Whether you're a football aficionado or just curious about Italian sports culture, this remarkable venue is designed to impress and inspire.

History of Casa Milan

The history of Casa Milan is relatively recent compared to the ancient and medieval landmarks scattered throughout Milan. As the club outgrew its previous headquarters in the Centro Direzionale in Via Turati, the need for a more modern and functional space became apparent. Casa Milan was conceived as a multifunctional space that would serve as the nerve center of the club's activities while also welcoming the public.

It was an ambitious project that took shape under the guidance of AC Milan's ownership at the time. The project aimed to encapsulate the club's rich heritage while looking forward to the future. Its construction was a bold move to cement AC Milan's presence, not just in the annals of football history, but in the fabric of the city itself.

Since its doors opened, Casa Milan has become a landmark for fans and residents alike. It is a testament to the club's commitment to innovation, community, and its unwavering spirit. As Milan evolves, Casa Milan evolves with it, a beacon of modernity and a symbol of the team's ongoing saga.

Why is Casa Milan Important?

Casa Milan holds a special place in the hearts of AC Milan fans worldwide; it's a tangible expression of the club's legacy and its present-day aspirations. This venue extends beyond the scope of a mere corporate headquarters—it's a cultural hub for Rossoneri supporters and a representation of the team’s identity. The significance of Casa Milan lies in its ability to connect fans with the club's illustrious past and exciting future.

Moreover, Casa Milan plays a vital role in the local community, showcasing the club's commitment to Milan and its residents. It's a destination that contributes to the social and economic vibrancy of the area, bringing in visitors from all over the world. The spirit of the club and its values are displayed here, not just through memorabilia, but through interactive experiences that narrate the club's storied journey.

For Milan, a city renowned for its fashion, architecture, and art, Casa Milan adds the dimension of sports excellence to its rich cultural tapestry. It stands as a modern-day landmark that harmonizes with the city's avant-garde character while fostering a deep sense of belonging among the global football community.

Casa Mila tours

Finished in 1912 by Antonio Gaudi, Casa Mila — also known as La Pedrero or ‘The Quarry’ for its surreal wave-like structure on the exterior — is the most beautiful building in Barcelona and was named after the family that commissioned Gaudi to create it. As you walk inside the foyer, the striking interiors are hard to miss. Here’s all that you can see inside this marvel.

The Rooftop

The sculptural surreal roof terrace is one of the main highlights of Casa Mila, decorated with Gaudi style structures wherever the eye falls. The rooftop not only provides a glimpse into moderniste artwork, with beauty comes functionality as well in the components of construction, like the staircase that leads to the attic, the chimneys and the ventilation towers. Some elements stand unfinished owing to the family’s financial issues but every element on the rooftop adds up to more than artistic expression and functionality which kickstarts the onlookers imagination.

Espai Gaudí (Attic)

Back in the days of inhabiting, the Espai Gaudí, the attic, was a multifunctional space as a communal laundry area and it functioned as a vast insulating air chamber. This space has now been transformed into a unique display dedicated to Gaudi’s work and his life, the Gaudi Exhibition. Here you can take a look at his life’s work through the mediums of models, plans, designs, photographs, objects and videos.

The Pedrera Apartments

It’s always riveting to take a glimpse into a time far behind and the Pedrera Apartments fires up that curiosity in you. This space reflects the lifestyle of a bourgeois family in Barcelona from the early 20th century, including details like furnishing, utensils and equipment of an era long gone. This apartment provides a double layered perspective — the architecture and the details of their lifestyle. Upon arriving at this space, it is accompanied by an audio-visual presentation which gives further insight on the modernisation and transformation of the city.

The Courtyard

The structure of the building is smartly designed around large courtyards and instead of master walls, the building is supported by pillars leaving two large spaces for patios to fit in. Gaudi’s creativity places two patios in the middle of the building but not without functionality. These patios allow light to seep into rooms and also facilitates ventilation. Looking up from the courtyard or down below at the courtyard gives you an aesthetically pleasing view but not devoid of functionality of the architecture as a whole as well.

Exhibition hall

The upper floor of the building holds the exhibition hall where music, art and cultural exhibitions take place on occasions. One of the most attractive elements of the Exhibition hall is the iconic staircase which holds a range of murals and the wrought iron work done by Gaudi which is still a fascinating work of art.

Are Casa Mila Tours Really Worth it?

Casa Mila is considered as one of the most revolutionary masterpieces in the history of art of Barcelona and had fired up quite a controversy upon reveal in the early 20th century. The waves on the exterior wing of the building, the asymmetrical design and the unconventional wrought iron designs in the building reflect the eccentric take on modernism which is a dreamy and thought-invoking sight to behold. So yes, the guided experience with Casa Mila tours is completely worth it as it enriches the entire experience of artistic discovery and the dive into early 20th century.

While Milan is celebrated worldwide for its fashion, art, and architecture, Casa Milan offers a unique and immersive experience that allows visitors to delve into the soul of this magnificent city.

Here are compelling reasons why Casa Milan should be on every traveler’s itinerary.

Top Casa Milan Ticket # Casa Milan: Museum Entry Ticket

Is a visit to the Casa Milan worth it?

We list seven of the most important reasons why a visit to the National Football Museum is popular with tourists.

A Tribute to AC Milan

Casa Milan is the official headquarters of one of the most iconic football clubs in the world, AC Milan. For football enthusiasts, this is nothing short of a pilgrimage site.

The museum within Casa Milan tells the incredible story of the club, showcasing its glorious history, legendary players, and unforgettable moments.

You can relive the triumphs and tribulations that have made AC Milan a symbol of excellence in the football world.

Architectural Splendor

The Casa Milan complex is a masterpiece of modern architecture. Designed by Fabio Novembre, the building is a stunning blend of contemporary design and Milanese elegance.

Its sleek lines, innovative use of materials, and striking aesthetics make it a visual delight. The entire structure is an architectural marvel worth exploring and photographing.

Interactive Museum Experience

The museum at Casa Milan isn’t just a static collection of artifacts. It’s an interactive journey through the club’s history.

Visitors can watch holographic videos of legendary players, try their hand at virtual penalty kicks, and even see the club’s trophies up close.

This immersive experience makes it enjoyable for visitors of all ages, whether or not they are football fans.

Casa Milan Store

Football aficionados will find themselves in paradise at the Casa Milan Store. It offers an extensive range of AC Milan merchandise, from jerseys and scarves to memorabilia that can serve as the perfect souvenirs to take home.

Whether you’re a devoted fan or just looking for a unique gift, this store has something for everyone.

Gastronomic Delights

Casa Milan is not just about football; it’s also a culinary haven. The elegant restaurant inside the complex, Cucina Milanello, serves delicious Italian dishes in a stylish setting. It’s a great place to enjoy a meal while soaking in the football-themed ambiance.

Cultural Events

Casa Milan frequently hosts cultural events, art exhibitions, and music performances, making it a dynamic cultural hub in the city. Check their events calendar before your visit to see if you can catch something special during your stay in Milan.

Convenient Location

Situated just a short distance from Milan’s city center, Casa Milan is easily accessible. Whether you’re in the city for a day or a week, it’s a convenient stop that won’t take up much of your time but will leave you with lasting memories.

How to dress up for a visit at Casa Milan

Dressing appropriately for a visit to Casa Milan is relatively straightforward. While there’s no strict dress code, it’s a good idea to be respectful of the place and the experience you’re about to have. Here are some tips on how to dress for your visit:

Casual and Comfortable

The atmosphere at Casa Milan is generally relaxed, so you can opt for casual and comfortable clothing. Jeans, shorts (especially in warmer weather), and comfortable t-shirts are perfectly acceptable. Milan can get quite hot in the summer, so lightweight fabrics are a good choice.

Football Attire

If you’re a passionate AC Milan supporter, wearing the team’s jersey, scarf, or other merchandise is a great way to show your support and connect with the football culture. Many visitors do wear AC Milan gear to the museum.

Comfortable walking shoes are essential as you’ll likely be on your feet for a significant part of your visit, exploring the museum and the surrounding area. Sneakers or comfortable walking shoes are ideal.

Modest and Respectful

While the atmosphere is relaxed, remember that Casa Milan is still a cultural and historical institution. Dress modestly and avoid clothing with offensive slogans or symbols. This is a sign of respect for both the place and other visitors.

Weather-Appropriate Attire

Milan experiences different seasons, so dress according to the weather. In colder months, bring a jacket or coat. In warmer weather, wear sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat to protect yourself from the sun.

Consider the Occasion

If you plan to dine at Cucina Milanello, consider dressing slightly more formally. Smart-casual attire, such as a collared shirt and slacks for men or a nice blouse and skirt for women, is appropriate. Keep in mind that this is an opportunity to enjoy a more upscale dining experience within the Casa Milan complex.

Comfortable Bag

Bring a small, comfortable bag or backpack to carry your essentials, such as a water bottle, camera, and any merchandise you might purchase at the Casa Milan Store.

Best time to visit Casa Milan

The best time to visit Casa Milan, the headquarters of AC Milan and a hub for football enthusiasts, depends on your preferences. Matchdays offer an electrifying atmosphere but can be crowded.

For a more relaxed experience, consider the off-peak season or weekdays when there are fewer visitors. Special events and exhibitions occasionally take place, so check the official AC Milan website for updates.

Lunchtime visits allow you to explore the museum and enjoy nearby dining options. Advance reservations are wise for specific attractions, and it’s best to avoid public holidays for a quieter visit.

Regardless of when you choose to go, Casa Milan promises an unforgettable experience for football fans and tourists alike.
