Are you a fan of blazers? Do you want to have the ultimate powerhouse article of clothing in your minimal wardrobe that works in a variety of situations from casual to formal work events? If so, then a packable blazer for travel is an absolute must-have!

We understand the importance of finding the perfect travel blazer, so we’ve searched high and low on the internet to bring you the very best options available. Get ready to elevate your travel style and be prepared for any occasion that comes your way.

Why is a blazer great for travel?

A blazer is great for traveling light because you can dress it up or down. It can look stylish when worn with dresses and casual trousers.

Blazers that are made from stretchy material, like jersey, can be just as comfortable as cardigans or sweatshirts, but look a little nicer. This is great for those trips to cities where people dress up a bit or for business travel.

Blazers also make good layering pieces . You could wear one as an outer jacket over a t-shirt and cardigan – add a scarf and gloves if it gets chilly. In even colder weather, you can wear a blazer under a winter coat. A blazer really is a versatile piece of your travel wardrobe !

What makes the best travel blazers?

Wrinkle-resistant.

A wrinkle-free travel blazer is the best for packing light. You can wear it often and cram it into a bag without worrying about it looking rumpled. Soft blazers that are made out of stretchy fabric, like jersey, will be less likely to wrinkle and can withstand crushing more than stiffer blazers.

Here’s one way to get an idea of how a blazer will stand up to travel use.

  • Crush the sleeve in your hand. Get as many folds of fabric in your fist as you can and squeeze for several seconds.
  • When you release the fabric, is it wrinkled? Do any creases or wrinkles fall out quickly? If they do, then this blazer is less likely to wrinkle when worn all day or when stuffed into a bag .

Cicy Bell Women's Casual Travel Blazer

The Cicy Bell Women’s Casual Blazer is a lined blazer that is reported to be lightweight and wrinkle-resistant.

Lightweight

A ladies’ lightweight blazer will be easy to wear and pack. A blazer that is too heavy could become uncomfortable to wear all day. A packed heavy blazer will take up a lot of space in your luggage. A heavy blazer will also take longer to dry if it gets wet.

One way to tell if a blazer is lightweight is to look for unlined or deconstructed blazers. These types of blazers will have fewer layers and less of the padding and other inner workings that give a formal blazer its structure.

An unlined, deconstructed blazer is also likely to dry more quickly than other types because it has fewer layers and seams.

Eddie Bauer Women's Departure Blazer

The Eddie Bauer Departure Blazer is an unlined, lightweight option with a zippered pocket.

Easy to clean/sheds stains

The best choice for an easy-care travel blazer is to find one that you can put in the washing machine. The good news is, blazers that can be washed also tend to be resistant to wrinkling.

For even more stain protection, you may be able to treat it with Scotchgard or a similar fabric treatment. These fabric treatments also often provide water protection, so you might be able to use your blazer as a light rain jacket. Anything that serves dual functions is a win for packing light!

Suitably The 24/7 Blazer

The 24/7 Blazer from Suitably is a traditional blazer that is machine washable.

A travel blazer with pockets may be more casual than other styles. Buttoned or zippered pockets are good for security. Hidden pockets that close are even better.

If you’re able to wear a men’s blazer, you’re more likely to find usable pockets on the inside of the jacket. Otherwise, be sure to check that a women’s blazer has pockets large enough that you can use them.

Encircled Unblazer

The Unblazer from Encircled doesn’t have hidden pockets, but it does have zippered ones.

Versatile style

The best travel blazers can be worn with business trousers, jeans, or a casual dress. The great thing about blazers is that most styles are versatile!

Xena Everywhere Utility Blazer

The Xena Everywhere Utility Blazer is a versatile silhouette, has inner and outer zippered pockets, and is wrinkle resistant and machine washable.

Our picks for the best lightweight, packable, women’s travel blazers

The 24/7 Blazer from Suitably is a traditional blazer that is machine washable, has stretchy fabric, and has pockets. This is a great pick when you need a blazer for formal business meetings and casual sightseeing.

The Cicy Bell Casual Blazer is machine washable and has functional waist flap pockets. This is a top pick for coming in 27 color options.

The Eddie Bauer Women’s Departure Blazer has different pockets, including a zipped outer waist pocket. It is moisture wicking and provides UV protection. It is machine washable and comes in regular, petite, and tall sizes. This is a great pick for a wrinkle-free travel blazer for women.

The Encircled Jardigan and the Go-Anywhere Linen Check Blazer

Encircled is a good brand for the best unconstructed blazers. The Unblazer is the most unstructured.

encircled jardigan on brooke

The Jardigan from Encircled looks more like a traditional blazer. Both have pockets and are machine washable and anti-wrinkle.

The Jessica London Bi-Stretch Blazer (left) and the Wool& Lou Ponte Moto Jacket (right)

The Jessica London Bi-Stretch Blazer is another traditional, lined blazer that is machine washable. This is a top pick because it comes in several colors and patterns and has an extended size range.

The Lou Ponte Moto Jacket from Wool& could be an alternative to a traditional blazer. This wool-blend jacket is machine washable and has side pockets.

Xena’s Everywhere Utility Blazer is a top pick for a women’s travel blazer with hidden pockets. The black color is perfect for a business meeting and the gray color is more casual. Both colors are made from machine-washable stretchy fabric that is wrinkle resistant.

An honorable mention goes to Etsy shops that offer all kinds of traditional and unique women’s blazers and blazer-like jackets. These stores are where you’ll find fun patterns that aren’t in traditional stores.

Packing a Blazer

A blazer is perfect for packing light because you only need to bring one. If that blazer is reversible , even better!

The Helene Clarkson Lindi Reversible Blazer is the perfect example of this. Solid black on the one side and a plaid print on the other for two looks in one. Not only that but the buttons are reversible from gold to silver to customize your look even further.

Lindi Reversible Blazer

Even if your blazer is not reversible, it can still be a versatile piece! Like we mentioned earlier, a blazer can be worn as a midlayer or an outer layer. You can also easily change up the look of your blazer by adding accessories or wearing it differently.

Button your blazer differently.

Technically, there are rules about which buttons should be buttoned when, but these depend on the exact style of the blazer and the context you are wearing it in. Also, most people don’t know about the rules. Feel free to wear your blazer buttoned or unbuttoned in any combination that you want!

Add a brooch (AKA broach or lapel pin).

There are so many fun, lightweight brooches to choose from that you don’t need to worry about looking dowdy by adding a pin to your blazer.

You can also wear a brooch anywhere you want! Don’t limit yourself to a lapel at chest or collar bone level. Pin the brooch high on the lapel or collar. Add it to a pocket. Pin it over a button. Don’t worry about following someone’s rules. Pin that beauty wherever you want! Bring one cheap brooch or buy one at your destination to use as a wearable souvenir.

Add a scarf or belt to your blazer.

A scarf can be worn around the neck in many styles that complement a blazer neckline (and keep you warmer). A scarf can also be worn like a belt.

When belting a blazer, try different styles. Belt the blazer while it’s buttoned or opened. Put the belt under your bust or at your waist. Wear the belt under the blazer, but over your shirt. Put a belt over a scarf worn as a belt to get even more looks. If it’s long enough, wear the scarf or belt diagonally across one shoulder. Before your trip, play with different ways of wearing a belt or scarf with a blazer so that you know which looks you like and what feels comfortable.

Carry a handkerchief or small scarf and wear it like a pocket square.

You don’t have to put the handkerchief in the breast pocket. If your blazer has large patch pockets on the front waist, you could stuff a small scarf or tiny tank top in there and let the color spill over the top. Again, experiment to see what works best for you.

Accessories can add so much variety to an outfit, but you don’t have to pack a ton. Pick one or two types that you wear at home and bring one that works with your blazer. Experiment with different ways of wearing these accessories and keep your eye out for things you already have that could be used in unexpected ways.

There are several options for women’s travel blazers. Whatever your personal style, there’s sure to be one for you. Don’t let packing light keep you from looking stylish or professional.

Meet the Fashion Experts

Emma Childs

A well-made blazer is the cornerstone of all great closets. So much more than merely a borrowed-from-the-boys piece, the best blazers for women range across the style spectrum—and each silhouette sends its own sartorial message. An oversized slouchy style delivers casually cool nonchalance, while a nipped-in jacket nods to the put-together, post-war glamour of Christian Dior's New Look. As Gaëlle Drevet , founder of every fashion editor's favorite brand, The Frankie Shop , describes, "A blazer is the number one closet staple [and] continues to be popular because it's not a trend; it's a look and an attitude." When you pick your blazer for the day, you're manufacturing your mood, too.

So, where do you begin when shopping for blazers? "There are many silhouette options you can choose: oversized, boxy, cinched, cropped loose, or fitted," details Drevet. But, ultimately, you want to stock your wardrobe with a well-rounded rotation: "The bottom line is you need to have a variety of blazer options in your closet, depending on what look you feel like having each day." The Frankie Shop founder does offer one guideline when curating your selection: "We would opt for solid color options, though, for timeless use." Stick to neutrals like black, brown, creams, and camels, and if you're eyeing a print, seek out classic graphics—checked plaid or sleek pinstripes, for instance.

Keep scrolling for a comprehensive breakdown of blazer silhouettes with input from Drevet and Marc Rofsky , Moda Operandi's RTW Buying Director. You'll find a curated edit of the best jackets on 2023's market to shop, too.

Best Oversized Blazers

"Boxy oversized silhouettes have been trending and continue to be shown on the runways," says Rofsky, which translates to an uptick in sales and interest in relaxed-fitting blazers. But, again, oversized blazers don't necessarily qualify as a trend since they're an evergreen constant for all wardrobes.

We recommend turning to The Frankie Shop when on the hunt for an oversized style —after all, they're a signature of the cult-favorite brand for a reason. "They offer a loose silhouette for those days you want to feel a little edgier," says Drevet of the roomy fit. "Strong shoulders can elevate a casual look for meetings where people will only see the upper part of your body, so consider what you want to say about your day and adjust the styling of your blazer based on that."

The Frankie Shop Bea Oversized Suiting Blazer

Best Collarless Blazer

"Collarless, boxy jackets in cozy materials that reference '80s and '90s-era Chanel are also a key trend of the season," Rofsky tells Marie Claire . Look for dare-to-be-touched textures like weed, wool, and brushed velvet, in particular. We're particularly partial to the below collarless sweater blazer from J. Crew, which proudly boasts Meghan Markle's stamp of approval .

Perah Contrast-Trimmed Wool Jacket

Best Leather Blazers

A leather blazer possesses the same signature edge as a leather jacket but with less of a "let's hit the highway" vibe. You can't wear your moto jacket to the office—but you can wear your buttoned-up leather blazer. Our favorite pick is any option by Deadwood: The brand repurposes excess leather from tanneries and upcycles the scraps into sharp and sophisticated pieces—like the Brooke blazer you see below.

FAUX LEATHER MENSWEAR STYLE BLAZER

Best Cinched Blazers

"For Fall, blazers with a cinched waist and strong shoulder felt fresh and create an hourglass silhouette," Rofsky articulates. The silhouette calls on the feminine feel of a peplum top but in a more tailored, suited-up manifestation. GANNI's waist-accentuating number takes the top slot on Marie Claire 's rankings.

GANNI V-neck Single-Breasted Blazer

Now, let's talk plaid blazers. The checked print is synonymous with autumn and academia, so if you're going for a bookish vibe, this is the blazer for you. "It instantly elevates an outfit and can be dressed up or down," Gaeele describes.

Cecilie Blazer in Wool Tweed

Best Belted Blazer

As the Moda Operandi expert says, "Blazers are a wardrobe staple that adds instant polish to any look"—especially those with built-in belts, as the added-on accessory creates even more silhouette definition. Try a relaxed, kimono-style, like Banana Republic's collarless twill option, or a stiffer and more structured, like Maje's hardware-adorned jacket.

Banana Republic Factory Twill Collarless Blazer

Best Pinstripe Blazers

Speaking of ' 80s fashion trends : let's chat about pinstriped blazers. The lined print exudes easy sophistication, calling to mind the look of a money-making businessman, and is surprisingly easy to style. "[Pinstripe blazers] are a wardrobe staple that adds instant polish to any look. They can be worn with jeans , over a slip dress , or as a full suit—even over athleisure," offers Moda Operandi's Rofsky.

Stella McCartney Pinstriped Wool Blazer

When native Française-turned-New Yorker Gaëlle Drevet founded the brand, she did so with the intention of serving women like herself— who believe feeling good means looking like themselves. Women who didn’t necessarily subscribe to the codes and cuts of most clothes designed for them. Real women with real lives and an unapologetic sense of self. Women who work as hard as the play.  Et voilà … the idea for The Frankie Shop was born.

Marc Rofsky

Marc Rofsky is the Director of Buying, Ready-to-Wear at Moda Operandi.  He oversees Moda Operandi’s complete Ready-to-Wear portfolio across the Designer, Evening, Contemporary, Resortwear, Denim & Ski categories for both the in-season (Boutique) and next season (Trunkshow) lines of business. Prior to joining the Moda team, he held positions as Director of Wholesale for Valentino and Senior Buyer of Designer Ready-to-Wear at Barneys New York.

What to Keep in Mind

Your questions, answered, why shop with us.

InStyle / Kevin Liang

Once considered a menswear staple, blazers are now championed by all genders for how they instantly add some polish and style to your outfit. They can make everything from a strapless dress to jeans and a tee office worthy while celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Dua Lipa have made the case for wearing blazers while running errands or hitting the town for a night out.

Considering how versatile they are, you need a few blazers in your closet. Yet we are going to be honest — finding a blazer that fits properly can take some searching, so we did the hard work for you. We asked celebrity stylists how to style blazers and researched the best ones available based on stylish designs, quality fabrics, and an extensive range of sizes. So, whether you are adding to your blazer collection or building it from scratch, we found the best blazers for your next power play.

Best Overall

J.crew parke blazer.

This blazer is high quality, reasonably priced, and designed for all body types.

We wish it came in more colors.

For a versatile blazer that suits a range of body types, budgets, and occasions, we pick J.Crew's Parke Blazer. In fact, the brand dubs it the goldilocks of blazers because it's not too tight or loose, not too long or short. The sleek design features moderate lapels, flat pockets at the front for a sleek look while a hidden inner pocket can store any small items. Reviewers like how the blazer is lined and that the sustainable wool and elastane blend feels high quality and doesn't wrinkle throughout the day. With sizes available in petite and tall, this design truly is a crowd pleaser. Though the black and heather coal shades are staples in anyone's closet, we do wish the blazer came in more punchy colors.

Size Range: 00-24, petite and tall available | Colors: 2 | Materials: Wool, elastane

Best Suiting

Theory etiennette blazer in good wool.

This sleek suit blazer has extra-flattering details.

It's pricey.

This suit means business. Designed by the workwear expert, the sleek design makes you look and feel your best. The mid-sized lapels balance your chest, while the cutaway front nips your waist and plays up your hips. Even better, the blazer is made consciously from fully traceable wool and eco-conscious mills in Italy. Who says workwear has to be frumpy?

Size Range: 00-18 | Colors: 7 | Materials: Wool, elastane

Cicy Bell Open-Front Blazer

This affordable blazer comes in almost 20 colors.

It usually arrives very wrinkly, so have your iron handy.

It's no surprise that this is one of the bestselling blazers on Amazon. You get everything you want in a blazer at an affordable price. A classic lapel, slight shoulder pads to add structure, and deep pockets. The stretchy material is machine washable for extra convenience, just skip the dryer. And with 18 colors to choose from, you can stock up on a few different shades to keep on rotation. Like with a lot of Amazon purchases though, this blazer often comes squished in a poly bag, so be prepared to steam it before wearing.

Size Range: XS-XXL | Colors: 18 | Materials: Polyester, rayon, spandex

Best Fitted

Mango fitted suit blazer.

This blazer adds all the structure without the bulk.

It's dry clean only.

From Taylor Swift to Kaia Gerber, celebrities have been rocking Mango blazers, which look way more expensive than they actually are. While the brand makes blazers in all the latest cuts and colors, you can't go wrong with this classic fitted suit blazer. The single button and notched lapel is simple and universally flattering, going with a variety of outfits from slacks to skirts. As you may expect, this blazer is dry clean only, so it will take more energy to fit into your laundry schedule.

Size Range: 1-22 | Colors: 4 | Materials: Polyester, viscose, elastane

Best Pinstripe

Favorite daughter the break-up blazer.

The vertical stripes and long silhouette creates one long, lean line.

We wish they made a petite version.

The navy pinstripe and longline silhouette of this blazer will elongate your figure while the shoulder pads balance out your hips. It's the perfect length to toss on top of a mini like Kourtney Kardashian or just wear over some tailored jeans. Some things are worth borrowing from the boys. Due to the longline length, this blazer may overwhelm shorter frames, so we wish it came in a petite version.

Size Range: XXS-XL | Colors: 2 | Materials: Cotton, elastane

Best Splurge

Anine bing blazer.

The color combination and pattern will remain stylish through the years.

It’s not made for warmer weather as thick and heavy material will make you feel toasty quite quickly.

If you’re going to splurge on a piece, pick a classic one that can be worn year after year — that means everything from the design, cut, color, and material need to stand the test of time. This piece is made from a textured Italian wool blend, making it thicker and warmer than your usual blazer. Even though you may only be able to wear it in colder weather, the herringbone pattern also never fails to look sophisticated and will stay in style for years to come.

Size Range: XXS-XL  | Colors: 1  | Materials: Acrylic, wool, polyester

Best Oversized

Everlane ’80s blazer.

This oversized blazer still looks structured, even in extended sizes.

You may have to size down if you are petite.

If you are a fan of the oversized blazer trend, check out this design from Everlane. Spotted on Katie Holmes, this '80s inspired blazer makes a statement with its oversized, relaxed silhouette and shoulder pads. One of our writers instantly snapped it up when she saw it on Holmes and says it's the closest she's ever felt to channeling her '80s style icon Julia Roberts. "It's light and slouched but structured and well-tailored," writes Tamim Alnuweiri . "The fit remains oversized on me, even though that is often overlooked with clothing in my size." We love that the blazer goes up to size 20, and those who are petite will likely have to size down. You can pair it with the matching wool pants or wear it over bootcut jeans like Kendall Jenner.

Size Range: 00-20 | Colors: 4 | Materials: Shell: Lyocell, cotton. Lining: Recycled polyester

Best Plus-Size

Eloquii the ultimate suit blazer.

This blazer is comfy and highlights your waist.

Not only is this blazer super comfortable — the brand claims it's as comfortable as your favorite cardigan — but the design is great for highlighting your curves. "If you are looking to accentuate your waist, look for a collarless style blazer that hits at the waist," says Stitch Fix stylist Stephanie Valponi . This blazer does just that and comes in bold colors like green and pink as well as basic navy and blue. Made from Camden Stretch fabric, the blazer moves with you while still maintaining its shape for a polished look. Though the blazer is fairly affordable, it is dry clean only, so factor that into the cost.

Size Range: 14-28 | Colors: 4 | Materials: Rayon, nylon, spandex

Best Wrinkle-Resistant

Athleta avenue blazer.

The machine-washable materials resist wrinkles and snags.

We wish it came in more colors than just black.

If you travel frequently and want a blazer you can pop into a suitcase without worrying about how it will look later, you've found your match. Made from nylon and lycra, this style is wrinkle and abrasion-resistant, so you don't have to worry about snags either. It's also machine washable, cutting out one part of your dry cleaning bill. Other practical details, like a UPF rating of 50 and an inner pocket, make it great for travel and commuting. The only thing that could make this blazer better is more colors.

Size Range: 0-26 | Colors: 1 | Materials: Nylon, lyrca

Best Double Breasted

Good american scuba blazer 2.0.

Good American

You get a formal-looking suit that can be worn to work and to everyday events.

You can only dry-clean this blazer.

For a more suited and tailored look, the double breasted blazer creates a fitted appeal that can be worn from the office to the cocktail hour. This piece is modern, yet timeless, with a strong lapel collar, slit pockets, and buttoned sleeves. It's also constructed with stretch fabric, which keeps it comfortable and safe from wrinkling. You can look and feel your best, as the smart suit glides with your movements and keeps you looking sharp. When it's time to get it freshened up, you will have to bring it to the dry-cleaners, however, as you cannot hand wash it yourself.

Size Range: XS-5XL | Colors: 3 | Materials: Polyester, elastane

Best Cropped

Laws of motion blazer.

Laws of Motion

You can scan your body and completely customize the size to your fit.

It takes longer to deliver.

After seeing this piece in person,  InStyle writer Bianca Kratky says she was pleasantly surprised with the stitching and feel of the fabric. The brand scans your body (from the safety of your home) after asking you a series of questions to custom-make the pieces just for you. Naturally, that means it takes a bit longer to deliver, but we think the custom fit and sustainable practice is very well worth it. Thanks to elongated sleeves, the cropped hem looks balanced out, especially when paired with high-waisted pants.

Size Range: Unlimited, customized to you | Colors:   5 | Materials: Wool, polyester, acrylic

Best Schoolboy

Polo ralph lauren double-knit jacquard blazer.

Ralph Lauren

The classic colors and shapes will never go out of style.

It runs slightly large according to the brand.

I used to have a college professor who wore this blazer to every lecture — I remember the brand's monogram — and now I see why. The classic design looks sharp and pulls any outfit together instantly. With its slim fit, this single button, cotton blend will skim your curves and not add any bulk. The gold buttons and monogram add just the right accent to the otherwise no frills designs. Consider it a one and done jacket. The brand does say it runs large, so consider sizing down.

Size Range: 00-18 | Colors: 2 | Materials: Cotton, viscose

Reformation Winston Blazer

Reformation

Reformation uses deadstock to make this beautiful blazer.

It runs large.

Beloved by Kate Middleton , tweed gives you that royal flair. Still this double-breasted blazer from Reformation is easy to wear with its loose fit and gray tones that seamlessly pair with other pieces. The double-breasted design has functional pockets and buttons, meaning you can actually keep your phone handy. Using deadstock, Reformation minimizes its carbon footprint and saves quality fabric from being thrown away. Considering that the model is 5'7" and wears an XS, the fit likely runs large and can swallow up petite frames.

Size Range: XS-XL | Colors: 2 | Materials: Polyester, acrylic, wool, nylon

Best Bouclé

Endless rose accent bouclé blazer.

The plaid pattern adds a touch of sophistication.

Pairing options may be limited by the jacket’s bold pattern.

You can expect pieces made with bouclé fabrics, like this blazer, to be soft yet structured and sturdy. The looped yarn adds a texture to elevate the overall look. Throw in a plaid pattern with a contrasting collar and you’ve got yourself a one-of-a-kind look.

You’ll find that the polyester and wool design is both long-lasting and cozy to wear. And while the number of outfits you can piece together with this bright blazer might be limited, it does have a matching dress for you to go full monochrome.

Size range: XS - L | Colors: 1  | Materials: Polyester, wool

Best Faux Leather

Blanknyc don't rush it blazer.

This affordable blazer is a fresh take on the leather jacket.

You might want to size down if you are petite.

Want a blazer that you can wear on a night out? Look no further than the It-Girl-favorite leather blazer. Swap it in for your regular leather jacket, and you'll look extra stylish with the intriguing combination of a sophisticated cut combined with a fierce fabric. We like BlankNYC's faux version that comes in your standard black as well as a rich green and brown and features an oversized fit with large pockets and a single button for effortless ease. Wear it with trousers or jeans during the day and then transition into the evening by taking a cue from celebrities like Gigi Hadid by keeping only a bra on below. The lapels on this blazer show off just the right amount of cleavage.

Size Range: XS-L | Colors: 5 | Materials: Polyurethane, polyester

Best for Summer

Bardot charlie casual blazer.

Both in color and material, this blazer is made for warmer weather.

It’s likely to crinkle easily.

In the summertime, you’ll likely want to swap out a wool blazer in favor of a more breathable, airy fabric that won’t trap your body heat inside. Enter: This heavenly linen-cotton blend blazer in a delightful lilac hue, perfect for warm months. The soft lavender shade invites a sense of whimsy into your outfit, while the linen will keep you well-ventilated and cool.

While we adore linen, it does have the tendency to wrinkle. Make sure to hang the blazer after each wear, rather than fold it, to avoid any creases. Otherwise, enjoy how the lightweight jacket loosely drapes along your body and invites just the right amount of wind to pass through.

Size range: XS - L | Colors: 1 | Materials: Viscose, linen

The Drop Belted Satin Blazer

The belt allows you to create a more cinched-in look.

This blazer is the ultimate day-to-night piece. Rather than a button closure, the silky blazer can be tied closed using the provided belt, which also helps to accentuate your figure some more. You'll still find the classic blazer details, like lapel collars and buttoned sleeves, but in a much more relaxed fabric (and vibrant color). As a matter of fact, we love the lively hue so much that we wish it was offered in more colors since we know yellow isn't exactly the most universal color to wear. We recommend pairing the bold blazer with a mock neck for the day and then a bralette at night.

Size Range: XXS-XL | Colors: 1 | Materials: Polyester, elastane

Best Colorful

Makemechic collar sleeve blazer.

It comes in nine fun colors.

We wish it had a more inclusive size range.

Still obsessed with the Barbie movie? Us too. While we may not be wearing head to toe pink daily, we do love adding pink pieces to our outfits like this hot pink blazer. A pop of color on a well-tailored suit is always a good option to own, and this one comes in eight additional shades. Wear this with a white bodysuit and your favorite blue jeans to a brunch date for a powerful yet playful outfit. Coming in sizes XS-L, we do wish it had more of an inclusive size-range.

Size Range: XS-L | Colors:   9 | Materials: Polyester, elastane

Best Casual

Abercrombie boyfriend suiting blazer.

Abercrombie

It's neither too oversized nor too fitted, making it a great everyday piece.

Reviewers claim that the color pictured does not match the color in real life.

Need a casual blazer to run into town and complete a few errands in? Well, throw on this blazer from Abercrombie with a pair comfy boyfriend jeans and a baseball cap because this blazer will have you running through your to-do list in style. Coming in a classic pinstripe, the blazer is neither too fitted nor too oversized. You can easily wear it to just about any occasion, and look like a relaxed and stylish person. Just be aware that some reviewers are claiming that the color in real life does not fully match what is pictured.

Size Range: XXS-XL | Colors: 1 | Materials: Polyester, viscose, elastane

Best Corduroy

Polo ralph lauren corduroy blazer.

Despite being made from a heavier fabric, this blazer is tailored and streamlined.

We wish it came in more than one color.

Cords have certainly made a comeback , and it won't be long until everyone will be wearing corduroy up top, too. Be ahead of the game with this corduroy blazer from Polo Ralph Lauren. Made from wide wale corduroy, the blazer brings all the texture and weight that we are looking for while maintaining a slim, tailored silhouette. Pockets add that '70s flair without adding bulk. While we love the earthy brown, we wished the blazer came in more rich shades.

Size Range: 00-18 | Colors: 1 | Materials: Cotton

Oversized, fitted, longline, cropped — these days there are so many different types of blazers out there that match different outfits and aesthetics. But no matter the silhouette, all blazers should fit you properly for the best look.

According to Valponi, a blazer should fit comfortably at your shoulders with the seam landing at your shoulder. It shouldn't feel too tight when you move your arms. She says the bend in the waist should also land where you naturally curve, providing movement while also looking customly tailored. You want to make sure the sleeves aren't too short or long — they should land right at your wrist. If they are a bit too long, you can cuff them for an instant fix or get them tailored. For those who are petite, look for blazers that come in multiple sleeve lengths.

A good shopping tip is to try on the blazer with different clothes underneath to see if it's not too tight when wearing layers, especially when buttoned up.

A solid black or navy blazer is a staple in everyone's closet — it goes with just about anything and can be easily dressed up or down. Same goes with classic prints like checks and stripes. Usually coming in gray and brown hues, these prints act as a neutral and are as versatile as black but have a tad bit more personality.

If you want to refresh your wardrobe with something new, consider a colorful blazer. From pastel to neon, colorful blazers instantly transform a basic outfit into a fierce 'fit. We love how the MakeMeChic Blazer comes in hot pink for a Barbiecore moment. You can even wear bottoms in matching shade for a sleek monochrome look. "For a smart, professional look, opt for sleek pants and a matching blazer," says Valponi. "Going tonal gives a powerful statement, allowing simplicity to speak for itself."

For a blazer you'll be wearing to work, you can't go wrong with a fabric like wool. It's breathable, wrinkle resistant, and elegant. A lot of professional blazers are also made from twill or other polyester blends. Keep in mind that these fabrics often tend to be dry clean only, so factor that into the price and convenience of wearing the item.

For a less formal look, go for fabrics like linen, denim, and corduroy, like Polo Ralph Lauren Blazer . But if you really want to make a statement, there are plenty of blazers made from velvet, sequins, satin, and leather that are perfect for parties and nights out.

How do I style blazers for work?

If you've forgotten how to dress for the office or want some inspiration on how to shake it up, Joanna Angeles, Head Stylist at Tobi, gives her advice on how to style a blazer for a professional setting.

"Heading back to the office, style this wardrobe staple with neutral monochrome separates or a matching set for an effortless chic look that's put together. Pair with comfortable shoes such as kitten heels, slingback pointed toe flats, or loafers," says Angeles. "Opt for a top that would work in a professional setting such as a mock neck or button up and tuck into either pants or skirt, and for warmer days, drape the blazer on your shoulders. For a fresh take on office wear, pair a blazer with a slip midi dress and mules or white sneakers."

How do I wear a blazer casually?

The beauty of the blazer is that it can also be dressed down for less formal occasions or worn in place of a more casual shacket .

"I love making formal attire casual and casual attire formal. Blazers are perfect for this," says celebrity stylist Solange Franklin. "To make a blazer look a little more casual, pair it with jeans and then with a sweater vest. Depending on where you're going, throw on some sneakers or booties and you have an easy, trendy look."

You can also take a cue from Hailey Bieber, who is often caught pairing blazers with hoodies or denim cutoffs for a no-pants look.

How do I style a blazer for a night out?

Coming in fun fabrics and colors, blazers should also be a part of your going-out wardrobe.

"Since blazers are a great basic, try mixing one with trendier pieces like a flattering corset or fun knit fitted top with asymmetrical details. Trending bottoms, such as a mini skirt or straight leg trousers, also pair well with blazers," says Angeles. "Finish off the outfit with strappy or platform heels and a handbag in a matching color. For a date night fit, opt for a romantic mini or bodycon dress which will mesh well with a boxy blazer."

Less is more when it comes to going out, and celebrities like Chrissy Teigen and Dua Lipa love wearing a blazer with only a bra underneath or nothing at all . Megan Fox and Emily Ratajkowski have also made it perfectly acceptable to wear an oversized blazer like a dress, often paired with knee-high boots.

Emily Cieslak , Associate Commerce Editor, and Bianca Kratky , Commerce Writer, both joined the InStyle team in 2022. Together they researched fabric, tailoring, and style to find the best blazers currently in the market. With the help of celebrity stylists Joanna Angeles and Solange Franklin , as well as fashion writer Tamim Alnuweiri , they have individually selected blazers that can fit all occasions, budgets, and bodies.

Having traveled full time for over five years and still, as a frequent traveler, I know the importance of purchasing good travel clothes. Clothes that will work for more than one occasion, are practical in their form, look good, and take up little space in your luggage.

There is nothing worse than a cumbersome travel jacket.

  • Practicality – The design must be practical for travel.
  • Suitability for the season and resistance against the elements.

What to Look for in a Good Travel Jacket for Women

If you want to travel light, you must be smart about what you pack. The more uses a single garment can fulfill, the better.

For example, if  traveling to Rome in winter, you’ll want to be both stylish and warm.

If you’re  visiting Bruges ; in the rainy season, you’ll want a jacket that can keep you dry and cozy. If you taking a road trip along the Maine coast , you might want a lightweight windbreaker.

Ideal Features of Good Travel Jackets

When deciding on the best travel jacket to pack, there are a few features to remember to help you make the best choice.

  • Weight: Jackets and coats can take up a lot of space and can be quite heavy. A packable, lightweight travel jacket is your best option when trying to pack like a minimalist. Look for a light, warm jacket that won’t weigh you down.
  • Pockets: A jacket without pockets is like a car without a trunk. Nifty little pockets can be a huge bonus when traveling. Even though you may have an anti-theft travel handbag; to store your things for the day, a well-thought-out travel jacket with pockets is always a good idea.
  • Warmth: There’s no point wearing a jacket, even a light summer jacket, if it doesn’t keep you warm. The perfect jacket will remain lightweight while keeping you toasty when the air outside is crisp.
  • Style: The ultimate travel jacket will be both stylish and practical. When choosing an all-purpose jacket for women, consider where you’ll wear it. Look for a jacket that can be worn confidently in various circumstances.
  • Packability: A packable jacket can make a world of difference. There’s nothing worse than a badly folded jacket that emerges creased after a long-haul flight. Or worse, take up your entire suitcase. The packability of a jacket is a key feature to consider.

Quality, down packable jackets can make excellent all-around 3 season lightweight travel jackets without the bulk of a heavy winter coat.

What is your luggage allowance?

All airlines have  luggage restrictions , so you must consider how much you can pack. Some will even have restrictions as to what you can carry onboard.

On some airlines, a coat is considered a personal item and can account for part of your total allowance.

If you are traveling for business and only carrying hand luggage, a small, lightweight jacket such as a travel blazer or ultralight down jacket in a pouch may be the right choice.

Heading to a winter destination? A packable down jacket  makes a great space-saving option in your luggage. Especially if you don’t want to be carrying a bulky coat on the plane . A down jacket in a bag also makes a great travel pillow.

What to Consider When Choosing a Good Travel Jacket for Women

With the key features of the best travel jacket in mind, let’s consider other factors that will help you choose from the many options out there.

The following questions will help you decide on which jacket best suits your needs and style of travel.

Where are you traveling to?

Your choice of destination will determine the type of jacket you will need. Research the temperature and climate of your destination at the time that you will be visiting.

Be mindful that the weather in some destinations can vary wildly in just one day—more reason for a packable jacket that stores easily in your handbag or backpack.

Even if you’re heading to a warm destination, such as Vietnam , you probably won’t need a heavy-duty, lined jacket to keep you warm.

However, you may want to find a packable, lightweight waterproof travel jacket to take with you. Anti-theft features may also be a consideration in this instance.

ExOfficio specializes in lightweight jackets for travel that are wind and water-resistant with loads of useful hidden pockets and anti-theft features.

Do you need jackets with hidden pockets?

The safety of the destination will also have a role to play in the jacket you pack.

Women’s travel jackets with hidden pockets provide a safe way to store items you need to access easily throughout the day. Perfect for popular tourist destinations where pickpockets tend to operate.

What is your traveling style?

Different styles of traveling can influence how you pack for a trip. If you are backpacking through a region, you’ll want to find a warm, lightweight jacket for travel that’s easy to carry around.

If you’re exploring a city, you want a versatile jacket that works from day to night and has a functional pocket configuration for the belongings you need.

The Best Women’s Travel Jackets For All Seasons

These top choices for the best travel jackets for women promise to keep you warm, dry, and stylish while keeping your belongings safe in every season.

Whether it’s a lightweight spring jacket you’re after for city sightseeing, a waterproof jacket for hiking or a stylish winter packable jacket, these jackets are proof you don’t need to compromise style for practicality when it comes to a good women’s travel jacket.

18 Best Travel Backpacks, According to Frequent Flyers

By Gabrielle Porcaro

Best travel backpacks for women collage featuring six different backpacks on black and white background.

As someone who frequently travels, I've slung duffels, totes , and travel purses on my arm, but nothing compares to using the best travel backpacks. Depending on the length of your trip, a suitcase can either be too bulky or not big enough, so you'll need the vital second bag to make sure all your clothes, tech, and gear securely arrive at your destination. Plus, traveling with a backpack can be more supportive for your back, freeing up your arms and hands to pull out directions on your phone or to hold an iced coffee. Backpacks can also be surprisingly roomy, so everything you need (or want) on your trip fits as comfortably as possible. The good news is there are a wide range of excellent options to suit any and all of your needs. Below, we found the most travel-friendly options and tapped Glamour editors and some of our frequent-flier friends to share the best travel backpacks.

What to look for in a travel backpack

When shopping for luggage items like a travel backpack, the comfort and capacity of the bag is key. You want it to feel easy on the body, which means wide straps or a hip belt to distribute weight, which comes in handy if you're running to catch a plane or carrying it through a crowded subway. Bonus points if the straps are they adjustable and padded. Consider the material: Is it lightweight, soft, and made of durable material like water-resistant fabric? As for size, think about the use of the backpack. There are weekender bags and carry-on size options you can use for long weekends or smartly packed weeklong vacations and styles for short day trips, hikes, or shopping excursions.

PAK Large Nylon Backpack

PAK Large Nylon Backpack

“As a backpack I recently added to my collection, I was impressed by how many features were hidden in what seemed like a pretty basic bag. First, it’s worth noting how seamlessly this slid on and off my back, making it a breeze to sit on the subway or grab my wallet to buy coffee. At first glance, I was confused about the zipper on the bottom of the front pocket, but when I realized it was a coat sling, which, as someone who runs cold and always has an extra layer, is something I will use again and again. Another made-for-me feature is an extra large pocket for water bottles since it’s a personal pet peeve when they aren’t wide enough for standard sizes. Having only worn this around the city for daily life, I appreciate that the shape and look of the pack are city-ready and more polished. When I take this on international trips, I look forward to using the hidden theft-proof compartments,” says Porcaro.

Travel + Leisure writers and celebrities alike have praised the brand for its comfortable sneakers and apparel, and right now shoppers can snag deals up to 50 percent off this weekend.  During this under-the-radar sale, you can score some of the brand's most iconic staples, including the widely loved Stan Smith sneakers , track jackets , backpacks , and more for as little as $15. But here’s the catch: We don’t know how much longer these deals will last, so make sure to head to checkout ASAP to grab these discounts before they disappear.

Adidas Cloudfoam Pure 2.0 Running Shoes

Shoppers gush over the cushioning of these appropriately named running shoes, claiming that they feel like “walking on clouds.” That comfort comes from the brand’s signature cloudfoam padding that is designed to keep feet supported all day long. Beyond this shoe’s comfort, these running sneakers have a convenient slip-on tab and textured outsole, making them easy to pull on while offering excellent traction. Plus, the sneakers are available in sizes 5 to 11.

Ever since Adidas launched its iconic Stan Smith silhouette back in the 1960s, it has been loved among celebrities and travelers for its effortlessly stylish look and comfortable fit. In fact, my mom has been gushing over these sneakers for decades, wearing them as her go-to sneaker. The sneakers are equipped with next-level cushioning to support the arches, toes, and heels. Shoppers can pick up a handful of colors, including navy and gold .

Adidas Men’s Stan Smith Sneakers

These sneakers are also discounted by 20 percent in men’s sizing. Like the women’s version, they feature durable rubber outsoles for anti-slip traction, meaning you can run through TSA knowing your feet will stay firmly in place. The sneakers come in sizes 4 through 13 and a number of colors.

Adidas Essentials Warm-Up Track Jacket

When it’s cool in the morning yet warm in the afternoon, having a reliable jacket is a must. We like this best-selling track jacket that boasts a full-zip design so you can customize your warmth. This jacket is machine washable and made from a material that’ll keep you warm without overheating. It also features two front pockets and is lightweight enough to tuck easily into a suitcase.

Adidas Adilette Sandals

With an impressive collection of more than 8,000 five-star ratings, these slip-on sandals have proven to be the ultimate multitaskers by shoppers. These quick-drying sandals effortlessly transition between “perfect house slippers” to slides you can wear at the pool and beach. Other shoppers have even worn them as shower shoes. Right now, I have my sights set on this lightweight, moisture-wicking visor, especially since it’s only $17 this weekend. So, when searching for the perfect travel jacket, keep those pockets in mind! Look for pockets that have some sort of zippered or button closure, and bonus points for hidden pockets or interior pockets! That way, your belongings are kept extra safe from pickpocketing or simply falling out.

This Icebreaker Hoodie has zippered pockets and internal ones to hold items!

Having a travel jacket with hidden pockets is super convenient for storing your phone, as it’ll be out of sight when not in use but can be grabbed in a flash to snap that perfect photo. Secure jacket pockets are also great for storing things like your cash, credit cards, or hotel access card. Close to your body and easy to reach, you’ll be able to check in on these items and make sure they’re safe and sound throughout the day.

Outer pockets are handy for those less valuable but still important essentials like lip balm, sunglasses, or gloves.

The Quince Water-Resistant Trench is classic and perfect for Europe!

There are SO many great styles of lightweight women’s jackets to choose from that are functional for travel, from leather jackets to trench coats to down parkas.

Readers share their go-to’s. One says, “I have several trench coats I travel with. They are great three seasons of the year and are adjustable to all kinds of weather.” Another reader shares, “I am loving my rain jacket that I just got! Cuts the wind, can layer if needed, and is cute.” And another TFG reports, “I like traveling with a leather jacket and a lightweight puffer with a hood to go over it. That way, if it’s a little warmer in the afternoon, the leather jacket is enough. The puffer can live in its own compressed bag for easy traveling.”

A trendy Faux-Leather Jacket can add chic and edge to a plain outfit!

For fall, faux-leather jackets make a great alternative to a wool or trench. Denim jackets are amazing options for spring and summer travels or layering with sweaters in the fall. Fleece jackets and hoodies are easy to pack and are perfect for layering under a heavier coat or wearing over a tee on a brisk morning.

Because you’ll likely only bring one or two jackets along, they need to be the most versatile item! Look for something that not only meets your needs in terms of weather and activities but also that you’ll want to wear repeatedly and that you’ll be happy seeing in your photos!

Packability

When it comes to packability, a lightweight women’s jackets for travelling that are easy to store is ideal, but that definitely doesn’t mean you should skimp on warmth or comfort! In winter, to save weight without compromising warmth, opt for insulated jackets made of down or down-alternative, which weigh very little but will keep you toasty.

Most readers like to make it easy by wearing their heaviest jacket on the flight and packing any additional jackets in their luggage. This is especially useful if you need to bring along a parka or some type of winter coat. Plus, boarding with a big, cozy jacket makes a great blanket or pillow, and it’ll be ready to snuggle into when you land at your destination.

If you want to pack a jacket in your luggage, a packing cube will help you save tons of space in your suitcase by compressing your clothes. And as a bonus, it’ll keep it folded neatly and looking nice when you pull it out!

Extra Features

Other features you’ll want to look for in a lightweight jacket for travel are versatile and timeless styles that will not only go with all of your clothing options, but that’s something you’ll love wearing for years to come. You’ll also want to go for fabrics that are easy to clean and care for. And wrinkle-free materials or materials that easily shake out and look presentable are a huge plus when traveling, as well.

If you need a waterproof travel jacket , make sure that not only will the shell repel water but that the jacket has waterproof seams and sealed cuffs so that bits of water don’t trickle in throughout the day.

Removable and adjustable features are always a plus, too. A hood will be super cozy on a rainy or windy day, but it’s nice to have the option of taking off in milder weather. An adjustable waist or a removable belt is also a plus, as they can give you the perfect, customized fit, either adding a feminine shape or allowing for extra room when layering.

Other Factors When Selecting a Travel Jacket Womens Style

Another major factor to consider when planning which womens travel jackets to pack is, of course, the weather at your destination. You should always be sure to check the weather forecast leading up to your trip so you can know roughly what temperatures and conditions to expect. That way, you’ll be prepared for unexpected rain showers on a summer’s day in NYC or an unexpectedly warm week on a fall trip to London.

Also, consider your activities. One reader makes a great point, sharing, “If you’re walking around in the sun on a cold day, a light puffer jacket may be fine. But if you’re sitting in the shade watching a sporting event for several hours, you will need more than that.” Another says that choosing a jacket “depends on the occasion or activity, not just the temperature. At 50 degrees, I might be in a denim jacket, a leather jacket, a long open coat, or just a cardigan. If I’m hiking, it’d be a mid-layer with a rain jacket in my backpack.”

Such a great comprehensive list of jackets. It’s hard to figure out easy to jackets that are also versatile. Going to be looking at some of these on the list for upcoming jacket weather season

Monkeydevil

For a recent carry-on only trip to Italy where temps were in the 90s every day, I needed a very lightweight rain jacket “just in case”….I ended up with a stretchy, ultra lightweight jacket from Vuori. (Bought at REI) I never ended up needing it, but since I got back I’ve used it a time it two and I really like it. Because of the stretch fabric, it doesn’t bind. It rolls down into a tiny package that I tuck into the hood (wish it had a little attached stuff sack) and it’s water repellent (not waterproof). I didn’t find it created the dreaded sauna effect so, for me, it’s a winner!

Alex

Hi Diane, thank you for sharing your winner jacket with us! Hope you had an incredible time in Italy!

Love all the ideas and products

I’ve been looking forward to buying the Kenya jacket for a while. Finally went to the Anatomie site & am so sad to discover they changed the zippers (yes, I now realize I could have found that out from reading further on your blog/comments). Such a bummer – I hope they go back to the non-shiny zips. I did buy the Skyler pants and absolutely love them; thank you for your recommendations!

Juliana

Hi Alex and team! I am a big fan of your recommendations… and I’m excited to try Anatomie for my future travels. Thank you!

Sue Sohi

Hello, I tried your link for getting 15% on Anatomie Kenya Jacket, but currently it is not working. Thanks Sue

Hi Sue, thank you for letting us know. Could you try using this code instead TFG15 and see if this works.

I am really sorry about this.

Laura Hamilton

Great review! I love mine.

I was about to treat myself to a new Kenya jacket but no banana.

To me the new zippers make the jacket look cheap and nasty. So I’m hanging onto my old one. No sale. A more muted tone would have worked, but these zippers just look cheap to me – in the photos anyway.

Please pass on the feedback to Anatomie – there’s no reason why they can’t offer both options.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us Laura ?

Harriet Ackerman

Does this jacket have a hood?

Hi Harriet, unfortunately it doesn’t. If you are searching for a rain jacket with a hood, these are the most popular jackets according to our readers: https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/rain-jackets-for-women/ Hope this helps!

Nancy

I see there is the Kenya you recommended, but also a fleece lined version (with gunmetal zippers!). Have you tried the fleece version? I’d love to have a jacket that can be worn in the high desert at night as well as a day by the coast over a tshirt. I’m from the midwest, and we only have about 2-3 weeks of mild cold temps before winter jackets have to kick in. I’ve never known how to shop for jackets!

Hi Nancy, thank you for reaching out! Yes I have tried the fleece jacket. For overall travel (or everyday wear), the regular one is awesome as you can just throw it in your bag perfect for warm to mild weather. Super cute and versatile. The fleece is good for cooler weather. Hope this helps!

Emily Janssens

Yeah if it still looked exactly like yours I’d fork over the cash. But I hate shiny zippers so that is not going to fly. Hope they bring out a new Kenya version with gunmetal zippers (I found three Kenya jackets on their site and the ones with gunmetal are the fleece lined version but they only come in black still and I have too much black already in my wardrobe so really want grey).

Aside from the shiny zip and the darker grey colour (in the new version the gray is darker than yours) it would be the perfect travel jacket indeed.

Hi Emily, this change is very disappointing as this was one of my favorite features. ? Fingers crossed for the future!

Kim

On Anatomie’s website the grey Kenya jacket looks a lot darker than yours. Is it the same color or did they change it?

Hi Kim, the jacket I have looks like the grey in the cover image. To me, when I wear it, it looks more grey than another color. One thing to note is that they’ve recently changed the zippers on the Kenya Jacket, which is disappointing as this was one of my favorite features. The jacket in the post worn by the model, not me, is green. (The grey was sold out at the time we published the post.) Hope this helps.

Michele

Are there any plus size options?

Hi Michele, sadly this does not come in plus sizes. However some TFG readers have shared some alternatives to the Kenya jacket that offer a range of clothing sizes including regular, tall, petite, and plus sizes, too.

Jacket from L.L Bean: https://bit.ly/3IspShi WenVen Jacket (plus it comes with a hood): https://amzn.to/3JCqOkt Levi’s: https://amzn.to/3JMwaJS

Hope this helps you in your search!

Emma

Now that the zips look too shiny, can you recommend an alternative to this jacket please? Ideally one that’s not so expensive too…! Thanks.

Hi Emma, have a look one of our other jacket articles for some alternative suggestions, you can find them here: https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/travel-jackets/ Hope you find a jacket you like!

Lara

Hi Friends, I bought the Anatomie Kenya Jacket (the Small size) in grey and the Anatomie Skylar pants in black (I ordered xs and waited too long to return. I bought the Skylar olive green pants on sale in Small and they are perfect!!! I love love the jacket and do wish it came with the gunmetal zippers instead of the silver zippers, I bring the jacket every trip and wear it a lot here in the SF Bay Area as well!

Hi Lara, that is amazing to hear, so pleased to hear you love the jacket!!! Their style and quality is tough to beat. Happy travels! ?

Kelly

Hi Alex. I do love the looks of the jacket and pants. However, do you have a more affordable option? Not everyone can or wants to spend that much money on clothes.

Denise

Alex, can you tell me about that crossbody bag you’re carrying? Thank you

Hi Denise, it is the the Travelon anti-theft classic messenger bag, featured here: https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/top-5-anti-theft-travel-bags-for-women-best-sellers/ . I like the bag’s neutral color, easy to wear style, and safety features. Hope this helps! 🙂

Bess

Sorry, also meant to ask you if your grey color of Kenya jacket is the same grey color that’s available on the Anatomie site, because the grey on the site looks almost chocolate brown?

Alex, depending on the photo, your Anatomie Kenya jacket looks grey, khaki and a lite shade of army green. Which one of those shades does it look like most in real life. I will purchase via link on your site 🙂

Hi Bess, the Kenya Jacket looks like the grey in the cover image. To me, when I wear it, it looks more grey than another color. One thing to note is that they’ve recently changed the zippers on the Kenya Jacket, which is disappointing as this was one of my favorite features. In answer to your second question, the jacket in the post worn by the model, not me, is green. (The grey was sold out at the time we published the post.). Hope this helps! 🙂

Diane

What kind of shoes are you wearing? I love them.

Hi Diane, thank you for your question! I wore the Skechers featured at the top of this post: https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/best-slip-on-sneakers/ Hope this helps! 🙂

Heidi

I love Anatomie. I have one of their jackets now and adore it. I’ve had my eye on the Lady Lugano for a while but can’t yet justify the price when I have so many other jackets. It’s beautiful though. Sigh. 🙂

alex

Their style and quality is tough to beat. Thanks for commenting!

CrifJohnson

Awesome jackets and beautiful colors as well. Loved it!

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

By Claudia Looi 2 Comments

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.
