The tickets will become available at 1 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST), In addition to the ticket sales announcement, Bandai Namco Esports also highlighted that registration for the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) is already open.

Amsterdam sets the stage for the grand TEKKEN World Tour Finals on February 2023. 24 players from 16 regions across the globe will fight their way to win the Championship title and their share of the $100,000 prize pool.

Qualifier matches will determine the first 21 players to take their slots in the Global finals. A last chance qualifier between 3rd place winners in North America, Western European Union, and Japan regional matches will take the remaining 3 slots in the finals

Tekken World Tour 2023 event schedule revealed

Bandai Namco has revealed the dates and locations for its Master and Challengers Tekken World Tour 2023 events.

The Tekken World Tour will return once again this year, as the final outing for Tekken 7 before it's replaced by the upcoming Tekken 8. While we already knew that Tekken World Tour 2023 was going to happen, that was about the extent of the details available. Now, Bandai Namco has pulled back the curtain, releasing the schedule for Tekken World Tour 2023.

Bandai Namco shared the schedule for the Tekken World Tour 2023 Master and Challengers events on the event’s website today. Master Events are the Tekken World Tour’s large-scale events, and will take place over the course of the year at various major events. Here are the dates and locations for all of the Tekken World Tour 2023 Master Events:

• Evo Japan 2023: March 31 to April 2 (Tokyo)
• The MIXUP 2023 – Round 5: April 22-23 (Lyon)
• Punishment 2: May 6 (La Paz)
• Combo Breaker: May 26-28 (Chicago)
• Battle Arena Melbourne 13: June 9-11 (Melbourne)
• CEO 2023: June 23-25 (Daytona Beach, Florida)
• FIGHTERS SHOWDOWN 2023: July 22-23 (Delhi)
• Evo 2023 – MASTER+ Event: August 4-6 (Las Vegas)
• VS Fighting XI: August 18-20 (Birmingham, UK)

Bandai Namco describes Challenger Events as “regional tournaments organized by the player community.” Similar to Master Events, Challengers Events will take place throughout the year at various FGC events. Here is where and when Tekken World Tour 2023’s Challenger Events are going down:

• Paradise Game Battle: May 20-21 (Abidjan, Ivory Coast)
• Slash N Dash Emirates Showdown: June 3-4 (Dubai)
• Headstomper 2023: June 9-11 (Malmo, Sweden)

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced the return of the Tekken World Tour (TWT), the fighting game’s international tournament circuit.

Tekken World Tour 2022 now allows players to compete in both offline and online events. The tournament circuit also has a new three-stage format that incorporates regional qualifiers and finals before the culminating event, the TWT Finals .

Here’s everything you need to know about the Tekken World Tour 2022, including its schedule, format, point system, and how you can register as a player and event organizer.

What is the Tekken World Tour?

The Tekken World Tour is a series of international Tekken 7 tournaments, officially sponsored by publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment. The TWT has been an annual competitive circuit since 2017, but briefly transitioned to an online format for 2021 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Format of the 2022 season

Tekken World Tour 2022 began in June with its first stage, Regional Qualifiers. During this period, players can rack up points and rank in their regional leaderboards by participating in Master and Dojo events until late October.

Players with the most points in their region will advance to the second stage, Regional Finals, which takes place from late October to December. This stage will determine 13 regional representatives for the Global Finals, the third stage of TWT 2022.

Bandai Namco confirmed that some regions may not have a Regional Final, in which case the top player in the region will be eligible to participate in the Global Finals.

The Global Finals will be held as an offline event in early 2023.

Point system and event categories

Players can earn points by competing in numerous tournaments during Regional Qualifiers. Their final result in a tournament is then converted into points for the leaderboard.

The regional leaderboard determines a player’s ranking by adding up their best results from one Master event and four Dojo events.

Master events are large-scale offline tournaments that are open to everyone. These events give out the most points on the tour. This year, EVO 2022 will be the sole Master Prime event, a special event category with a larger point system.

Dojo events are community-based, region-locked tournaments with a smaller pool of participants. These tournaments can be played either online or offline.

Bandai Namco has further improved its Dojo tournament system by adding a new Dojo Prime category for events that have more than 100 participants.

Tekken World Tour 2023 Finals Date and Location Revealed

The top Tekken 7 competitors in the world will be gathering in New Orleans in January of 2024 to compete in the Tekken World Tour 2023 Finals. The Last Chance Qualifiers will take place January 12 followed by the Finals itself on January 13-14th.

According to Sr Esports Manager Kasumi Yogi, this location has been on Bandai Namco’s radar for a while now. She added that the team is excited to finally make it a reality, hoping to bring the city’s tagline — Let the good times roll — to the Tekken 7 esports scene.

Said Yogi: “There’s a lot of culture there. I personally have never been. We want to bring the finals to a place where people can travel to and experience the culture there. It’s a very unique place. We’re hoping the people who attend the global event will have a good time.”

Tekken World Tour 2023 Finals to Attract More Regions Than Ever

The Tekken 7 esports team stated that it’s hoping to see a big international turnout at the Finals. There are expected regions, like Pakistan and South Korea, but Yogi is hoping that other regions will also be enticed to attend.

One region that the Tekken team has kept an eye on is Madagascar. Currently, a player in the top 10 of the worldwide rankings is from the unexpected country and Yogi is hoping to see Yondaime and his community come to the Finals. He’s currently qualified for the Finals based on points earned at Dojo Tournaments, which are local tournaments that are registered as part of the Tekken World Tour.

Dojo Tournaments in Madagascar are worth the max amount of points since they have massive turnouts. This means, however, that Yondaime has not yet competed against other regions and Yogi is excited to see how he does once he takes them on in larger events leading up to the Finals.

The Tekken 7 World Tour 2023 Finals is meant to be a celebration of the game’s thriving and growing esports scene. Yogi told Esports Illustrated that many people tell her that Tekken 7 changed their lives. This has been made even more true in recent years since the game has continued to grow so much that some people have made it their entire career, turning their passion into a full-time job.

Will the Tekken World Tour 2024 Season Feature Tekken 8?

When asked if the Tekken 7 World Tour 2023 Finals will be the last big tournament to feature Tekken 7 since Tekken 8 is coming, Yogi was quite tight-lipped. She said that there’s still no release date for the upcoming game in the franchise, but added new details will be revealed next year.

TEKKEN World Tour – What’s next

The race to finish among the top 19 players and qualify for the TEKKEN World Tour Finals is starting to take shape. There will surely be plenty of surprises in store for the second half of the season, but we do have some idea of who can start thinking about the Finals and who still has work to do to get there.

Here are three stories to follow in the second half of the 2018 TEKKEN World Tour:

How many of Korea’s stars will reach the TEKKEN World Tour Finals?

The fact that Korean players have won eight of the first 14 TEKKEN World Tour events should come as no surprise. What is a bit surprising is how those wins have been shared. Six different Korean players - Knee, Saint, JDCR, Qudans, LowHigh, and JeonDDing - have already picked up Tour wins, a far cry from the stranglehold that JDCR and Saint held on much of last year's Tour. That spread of success has led to Korean players owning 10 of the top 19 places on the leaderboard heading into this weekend, including the entire top seven.

The players currently in the top seven (the six event winners plus Kkokkoma) haven’t officially clinched TEKKEN World Tour Finals berths just yet, but there are few realistic scenarios that would see any of them fall below the qualification line. But the players a bit farther back still have some work to do. Chanel and Rangchu are in strong position but will need a few more points in the second half to secure their spots. Dimeback’s fifth-place finish at CEO has him on the right side of the qualification line, but only by 30 points.

There is still a chance that even more Korean players can make the Finals field. GoAttack (currently 23rd) seems the most likely candidate as he was able to travel to both Combo Breaker and the Taiwan Challenger. Gura (34th) will need bigger results to get into the conversation, but his win at last year’s Barcelona Games World shows that he is capable of just that. And Breadman23 (25th) will be a threat… if he can attend events outside of Korea.

Can Europe take advantage of its second-half schedule advantage?

A trio of European stars currently sit above the Tekken World Tour Finals qualification line. Tissuemon (t-8th) of Italy is well into qualifying position thanks to a pair of Tour victories. He is joined in qualifying position by France's Super Akouma (13th), who is above the cutline thanks to an early-season win in Kuwait; and the U.K.'s Kaneandtrench (18th), who has already turned in a few strong performances.

Reaching the Top 19 is an achievement for anyone, but this is especially true for European players. Europe has hosted just four offline TEKKEN World Tour events so far this season, the fewest of any region. The script flips after this weekend, as the continent will host six offline events in the second half of the season compared to the four each that the Americas and Asia will host. European players just below the qualification line, including Fergus (20th) and Asim (24th), will have a chance to make a late charge up the standings. Throw in the fact that the Last Chance Qualifier will take place in Amsterdam and Europe might find itself very well-represented in the TEKKEN World Tour Finals.

Can America’s best make a charge up the standings?

American players have picked up some big results on this year’s Tour, including Lil Majin’s fourth-place finish at CEO and Joey Fury’s wins over JDCR and Saint in recent weeks. But those successes haven’t translated to the Tour leaderboard. Entering this weekend, only two American players count themselves among the top 19. Twelfth-place Anakin has a bit of room between himself and the cut line. Joey Fury, however, is currently the last man in the TEKKEN World Tour Finals field and will need to pick up every point he can to stay there.

The good news for American fans is that after the top 19, five of the next ten players in the standings are Americans, and all of them have the capability to make a charge up the standings. Lil Majin (21st) proved at CEO that he can hang with the best of the best. 2017 Tour Finalists Speedkicks (22nd) and P.Ling (t-27th) are threats to make deep runs at any event they are in. Shadow (t-27th) and Trungy (29th) still have some work to do, but both have already made deep runs at Tour events this year. And don’t forget about JimmyJTran (35th), whose 2017 charge up the standings to the top of the Americas region came entirely in the second half of the season.

What Is the Tekken World Tour?

The  Tekken World Tour  is the biggest competition of the year, where expert players from all around the globe participate to compete against one another.  Bandai Namco Entertainment , a Japanese multinational video game publisher, organizes the tournament circuit. It started as a points-based, season-long competition in 2017.

The circuit comprises tournaments that award players who secure high ranks at big in-person games. Players who cannot travel participate in online events and seek their rewards. The player who wins this competition emerges as the world champion. The player who plays smartly throughout the year gets a hefty reward from the prize pool. It is similar to all other offline championships, demanding persistence and discipline to become a victor.

How Do Players Get Points?

The circuit has Tekken tournaments, and players get points based on their performance at these tournaments. These points help players climb the leaderboard and become qualifiers eventually. The Tekken World Tour has a different tier of tournaments where the winning players get points.

The Tier 1 tournament features players from all over the world. Players who rank the highest throughout the seasons can compete in the Tekken World Tour Finals.

What Is New in the Tekken World Tour 2023?

This year’s circuit, the Tekken World Tour, began in March 2023 with the most famous event, EVO. The excitement level of the fans is unmatched since Tekken 8 will replace Tekken 7 after the grand finale. The community is eager to bid farewell to the competitive environment of the legendary Tekken 7. The best part of the Tekken 2023 tournament was the comeback of Challenger events and Dojo events. The master events have already concluded, and the leaderboard is set for the finals. This year’s  master events  included:

• Combo Breaker
• Fighters Showdown
• Punishment 2
• Thaiger Uppercut

EVO  is a significant event in the Tekken World Tour, and the players who win the challenge can conveniently make it to the finals. The points’ weightage is excellent. Most players plan to win this event to secure their position at the top of the leadership hierarchy. However, this time, players got a chance to play Challenger events, too.

Challenger events are one tier down from Master events. Challenger events included:

• Brussels Challenge
• Cape Town Showdown
• First Attack
• Head Stomper
• Paradise Game Battle
• Slash N Dash Emirates Showdown
• Uprising Korea

Dojo events had fewer points, but it was enough to open the fighting game to new challengers. Now, all these tournaments are concluded, and players who secure their position on the leaderboard will get to the showdown known as the Grand Final.

Finals 2023: Competitors

This year, around twenty players will participate in the Tekken World Tour Finals 2023. Around nineteen (19) players qualify via the Tekken World Tour Leaderboard 2023, and the Last Chance Qualifier selects the last qualifier. A list mentioning the names of the nineteen qualifiers has been released. And the last qualifier will be chosen at the Last Chance Qualifiers on January 12, 2024.

These are the names of confirmed  qualifiers :

• Arslan Ash is sitting at the top with 2290 points.
• Ulsan is second with 1460 points.
• Jae Hyun Kim has 1265 points.
• Jeonsanghyeon has 1075 points.
• Knee has 980 points.
• Atif has 970 points.
• Joka has 965 points.
• Rangchu has 955 points.
• Anakin has 935 points.
• Danielmado has 860 points.
• Raef has 850 points.
• Kkokkoma has 835 points.
• LowHigh has 801 points.
• AO has 776 points.
• Chikurin has 730 points.
• Tibetano has 715 points.
• Joey Fury has 685 points.
• Vincent Homan has 675 points.
• Nopperut Hempamom has 670 points.

The twentieth player will be chosen on January 12. It is important to note that as Bandai has announced, players who are in between the 20th position and the 60th position will only get a chance to participate in this last round. This could be the last chance to get on the qualifiers list.

Prize Details

The Grand Finals has a  prize pool  of $100,000. The two days in the first month of January will determine who is the World Champion. The first winner will get $50,000, and the second will get $13,000. Meanwhile, those who secured third and fourth positions will get $6000 and $4000, respectively. Whoever plays throughout the year and manages to secure fifth and sixth positions will get a reward of $3000. The remaining seventh and eighth-position players will get $2500.

Where Can You Watch the Finals?

The Tekkin World Tour Finals 2023 will be available on the official Twitch page of Tekkin. It hosts all the major events for Tekkens, and the Grand Finals can also be found there. You could not make it to the finals, but you can be a spectator of the Grand Final. The Tekken tournaments were available on streaming platforms such as Evo or The Mixup. Make sure you take advantage of the biggest battle in the gaming world.

Earlier this month, Evo Japan 2023 kicked off TEKKEN World Tour 2023 as the first Master event in the circuit, with GS| RB Arslan Ash emerging victorious! Arslan Ash has previously won TEKKEN 7 in Evo Japan 2019 and Evo 2019 , making this quite a monumental achievement.

What’s next for TWT2023? Here’s everything you need to get brought up to speed on the Tour, whether you’re a returning participant or just joining the action.

The official TEKKEN competitive circuit returns to global offline events after switching to an online format due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout TWT2023, players compete to earn points in tiered events to increase their overall ranking. The hierarchy for the events is as follows: Master+ , Master , Challenger , and Dojo . These tiers offer varying levels of competition and reward. The TWT2023 Global Leaderboard is updated every 12 hours, showing the latest standings for registered players.

Evo 2023 is set to be the first Master+ event and will allow players to make a massive impact on their overall TWT2023 ranking. At Evo Japan 2023, TEKKEN competitors got to experience the first Alpha test for the upcoming TEKKEN 8. Attendees at The MIXUP and COMBO BREAKER will also have their chance to preview the game. ‍ Challenger events highlight important regions and bring opportunities to players without local Master events. These events are essential for promoting the communities in regions with growing player bases. The upcoming Challenger events are Paradise Game Battle in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Slash n Dash Emirates Showdown in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Head Stomper in Malmo, Sweden, FV Major in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Brussels Challenge Major Edition in Brussels, Belgium, with more locations coming soon.

Dojo events are smaller community-led events that local tournament organizers set up by applying through Bandai Namco Entertainment’s official portal . Since Evo Japan 2023 concluded, nearly two dozen Dojo events have taken place and have either already awarded players their points or are actively finalizing them.

Tekken World Tour Finals 2023: All results, standings, and Tekken 8 announcements

Tekken 7 gets one last ride before the next iteration of the King of Iron Fist Tournament enters its next era with the release of Tekken 8 on Jan. 26. Whoever wins the Tekken World Tour Finals 2023 will be the final T7 world champion, so the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Running on Jan. 13 and 14, the top 20 Tekken players from the last year of competitions come together for a final clash for $100,000 USD in New Orleans, U.S. This includes multiple former TWT champions returning while other greats like Arslan Ash battle to add another title to their T7 legacies. 

For the TWT Finals 2023, players will be split into four groups of five to fight for placements in the final bracket—with only two players from each group moving on. From there, the playoffs will be double-elimination, best-of-twos until we reach the final three rounds, which are best-of-threes. 

Tekken World Tour Finals 2023: All results and standings

Arslan Ash’s 3-1 victory over CBM in the grand finals makes him the second Pakistani player to win the TWT, following ATIF’s breakout performance at the TWT Finals in 2022. It also likely cements his legacy as the greatest Tekken 7 player ever , adding his first TWT title to dozens of others—including a record four Tekken Evo championships. 

Taking the final TWT title was Arslan’s main goal for the last six months, noting back at Evo 2023 that he hadn’t won that event yet and it would be a perfect end to his time with T7 before potentially moving on to play T8 . 

All Tekken 8 announcements from Tekken World Tour Finals 2023

While Bandai Namco didn’t promise any Tekken 8 announcements for the Tekken World Tour Finals 2023, several different trailers were shown.

Throughout the weekend, Bandai shared gameplay trailers for Alisa and Zafina , two returning fighters that we already knew were in the game but did not have full trailers yet, along with the full reveal of Tekken 8’s opening movie . During the final day of action, a DLC roadmap for Tekken 8’s Playable Character Year 1 Pass was shared too, revealing that Eddy Gordo will join the roster this Spring and additional fighters will be released in Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

We also got confirmation that the Tekken World Tour will return on April 13 with Tekken 8 as the main title.
