Ask the Community
Ask a question
Does the ghost tour stop at bats for drinks?
They have different versions/variations on the ghost tour. The one we went on didn't stop anywhere for food/drink, but you should ask them specifically for the tour you're interested in.
Do the pub tours include any drinks?
The price of a Pub Tour does not cover the cost of drinks. Your guide will make suggestions for each bar you visit, but guests buy their own drinks. Thanks for asking.

Great time on our Ghost Tour to the G dungeon and through town. Our Guide Michael Yates did a great Job and was ever entertaining. Would do this again when we are in Charleston.
Mar 9, 2024
Thank you for your awesome review, Joseph! We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your tour with Yates. We look forward to welcoming you back next time you are in town.
we had a fabulous tour. Our guide Dave has a wealth of knowledge about Charleston and the history of the people who lived there, whites, enslaved persons, and Black freedmen. He actually has a degree in history from the College of Charleston. But, most importantly, he communicates easily, enthusiastically, and clearly. His tour provided a good balance of American history, going back to colonial times, as well as information about the architecture one sees in Charleston, and he was very open to questions. We highly recommend this tour.

Thank you, Peter! Faith truly is the best! Glad to hear you had a great time with her on tour.
Tonight's Bulldog Ghost Tour of the Old Jail in Charleston was an experience I won't soon forget! This tour takes you through the eerie, historic corridors of one of the city's most notorious landmarks, and it's as thrilling as it is chilling. Our guide, Dustin, was the star of the show. His knowledge of the jail's history and the lore surrounding it was exceptional. He didn't just recite facts; he told stories that brought the past to life, making us feel as if we were stepping back in time. Dustin's enthusiasm was infectious, and his ability to blend humor with horror made for a perfect balance. His respectful approach to the darker aspects of the jail's history added depth to the experience. The tour itself was well-organized, with just the right amount of time spent in each section of the jail. The ambiance was incredible, with the dim lighting and the old stone walls creating an atmosphere that was both haunting and mesmerizing. It's one thing to read about history, but it's another to walk through it, and this tour lets you do just that. What really set this tour apart was Dustin's dedication. He went above and beyond to engage with the group, answering questions and sharing insights that made the experience feel personal and unique. It's clear that he's passionate about what he does, and that passion made the tour an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend the Bulldog Ghost Tour of the Old Jail to anyone visiting Charleston. Whether you're a history buff, a fan of ghost stories, or just looking for a unique night out, this tour is a must-do. And if you're lucky enough to have Dustin as your guide, you're in for a real treat!

Sounds like an awesome experience! We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. I will be sure to pass along your kind words to Dustin!
In all honesty, food tour felt like a waste of $95. Food portions were tiny and we learned next to nothing. The tour guide seemed lazy and didn't provide anything educational until the second restaurant and that was AFTER we inquired as to when the education would start. And that was Minimal at best. We had already been in Charleston for two days and had eaten at beautiful restaurants with excellent food. The three restaurants our guide took us to were mediocre in comparison. Also, heads up: $40 for a 2 drink alcohol option is ludicrous. We were thankful we did not purchase that and instead bought drinks at the restaurants along the tour.

Denise, We are sorry that the tour did not meet expectations. In regards to your guide not providing any content, that is definitely concerning to us and we will definitely address it if indeed true. The restaurant selection is a very tough process. Many think it is easy for food tours to pick any restaurant to take food tours which is not the case. There are many that do not allow food tours to visit their establishments for different reasons. We want to highlight some great places in addition to foods that are deeply rooted in Low Country traditions and history. We understand that $40 for two cocktails sounds ludicrous, but the cocktails provided costs around $15 each if you were to purchase them on your own. Since we include the tip, two cocktails for $40 is how much you would pay for them anyway. Any guests is welcome to purchase cheaper drinks along the way if they so choose. We have no problem offering a refund for the experience. Please reach out to our Tour Guide Manager, Andrew Kuhn, at [email protected] to discuss further.
The only ghost tour in Charleston that allows access to the circular graveyard after hours!! After 20+ years of living in the south, I finally made the move to experience a frightfully delightful tour. The bulldog tour group offered two time frames for this ghost tour of 7:30 and 9:30pm. Our tour guide was named Devlin and he was super informative and had a clear voice. He felt passionate about what he does and could tell! Our tour took us down part of an alley, near a church, and then into the graveyard. We ended the tour in Washington Square. Overall had a chillingly entertained time! Also, I saved some money by mentioning their ad from one of the local papers so that helped with the price a bit. At the end of the tour, Devlin mentioned if you share his name for booking the next tour there would also be a discount so something to consider for the next tour! Happy haunting!!

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your tour! It was a pleasure having you join us! Thank you!
While vacationing in Charleston, SC what better thing to do then act like a tourist and join a walking ghost tour!! I loved every minute of it. So much history and culture. Our guide was knowledgeable and was great about answering questions!

We’re happy you had a fantastic time with us! We’re thankful for amazing customers like you. We hope to see you again soon!
5-25-23 9pm My husband and I booked this tour the day before online believing the experience would be even better late at night. Hubby absolutely loves to hear about the sightings of ghosts on television. Therefore what could be better than a tour here rich in so much history. The tour we signed up for was 90 minutes Ghost and Dungeon Walking Tour for $78.44. No one tells you that with the dark cobblestone streets just getting to where the tour started was a challenge. Once we got there Steve our guide lead us down the cobblestone streets at an extremely fast pace. I work out several times a week and found it extremely difficult to keep up. Almost felt we were on a hike not a ghost tour. We stopped in the open market so our guide could put our mind to rest that no slaves were sold here and that the market stayed open even during Covid. What about the ghosts interesting information however we signed up for a Ghost tour. Other tours and actually if you read the signs will tell you this information without paying $78 dollars. So next stop hurray keep up you definitely want to break an ankle and go to the hospital. Oh wait will there be ghosts there? Lol once we make it to the Dungeon all this running I have to go to the ladies room so a nice guide in the Customs House took me there while everyone else went to the basement. The Dungeon is literally a poor man's Disney attraction and guess what no ghosts. But before we leave our guide Steve will show you on his phone some activity from a prior guest picked up on their phone and gave him a copy. Really that's it? Next stop Washington Park we were not promised to see George rise from the dead and the thought of retracing where I was already at earlier in the day was not exciting or interesting so we cut our losses and left. Hands down the absolute worst tour I have ever been on in my life. Over priced at $78.44 I should have at least been scared not given a hike in the dark. The only up side is it didn't rain as this tour was rain or shine. My advise to the tour company rename the tour for the truth you hike people around in the dark read them signs they can read for free. This tour is a definite pass.

Clarissa, We are sorry to hear you were disappointed in the tour with us. The tour you were on starts from our office, which is no where near any cobblestones streets. We are sorry that you also missed some of the dungeon. We have restrooms at the office and encourage everyone to use them prior to tour time. We do this because there are no public restrooms after dark in the city and so that it doesn't hold up the rest of the tour. We will certainly address the issue with walking too fast with your guide. We have provided a full refund for the experience.
The jailhouse guide is a native of Charleston who spoke like a historian sharing detailed stories, experiences, and even footage. For me, there is a tremendous amount of sadness felt hearing some of the stories. The guide is serious but with an appropriate amount of humor. We took our preteen kids who were engaged and enjoyed themselves. The tour is adequately timed, engaging, and worthwhile.

Glad to hear the entire family enjoyed the tour, Stephanie!
While visiting Charleston, we took a tour of the old City Jail on Magazine Street - which I played in (while it was empty in the 1960s). I had read the reviews for Bulldog Tours, as well as researched the old jail, and was very excited to plan a tour. I was very disappointed with what the tour had to offer. While I'm not against 60% of the ticket cost being dedicated to jail upkeep/renovations, I personally would not recommend this tour with Bulldog Tours. If I return to Charleston for future tours of the Charleston area, I will definitely go with another tour company.

Moscow Metro
The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.
What is the kremlin in russia?
The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.
And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.
During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.
There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.
