My favourite aspect of Sports Team is their incredible stage presence that encapsulates the audience and makes them have to nod along and smile. The mixture of the witty and awesome lyrics and lead singer, Alex Rice’s charimsa and charm create and friendly and inclusive community among the audience. Energy never burns out at a sports team concert. In addition Rough Trade Bristol is a trendy and respected venue that allows for intimate performances. All in all, it rocked!

Sports Team was insane! They are one of the best U.K. bands right now. They are headed to Europe but if you ever get an opportunity, see them live!
The opener, Ganser, is now one of my new all time favorites. See this band!
Fantastic band with a great live sound full of energy . Front man Alex is worth a watch as he’s quite unique. Tight band on top form who looked like they was enjoying themselves. Lovely little venue with a good sound .
Superb. Alex Rice is God-with-a-bruised-chest. The energy level is superb. The mix was poor in terms of the vocals, which is a pity as the lyrics are to be savoured. But everybody knew them anyway. Leadmill next please.
BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!! But the owners and the security guards at the venue were absolute arseholes really! They were very rude but the bands were amazing!! Cool venue also

‘Gulp!’ is out August 12 via Island UK.
Published on
Breakthrough British band, Sports Team , will release their highly anticipated new album, Gulp! , on August 12 via Island UK/Bright Antenna.
Gulp! follows Sports Team’s 2020 Mercury Prize-nominated debut album Deep Down Happy , which charted at No.2 on the UK’s Official Charts, achieving the biggest vinyl sales for a debut British artist that year.
The first single off Gulp! , “R Entertainment,” was released last month as a BBC Radio 1 Hottest Record in the World. Signposting a bold and ambitious new era for the band, Sports Team explain that “R Entertainment” explores, “The packaging down of all human experience into entertainment, prompted by the infinite scroll through social feeds and the manic formlessness of the images we are hit with every day. Graphic news interrupted by ads for season 17 of The Bodyguard , news as a rubbernecking, passively waiting for the next drop of horror as we flick through recipes.”
Don’t Drink The Water: How The Environmental Movement Shaped Music

Following a sold-out UK tour with the Wombats, Sports Team have confirmed their first U.S. festival appearance at Shaky Knees Festival on April 29 and a warmup show at Niagara in New York City on May 4. The band have also added European dates and festivals throughout the summer, with further stateside headline tour dates to be announced soon.
Sports Team is Alex Rice (lead vocals), Rob Knaggs (rhythm guitar, vocals), Henry Young (lead guitar), Oli Dewdney (bass), Al Greenwood (drums) and Ben Mack (keyboard, percussion). Formed in 2016, the band shared their debut album Deep Down Happy in June 2020 to widespread critical acclaim.
Rolling Stone hailed, “The crisp, jagged tunes on their debut LP, Deep Down Happy , recall Franz Ferdinand or the early Arctic Monkeys; their weird-angled guitars can evoke Pavement or Silkworm; their clever critiques of British life recall Pulp and the Kinks; and singer Alex Rice’s ranting style has shades of Art Brut’s Eddie Argos and Mark E. Smith of the Fall. It’s all conjured with a buoyant sense of good-natured humor, so they sound like they’re having fun even when they’re pissed off. The album bounces by with the logic of a free-for-all pub debate.”

Sports Team postpone US tour as they delay second album ‘Gulp!’
The record was originally meant to be released earlier this month
Sports Team have postponed their US tour as they delay the release of second album ‘ Gulp! ’.
- READ MORE: Sports Team live in London: connection amid the confetti cannons
The record was originally scheduled for release July 22 before being pushed back to August 26 due to “production issues”.
It’s now been confirmed that the follow-up to ‘ Deep Down Happy ‘ will be released September 23, with both their upcoming US headline tour and a string of record store appearances also postponed.
Taking to Instagram , Sports Team wrote: “Hey pals, bit of chaos for you. Album is moving to 23rd September.. So…that means the in-store dates are gonna move. Venues will get in touch about the new dates or refunds if you can’t make them. US tour is going to move too, probably to 2023. A long way from ideal but sadly there’s not much we can do about it with vinyl delays. Can’t wait for you to hear these tracks, sorry to anyone that’s had to change plans, stick with it.”

Sports Team were set to play a string of UK record shows in August, before heading to North America in September. Rescheduled dates are yet to be announced. Their upcoming UK and European headline tour remains unaffected though.
‘Gulp!’ was announced back in March and so far, Sports Team have released three tracks from the record – ‘ R Entertainment ’, ‘ The Game ’ and ‘ Cool It Kid ’. The band are set to release new single ‘The Drop’ on Wednesday (August 3) with vocalist Alex Rice describing it as “one of our best”.

Talking to NME about what the band want to achieve with ‘Gulp!’ , Rice said: “Just big live shows. I feel like COVID really knocked back live music, and it’s the most important thing in the world; it sounds cliche to say it, but live music is where people draw their community from. It is really important that people can go out to shows: it’s about trying not to make it too expensive so that young people can afford [tickets]. I don’t care about chart positions, radio play or what some journalist at The Times says about us. I just want to see people in a room.”
It comes after Sports Team told NME that their second album ”sounds joyful.”

Zurich classic format and full field for the pga tour’s team event.
- Golf Channel Staff ,
- Golf Channel Staff
The PGA Tour competes in its lone, official team event at this week’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Here’s how the tournament at TPC Louisiana works and who is competing.
Field size?
The are 160 players comprising 80 two-man teams.
How are the teams determined?
The Tour goes down its priority rankings. Players who commit to the tournament get to choose their partner as long as they have some kind of PGA Tour status or receive a sponsor exemption.
What is the format?
The teams will compete in fourballs (best ball) in Rounds 1 and 3, and in foursomes (alternate shot) in Rounds 2 and 4.
Is there a cut?
Yes. The top 33 teams and ties after 36 holes will qualify for the final two rounds.
What happens if there is a playoff after 72 holes?
The teams will compete in sudden-death, alternating formats (foursomes on the first extra hole; fourballs on the second extra hole; so forth).
What do the winners receive?
Both men will get a two-year exemption on Tour and spots in the PGA Championship and signature events, as well as next year’s Sentry and Players Championship. It counts as an official Tour win for both players, though, no Official World Golf Ranking points are given.
Players will be paid out in an every-two-spots manner. So the winning team will evenly split first- and second-place earnings ($1,286,050 for each player) and first- and second-place FedExCup points (400 for each winner).

History of AIST
AIST SELECT TEAMS (INDIVIDUAL TOURS) Incorporated in 2001, American International Sports Tours (AIST) was born out of the vision of Chad Wilkinson and Gary Haarmann. Recognizing the demand for an honest, loyal, and reliable international sports tour provider, they aimed to open up the world of sports to others. In the early days of AIST, communication relied on phone calls and traditional mail invitations to handpicked players. Today, we have harnessed the power of social media, online statistics, and other recruiting resources to locate the finest athletes for our select teams. We conduct nationwide tryouts, some of which are graced by professional athletes, and offer online tryouts for those unable to attend in person. Our relentless search spans the entire country to find exceptional athletes who will proudly represent the USA in international competitions. We actively encourage friends and family to partake in these remarkable experiences alongside the athletes. Each year, we take immense pride in assembling high-quality teams, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all who seize this extraordinary opportunity. TEAM AND GROUP TRAVEL Beyond our individual tours, AIST also specializes in tailored group or team travel opportunities. Embarking on an international journey with your team fosters unity and creates lifelong memories. Teams are presented with the chance to compete against formidable opponents, experiencing their sport on a global scale. Often, the host teams enjoy socializing post-game, allowing your team to immerse themselves in the local culture and connect with residents. Opting for a sports tour not only grants your team more time on the field or court but also offers the chance to delve into other cultures while exploring some of the world's most breathtaking destinations. The unique fusion of sports and travel creates an incredible experience that transcends that of a typical tourist. Sports provide the opportunity to engage and connect with like-minded individuals from diverse cultures—a fantastic way to witness your team's growth and foster deep bonds. We spare no effort in ensuring a professional experience, delivering top-tier service, and upholding the highest standards of quality throughout our tours. Established in the year of 2001, AIST has built a reliable network of partnerships around the world to bring you the best value and services for international sports travel. AIST has undergone a remarkable journey of growth and expertise development over the past two decades. We have dedicated ourselves to perfecting the art of providing exceptional international sport tour experiences. Through our extensive knowledge and extensive network of contacts worldwide, we possess the ability to support teams at all levels of play, ranging from professional clubs and NCAA Div I to youth divisions. Immersed in Italian Culture
Kia mcneill, head coach - brown university women's soccer.
“Our international trip with AIST to Italy was a trip of a lifetime, and will be a lasting memory for all of us for years to come. We were able to truly immerse ourselves in Italian culture by touring a wide range of cities and getting a first-hand experience of the history, beauty, and culinary excellence Italy has to offer. In addition to that, we were also able to play two professional teams, one of which plays in Serie A, the top professional league in Italy. I know this was a bonding experience that none of us will forget or take for granted. As a coach, that is the most rewarding part for me.”

Excellent Experience
Aram chahbazian, softball parent.
We had an excellent experience. It was very organized and well-planned with a great balance of planned/guided touring, free time and sports time. I was struck by the way AIST was able to seamlessly balance three different sports all traveling on the same bus, but with different play schedules and locations. Well done!
David Hixon
Head men's basketball coach amherst college.
Our trip was awesome - a 10! Our local guides and bus driver were just fabulous! We scheduled a lot of sightseeing, practice, and games on a 10-day tour, it all happened and all went well. Everything was great from the organization, food, transportation, and accommodation. It was truly a top-notch experience!

2024 Zurich Classic live stream, TV schedule, how to watch online, channel, tee times, radio, golf coverage
Grab a partner for this team-style event on the pga tour.
For the seventh straight year, players will travel down to the Bayou to take part in the PGA Tour's annual team-style event. The 2024 Zurich Classic welcomes 80 teams of two as partners hope to grab a trophy by week's end at TPC Louisiana.
Headlining the action are the two players who seemingly do everything together: Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay. The good friends were victorious in their first go around in 2022 but failed to defend their title a season ago in large part due to their play in four-ball; Schauffele and Cantlay were more effective in foursomes in Rounds 2 and 4 than they were in the four-ball format in Rounds 1 and 3.
They will hope to rectify this shortcoming in their third appearance together against a number of new pairings making their debuts. They include world No. 2 Rory McIlroy, who will be making his first tournament appearance alongside Shane Lowry. The two have shared Ryder Cup moments together and will now share their first Zurich Classic starts together hoping to find a little form in this format.
The two could prove to be Schauffele and Cantlay's greatest competition, but they will not be alone. Will Zalatoris and Sahith Theegala are a strong duo on paper, as are Collin Morikawa and Kurt Kitayama. Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor hope to do one better than their runner-up performance in 2023, with Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith also starring as an all-Canadian team.
The brothers of Alex and Matt Fitzpatrick team up for the second straight year, with Rasmus and Nicolai Hojgaard and Parker and Pierceson Coody also making this week a family affair.

- The Trojans come into play this weekend having won 10 of their last 14 and 13 of their last 19. Since starting the season 3-11, the Trojans have gone 15-8.
- USC is 10-7 in Pac-12 play and a just 1.5 games out of first place.
- The Austin Overn triple machine keeps rolling as he has five triples this season, good for the most in the Pac-12 and fifth most in the country. Overn set USC's single season triples as a freshman last year with 14, and is now just one away from tying the program's career record at 20.
- Overn also has 41 runs scored on the season, good for 2nd in the Pac-12. His 12 stolen bases are 3rd most in the Pac-12.
- Jacob Galloway has been leading the Trojans at the plate all season, hitting .331 on the year with a team-high 29 RBI. Galloway also leads the team with a .969 OPS. He owns 9 Multi-hit games, 7 multi-RBI games and had a 22 game hitting streak earlier this year, all good for team highs. Galloway has reached base in 36 of 37 games so far this season.
- Since being inserted into the starting lineup at Stanford, Brayden Dowd has been on a tear at the plate. He now owns USC's second-best batting average hitting .300, and in 23 games he has 8 RBI and 13 runs scored. Dowd was the hero in the opener against Oregon State, hitting a walk off single in the bottom of the ninth.
- Caden Aoki has now put together three straight stellar starts following the worst start of his career four weeks ago against Arizona (2.2 IP, 9 ER). He had his best start of the season in a 5-2 win at Stanford, tossing 6.0 innings and giving up just one run on four hits and then matched that performance last week against Oregon State. After giving up a run in the second inning, Aoki allowed only one runner past first base the rest of his outing. He followed that up with 6.0 IP, 5H, ER, 2BB, 4K against UCLA. Aoki was through six scoreless innings before giving up a solo-homer in the seventh against Oregon State. He also had a career-high 8 strikeouts against the Beavers. Over his last three starts, Aoki has lowered his ERA by over 2 full runs.
- Xavier Martinez leads USC with 19 pitching appearances this year, good for 2nd in the Pac-12 and 23rd in the country.
- Trojan closer Josh Blum has struck out 28 batters in just 17.1 innings pitched this year, holding opponents to a .153 batting average. He has struck out 41% of the batters he has faced (28-of-68), and his 4 saves are good for fifth in the Pac-12.
- USC is 5th in the Pac-12 with 34 stolen bases this year.
- USC owns a .975 fielding percentage, 2nd best in the Pac-12.

Zurich Classic Betting Preview: Odds, Prediction, Long Shot Bet, Team to Fade and Outright Winner Pick
- Author: Brian Giuffra
In this story:
The only PGA Tour team event of the season (think laidback Ryder Cup vibes) is here and it’s chock-full of powerhouse tandems to consider betting on.
Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry, Xander Schauffle and Patrick Cantlay, Will Zalatoris and Sahith Theegala headline the field this week, but we're not betting on them, choosing instead to focus on a team of brothers.
Before betting, it’s important to remember this is a unique format. There are two days of fourball, known as best-ball, played in Rounds 1 and 3 and two rounds of foursomes, known as alternate shots, in Rounds 2 and 4.
Last year’s winning team of Davis Riley and Nick Hardy shot 30 under for the week, so we must pick duos who can go low in each format.
Who are they? Let’s break it down starting with the Top 10 teams in odds, which come from DraftKings Sportsbook, followed by our longshot pick, the team to fade and outright winner.
Zurich Classic Odds
Patrick Cantlay / Xander Schauffele +400
Rory McIlroy / Shane Lowry +700
Will Zalatoris / Sahith Theegala +800
Collin Morikawa / Kurt Kitayama +1200
Rasmus Højgaard / Nicolai Højgaard +2200
Tom Hoge / Maverick McNealy +2500
Matt Fitzpatrick / Alex Fitzpatrick +2500
Taylor Pendrith / Corey Conners +2800
Nick Taylor / Adam Hadwin +3000
Sepp Straka / Brice Garnett +4000
Keith Mitchell / Joel Dahmen +4000
Doug Ghim / Chan Kim +4000
Billy Horschel / Tyson Alexander +4000
Zurich Classic Long Shot Pick: Billy Horschel / Tyson Alexander +4000
There’s no shortage of star power atop the leaderboard, but a team capable of competing this week that’s flying under the radar is Billy Horschel and Tyson Alexander at +4000 odds.
Horschel just won the Puntacana Championship with a 23-under total highlighted by a 63 on Sunday. He’s always been a streaky player and I’m counting on his hot streak continuing at an event he’s had success at before.
Horschel won this event when it was played as an individual tournament and won it another time as a team. He’s placed second twice and tied for fourth once here. Last year, he placed 11th with Sam Burns.
Alexander is not as well known and doesn’t have as strong of a history at the Zurich, but he’s off to a good start this season (has made three straight cuts) and had his best start of the season three weeks ago at the Texas Open. He's also 49th on tour in shots-gained: putting, an important stat this week, especially in alternate shot.
Winning back-to-back events is tough, but Horschel’s hot and he wouldn’t have picked Alexander as his teammate in an event he has a history of success at if he didn’t think they could win.
Zurich Classic Team to Fade: Rasmus Højgaard / Nicolai Højgaard +2200
Nicolai Højgaard was leading the Masters outright Saturday afternoon before a disastrous back nine 40 ended his chances of winning. He followed that up with a 4-over 76 on Sunday and just missed the cut at the Puntacana Championship.
Overall, he’s missed three cuts in his last five events and was T-75 in another with a +5 total score. His run at Augusta seems more an apparition when taking a macro view of his recent form.
Nicolai is playing with his twin brother, Rasmus, who withdrew from the Indian Open after an opening-round 79. Rasmus does have three Top 10s on the DP World Tour this season, but the most recent one came in February.
Recent results suggest both brother’s forms are regressing heading into this one. While being together could lighten the mood and improve their play, the +2200 odds are not good enough to warrant a bet.
Zurich Classic Pick to Win: Matt Fitzpatrick / Alex Fitzpatrick +2500
After fading one brother duo, why not back another, huh?
Matt Fitzpatrick is ranked ninth in total driving on the PGA Tour, 26th in total putting, 15th in birdie average per round and 11th in birdie percentage on Par 5s. He finished fifth at the Players and 10th at the Texas Open, was in contention at the Masters early and just shot four rounds under par at the RBC Heritage.
Alex finished T23 at the Corales last week with four rounds under par including a Sunday 67. He missed the cut at the Indian Open at the end of March, but has been steady on the DP World Tour this season, with six Top 20s in nine events. Like his brother, Alex is a solid driver and strong putter.
Last year, the Fitzpatricks finished T-19 at the Zurich, with two rounds of 62 during fourball and rounds of 71 and 74 in alternate shot. If they can make up some strokes in the latter format, they’ll be in contention this week, because both make a ton of birdies off their own ball.

San Francisco Giants
San francisco giants | introducing mitch white, the latest local to fulfill his dreams with sf giants, the giants’ newest reliever grew up rooting for the 2010-14 championship teams and called matt cain his favorite player.
SAN FRANCISCO — When he was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays last week, Mitch White packed up his things, headed west and tried to manifest destiny.
“It couldn’t have worked out better,” the 29-year-old right-hander said Tuesday afternoon from his new locker in the Giants’ clubhouse.
Sitting at home in San Diego, White received a call from assistant general manager Jeremy Shelley, who informed him that the Giants had worked out a trade with Toronto. San Francisco sent cash considerations, and the San Jose-born pitcher would get the chance to suit up for the team he grew up rooting for.
Taking the place of rookie Landen Roupp, who was optioned to Triple-A, White brings experience and the ability to pitch multiple innings to the Giants’ bullpen.
“Being from San Jose, that was the team,” White said, naming Matt Cain as his favorite player. “Especially those years from ’10 to ’14 were awesome. … Obviously all those guys were sick.”
White made his offseason home in San Francisco before moving south for training purposes, and before his daily commute took him to Oracle Park, White remembers sneaking away from class at Bellarmine Prep and catching the CalTrain into the city to attend the Giants’ three championship parades down Market Street.
White attended Bellarmine from 2009-13, and he was still in the area for the 2014 title, going on to nearby Santa Clara University before the Dodgers selected him 65th overall in the 2016 amateur draft. His high school conquests instantly gave him a conversation topic with hitting coach Pat Burrell, another Bellarmine baseball alumnus.
“He brought it up right way,” White said. “It’s pretty cool, been looking up to him ever since (high school).”
The Dodgers drafted White when Farhan Zaidi was the general manager in Los Angeles, and Giants fans may remember White from his time on the other side of the rivalry, serving as a thorn in the Giants’ side in five appearances — one start — before being dealt to Toronto at the 2022 trade deadline. He limited them to two runs on four hits and struck out five over nine innings, leaving Los Angeles with a 3.58 ERA in the first 38 appearances of his career, including nine starts.
It has been a different story since joining the Blue Jays, where he posted a 7.26 ERA in 24 games (eight starts). He was sidelined with shoulder inflammation and designated for assignment twice, going unclaimed the first time. But his underlying numbers look much better. His 4.09 FIP in Toronto was only a tick higher than the 3.87 mark he posted in Los Angeles.
In four appearances this season, he had a 5.40 ERA and pitched as many as 4⅓ innings of relief on 65 pitches.
“After he throws today, we’ll see where we go with it,” manager Bob Melvin said. “He hasn’t pitched in a little bit here, but typically he can bring us some length. He’s been stretched out before we got here — three or four innings or something like that — so that’s probably the role he’s in right now.”
Roupp, 25, will continue to be stretched out at Triple-A Sacramento, Melvin said, but wouldn’t rule out the young right-hander returning to the major-league bullpen later this season. In 10⅓ innings over eight appearances, Roupp posted a 4.35 ERA and used his two-seamer and curveball to record seven strikeouts.
“Based on the innings he threw last year, it’s prudent to stretch him out some. How much and what his needs for us are going to be are still kind of yet to be determined,” Melvin said. “We went into spring training and (Roupp) was a guy we didn’t even target to potentially make the team. … Next thing you know, he’s thrust into games and ends up making the team. So it was pretty cool to watch. Obviously he’s got great stuff. He’ll be back at some point in time.”
With their moves the past two days, the Giants have replaced two rookies — Roupp and Nick Avila — with a pair of veterans in White and Luke Jackson, who was activated from the injured list before Monday’s game. The group as a whole has been the second-worst in the majors, with a 5.47 ERA.
“I don’t mind having some younger guys, too, and it’s good for them, experience-wise,” Melvin said. “But it’s always nice to have experienced arms in the bullpen. Getting Luke back is big for us. White, as well, he’s got some experience, too.”
