‘holidays made here’ event.

Warner Bros.’ “Holidays Made Here” returns for the 2022 holiday season, bringing the world of “Gilmore Girls” to life in Burbank, California. After the event was canceled for two years for COVID-19 safety, fans of the show will be able to participate in the guided tour around Warner Bros. studio from Dec. 22 to Jan. 1.

According to an official release from Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, the Christmastime tour will whisk guests to the Midwest Street Backlot, where “Gilmore Girls” was filmed for seven seasons. Featuring a fully-decorated set, costumes and props, guests can ring in the holidays while exploring Stars Hollow, the fictional town where “Gilmore Girls” takes place.

Visitors will be able to visit major locations from the show, including Luke’s Diner, Lorelai’s house, the Stars Hollow town sign and much more. Guests may also find pop-up shops in the town, with festive “Gilmore Girls” merchandise exclusive to the “Holidays Made Here” event. Hot coffee and Poptarts will be available for Stars Hollow visitors, as well as photo opportunities around the town.

Stars Hollow, Connecticut, isn’t the only place guests will visit, Warner Bros. wrote. Fans of the hit TV sitcom “Friends” can travel to Stage 48, where the Friends Boutique and Central Perk Café will be decked out for the holiday season. The Holiday Armadillo costume — a gag from the show — will be on display for Central Perk patrons, the area features authentic costumes and props from the series.

“Holidays Made Here” will guide guests through the sets of other favorite Christmas films, such as “Elf” and “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” KTLA reported that the Warner Bros. crew is excited to have guests back at the studio this holiday season.

“After two years of missing out on celebrating the holidays with our Warner Bros. fans, we are thrilled to have guests back on the lot for “Holidays Made Here,” said Danny Kahn, vice president and general manager of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood. “This event will be a must-see for fans, and we can’t wait to share the magic of exploring Stars Hollow with everyone during the holiday season.”

Tours will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 22 to Jan. 1., with the exception of Christmas Day. Tickets are available on the Warner Bros. website , with access to the “Holidays Made Here” event included in every ticket package.

It's always Christmas on the silver screen, or at least within those cinematic stories that are synonymous with Santa Claus, snowfall, and silent nights.

We can return to our favorite wintry television shows and movies, again and again, even as we make the quirky connection that we're looking at a Burbank backlot filled with snow, er, "snow," and not some icicle-strewn New England township.

Warner Bros. Studio is home to the brrr -filled backlot we're winking at, of course, and of course cinephiles know that the oft-balmy Burbank has stood in for plenty of parka-packed places.

To honor that legacy, and to give film fans a chance to connect with some seasonal cinema and small-screen fun, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood will whisk winter-seeking guests off to an adventure inspired by the holidays, starting on Dec. 22 and wrapping on Jan. 1.

It's a limited-time happening, so reserve your tour ticket soon if you'd like to join the holly-jolly Hollywood-themed jaunt.

Stops include Stars Hollow from "The Gilmore Girls," where a wholesome snowmen contest will be on never-melting view, and Stage 48, the tour-concluding spot that features famous costumes, including Papa Elf from "Elf" and the Jack Frost snowman from the film of the same name.

(Burbank, CA) – Today, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood (WBSTH) announced that this holiday season, Studio Tour guests will be transported back to the whimsical town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, with the return of the “Gilmore Girls” Holiday. From December 21, 2019 through January 5, 2020, fans of the beloved series can walk in the footsteps of Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), Luke Danes (Scott Paterson), Sookie St. James (Melissa McCarthy) and the whole gang as the Warner Bros. backlot will be transformed into Stars Hollow. The enchanting version of the fictional town will feature original sets and authentic props with photo opportunities available in front of the iconic Gazebo and official Stars Hollow town sign, Luke’s Diner, Lorelai’s house, Stars Hollow High School and more.

As guests explore the town square, sipping on hot coffee while enjoying Pop-Tarts® and other fan-favorite treats, they can snap a picture in front of the iconic Gazebo to capture the perfect Gilmore moment. This year the exterior of Luke’s diner will be dressed as seen in the show, providing the ideal setting for fans to reminisce about the many “life changing” coffee chats that were shared inside. The exterior sets of Lorelai’s and Sookie’s homes will be also be festively decorated for the holidays. At the Gilmore residence, authentic props including Lorelai’s 1999 Jeep Wrangler and mailbox (one that Kirk did not sell via his many entrepreneurial affairs) will be on display, plus much more. Celebrate Christmas at Hogwarts With This Winter-Themed Feast and Studio Tour

W e all love the holiday season tradition that consists of sitting around the fireplace with the family drinking eggnog, but this year, you might want to ditch your relatives to have a Harry Potter -themed Christmas.

This winter, Harry Potter fans will be able to dig into a magical Christmas dinner on the set of Hogwarts’ Great Hall in London , followed by dessert served on Platform 9 ¾, an after-hours Studio Tour, music, dancing, and Butterbeer.

In true winter fashion, the Great Hall set will be outfitted with decorations used for the actual Yule Ball scene in the movie, including Christmas trees and other seasonal ornaments. Hogwarts guests can also expect to find wintry decorations across all the other sets, just as they appeared in the films. The iconic Gryffindor Common Room will get its own cozy Christmas transformation, and the castle itself will be blanketed in snow.

The magical Christmas dinner and tour will take place on the evenings of December 10th through 12th, and it’ll cost about $315 per person. Tickets can be purchased starting on September 15th at 10:00 AM from the Warner Bros. Studio Tour website . The event itself will run from 6:00 PM to midnight.

Hogwarts in the Snow is an annual Christmas feature at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. This festive season, Hogwarts in the Snow London is running from 11 November 2023 to 14 January 2024.

The Harry Potter studio tour offers a behind-the-scenes look into the incredible work that went into making the films, and during Hogwarts in the Snow, visitors have the chance to see several of the film sets dressed up for Christmas and draped in layers of filmmaking snow. In this post, I’ll share the highlights and what to expect when visiting Hogwarts in the Snow London.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London

The Harry Potter studio tour is one of our favourite attractions in London . Visiting the Making of Harry Potter tour is a fascinating experience for the whole family, from seeing the authentic film sets to exploring behind-the-scenes secrets to discovering the magic behind the props and special effects. I have visited with my son five times since the WB Studio Tour London opened in 2012, usually during the Hogwarts in the Snow Christmas feature.

The Warner Bros. Studio Tour London is actually located in Leavesden, 20 miles north-west of London, where the Harry Potter film series made its home for more than ten years. The idea behind the Harry Potter studio tour was to preserve and showcase the iconic props, costumes and sets and celebrate the incredible craftsmanship behind the films.

The Studio Tour is set adjacent to the working film studios where all eight Harry Potter films were made and visitors can explore two soundstages and a backlot filled with original sets, animatronic creatures and special effects.

In addition to the Hogwarts in the Snow Christmas feature, WB Studio Tour London runs special workshops and themed events at other times of the year, such as “Behind the Seams” sessions on costume design and a popular Dark Arts at Harry Potter Studio Tour feature during the Halloween season. For the 2023 Christmas season , the Hogwarts in the Snow feature at WB Studio Tour London will be running from 11 November 2023 to 14 January 2024. The iconic film sets that visitors will see decorated for festive scenes – with wreaths, garlands and Christmas trees – are the Great Hall, the Gryffindor common room and boys’ dormitory and the Burrow.

The film sets that are transformed for wintry scenes and draped in layers of filmmaking snow during Hogwarts in the Snow, include Diagon Alley, where the cobbled stones and shop fronts are dusted with ‘snow’, Hagrid’s Hut and the Forbidden Forest.

One of the highlights of visiting Hogwarts in the Snow London is seeing the snow-covered miniature scale model of Hogwarts castle at the end of the Studio Tour. Each year, filmmaking snow is meticulously applied to the Hogwarts castle model, just as it was during filming with a crew member sprinkling the ‘snow’ mixture by hand with a sieve from an elevated work platform.

The Great Hall

The Harry Potter Studio Tour begins with a short video introduction about the studio and Harry Potter films. The next moment is one of the best parts of visiting the WB Studio Tour London, when the doors to the Great Hall are opened and visitors can step into the enchanting Great Hall, which, during Hogwarts in the Snow, is beautifully dressed for the festive season with wreaths, garlands and trees.

There are so many amazing details to look out for in the Great Hall and you’ll have a short amount of time to take it all in before the hall is cleared out for the next timed-entry group. This is the only part of the studio tour when time is limited, but you are welcome to come back in again once the next group has entered.

Each of the long dining tables have a seasonal feast laid out, as they did in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone , complete with prop versions of the roast turkeys and hams studded with cherries.

Look for the Christmas trees topped with witches circling on miniature broomsticks and the SFX flaming Christmas puddings on each table. When we visited, one of the crew members demonstrated how the Christmas puddings are lit.

Each of the Great Hall torch holders is a carving of one of the four house animals.

During Hogwarts in the Snow, fireplaces throughout the Harry Potter Studio Tour, including those in the Leaky Cauldron and Great Hall are ‘lit’ with special effects fire, created by John Richardson and the SFX team using a combination of water vapour and lighting effects.

At the top section of the Great Hall, visitors will also see the stage transformed for the Yule Ball, with snow-covered Christmas trees, icicles and an orchestra of magical instruments that were painted to match the silver of the Yule Ball.

Once you step out of the Great Hall, the rest of the Harry Potter Studio Tour is self-guided and visitors can take their time exploring until closing time. The magnificent ice sculpture created for the Yule Ball (in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ) is on display just outside of the Great Hall.

The unique gowns and robes worn by staff and students, including Hermione, Viktor Krum and Ron, in the Yule Ball scenes of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire were created by costume designer Jany Temime.

Gryffindor Common Room and Boys’ Dormitory

While exploring the next section of the Harry Potter Studio Tour, visitors will see some of the interior sets decorated for festive scenes. For Hogwarts in the Snow London, the Gryffindor Common Room and Boys’ Dormitory are decorated with the original props including handmade Christmas cards, some of which were created by the cast members during production.

The Set Decoration Department chose the tapestries in the Gryffindor Common Room for their medieval look and prominent use of Gryffindor colours – scarlet and gold

The interior set of the Burrow is decorated for Hogwarts in the Snow with a Christmas meal and decor.

The Special Effects Department created several magical household items that physically operated on camera, such as the self-washing frying pan and self-cutting knife shown on, both of which can be switched on by visitors through an interactive display panel at the Burrow interior set.

Diagon Alley

Diagon Alley is one of the best sets to see at the Harry Potter Studio Tour and during Hogwarts in the Snow, the cobblestone paths and magical shopfronts are lightly dusted with filmmaking snow.

Hogwarts Castle Model

The final part of the WB Studio Harry Potter Tour is seeing the intricately-detailed model of the Hogwarts castle. The castle model’s every courtyard, tower and turret were filmed and enhanced with digital effects to create the realistic views of the exterior of Hogwarts seen in the films, starting from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone .

During filming, a member of the crew climbed aboard an elevated work platform and sprinkled the ‘snow’ mixture of granulated paper and grains of salt onto the model by hand with a sieve – like dusting sugar onto a cake. Every festive season, the same process takes place at the Harry Potter Studio Tour for the Hogwarts in the Snow feature.

Guests at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour can pay to feast in the Great Hall used in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies.

What’s better than going through the Harry Potter sets on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour? Having a Harry Potter -themed Christmas dinner before the tour. You can have a (pardon the pun) magical night at the WB Studio Tour in England this year because for one night only, fans can have Christmas Dinner in the Great Hall they used for the Harry Potter films.

The event takes place on December 3rd (so you don’t have to ditch your family for real Christmas dinner), and according to Mashable , “the evening — which, as well as dinner, includes canapés, Butterbeer, a character wand, desert, drinks and entrance to the Studio Tour — will set you back a whopping £230 ($349).” The first ever “Dinner in the Great Hall” will take place from 6pm until midnight and is open to over 18s only .  There are no details on what the meal will entail beyond Butterbeer and canapés, but hopefully the delectable food J.K. Rowling outlined in the books will pop up on the menu.

After the meal the fun continues:

• Explore the Studio Tour, admiring sets such as the Gryffindor common room and the Weasley’s kitchen at The Burrrow, which will also be dressed as they were for winter scenes.
• Enjoy a selection of three festive dessert bowls on Platform 9 ¾ , alongside the original  Hogwarts Express.
• Drink Butterbeer in the backlot café and walk up the wizarding shopping street, Diagon Alley , before taking in the breathtaking Hogwarts castle model (covered in a layer of filmmaking snow especially for the festive season).
• Finish the evening with music and dancing, with a bar provided for those who wish to purchase additional drinks.

If you want to have yourself a very merry Harry Potter Christmas, click over to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour page and book your ticket now. Yes, it’s a little on the pricing side, but it sounds well worth the price of admission, although keep in mind that you’ll have to factor in the cost of travel and lodging as well.   For me personally, if I could afford to do this, I’d do it in a heartbeat. If you’ve got the galleons, I don’t know what you’re waiting for.

UPDATED: Celebrate Halloween and Christmas at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter

It might still be summer, but Harry Potter  fans will be looking forward to the spooky season and beyond. A whole host of magical Potter  events will be taking place, including at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter in Leavesden, England, where fans can immerse themselves in spooky Halloween events and the enchanting Hogwarts in the Snow feature.  

Dark Arts: September 15–November 5

The Dark Arts feature is returning for another year starting September 15, so get ready to experience a Halloween-ready Hogwarts filled with floating pumpkins and dimmed lights.

Don’t forget to pick up your Studio Tour passport on arrival so you can join the hunt for the Dark Mark, which you’ll find projected at various places throughout the tour. You can also keep your eyes peeled for the Death Eaters’ procession, which will showcase original costumes seen on-screen. Plus, join in with an interactive display with Harry Potter ‘s wand choreographer, Paul Harris, who will teach you spells and the importance of wand combat.

The Dark Arts event is taking place from September 15 through November 5, and tickets are available to buy online now .

Hogwarts After Dark: October 5–6

Hogwarts After Dark , the spooky Halloween feast at London’s Studio Tour , gives you a night of exclusive after-hours access and is also returning for 2023 on October 5 and 6.

With dimmed lights, spooky music, and patrolling Death Eaters, you’ll enjoy a bewitching dinner on the sets of the Potions classroom and Dumbledore’s office, followed by dessert on platform nine and three-quarters.

The Great Hall will be decorated for the spooky season with floating pumpkins, and you might spot some Halloween-themed treats as you pass the four House tables. You can also learn wand combat with Paul Harris, take part in green-screen photo opportunities, and take a look at a darker Diagon Alley, which will be lit especially for Halloween.

Tickets for Hogwarts After Dark cost £275 ($350) per person and can be bought online . You’d better be quick because tickets for the October 6 session have already sold out. 

Hogwarts in the Snow: November 11, 2023–January 14, 2024

When the spooky season comes to a close, it only means one thing: Christmas. There truly is no better way to begin the festive celebrations than with a visit to London’s Studio Tour to discover Hogwarts in the Snow .

The Great Hall will be filled with golden decorations that you’ll recognize from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone , and to top it off,  the Forbidden Forest, Diagon Alley, and the incredible Hogwarts Castle model will be covered with an enchanting dusting of snow.

Experience Hogwarts in the Snow from November 11, 2023, through January 14, 2024. Tickets are available now . 

UPDATE (September 16):

Dinner in the Great Hall: December 8, 12, and 13

Another magical opportunity for  Potter  fans this Christmas is to dine in the Great Hall while surrounded by the wonderfully festive Hogwarts decorations. 

The adult-only dinners are taking place on December 12 and 13, with an evening dinner and the opportunity to explore the Studio Tour after-hours. This event, which is open only to people 18 and over, costs £275 ($340) and has now sold out . 

For the very first time, the Studio Tour is welcoming children to the magical Christmas dinner on December 8, specifically those between the ages of 12 and 17.

There is ticket availability left for both adults and children for this event, with the adult tickets costing £275 ($340) and children’s tickets priced at £250 ($309).

UPDATE (September 19):

Due to popular demand, an additional date has been added for the adult-only Dinner in the Great Hall: November 27.

Tickets go on sale September 20 at 10:00 a.m. BST.
