Bastille have announced a ten-year anniversary tour for their debut album Bad Blood . You can check out the tour dates below.

Originally released in 2013, Bad Blood featured breakout single “Pompeii” and went on to become the biggest selling digital album of the year. Following the success of Bad Blood , Bastille went on to win the British Breakthrough Act award at the 2014 BRIT Awards and were nominated for Best New Artist at the 2015 Grammys.

The ‘Bad Blood X’ tour will see the band play the album in full “plus other favorites.”

‘Pearl Jam — Dark Matter’ To Hit Theaters For One Night Only

Kicking off June 28 as part of Dublin’s Trinity Summer Series, the ten-date tour will see the band visit Margate, Manchester and Leeds before a gig at London’s Alexandra Palace Park. Tickets for the shows go on sale Friday November 4 at 10am GMT. Check out the full run of dates below.

Bastille - Pompeii (Official Music Video)

Bastille released their fourth album Give Me The Future back in February, while an expanded edition was released in August.

The album came alongside a “surreal, otherworldly” digital experience that saw the band perform in front of both a real-world audience and a virtual crowd.

“We’ve always been fascinated by that tension between the desire to escape your life and the reality of having to confront things,” vocalist Dan Smith told NME . “Escapism can be this amazing, transportive tool that allows you to get out of your own head and be someone else but ultimately, is it realistic enough? In the long term, is it healthy?”

Smith also revealed that he wanted to soundtrack the sequel to Red Dead Redemption 2 .

“I want to make an epic score for Red Dead Redemption 3 ,” he told NME. “I think that’d be really fun – getting to knock about on a horse in the Wild West with some great music banging in the background.”

Bastille’s ‘Bad Blood X’ tour includes the following shows in 2023:

JUNE: 28 – Dublin, Trinity Summer Series 30 – Newmarket Racecourses

JULY: 01 – Margate, Dreamland 02 – Devon, Powderham Castle 07 – Manchester, Castlefield Bowl 09 – Bridlington, Spa 13 – Leeds, Millennium Square 14 – London, Alexandra Palace Park 19 – Warwick Castle 23 – Ludlow Castle.

Bastille at Sounds of the City, Castlefield Bowl — supports, stage times, setlist and more

Literally already humming Pompeii.

Danny Jones

We’ve already had the likes of The Lathums, Pulp, Hozier, The Blossoms and more at this year’s Sounds of the City festival, and now it’s time for Bastille to bring their best to Castlefield Bowl.

The alternative/indie-pop hit-makers of the 2010s are fittingly celebrating 10 years since their seminal album, now being re-released as Bad Blood X , and their anniversary tour sees them return to Manchester just over a year on from their massive AO Arena show.

Bastille haven’t stopped pumping out music but it’s hard to believe it’s been a whole decade since the debut record and it’s got us feeling all nostalgic for old FIFA soundtracks, their massive sets at Glastonbury and Radio 1’s Big Weekend and just a great time for music in general.

That being said, the boys are still going strong and are next up in what has already been an immense lineup for Sounds of the City 2023, so just like with all the other headliners, we thought we’d give you a rundown of everything you need to know ahead of their big gig on Friday, 7 July.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by B△STILLE (@bastilledan)

Tickets — we have bad news…

Oh dear, Bastille at the Bowl is all sold out, what a shocker.

In all seriousness, this lot are one of the biggest bands in Britain and you were always going to have to get in early if you wanted to stand a chance of getting a ticket, especially considering they sold out the Arena last year.

Of course, it’s worth keeping your eye out for spares on resale sites like Twickets and TicketSwap but, as always, we advise being cautious when dealing with any resellers and urge you to stay away from ticket touts at all costs. No point in getting stung and making the problem even bigger, folks.

Who’s supporting Bastille in Manchester?

Before the Bastille boys themselves, you’ll be treated to three different support acts over the several hours you’ll be spending in the glorious outdoor arena.

Starting with a warm-up from a DJ that is yet to be announced — as has been the case every night at this year’s festival — you’ll then get to see one of Merseyside’s rising stars in 21-year-old, Michael Aldag , who’s opened for the likes of the Lightning Seeds, Miles Kane and many more.

After that, your second support will come from popular Irish singer-songwriter, Orla Gartland , who’s been on the scene for some time now and will also be returning for her own headline show later this year at Manchester Academy 2 .

View this post on Instagram A post shared by orla (@orlagartland)

Bastille Castlefield Bowl stage times

As for when everyone’s turning up, doors will be open from 5:30pm as it has every night in this series and the DJ will be pumping out the tunes from the moment you walk into the venue.

The first support Michael Aldag is due to kick things off at 6:45pm, followed by a short interval before Orla Gartland comes on at 7:45pm, as well as one last break before the main event.

Bastille are due to come on stage at 9pm and the curfew is likely to land around 11pm, so you’ve got a good couple hours of partying. Enjoy!

Setlist (have a guess …)

Listen, this is the ’10 Years of Bad Blood’ anniversary tour: it pretty much does what it says on the tin and considering this was the first time we were introduced to Bastille, we’re more than happy to roll back the years.

As verified by previous shows on Setlist.fm , the band will be playing the album in full as well as an encore where they might mix things up a bit more, but here’s the previous order they played things in:

  • Things We Lost in the Fire
  • These Streets
  • Weight of Living, Pt. II
  • Daniel in the Den
  • Laura Palmer
  • Weight of Living, Pt. I
  • WHAT YOU GONNA DO???
  • No Angels (with BIM)
  • Happier (Marshmello & Bastille cover)
  • Million Pieces
  • Of the Night
  • Shut Off the Lights

About Castlefield Bowl

If you’ve never been before, Castlefield Bowl is a beautiful amphitheatre-style outdoor venue right here in Manchester city centre. Although all tickets are billed as unreserved standing, if you’re quick you can take a seat on the large concrete steps that curve around the stage.

Best view in the house and you can obviously stand throughout; plenty of people also take a perch up on the grassy banks at the back of the venue too, which gives you a great view of the stage and the rest of the roughly 8,000-strong crowd.

Castlefield Bowl is located at 101 Liverpool Road in the city centre, with the closest tram stop being Deansgate-Castlefield just a six-minute walk up the road; you can also walk it from the major train stations, or use the 101, 197, 255, 256, 41, 50 or X50 buses.

  • Headie One, Digga D and more confirmed for size?sessions Festival at Victoria Warehouse

Weather forecast

It’s looking like it’s gonna be a hot one on Friday , with temperatures set to peak at around 26C between 5 and 6pm, i.e. just as you arrive at the venue.

Luckily, it’s set to be clear skies pretty much all day apart from very early in the morning, so you’ll be able to soak in all the proper festival vibes.

Once again, this is an outdoor venue and there’s only coverage on the canopied section of stone steps towards the back of the amphitheatre, so get plenty of fluids down you, whack on some suncream and maybe take a hat — you can always throw it on stage at the frontman and his glorious hair at the end.

We’ll cheers to that. Another night of Sounds of the City is nearly here and Castlefield’s going to popping yet again — bring on Bastille at the Bowl!

Glass Animals have announced details of their long-awaited global tour, including a gig here in Manchester.

The Grammy and BRIT-nominated British band will be performing at the Co-op Live arena in November.

The announcement comes just a day after they dropped their first single from their upcoming album ‘I Love You So F***ing Much’.

Glass Animals released Creatures in Heaven yesterday, then delighted fans with details of a huge global arena tour.

There’ll be 44 tour dates across the US, Europe and the UK for Glass Animals this year, including their Manchester gig.

The four-piece already have three studio albums to their names and smashed into the UK Singles Chart with their biggest hit, the four-times Platinum certified Heat Waves.

That song? Oh yeah, it’s just the biggest international hit from a British band in almost 30 years. It’s also the first song with a single writer and producer to hit the top of the charts since Pharrell’s Happy.

Their upcoming fifth album will be the follow-up to their 2020 release Dreamland, which sold more than 12 million copies globally.

Lead singer Dave Bayley said the album was born in the midst of an existential crisis, with the band finding global stardom during lockdown.

He said: “Life can change dramatically, but sometimes you aren’t able to change as quickly on a personal level. You end up feeling like a spectator.

“And then you are asked and expected to be a certain type of person, a different person. But…I wasn’t sure how. It confused me to the point of not knowing who I was or if anything was real.”

Glass Animals announce Manchester Co-op Live gig on huge global headline tour

He said that being stuck in a wooden house during one of the biggest storms in California’s history forced him into a new headspace where he realised that ‘human connection and the love between us is much bigger, more important, and more complex than anything else’.

‘I Love You So F***ing Much’ will be 10 intimate love stories set against the backdrop of the universe.

Glass Animals frontman Dave added: “I love you so f***ing much, I LOVE YOU SO F***ING MUCH, I love you SO f***ing MUCH, I love you  so F***ING much, I LOVE you so f***ing MUCH. These words take on a different meaning every time you say them.

“The universe may make us feel overwhelmingly small, but we have this human connection that is far vaster and more mysterious.

“Love comes in an infinite number of forms and shapes and sizes. It is so complex, and so powerful that even witnessing the tiniest instance of it can change your life forever.”

Fans who pre-order the album will have access to early pre-sale tickets going live at 10am on 9 April. General on-sale will go live at 10am on 11 April.

Robbie Williams calls Matty Healy unhinged

British music royalty Robbie Williams has come out to declare Matty Healy the only pop/rock star “who is willing to be something other than beige” in a recent social media post.

The former Take That singer and pop icon has come out with plenty of big claims of late – including that he believes he’s being targeted by aliens to be a messenger for them on Earth due to his fame – but his latest Insta-rant has also seen him give Matty Healy a bit of a peculiar compliment sandwich.

Crafting a lengthy paragraph on his page, Williams not only called Matty Healy “the only commercially viable pop/rock star that I can see who is willing to be something other than beige” but also “unhinged” and “willing to upset”.

Reiterating that he believes The 1975 frontman is “super smart and super talented”, he also went on to say that the local artist has a propensity to be “upsetting for a cause”. We’re not going to pretend we know exactly what Robbie’s on about but the gist seems to be that he thinks he’s good and provocative.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Robbie Williams (@robbiewilliams)

The 50-year-old, who has been no stranger to a headline or two himself over the years, went on to add that he sees Healy as prone to “Upsetting for a cause. The cause being a complicated inner life a rebellious streak and boredom.”

2023 was very much the year of The 1975 not only in terms of the music industry and their commercial success within it but also because of Healy’s multiple controversies.

From sucking fans’ thumbs in the crowd and being labelled sexist and racist by Rina Sawayama for insensitive jokes made on a podcast, to beefing with Noel Gallagher after he told him to “stop marding” with his brother; dating the other biggest name on the planet in Taylor Swift and more, he’s been absolutely everywhere.

Even in his apologies for comments such as those flagged by labelmate Sawayama , he still couldn’t resist the urge for some added pageantry and turned his response into a fake mental advert for the BetterHelp online therapy company. It’s this kind of stuff that we’re guessing Robbie is referring to.

Matty Healy just spoke for about 3 minutes about self-help and apologies and the pratfalls of playing the cliche rock star and it ended as a Better Help therapy bit. #The1975 #HollywoodBowl @the1975 pic.twitter.com/zxf4rwzWP9 — Rock Cellar Magazine (@RockCellarMag) October 3, 2023
  • Charli XCX announces Manchester arena gig on massive ‘Brat’ tour
  • The 1975 ‘banned from Malaysia’ after Matty Healy kisses male bandmate live on stage
  • Liam Gallagher says his son Gene’s band will be supporting him on Definitely Maybe tour

Elsewhere in his speech, the Stoke-born singer solo artist asked, “How boring is the music scene right now?”, caveating that while he’s not attacking the music itself, he does believe there’s been a “death of friction, danger, personality”.

Holding his hands up to becoming more ‘vanilla’ in an attempt to stay with the times, he conversely said: “No one knows what you’ll say that will get you cancelled. So many people to offend… I’ve gotta get some of that energy back in my musical life… I hope I have time to fit them all in. It’s time to take the p*ss again… and I’m looking forward to it.”

While we by no means advocate anyone making art simply for the sake of trying to ‘p*ss people off’ and we make no qualms about the likes of Matty Healy being a divisive figure in music, to say the least, it’s impossible to deny there aren’t some seriously huge fans of The 1975 as creatives and performers .

Do you agree that most modern pop/rockstars are ‘beige’ or are there any performers you think are also pushing the boundaries in the contemporary music scene?

Everything you need to know about the band’s concert on wednesday, june 28th.

It has been a busy year for alt-pop-rockers Bastille , who are marking 10 years since the release of their debut album, Bad Blood – anyone feeling old yet? So far they’ve played shows in Europe, Mexico, the US – some of which were with Duran Duran and Nile Rodgers – and soon they’ll hit the road again across Ireland, Europe and back again to the US. They’re wasting no time this year.

This week singer-songwriter Dan Smith, drummer Chris “Woody” Wood, guitarist Will Farquarson and bassist Kyle Simmons will kick off their Give Me The Future tour, promoting their 2022 album of the same name, in good old Dublin, Ireland. So what can we expect from the concert?

When do they play?

The concert is on at Trinity College Dublin on Wednesday, June 28th.

What time should I arrive?

Gates open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Due to increased traffic and security measures, concertgoers are advised to be at the venue in sufficient time.

Who is the support act?

Irish singer and social media star Ryan Mack will warm up the stage before Dan Smith and the lads make an entrance.

How do I get there?

The concert organisers have instructed fans to walk, cycle or use public transport to get to the concert as there will be no parking facilities on site. They have advised ticket holders to plan for at least an extra hour-and-a-half travel time to and from the venue as traffic delays are inevitable. Stewards will be directing crowds and there is no entry via the Front Square or Nassau Street gates. The entry point is via Lincoln Place Gate.

By Dart: The Dart will run services to and from the gig via Pearse Street station. The last train northbound leaves at 12.03am, the last train southbound leaves at 12:16am. For more information see irishrail.ie .

By bus: Dublin Bus run services right up to Trinity College. The bus routes serving Nassau Street, just outside the venue, are: 11, 37, 38, 38A, 38D, 39A and 70.

bastille 2023 tour setlist

Trinity College Dublin summer series map 2023

What will they play?

On their last tour, most of their sets lasted about 40 minutes. However, some performances, such as their gig in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 14th, lasted a little longer. So we can hope things will look a little like the set list from that night:

  • WHAT YOU GONNA DO???
  • Million Pieces
  • World Gone Mad
  • Send Them Off!
  • Quarter Past Midnight
  • Things We Lost in the Fire
  • Of the Night
  • Shut Off the Lights

Are there any tickets left?

This is a sold-out gig. However, you can keep an eye out for resale tickets on ticketmaster.ie . Buy tickets from accredited sources only.

What’s the story with security?

This concert is strictly over-18s and ID will be required. Allow time for security checks on the way in. Bags larger than A4 size will not be permitted and all bags may be searched, this can be time-consuming so consider going bagless for easier entry. There will be no cloakroom or storage facilities. No umbrellas, alcohol, garden furniture, selfie sticks, flares, glasses or cans, among other items, will be allowed into the event.

Can I take photographs at the concert?

Yes, but only with a smartphone or small camera. Professional cameras with a detachable lens and any other recording equipment are banned.

What’s the weather forecast?

Met Éireann is forecasting scattered clouds and a maximum temperature of 20 degrees. While the day might start with some showers in the area, things should clear up for revellers.

Duran Duran

Duran Duran will embark on a 2023 North American tour in support of their 2021 album “Future Past.”

British rock act Bastille and Nile Rodgers & Chic will join the band as special guests on all dates.

The arena tour will kick off on May 27 at the Bottlerock Festival in Napa Valley, Calif., and will wrap on Sept. 19 in Toronto. Stops include Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Austin, New Orleans, Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta, Tampa and Morrison, Colo., where the band will play at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre for two back-to-back nights in August. Dates for New York City and Los Angeles will be announced soon.

Duran Duran was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November.

“It’s remarkable to me that as a band, we are still hitting new milestones, and introducing the sound of DD to new generations of music lovers,” said singer Simon Le Bon in a statement. “We are truly grateful that we get to do what we do on a daily basis, and that we still love our job as much as we did when we started out some four decades ago.”
