discover more about desert safaris across Africa
Whilst the African desert is typically dismissed as one of the less interesting locations for both leisure and observational safaris, both Namibia and Botswana offer ultimate desert safari destinations that provide surprisingly high-quality wildlife viewing.
Even in desert safari destinations elsewhere in Africa – such as the Sahara – the real majesty lies in the subtlety of the landscape and the event. You may not necessarily see sights that astound you, but you will certainly come in touch with the peace and beauty of nature. Alternatively, desert safaris can offer a diverse range of activities for tourists, including camelback tours.
True deserts are home to mostly small animals, many of which make their primary appearances after the sun falls. Nonetheless, there are some interesting things to see during daylight hours.
For these daytime sightings, the best place to go for your safari is Namibia where virtually the whole range of African wildlife can be found, adapted to desert conditions . The landscape is largely flat with grass dispersed unevenly throughout. The biggest asset to the area is its abundance of game-type wildlife. If you’re more attuned to scholastic endeavors, the Namib desert is the oldest known hot desert in the world. Safaris in both of these areas are easily scheduled and highly popular.

Desert safaris can throw up all sorts of wildlife
Top desert safari destinations
- Namib Naukluft National Park in Namibia is perhaps the ultimate desert safari destination. Wildlife abounds, with the chance of seeing desert-adapted elephants and rhinos, alongside spectacular sand dunes up to 300m high.
- The Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana is characterized by open plains, vast saltpans, and ancient riverbeds. Large numbers of grazers are prey for the Kalahari lions, making for exciting game viewing. The Kalahari Desert is on our list of the world’s largest deserts .
- Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa , where blue skies meet red dunes together with plenty of Southern African wildlife, making it an ideal desert location for game viewing and photographic safaris.
Tips for taking a desert safari
- If it’s a self-drive safari in a desert ensure your vehicle is in good condition and carry spare tires, extra headlights, and sufficient water and fuel to cover your trip.
- Plan your route in advance, advise someone about your itinerary and take a good GPS device and mobile or satellite phone.
- Consider purchasing a pure sine wave inverter to keep your devices running smoothly in your car. (Here on TheDrive is a useful guide on choosing the right inverter for your vehicle.)
- In a desert scenario, the recommended minimum fluid intake is 4 liters a day.
- Loose cotton clothing is recommended as it allows air to circulate and sweat to dry. Long sleeves, trousers, and an all-important safari hat will give important protection against the sun. Night temperatures in the desert can dip very low, so take a fleece or warm, lightweight jacket.

Dubai desert safari vs. other desert safari: which is the best.

Dubai is known for genuinely amazing experiences in the city or the desert. Given the city is surrounded by majestic deserts with a plethora of activities for all ages. However, people often ask why the Dubai desert safari over others. Well, Dubai desert safari is one of the world-famous adventure and entertainment spots with hundreds and thousands of tourists every month. This is why you might have heard about other deserts but not about desert safaris. The reason might be the accessibility, cost, or range of activities available. A lot of things set Dubai Desert Safari apart from the rest; let’s dive into a more detailed comparison for clarity.
Comparison of Dubai Desert Safari vs. Other Desert Safaris
So you may wonder, what makes a Dubai Desert Safari different, and better than the other desert safaris out there? Now, let’s examine a side-by-side comparison.
When it comes to location, there’s no place like Dubai. You’ll find the city in the United Arab Emirates, and it’s like a cosmopolitan hub, which is accessible for all with easy visa access. Dubai is one of the countries where you find a massive diversity, which is only because of the opportunities and entertainment it offers.
However, traveling to other parts of the world for a desert safari could take you twice as long—or more—to get there. Moreover, the country might not accept as many tourists, or the deserts might not be as travel friendly as the ones in Dubai due to the wildlife and temperature. This is one of the core reasons the Dubai desert safari is the most popular.
The deserts of Dubai are very easily accessible, only 2-4 hours away from the city, and are safe to visit at any time of the day. No matter which part of the world you belong to, visiting Dubai is easier than many other countries in the world.
Experiences
A Dubai Desert Safari offers a variety of experiences not found with other desert safaris. You’ll find activities such as sand boarding, quad biking, dune bashing, hot air balloon rides, ATV biking, henna painting, sheesha smoking, and camel rides all bundled in one package that keeps your itinerary packed from sunrise to sunset. Also, you can’t ignore the food that is a wholesome experience in itself. You won’t find a continental BBQ buffet on any other desert safari as big as the one on the Dubai desert safari.
Accommodations
You can access campsites with luxurious amenities such as air-conditioned tents, fire pits, and restaurant-style dining options. Some even have swimming pools and spas for guests who want some extra pampering! All these and more are available when you choose a Dubai Desert Safari over other desert safaris that may not offer these luxuries or experience variety. In fact, you will also come across several desert safari tours from around the world that would only give you a wildlife visit or camel riding but not the kind of stay and accommodation you get on a desert safari tour.
No matter how much you explore, you won’t find any desert safari as reasonable as Dubai desert safari, with packages starting from as low as 65$. Imagine the bulk of activities, travel, adventure, entertainment, food, and whatnot. While this is just the starting price, if you want to opt for more activities or want a luxurious desert safari in Dubai, you can ask your tour operators to customize your package. Given the fact other desert safaris don’t have as many activities, the price for this one is above par when compared with the rest.
The tour timings are extremely convenient when going for a Dubai desert safari. The deserts in Dubai are usually warm during the day but extremely cool to enjoy the activities as the sun starts to go down.
Regardless of that, the heat of the Dubai desert is much more bearable as compared to other deserts in the world. Also, people who want to avoid the warm weather can choose the timing based on their preference. For a Dubai desert Safari, you can opt for the following:
- Sunrise desert safari
- Morning desert safari
- Evening desert safari
- Overnight desert safari
What Activities Are Provided in a Dubai Desert Safari?
If you’re wondering what a Dubai Desert Safari experience has to offer, then it’s worth mentioning that plenty of activities are available. So what makes it special compared to other desert safaris? Well, you can get up close and personal with desert wildlife and have plenty of time to explore the sand dunes, look out for camels and travel in the heart of the desert, and soak up the culture with exotic performances. Here are some activities you might encounter on a Dubai Desert Safari:
- Camel riding
- Sandboarding
- Quad biking
- Dune bashing in 4×4
- Sand biking
- Vista watching
- Henna painting
- Exotic belly dancing
- Tanoura dancing
- Breathtaking fire show
- BBQ Dinner in the desert under starlit skies
- Breakfast after a sunrise
Each tour company will have unique activities, so researching before signing up for any safari is worth it. This way, you can guarantee yourself the ultimate desert experience!
Tips for Planning the Perfect Dubai Desert Safari
If you’re planning a Dubai desert safari , you’ll need to decide which type of safari experience is best for you: sunrises, mornings or full days, or even overnight tours. You have the option to select from a diverse range of activities, including dune bashing, quad biking, camel riding, sandboarding, and even hot air ballooning! Here are some tips to help you plan the perfect Dubai desert safari:
- Decide on the duration: Whether you’re looking for an awesome excursion during sunset for a few hours or a full-day adventure, there are different types of tours to fit your schedule. Remember that the desert safari in Dubai can last between 5 to 7 hours altogether.
- Know what activities are available: Depending on your interest and budget, Dubai’s desert safaris offer a variety of Camel riding, 4×4 dune bashing, and other fun activities that both adults and kids can enjoy.
- Choose the right tour operator: Research your tour operator well in advance to ensure quality service and safety measures are taken before embarking on your journey across the Arabian Desert.
- Wear appropriate clothing: Pack comfortable clothes that suit the weather conditions of the Middle East as temperatures may vary throughout the day – especially during summer months – so appropriate headgear is essential too!
In conclusion, the Dubai Desert Safari is a unique experience offering everyone something thrilling or calming. Whether you are looking for a cultural experience, an adrenaline-pumping adventure, or just a day out in the sun, the Dubai Desert Safari offers something for everyone. With its breathtaking landscapes and its world-class amenities, it is not surprising that it has become such a popular destination. So if you’re looking for a desert adventure, the Dubai Desert Safari might just be for you.

15 Best Desert Safaris in Dubai
By Maresa Manara

A desert safari is one of the best ways to experience Emirati culture. From quad biking over sand dunes to camping under the stars to taking a sunrise hot air balloon tour, here's our pick of the very best desert safaris in Dubai. Ante up the adrenaline, and dive on in.

Bedouin Life, Falconry, and Wildlife Drive by Platinum Heritage Arrow
While this tour’s selling point is that it lets guests "experience life as a Bedouin nomad," being picked up at your hotel door in a luxury Land Rover sets things off on a more comfortable foot. Camels will take you to the Bedouin camp in time for sunrise, and the wildlife safari in the Desert Conservation Reserve, which stops to see local animals, is once-in-a-lifetime. Guides are great: they’ll help you prepare traditional Arabic dishes (Ful medames, Arabic bread, and desserts) and explain the ins and outs of local Arabic dancing.

Overnight Safari by Rayna Tours & Travel Arrow
Drivers take Al Awir road into the desert for some dune driving and photos at sunset. From there, head to the camp for camel rides. Next up, there’s a belly dancing show and open bar, henna painting, and a fire show. However, it’s the overnight experience that is truly special. Once all the other guests have left, guides set up camp with sleeping bags and blankets, and a special star gazing talk. Watching the sunrise from your camp over breakfast is unforgettable. If you pre-book, guides will stop for some sand skiing and quad biking opportunities on the way back to Dubai.
Evening Desert Safari by Atlanta Safari Dubai Arrow
There’s something magical about venturing into the desert at night, and this late afternoon-evening safari is no different. This is the kind of tour where guests feel completely looked after. Once everyone reaches camp, there are pre-dinner snacks, henna tattoo opportunities and live dance shows. The buffet barbecue dinner (couscous, fresh salads, lamb roasted below ground, grilled prawns, chicken and apricot stews) is one of the best we’ve had on a desert safari.

Overnight Desert Safari and Hot Air Balloon flight by Platinum Heritage Arrow
Luxury safaris don’t get much better than this, and the hotel pick up in an open-top vintage Land Rover’s your first clue. As you leave the city behind and head for the desert, guides regale guests with tales of Dubai’s history, as well as a run-through of local customs and traditions. Once you reach the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, the tour turns safari, African-style. The camels that take you back to your Arabic tent in the evening are an extra special touch, and the early morning hot air balloon flight is a magical experience.
Dune Riders (Adventure Unlimited) by Dream Explorer Dubai Arrow
Adventurous travelers make up this tour’s tribe. Once you get to the desert, there’s a swift safety briefing and then you’re off: dipping and diving over sunburnt sand dunes, some of which lie at a stomach-dropping 90 degree angle. The trip happens in convoy, so there’s no need to worry about ending up lost in the middle of the desert. An hour of sand boarding adds extra thrills.
Quad Bikes Safari by Red Dunes Desert Safari Arrow
There’s nothing quite like charging over dunes and across the desert on your very own quad bike. Everyone is picked up at the hotel, and driven 30 minutes to the quad biking spot in the desert. While this certainly isn’t the most luxurious, or in-depth desert safari, it’s ideal for anyone who wants to experience local Arabic culture and have a bit of adventure on a short time frame.
Caitlin Morton
Preeti Shivani
Connor Sturges
Ashley M. Biggers
Hummer H2 Safari by Sand Trax Dubai Desert Safaris Arrow
This four-hour tour begins with a hotel pick up in a huge white Hummer, which will whisk you out to the desert. Drivers are super organized and run you through the itinerary: thrilling dune drive, photos at sunset, a barbecue dinner, belly dancing, a dizzyingly good whirling dervish, shisha, and Arabic coffee so strong your spoon stands upright in it. Most people do desert safaris in a Land Cruiser, so the experience in a Hummer is completely different, and novel.

Desert Safari by Arabian Nights Tours Arrow
The adrenaline charge that bumping over the steep sand dunes gives you is amazing, but it’s the post-drive camp time that really stands out. Rather than the usual all-you-can-eat buffet and barbecue, this camp offers shawarma – a typical Arabic dish of ground meat, falafel or chicken with vegetables and fries, served in a wrap. There are opportunities to get henna tattoos or watch a belly-dancing show, or just spend time with friends at the table, before being driven back to your hotel.
Morning Desert Safari with Sand Boarding by Arabian Expedition Arrow
If you get to bed early, a desert safari in the morning is rather special – and this one with Arabian Expedition is one of the best. The drive over Dubai’s undulating dunes is fun, with experienced drivers navigating some hair-raisingly steep drops. Once you've caught your breath there’s sand boarding, with a guide showing you to how whizz down the slopes.
Desert Safari by Adventure Leisure Tourism Arrow
Adventure Leisure Tourism offers plenty of safaris, but their straight up desert safari is by far their best—and the range of activities included is far more eclectic than most. This activity-led tour will take guests dune bashing, on a camel ride, and through a whirlwind of cultural experiences, with a variety of shows you won't see elsewhere. For an extra fee, guests can add quad biking to the mix.

Flying Carpet with Dinner for Two Safari by Orient Tours Arrow
This romantic tour runs on request for parties of two. Things kick off with a dune drive in one of their luxury Jeeps, before you’re taken to a very impressive lump of sand for a sand-boarding lesson. A local camel farm follows, and finally a well-deserved private barbecue dinner at a desert camp, with performances. The pre-dinner falcon show is great, but it’s the whirling dervish performance that really captured our imagination.
Sunrise in the Desert Safari by Tribal Trail Tourism Arrow
Anyone wanting a personalized tour will love Tribal Trails’ early morning take on the desert safari. This tour is popular with families and older travellers who rise early, but are still up for an adventure, and the option to request a private car is part of the appeal. Drivers are attentive and kind, and safety conscious: a boon when navigating the rollercoaster-like dunes, and when strapping guests into sandboards.

Premium Sundowner Dune Dinner Safari by Arabian Adventures Arrow
A desert safari is one of the best things to do in Dubai, and this is the crème de la crème. Jump in the Land Rover and make for the desert, where you’ll get to experience a sunset dune drive in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (knowing a portion of your ticket goes to conservation). A glass of bubbly calms any post-dune-bashing nerves, as does kicking back on Arabian-style blankets with a shisha pipe. Of course, don’t forget to enjoy the dinner: an Arabic-style buffet and barbecue that are well worth writing home about.
Exclusive Morning Safari by Funtours Arrow
A cheerful morning pick up sets the tone for this family-friendly tour. Guides are smiley and informed – and they’re great drivers, too. There’s a definite game plan, with exactly 20 minutes of dune driving, followed by a camel ride and a short but sweet sand boarding session. Ideal for anyone with a short window to experience Dubai’s desert, this tour checks all the boxes.

Evening Red-Dunes Desert Safari Dubai by OceanAir Travels Arrow
This full-day desert safari packs adventure in, making it possible to experience the best of the desert in just a day. The dune bashing is great, but it’s the sand surfing that’s the real highlight. Guides show you how to soar down the dunes, before everyone piles back into the Land Cruiser and heads to the desert campsite. Anyone with leftover energy can head to the camel rides, but there’s henna painting and shisha pipes waiting on the colorful Arabian carpets, too.

I am trying to find the difference between the two. Tried googling it, but couldnt find it or my search terms are not right :)
Thanks in advance.

I’m unsure if you’re referring to a company called Red Dunes Desert Safari or actually going to a red dune on a desert Safari.
I know little about Red Dunes Desert Safari. Sean R is your Man re safaris and locations etc.
Personally I’m a fan of Platinum Heritage but if you want dune bashing then specifically then Arabian Adventures are pretty popular.
I don’t think you’ll necessarily get a better experience at a red dune.

Is there any chance you could link the content that's put 'red dunes' in your mind? I'm unsure if you mean a company or a geographical feature.
Going out on a limb and assuming it's a brand name of a DMCC or provider, my advice would always be with desert safaris to know exactly what you want (to shortlist the right provider/package) and then think about what would govern your decision (ie your buying need - do you want the cheapest, the best service levels, the best reputation or the one that may be available on a value deal like Entertainer Two for One).

Which is The Best Desert Safari? Abu Dhabi Vs Dubai?

Written By Arabiers Digital & Reviewed by Gerard Micheal
March 13, 2023 | 13 min read
This article will look at desert experiences in Abu Dhabi and Dubai to better understand the best.
Tourists will have a great time if they go on a desert safari in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. However, although the Dubai and Abu Dhabi desert tours look very similar, there are some differences between the two.
Table of Contents
Dubai desert safari, abu dhabi desert safari.

The Dubai Desert Safari is considered the city's most popular tourist destination. It is the best way to understand what it is like to live in the desert. The Arabs initially called the desert their home long before they moved into the big city where they live now.
As a direct consequence, it plays a crucial part in the culture and customs of Dubai. The duration of your best Desert Safari in Dubai will change according to the type of safari you choose to experience.
Desert safari commences at approximately 4:30 or 4:30:30 in the afternoon, and you can participate in various exciting activities until approximately 10:30 or 11:00 at night.
Best Season to Visit Dubai Desert and Duration
The weather in Dubai can be described with only one word: hot. Those living in regions with cooler winters should save their trip to Dubai for November through March when the city is experiencing winter.
It is a well-known fact that most tourists quickly fall in love with the winter weather in Dubai. The city of Dubai is also endowed with silvery beaches and golden sunshine, both of which contribute to the city's breezy and windy nights.
It doesn't matter if you go to Dubai in the summer or winter; you must remember to avoid heat stroke and sunburn.
Language Barrier
Arabic is the official language in Dubai, but English is widely spoken and understood in the city. Thus you can expect a linguistic barrier, especially if English is your first language, but it is not always the case.
Nevertheless, it is essential to speak slowly and clearly to avoid misunderstandings.
Accommodation
There is a wide selection of hotels and other accommodations in Dubai. If you want to save time and money on your trip, you should book a place to stay in advance.
Shopping in Dubai
Dubai has several shopping malls and complexes in addition to the traditional souks where tourists can shop.
The Dubai Mall, considered one of the biggest shopping malls in the world, has many high-end and mid-range stores and a huge number of luxury fashion labels. "Tax-Free Shopping" is one of the best things for shoppers that Dubai has to offer.

Abu Dhabi, the largest Emirates and UAE capital city, is among the Emirates where tourists flock. Desert Safari is the top activity that attracts tourists to Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi desert safari offers dune-bashing rides with high excitement to more eco-friendly wildlife and historical safaris.
Best Season to Visit the Abu Dhabi Desert and the Duration
Several options are open to you, so you can decide whether to spend the night in the desert or just a few hours there.
Even though afternoon safaris typically depart after the hottest part of the day, morning safaris emphasize the desert more than entertainment.
It is highly recommended that you stay the night in the desert if your itinerary allows for it since then you will be able to witness the desert in all its splendour during both sunset and sunrise.
Additionally, because most desert animals are most active at night and during twilight hours, this raises the likelihood that you will observe wild animals.
Even though Arabic is the predominant language spoken In Abu Dhabi, many people in Abu Dhabi also speak English.
Therefore, you will find it easy to communicate with people you meet in Abu Dhabi. During the safari, you will be guided by an English-speaking tour guide.
There is no limitation on places to stay in Abu Dhabi, from 5-star hotels to budget hotels. You can also stay in one of the traditional Emirati villas at the Arabian Nights Village.
Shopping in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is filled with opulent shopping malls, quaint little boutiques, and bustling open-air markets that offer everything from tiny holiday keychains to valuable Persian rugs.
Visitors worldwide to Abu Dhabi to shop in some of the world's biggest shopping malls.
Abu Dhabi and Dubai desert safaris offer similar things, such as camel rides, barbecues, entertainment, and sandboarding.
There could be small changes, like the price, the addition of some exciting activities, changes to the menu, etc.
When planning the best desert safari, consider what you want from the trip and what parts are most interesting.
Do your research, and use that information to make a sound choice. Nonetheless, if there is a desert safari in the city you are staying in or visiting, it would be convenient for you to choose it.

15 Best Dubai Desert Safaris

A trip to Dubai is not complete without a desert safari. I still remember the very first desert safari I went on: it was absolutely incredible! There were camels, good food, shisha and of course dune bashing! Because I love desert safaris so much, I have put together a list of the best desert safaris in Dubai.
One thing I would honestly say is that it really will make a difference when you book your desert safari online. Sure: your hotel will probably have a concierge service or a travel agent they work with that will be able to book the desert safari for you – but the few times I enquired (I was curious as to how much it would cost!) the prices they quoted were an absolute rip off! One of them shoved a flyer under my nose for a $90 desert safari – while we went on THAT EXACT SAME ONE just a month earlier for $40 . I would recommend booking your desert safari online because it can save you a lot of money !

Travel With New Pulse Of Dream
Dubai Desert Safari vs. Dubai City Tour: Which Should You Choose?

If you’re planning a trip to Dubai, you might wonder which tour to choose: a desert safari or a city tour. Both offer unique experiences, and the choice ultimately depends on your preferences.
A trip to Dubai’s desert takes you on a thrilling ride through the sandy hills of the Arabian Desert. You can enjoy activities like riding camels, driving through the sand dunes, and watching the beautiful sunset. On the other hand, a city tour takes you on a guided tour of Dubai’s iconic landmarks, such as the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, and the Dubai Fountain.
In this blog post, we’ll compare the desert safari and city tour experiences in Dubai. We will check out the complete difference between these two trips. We’ll help you weigh the pros and cons of each tour, so you can make an informed decision and choose the experience that suits you best.
Choosing Between a Dubai Desert Safari and a City Tour
If you’re visiting Dubai for the first time, you may be overwhelmed by the many tour options available. The most popular tours are the Dubai Desert Safari and the Dubai City Tour. Both offer unique experiences, but deciding which one to choose can be difficult.
The desert safari offers a thrilling adventure through the sand dunes, while the city tour offers a chance to explore Dubai’s iconic landmarks. To help you decide, we’ll compare each tour’s experiences, transportation, timing, budget, crowds, and weather.
What is a Dubai Desert Safari?
A Dubai Desert Safari is a tour that provides you with a completely exciting and unique journey through the Arabian Desert. You’ll be picked up from your hotel in a sturdy 4-wheel-drive vehicle and driven to the desert.
You can try dune bashing there, which is a fun and bumpy ride through the sand dunes. You’ll also have the chance to ride a camel, experience a traditional Bedouin camp, and watch a stunning desert sunset. Various packages are available, including morning, afternoon, and evening tours.
What is a Dubai City Tour?
A Dubai City Tour is a tour with a guide to show you the best parts of the city, including famous landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Palm Jumeirah, and the Dubai Fountain. The tour starts with a pick-up from your hotel, and you’ll have the chance to take photos and learn about Dubai’s history and culture. Most city tours are conducted in a comfortable bus or coach and are available in the morning or afternoon.
Experience: Adventure vs. Culture
The experience of a Dubai Desert Safari is all about adventure and adrenaline. You’ll feel the thrill of dune bashing and camel riding and experience the quiet solitude of the desert. The Bedouin camp offers a chance to experience traditional food, music, and entertainment.
On the other hand, a Dubai City Tour is all about culture and sightseeing. You can see the famous landmarks in the city and learn about Dubai’s history and culture. It’s a great way to see the city if you’re short on time or want a more relaxed experience.
Transportation: 4×4 or Bus?
The transportation for a Dubai Desert Safari is usually a 4×4 vehicle, perfect for navigating the sand dunes. It’s a thrilling ride that adds to the adventure of the tour. On the other hand, a Dubai City Tour is usually conducted in a comfortable bus or coach. This is a more relaxed way to see the city, but you won’t have the same adrenaline rush as with a 4×4 vehicle.
Timing: Morning, Afternoon, or Evening?
You can take either morning, afternoon, or evening tours, depending on what works best for you. The time you select depends on your personal preference and schedule. Morning tours are perfect for those who want to beat the heat and have the rest of the day to explore.
Afternoon tours are great for those who want to sleep in and have a more relaxed morning. Evening tours are perfect for watching the sunset in the desert or experiencing the Dubai Fountain at night.
Budget: How Much Do They Cost?
The price of a Dubai Desert Safari or City Tour can be different based on the type of tour you choose and the tour company you book with. Generally, a desert safari is more expensive than a city tour due to the cost of the 4×4 vehicle and the activities included. However, there are budget options available for both tours.
Crowds: Busy or Quiet?
The crowds on a Dubai Desert Safari are usually smaller than on a Dubai City Tour. This is because the desert is a vast, open space, and the number of tourists that can be accommodated in a single area is limited.

The Bedouin camp is usually peaceful and quiet because it’s far from the busy city. However, a Dubai City Tour can be crowded, particularly when there are many tourists visiting the city at the same time. However, most tour companies try to limit the number of people on their tours to ensure a good experience for everyone.
Weather: Hot or Mild?
The weather for a Dubai Desert Safari is usually hot and dry, especially during the summer months. Staying cool in the desert can be challenging, so wearing light, comfortable clothing and bringing plenty of water is essential. The temperature for a Dubai City Tour is usually nice, around 20-30 degrees Celsius (68-86 degrees Fahrenheit). It’s important to check the weather before your tour and dress suitably.

Conclusion:
Ultimately, choosing a Dubai Desert Safari and a City Tour depends on your preferences. The desert safari is the way to go if you’re looking for an adventure and adrenaline rush. However, the city tour is better if you’re more interested in culture and sightseeing.
Consider factors such as transportation, timing, budget, crowds, and weather before deciding. Regardless of which tour you choose, both offer unique experiences that will leave you unforgettable memories of Dubai.

One of the world's largest shopping malls, the Dubai Mall, houses high-end and mid-range retail stores in addition to an unlimited selection of luxury fashion labels. "Tax-Free Shopping" is one of Dubai's best features for shoppers listed on Shortlist Dubai .
Do you have plans to visit Abu Dhabi for a Desert Safari?
A desert safari is the best way to explore the desert, and no vacation to Abu Dhabi is complete without visiting the desert.
A desert safari gives you the option to leave the city and go into the UAE's real interior, from high-adrenaline, thrill-seeking dune-bashing rides to more environmentally friendly wildlife and history safaris.
There are several choices available, so you may choose to stay overnight or simply a few hours in the desert. While morning safaris focus a larger emphasis on the desert itself than on entertainment, afternoon safaris often leave after the heat of the day has passed.
An overnight stay is strongly advised if you have the time in your plan since you will get to experience the desert in all of its beauty at sunset and sunrise. It also increases your possibility of seeing wildlife since desert animals are more active at night and in the twilight hours.
Although Arabic is commonly spoken in Abu Dhabi, as was previously noted, those who reside and run a business there can also comprehend English. Since the tourist industry is growing rapidly, language is no longer a barrier for most people.
Arabian Nights Village, where you may stay in a variety of traditionally constructed Emirati villas, is one of our favorite camping destinations. When you get there, you may choose to rent a dune buggy for an extra cost, try sandboarding, take a brief camel ride, have henna painted, or wander the sands.
Abu Dhabi Shopping
Travelers from over the world are making their way to Abu Dhabi to explore the shops and engage in some biggest shopping. The capital city of the UAE is home to luxurious malls, adorable boutiques, and vibrant marketplaces that sell everything from adorable holiday keychains to priceless Persian rugs.
The truth is that both desert safaris provide similar services, such as camel rides, BBQ dinners, entertainment programs, and sand boarding. There could be a few minor variations, such as price, the removal or addition of some daring activities, menu modifications, etc. The ideal desert safari would be one that meets both your expectations and your areas of interest. Therefore, conduct your homework and make wise decisions. However, it would be more convenient to select a desert safari in the city you are visiting or staying in.

Desert Safari Tips
Whichever type of desert safari you choose for yourself, there are certain things that you should follow to have a great time. Here are some helpful desert safari tips that would make your trip hassle-free:
- The best time to go for desert safari is the winter season. Afternoons are pleasant while mornings and evenings are cool. If you are planning to go in the summer season, opt for evening desert safari, as the temperature in the desert is a little cooler, after sunset.
- Wear loose, comfortable cotton clothes while going on a desert safari. Sunglasses and hat are necessary accessories to protect yourself from heat, even for evening desert safari. Also, do not forget to carry a jacket or shawl, as you may find the nights chillier.
- When it comes to footwear, opt for open shoes or sandals. Do not wear closed shoes as there are chances of sand slipping inside, and later cleaning the shoes could be difficult. However, with open sandals or shoes, you can easily get the sand off them.
- You may have paid for the entire tour beforehand. However, it would be better to carry some cash with you, if you want to take part in some extra activities or buy some souvenirs or gifts at the camp.
- It is obligatory to listen to the instructors carefully before trying any of the adventurous activities, as it diminishes the chances of any kind of accidents or mishaps.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai are very close in their respective regions of the United Arab Emirates on the Arabian Peninsula. Due to their proximity, geographical characteristics, and features, they have a similar climate characterized by extreme temperatures, particularly during the summer, with very little rain. This is called a “hot desert” or “hyper-arid” climate.
Temperature Comparison
Similar climate patterns characterize both cities; there could be slight variations in temperature due to their unique geographic locations. Abu Dhabi is farther south and farther from the Equator than Dubai. This may lead to some degree of warmer temperatures; however, the difference is generally insignificant.
In the summer months (June through September), the average temperature in both cities could easily reach 40 °C (104 °F), while nights are extremely warm. The winter seasons (December through February) are cooler and more comfortable, with typical temperatures of between 20 and 30 Celsius (mid-70s Fahrenheit).
Microclimate Variations
Variations in microclimates can affect the perception of temperature in various parts of a city. For instance, areas close to the coast may be slightly cooler because of sea air temperatures than inland regions.
