Express - Access & Registration

Express – UCLA's online travel and entertainment reimbursement system – is accessible to any active UCLA, UCOP or UC Merced employee. Employees must have a Single Sign-On ID (UCLA Logon, OASIS, QDB) and password in order to log on to Express. See Related Information to find out how to obtain access to the system.

How to Register

Registering for Express is a one-time process. Once registered, employees are never removed from the system; they become inactive only if their employment ends.

There are two ways to register for Express:

  • Self-Registration - First-time login automatically registers an employee in Express. Note that students who have active employment appointments can be registered in Express as employees.
  • Once assigned as a department proxy, the department proxy link will be available on your Express main menu. Click on this link.
  • Enter the employee's University employee ID number.
  • If that person does not have a UCLA email address in the Orion directory, you will be prompted to enter one. Express only accepts UCLA, UCOP and UC Merced domain email addresses.
  • Department proxies can only register employees who have an active appointment within the department to which the department proxy has access. To register an employee who is part of another department, contact the Express Help Desk. The registration process is an overnight data update. When you successfully register an employee, that person will be added into your proxy list by the next day.

Reward Nights

How are hotels’ point amounts determined?

The amount of points that IHG® One Rewards members must redeem for a Reward Night at a given hotel flexes up and down just like cash rates. These fluctuations are based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, Best Flexible Rate, demand, brand, location and day of the week.

How often can a hotel's point amount change?

Point amounts by hotel can vary daily just like cash rates. For a multi-night stay, you will see an average point amount and daily point amounts just like cash bookings.

Once a member books a Reward Night could the point requirement ever change?

Once a booking is made, that member will lock in the required point amount. While the hotel's point requirement could go up or down post booking, this will not affect the member's original booking.

How far in advance can you see the point pricing for hotels?

You can search and book all hotel rates up to 50 weeks in advance, including rates for Reward Nights.

If a guest books a Reward Night and then the point amount decreases, can the guest recoup the difference?

The only way to get a lower point rate that appears after you have already booked a Reward Night is to cancel your existing booking and try to rebook it at the new point amount. Reward Nights are subject to availability, though, so a Reward Night rate could become unavailable before you are able to rebook a canceled reservation.

How do variable Reward Night point amounts impact the IHG One Rewards Credit Card “Redeem 3 Nights, Get the 4th Night Free” benefit?

Premier, Traveler and Business Premier U.S. Chase Credit Cardmembers can redeem the 4th night free for any stay of 4 or more consecutive nights regardless of the 4th night’s point amount.

Which hotels can IHG One Rewards Credit Cardmembers book using their Anniversary Free Night benefit?

Because the Reward Night point prices are variable, the hotels at which a member can use an Anniversary Free Night, which is valid for Reward Nights priced at 40,000 points or less, will likely depend on the member’s desired booking dates. For a list of hotels that may not be available please visit our Anniversary Night page .

IHG One Rewards Premier and Business Premier Credit Cardmembers also have the option of adding points from their IHG One Rewards account to redeem at hotels whose redemption value is higher than 40,000 points.

Will I earn points or miles on Reward Nights?

When staying on a Reward Night, you will not earn points or miles on the room rate or room rate equivalent; however, you may earn points or miles for all other Eligible Charges. “Eligible Charges” can include food and beverage, telephone, laundry, and in-room movies charged to a member's room. Eligible Charges can vary by hotel brand and location.

Who is eligible for Reward Night discounts?

Eligible Platinum Elite, Diamond Elite and IHG One Rewards credit cardholders may receive exclusive access to select discounts on Reward Nights at participating hotels. Eligible cardmembers will have early access to Reward Night discounts.

Can I use a combination of points and cash on a Reward Night reservation?

The IHG One Rewards Points & Cash function enables you to redeem a combination of your existing points and points purchased at the time of booking, to book a Reward Night.

Points & Cash Reward Nights may be redeemed on the IHG One Rewards website , the IHG One Rewards App, or by calling IHG Reservations.

If I cancel a Reward Night reservation that was made through the Points & Cash program, can I get a refund?

If a Reward Night booked using the Points & Cash function is cancelled in accordance with Reward Night terms and conditions and within the hotel's cancellation policy, all points, including the points purchased at the time of booking, will be redeposited into your IHG One Rewards account. The cost for the points purchased is non-refundable.

How late can I cancel a Reward Night reservation?

Most Reward Night reservations will allow you to cancel a day before your check-in date. Individual hotels may have unique cancellation policies, though, so you should always check your individual rate details for more information.

How soon will I get my points back if I cancel a Reward Night reservation?

If you cancel your Reward Night reservation in accordance with Reward Night terms and conditions and within the hotel's cancellation policy, the points will be immediately redeposited in your IHG One Rewards account.

What will happen to my points if I cancel beyond the cancellation date?

If you cancel your Reward Night reservation after the time permitted by the hotel's cancellation policy, the points will still be redeposited in your IHG One Rewards account but the hotel will charge the credit card used to make the reservation, in the amount of the hotel’s cancellation fee.

Do I need to make a reservation to redeem a Reward Night?

Reward Nights require a reservation. Please select Reward Nights as your rate preference when booking through the IHG website or through the IHG One Rewards App.

How soon can I book a Reward Nights reservation?

While we encourage members to book Reward Night reservations in advance, most can be booked as late as the check-in date, as long as Reward Night rates are still available at your preferred hotel.

What type of room can I book under Reward Nights?

Reward Night reservations apply to standard rooms only as defined by each participating property.

How many rooms can I book under Reward Nights?

When redeeming points for a Reward Night, you may only book one room at a time. Continue to complete your reservation with one room. Once you complete your Reward Night reservation you will be given the option to duplicate the reservation.

IHG® One Rewards Points

If it has been more than 6 weeks and your points are still missing, fill out a  Missing Points  form

How many points do I earn when I stay? If you enroll in IHG One Rewards while staying at any IHG hotel (excluding InterContinental Alliance Resorts and Mr & Mrs Smith partner hotels), you will earn 1,000 points for that qualifying enrolling stay. For subsequent stays, you will earn ten (10) points per US dollar or local currency equivalent on qualifying stays at most IHG branded hotels and five (5) points per US dollar or local currency equivalent at Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites properties. Exceptions include:

  • At IHG Army Hotels, members earn three (3) points per US dollar

  • At IHG Branded Residence properties, excluding voco Residences, members earn two and a half (2.5) points per US dollar, or local currency equivalent
  • IHG One Rewards is only applicable at select Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas properties

Can I earn points for stays that occurred prior to my enrollment in the IHG One Rewards program? IHG One Rewards points cannot be retroactively credited for stays prior to enrollment.

What do I need to do to ensure that I earn points whenever I stay at your hotels? To receive points, be sure to book through IHG’s websites, the IHG One Rewards App, IHG WeChat mini program, IHG Customer Care, or directly with an IHG branded hotel. Ensure your IHG Rewards member number is added when making the reservation.

What is the difference between a stay and a night? A “night” is considered one night at any of our hotels. A “stay” can consist of any number of consecutive nights at the same hotel, regardless of frequency of check-in/check-out.

When is a night or stay considered qualifying? A "stay" or "night" is qualifying when paying qualifying room rates. See the  IHG One Rewards Membership Terms & Conditions  for more details on qualifying stays.

What are qualifying room rates? Qualifying Rates include most business and leisure rates, such as Advance Saver rates, Best Flexible rates, global sales negotiated rates (including but not limited to Corporate Gold rates), national/regional/local government rates, and specified leisure rates as confirmed by IHG’s reservation systems. In Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan), Qualifying Rates include all locally negotiated rates. Note: In Greater China, Qualifying Rates also include all corporate negotiated rates settled with hotels via regular payment. In all other parts of the world, locally negotiated rates are classed as Qualifying Rates if the rate is discounted less than 30%.

See the  IHG One Rewards Membership Terms & Conditions   for more details on qualifying room rates.

Can I earn points and miles at the same time? Your IHG One Rewards account must reflect either a points or miles earning preference. However, you can switch from one to the other at any time by updating the  preferences  on your account. Occasionally, there are IHG One Rewards promotions that offer points only, so if you are a miles earner you will earn points on these offers. This information will be clearly displayed in the promotion details.

How do I change my earning preference? To change your earning preference sign into your IHG One Rewards account, go to  My Account  and click Preferences to select your choice of earning IHG One Rewards points OR airline miles.

Why travel to Moscow

Contrasts: 12th century monasteries and some of the tallest skyscrapers in Europe can be found side-by-side in this complex and captivating city. The diversity of this mega-city is astounding. Only a few steps away from the solemn red facade of the Kremlin and the sounds of righteous church bells, a buzzing night scene and alternative-fashion boutiques can be found.

Culture: In Moscow only the best goes. Be it a theatre, restaurant or gallery, the standards are certain to be world-class. The Bolshoi ballet company is reputed to be even better than the Mariinsky’s and “MMOMA” (Moscow’s museum of modern art) exhibits works of art as profound as any that could be found in the famed MOMA.

Convenience: Unlike the rest of Russia, it’s easy enough to get by with just English in Moscow and, driving excepted, it is surprisingly safe: the murder rate is lower than in some of America’s major cities.

Why visit Moscow

It would take more than two days to walk around the perimeter of the biggest city in Europe, Moscow. Many of its inhabitants barely know what’s beyond the few blocks around their flat and there are so many attractions that it’s almost impossible to know where to start. If there is such a thing as an antidote to boredom, Moscow City is it. The mind-boggling range and diversity of things to do, places to eat, parks, historical monuments and more means that a vacation in Moscow has a wealth of activities to offer for every type of traveler, from young families to retirees.

Reasons to Vacation in Moscow in 2022

The Bolshoi theatre is familiar to almost everyone as Russia’s grandest theatre, but what people don’t know is that there are many more bolshoi (big) sites in Moscow that are worth travelling all the way to Moscow to see. For more than 100 years, the world’s biggest bell has been hidden behind the Kremlin’s walls and inside Moscow’s main park (which is bigger than some countries!) there is the world’s largest outdoor ice-rink. Travelers that visit Moscow can stay at the Izmailovo, Europe’s biggest hotel, then eat at the largest and most historic McDonald’s in Europe and after that have fun at the largest European indoor theme park!

Ancient Past & Stunning Architecture:

As those who travel to Moscow will see, just because Moscow is a city of record-breaking, glitzy high-rises doesn’t mean that there is no history. On the famous Arbat street, time-worn, wooden storehouses and century-old churches are squashed up against grey, soviet blocks which are then towered over by 21st century office-blocks. Unlike its much younger sibling, St Petersburg, Moscow’s roots stretch way back to the 12th century. Within the walls of the Kremlin, the city’s oldest building the Cathedral of Assumption can be admired in all its 500+ years of age.

Culture & Convenience

For a foreigner who has never visited Russia, Moscow is the perfect stepping stone into this great land of mystery. From the country’s best classical ballet troupes to snow-white troikas trotting through the parks, all the highlights of Russian culture can be had in Moscow without any of the complications that would be expected in other, less developed regions of Russia.

Cheap as Caviar

In Moscow, everything is bargain when with the current foreign exchange rates being what they are. Even caviar doesn’t seem so dear when the exchange rate is at 60rub to the dollar, so go on indulge yourself! Take your 2022 vacation in Moscow and have the best of both worlds, with European luxury at very affordable prices.

Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

We had a great time both in Moscow and St Petersburg. Your travel agency was excellent in coordinating the whole trip. Everything worked like clockwork. The guides assigned to us were very nice and friendly. They had a great knowledge of their subjects. The cars and the drivers were great. The hotels were good and the itinerary was good. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. It was nice dealing with you and your company. Thank you very much for a great Russian experience. Have a great future ahead

Express is warning the state that all 615 workers at its two main offices in Columbus are at risk of losing their jobs because of this week's bankruptcy filing by the retailer.

Express said in the filing with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services that the bankruptcy filing may result in the permanent closure of its offices at 1 Express Dr. off of Morse Road and 235 N. Fourth St . Downtown.

"The company has been attempting to sell or restructure its business, refinance its existing debt, and/or otherwise procure additional liquidity to maintain ordinary course operations," Express said in the notice. "At this time, the company does not know if these efforts will succeed."

"The purpose of the notice is to inform you that, if our sales or restructuring efforts fail altogether, or, in the event of a sale, if the buyer of the business fails to provide a sufficient number of job offers to current employees at this location, all employees employed at or reporting to the Ohio office will be permanently laid off and the Ohiooffice will be permanently closed," the company said.

Express said based on the best information it has now, layoffs are expected to occur on June 20 or within two weeks after that.

As part of the bankruptcy filing on Monday, Express said it has received an offer for the potential sale of most of its stores from a group led by WHP Global, which owns several brands, including Toys "R" Us.

It also has said it plans to close 95 Express stores and all of its UpWest stores. The UpWest website shows 10 UpWest stores. Express had previously closed the UpWest store at Easton Town Center.

Express said in a bankruptcy court filing that it expects the stores to close by June 30.

Express also operates the Bonobos Guideshop brand that has about 60 stores.

Over the past year, Express said it has closed 100 stores that it has 584 stores as of the time of the filing.

Express Inc . has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and will close nearly 100 retail stores , the company announced Monday.

Express, the Columbus, Ohio-based brand and longtime mall retailer, is also the parent company of Bonobos and UpWest. In a press release Monday, Express said it plans to close approximately 95 Express retail stores and all of its UpWest stores.

The locations of closing Express stores were not immediately specified.

Closing sales at the affected stores are scheduled to begin Tuesday, April 23.

All of Express' brands are still fulfilling orders and processing returns. Its merchandise policies remain unchanged, and gift cards and store credits are currently being redeemed in-store.

Express currently operates about 530 Express, Express Edit and Express Factory Outlet stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, according to the store locator , as well as seven stores in Mexico and Central America.

The company also operates around 60 Guideshop locations and 12 UpWest stores.

Express files for Chapter 11

The company has filed for voluntary Chapter 11 petitions in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware.

Express said it has received a $35 million commitment in new financing from certain existing lenders, subject to court approval, in addition to the $49 million it received from the IRS on April 15 related to the pandemic-era CARES Act.

According to the release from Express, bankruptcy was filed to "facilitate" a formal sale of its operations retail stores to an investor group, which includes WHP Global, Simon Property Group and Brookfield Properties.

Express CEO Stewart Glendinning said the proposed transaction will "provide us additional financial resources, better position the business for profitable growth and maximize value for our stakeholders."
