The tour was cancelled in May 2020 after Guns N' Roses released a statement reading, 'Sadly, the upcoming European tour will not be happening. Things are changing daily and we want to keep our fans, crew members and band safe.
'We are working hard with our promoters, venues and cities/countries on next steps and will make further announcements as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience, we will get through this together and look forward to seeing you all very soon...'
However, in August, the band released a new statement to announce the dates were being rearranged for June 2020, 'Hey Gunners, Picking up where we left off last week, most of our 2020 European tour dates are being rescheduled to June of 2021.
'Unfortunately, due to routing and venue availability, issues that developed during the postponement process a select few shows were not able to be rescheduled and have been cancelled.
'We are forever grateful for your understanding and continued support during these unprecedented times. We are looking forward to getting back on stage.'

Watch Guns N’ Roses Debut New AC/DC Cover at First 2022 Concert
Guns N' Roses ended an eight-month absence from the stage last night (Jun. 4), kicking off a European tour with a 26-track show at Passeio Marítimo de Alges, Oeiras in Portugal.
The night's surprises included a cover of AC/DC ’s “Walk All Over You,” a song from 1979's Highway to Hell that wasn't one of the dozens Axl Rose sang when he briefly toured with the Australian legends in 2016.
The group also played “Reckless Life” from their 1986 EP Live ?1@ Like a Suicide for the first time since 1993, and Appetite for Destruction ' s “ You’re Crazy ” for the first time since 1991. Also present was the recently-revived Hollywood Rose song “ Shadow of Your Love ,” while ” Civil War ” was dedicated to Ukraine.
You can see video of all three first-time tour performances and find the full set list below.
Apart from those additions, the band's first performance since October 2021 stuck fairly closely to last year's set list, featuring requisite hits like " Welcome to the Jungle ," " Sweet Child O' Mine ," " November Rain " and " Paradise City ."
Last year saw the release of two "new" Guns N' Roses songs, " Absurd " and " Hard Skool ," the first since Axl Rose , Slash and Duff McKagan reunited in 2016. Both songs, which were played last night, date back to the Chinese Democracy sessions but feature newly recorded parts from Slash and McKagan.
Slash said earlier this year that more music would be coming from the veteran group as well. "There's new Guns material coming out as we speak, and we'll probably keep putting it out until the entire record's worth of stuff is done and then put it out solid," he told Classic Rock magazine. "It's cool. I'm enjoying working on the stuff and having a good time doing it."
The guitarist kept busy during GNR's downtime by releasing 4 , his fourth solo album featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. He embarked on a solo tour in support of the album that was notably light on Guns N' Roses songs. "I have to admit, I really missed playing the Guns material when this thing first started, so it was a great outlet for me," Slash told UCR . "But having gotten back with all my buddies in Guns, after a while I was like, 'I don't really need to do it with Myles and Company,' so we don't have any Guns songs in the set."

Didn't attend a show but based on reviews from members here it seemed to have been a great tour. I also really liked the inclusion of Reckless Life and how Axl can still sing it like he did in the 80s. They also varied the sets more than usual.

I was in the Seville show. Worst experience I've ever had in a concert. I only went because they played in my town. I went with very low expectations, not expecting a good performance nor new son

I actually shed a tear during the 2nd night performance of Estranged, I don’t even know why exactly either, but I guess I just got caught up in the moment and of course it’s definitely one of the song

I Needed It like the air that I breathe. I was so sad for several personal reasons, but the idea of finally attending a GNR concert gave me a lot of renewed enthusiasm. I'll thank them for ever

Without wanting to get into a discussion about Ukraine, I don't see why Civil War is not appropriate for what they want to express (which is basically the mainstream perception and sentiment about what's going on there). I don't think the lyrics are literally about a civil war (as in a war between people of the same country/nation).
It's a song about how media instigate (and exaggerate) war, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer from it. Sounds familiar...

That's an interesting interpretation. Personally, I don't see that it is mainly about media's role in wars but more being a straight forward anti-war song.
And yeah, I think the title is not so much referring to wars between people in the same country, but used because it is an oxymoron and wars are anything but civil.
I think the energy was higher, mainly because axl is in his best shape physically since 2010. However, no new music AGAIN. This is the 3rd time theyve been to europe as a reunion. and 5th time since chinese democracy was released. It's a good setlist, generally hits the casuals and the hardcores well. No pyro, fireworks, no confetti was a bit underwhelming. No GnR dont need those things, but in a stadium basically as a nostalgia act charging £100 a ticket, they should be giving a bit more of a show. Don't need to be KISS or Motley Crue, but something other than just the songs. Good energy, but shit they didnt release any more new songs and make this a tour of the new album.

I think it's based on a simple anti-war concept: that there are those who gain from war (not necessarily or mainly the media) while ordinary folks are used as cannon fodder, being made to believe that they're fighting for a noble cause. So war is not really between people, even though it's made out to be by those who benefit for it, and in that sense every war is a civil war.
In my view the song is more relevant now than GN'R think it is.
6 hours ago, kanecrescente said: Quite simply, underwhelming. The band were great, Axl not so, feeble setlists (kudos for reckless life) and piss poor organisation but fuck me just write new songs instead of learning more and more covers. Also, the whole pandering to the media exaggeration of the whole Ukraine situation - like covid to excuse constant price hikes - is exactly what GNR stood against once upon a time... once violent criticisers of the media, now absolute media shaggers for some remotely positive publicity.
The pandering to the Ukrainian situation is an embarrassment, dedicating civil war to the Ukraine is an embarrassment, it’s not a civil war 😂 everything they once stood for has gone, just another band playing along with the media narrative, very sad to see.

I wonder if the response to this by the crowds in South America will be the same as by the crowds in Europe.

It depend about anyone think about it. In my country has loot of people catch about the media narrative. Many people isn't form their own mind. You realize it when heard people repeat word by word whatever the media says.

Woxel Rose is a new thing. Very interesting
I think musically they are actually better than 2017/2018 era but it's all just gone a bit stale.
It's becoming clear that new music, live shows, old footage won't be released.
The all new show never really happened.
I was at the second London show. Absolutely loved it. Got to see Axl sing my favourite song (Estranged) in a low register and it was sublime
My only though is that if he doesn’t choose to sing in his normal talking voice, he is crazy. Sounded so much better that way,,,,better than he had in last few years. Outside of that, it was same show, just a different leg of never ending tour.

I actually shed a tear during the 2nd night performance of Estranged, I don’t even know why exactly either, but I guess I just got caught up in the moment and of course it’s definitely one of the songs from GN’R’s catalogue that has the potential to elicit such strong feelings being an epic ballad.
My take on both London shows overall is that they were a chaotic mess organisationally as well as from the band’s performance by and large, but I wasn’t that mad at the whole experience like many others as it just felt like rock n’ roll to me.
It was unpredictable and it was exciting and I don’t regret a second of it, even after the fact I was sicker than I’ve been in years for a week afterwards as I gotta nasty virus.
Seeing tracks live for the first time such as Hard Skool, Absurd and Reckless Life meant I was able to look past the lack of Don’t Cry both nights as had seen performances of that back in London ‘17 1&2 as well as Download.
A final takeaway for me is that this band means a lot to me and I won’t take for granted any opportunity to see Axl and Slash live on stage any chance that presents itself…

Whilst there were many negatives, I agree wholeheartedly with this. Also one to get emotional during estranged, the Bass reverberating around the whole stadium during Dizzy's bit set me off 😂
I was at both London shows. The first one was decent after the sound issues in the first few songs although the short set list was pretty poor. Was even worse the second night but at least Axl explained and did his best to get through. I’ve see shows on each of these European legs (slane/London/Barcelona) and think these were the worst shows. I felt like they seemed burnt out and got the impression they just wanted to get the tour over and done with. The lack of pyro was pretty poor but the setlist is getting really boring now. Drop the covers and songs played for years. Bring in songs like pretty tied up, move to the city, nice boys (I’m aware this is a cover but at least Is on a GNR album) the garden, bad obsession and just freshen it up a bit. Feel a bit short changed if I’m honest. Hoping Slash and Axl’s recent comments about seeing us sooner than we think means we may get a tour next year with some changes to the show?

Also agree with this, was very much autopilot throughout and 'short changed' is a common feeling amongst those who went London... GNR's GNR however and will certainly be back when they are.
I got to see them in Stavanger, Munchen, Wien and Hannover.
I've enjoyed every show. Did not expect anything new, Reckless was a nice surprise.
Sadly our flight to London was cancelled, so I missed the two planned nights there. But at least the tickets got used by some guys here at MyGnr!

I don't think they'll emphasize so much on Ukraine down here like they did on Europe tho
Saw them before in ‘17 Prague and ‘18 Nijmegen. This tour in Vienna.
I think it was the best out of those three, the energy and the soul Axl has put in his performance is something I haven’t seen before. He is running and interacting with the crowd way more now than in previous years, it was overall sublime. I wish the setlist was a little longer, but that is just me being a spoiled brat, cause in Prague and Nijmegen they played around 31 songs and this time only 27. I missed Dont Cry as it is one of my favourites, but I loved HS, Absurd, Reckless Life and Crazy, they sounded really good. Will surely attend again when they come to Europe. I hope until then they will release another song or two and get some new additions to the setlist: Bad Obsession, PTU, TAY. ❤️
MaskingApathy
Switching around the setlist was cool, we've been asking for that for years. Loved the addition of Reckless Life and AFD You're Crazy and I liked the AC/DC songs too, you can tell both Axl and Slash had fun playing those. Even though Axl struggled a little bit vocally I liked that he really seemed to be trying hard and doing the best that he could, even if there's less rasp. It didn't sound as weak as 2018.
The main thing that irritated me was the fact that Dizzy Frank and Melissa looked super bored the whole show (Melissa so much that she's got a barstool to sit on for half the show). I guess Dizzy gets a bit of a pass since he's been there for so long but there's plenty of videos where he's sitting at the piano not even looking at the crowd just lazily tapping the tambourine. For Melissa I get that she didn't come into it as a fan of the band or familiar with the music but now she's gotten to the "it's just a gig" level where it's clear that she's just on autopilot. Up until now I liked her youthful energy but now it's like she would rather be somewhere else. And with Frank I think if he's bored then he should leave and open it up to someone who will actually appreciate the gig and do the material justice, like someone who is actually a fan of the music. That approach is fine for something like Journey but this is different, this is GnR we're talking about. It needs a bit more energy and passion, esp when the singer is finally putting in some effort.
I went to the show in Sweden, and I was thoroughly disappointed. I had 2019 expectations but sadly got a lot less. The band was really off that night and it seemed like none of them wanted to be on that stage, Axl was rougher than ever and the setlist had a total of 8 covers (including Blackbird as well as KOHD and LALD).
With that said though, I believe that was more of a problem with my specific show and not the tour leg as a whole. From what I've gathered they had great energy on a lot of shows and I really enjoyed the additions to, as well as the reshuffling off, the setlist.
I will definitely go see them again next time around, but my expectation will be a lot lower then they where this summer.
We love Axl Rose

McKagan recently announced an expanded digital edition of his acclaimed third solo album, "Lighthouse" , available now at all DSPs and streaming services. The deluxe release includes eight additional tracks along with three exclusive live performance videos filmed last December at Easy Street Records in McKagan 's hometown of Seattle, Washington.
"Lighthouse (Expanded Edition)" is highlighted by a stripped-down acoustic rendition of the album standout, "I Just Don't Know" , transformed from its powerful original version into a soaring, reflective ballad which showcases the vulnerability of the lyrics and McKagan 's vocal performance.
" 'I Just Don't Know (Acoustic Mix)' is a song I landed upon, that seems to encapsulate somehow, my own personal thoughts about what's next in life, and what is out there in general," says McKagan . "It's the core of the human existence to ponder the afterlife. I like to have fun with the possibilities."
Hailed by Paste as "an emotional, personal and spiritual reckoning...[ McKagan 's] most important rock project yet," "Lighthouse" now also features "This Is The Song" , "It Can't Come Too Soon" and "Pass You By" (all originally found on McKagan 's "This Is The Song" EP, released last May to honor Mental Health Awareness Month),along with the previously unheard "C'mon Boys" (featuring outlaw country badass Jesse Dayton ) and live versions of the fan favorites "I Saw God On 10th Street" , "Just Another Shakedown" and "Longfeather" . All three live tracks are accompanied by official videos from the intimate hometown event. In addition, a complete video capturing McKagan 's live in-store performance can be viewed in its entirety via YouTube .
"Lighthouse" is available now in a wide range of formats including streaming, download, CD and LP. A number of deluxe versions and bundles featuring official Certificates Of Authenticity signed by McKagan are also available. An exclusive line of brand-new "Lighthouse" merch is available now at www.duffonline.com.
"It's very nice for me to add the 'This Is The Song' EP from earlier last year, into the mix here of the 'Lighthouse' record itself," says McKagan . "Playing Easy Street Records in December was made much cooler when my erstwhile producer Martin Feveyear came up with the idea to record the show. We have included that recorded live show to this expanded release. There is also a studio track called 'C'mon Boys' that really only became a song when legendary Austin blues man and rockabilly god Jesse Dayton stopped by the studio with his guitar and voice!"
"Lighthouse" sees McKagan baring more of his artistic spirit than ever before, fusing acoustic elements with hard-edged rock 'n' roll to land at the sweet spot between soul-searching reflection and pure energy. The album was first announced last summer alongside its title track, "Lighthouse" , joined by an official visualizer streaming now at the official Duff McKagan YouTube channel.
"Lighthouse" was soon followed by "I Saw God On 10th Street" , also joined by an official visualizer. "I Saw God On 10th Street" received immediate praise from such outlets as Kerrang! , Revolver and American Songwriter . "Longfeather" arrived next, hailed by Revolver as "folky, elegiac" and joined by an official music video directed by longtime visual collaborators Connor Ellmann , Kuj Durollari and Arben Durollari . A video for the song "I Just Don't Know (Feat. Jerry Cantrell)" is also available.
Regarding how Jerry Cantrell ended up on the album, Duff told SPIN : "He and I have been playing on each other's demos for years and have known each other since around 1989 or 1990. We watch football together on Sundays and I played a lot of bass on his last solo album. I sent him 'I Just Don't Know' and he was, like, 'Man, this is great. Do you want me to do anything on it?' I said, 'Yeah. A solo.' He brought that beautiful solo and then asked if I needed him to sing, and I said, 'Sure.'"
On the topic of the lyrical inspiration for the "Lighthouse" title track, Duff told Paste : "I try to be somewhat reserved with my lyric writing and, sometimes, have a few meanings — none are wrong. But 'Lighthouse' I wrote as my wife being the lighthouse, my life. Our kids are grown, and she and I have been through so much stuff together. And then we got a worldwide pandemic that we were going through together. The way she really supported me — I had just got my own studio right before COVID started, and I had recorded two songs. I was supposed to be off on a GUNS N' ROSES tour and, of course, that all came crumbling down. I really realized, with her, in our time when you're not in contact with other people, it was just her and I thought, 'Fuck, man, we're solid .' We'd heard about people splitting up during COVID; we got drawn closer to each other during that [time]. I'm a fortunate guy to have met her, that girl Susan Holmes , when I was 32, two years into sobriety — because there was something that clicked and, hopefully, for both of us, that really has made my life make sense. Even in the darkest times, even when I'm suffering a panic attack or some other malady, I still know I have her."
Starting at just 15, McKagan has been a part of such diverse and influential bands as THE VAINS (1979), THE FASTBACKS (1980), THE LIVING (1982), THE FARTZ (1982), 10 MINUTE WARNING (1983) and LOADED (1998),along, of course, with his historic role as founding member of both GUNS N' ROSES and VELVET REVOLVER . Produced by three-time Grammy Award winner Shooter Jennings , McKagan 's 2019 second solo album, "Tenderness" , marked a powerful new chapter for the ever-evolving artist, taking on societal ills and his own personal transgressions against a rich sonic backdrop of Americana-fueled arrangements. Named by Loudwire as one of that year's "50 Best Rock Albums" and hailed by Rolling Stone in a three-and-a-half (out of four)-starred rave as "an album full of beauty and heart…It's music of conscience, heavy songs with a light touch," the album includes the volatile rocker "Chip Away" , which earned extraordinary praise from the maestro himself, Bob Dylan , who declared the song a personal favorite.
Along with his prolific musical efforts, McKagan is The New York Times best-selling author of 2011's "It's So Easy: And Other Lies" and 2015's "How To Be A Man: (And Other Illusions)" , and the co-host (with Susan Holmes McKagan ) of SiriusXM 's popular "Three Chords & The Truth" radio show on Ozzy's Boneyard (Ch. 38). McKagan currently serves as a core member of a modern-day "Wrecking Crew" alongside Grammy Award -winning musician/producer Andrew Watt and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS ' Chad Smith , recording and co-writing on such recent albums as Ozzy Osbourne 's "Ordinary Man" (2020) and two-time Grammy Award -winning "Patient No. 9" (2022) and Iggy Pop 's acclaimed "Every Loser" (2023).

Guns N’ Roses Painful New Album Bombshell Leaks
Guns N’ Roses spring/summer 2022 European tour wrapped on July 15 in Hanover, Germany. The band will pick up again in September in South America. It has been reported that the band is working on a new studio album — the first under the Guns banner since 2008’s “Chinese Democracy” and the first to feature Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan since 1993.
An image has been making the rounds on other forums. It has led some to speculate there will be no new single this year, since this is specifically marketed towards the Japanese tour.
You can check out the picture below:
The band recently released a new four-song EP, “Hard Skool”, in February. The effort, which is exclusive to the band’s official store, contains the two new songs the band released last year — the title track and “Absurd” (stylized as “ABSUЯD”) — as well as live versions of “Don’t Cry” and “You’re Crazy”.
Chris Weber reveals Guns N’ Roses drew inspiration from Aerosmith to produce a hit song
Guns N’ Roses’ starting point was the glam metal band Hollywood Rose featuring Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin, and Chris Weber. The guitarist didn’t continue with them as the singer fired him due to a stage accident before founding GN’R.
Some songs they recorded as demos were used in GN’R’s works later, and their debut studio album named ‘Appetite for Destruction,’ which they dropped on July 21, 1987, was one of them.
In the first record, Rose, Weber, and Stradlin had written and composed ‘Anything Goes,’ and in his conversation, Chris Weber opened up about the creation process. The guitar player admitted that Aerosmith’s seventh studio album, ‘Rock in a Hard Place,’ which was the record that Joe Perry didn’t contribute to and Jimmy Crespo performed the guitar parts, inspired him a lot while working on the song’s riff.
Chris Weber shared his ideas, saying:
“That riff, I was inspired by ‘Rock in a Hard Place’ by Aerosmith, which is still one of my favorite records. It was just the feel of it, the guitar playing – it was Jimmy Crespo on that record – and he just wrote such a great record. It was inspiring. I think ‘Anything Goes’ was inspired by some of the riffs I liked from that record.”
“I just wanted it to sound like that; kind of groovy, more in the pocket. So, I came up with the riffs, and Izzy wrote his part over the top because the guitars don’t play the same part. The original version has a faster verse than the one on the record, so they ended up changing that, and then it was the same chorus.”
