25 guest and NO bus

We booked Recieved a confirmation But no bus arrived. We called them, they didn’t help. They were not happy to pay our money back, but 8 calls and 12 weeks later they finally arrived! Date of experience: 2. january 2023

Cheap & Basic

I would have given this company 5* but its communication is absolutely horrendous. After booking them, I then read the bad reviews!!! I done so much panicking before my wedding that they would let me down but thankfully they never. I asked could somebody decorate the coach for us, which we were happy to pay for but nobody ever contacted me & they turned up undecorated. If you are after no communication but a basic service this is for you but I doubt I’d book them twice just because it’s probably actually easier to speak to the king of England than anyone who works here.

Unfortunately got stranded after storm Arwen in Edinburgh. We used this company for our transfer from Glasgow city centre to Edinburgh airport. Our driver John was fantastic, he was patient as we were 5 minutes late out of our brunch due to a billing issue. Super friendly and helped us out with an issue we had once he had driven off. Would definitely use this company again

Mini bus hire for day festival

Hired a mini bus for my partners birthday for a day festival. The invest team were so helpful with the initial booking and our driver was brilliant, he also came and picked us up earlier when the rain started! A really great experience. I would highly recommend booking with invest travel, we will be using them again.

Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend this company. I booked the mini bus for 11 hens to go from Glasgow to Edinburgh airport. Booking was easy and had quick replies from the company. Our driver John was amazing, he arrived on time, was friendly and very tolerant of a large hen party. He went above and beyond when 5 minutes after we got off the bus we realised the bride to be had left her phone so he done a u-turn and came back to us. Very happy with the service overall and would recommend.

Thank you for your business

What a brilliant service. Owen our driver picked us up on time and waiting to the end of the party to bring us home. Great alternative to lots of separate taxis and much more sociable. Would definitely recommed

Awful experience

Awful experience, would avoid at all cost. Driver was approx 3 hours late despite having us having a booking for months in advance. Standard of driving was very poor and plainly unsafe. We had to request a different driver for our return leg as we felt so uncomfortable and unsafe. We would’ve used public transport in place of this company after our initial journey had there not been a train strike on.

Would NOT recommend.

Would NOT recommend. Increased price before our pick up date and offered no refund or alternatives. 3 hours late for pick up. Vehicle had no air con and the brakes weren’t working properly. Driver was falling asleep at the wheel! They did send us an alternative driver for the return journey after we complained, however the vehicle was smaller and barely fit us all. They offered no compensation.

I booked an 18 seat coach to go to Haydock racecourse from Stockport. I arranged the transport several weeks before my event and I found this process very smooth. A deposit was made with the remaining to be paid on the day. The coach turned up on time, the driver was pleasant, it was clean and we reached our destination punctually. The coach was outside for us at the agreed time and the driver was happy to make 2 drops in Stockport and Manchester City centre, which was great flexibility. Overall a good experience and I would book again.

Slightly behind on the original booking time in Liverpool for a wedding event, agreed a time to leave with the Driver for an additional cash fee and then he promptly left 5mins before the agreed time. Great drivers! Highly recommended! Prompt pick up and return journey! Very helpful! Good price and great communication.

I must say I was very nervous about booking Investravel as I had read some of the reviews on here but I must say they were excellent! We had them booked from Brighton to London for 16 people after Brighton Pride and the driver was on time and was also happy for us to have a rest stop on the way. He also let us connect our music and it was a very pleasant and comfortable ride with air conditioning. As I was nervous about making sure the driver would show up, more communication on the day would have helped to reassure me but otherwise, I would highly recommend them!

Booked 16 seater, had 13 people ready to go on the day - having confirmed the day before, all arrived early for the coach. They sent 2 Toyata Pruis, that arrived late, couldn't get hold of anyone in the main office to send the correct vehicle. We ended up taking public transport and they never paid our £180 back despite endless chasing, utter scam artists, rude and have not bothered making this massive inconvenience right. AVOID!!!

Go luxe or stay budget: Comparing New York's newest luxury bus with an economy competitor

Andrew Kunesh

Editor's Note

Editor's note: This post has been updated to reflect that there are 14 seats on The Jet, not 16 as previously reported.

There's no shortage of ways to get from New York City to Washington, D.C. While we can (and often do) debate the best ways to make that well-worn, 230-mile trip, there's very little debate when it comes to determining which transportation method is generally the most cost-efficient. That distinction, without question, belongs to the bus.

Before you click away and decide the bus is too lowbrow for you, hear us out — you may be surprised by at least one of the options.

There are dozens of bus operators that can whisk you between two of America's most important cities, but not all are created equal. As with anything in the travel world, you typically get what you pay for when it comes to buses. Right now, that can mean spending as little as $20 for a standard bus ticket with FlixBus or Greyhound or $99 one-way for a trip with The Jet, a new luxury bus line.

If you are going to keep things simple and take ground transportation between the Big Apple and our nation's capital, you may be wondering if it's worth paying up for a luxury experience on such a short jump down the East Coast. Fortunately, TPG is here to help.

TPG associate web publisher Kevin Martinez and I set out last month to find out if the higher cost of The Jet is worth the splurge.

In total, we took a combined four methods of transportation on the round-trip journey between New York and D.C. But in this guide, we'll specifically look at the first leg of our trip from New York to D.C.

Here's how two of New York's newest bus options — The Jet and FlixBus — compare to one another.

Get the latest points, miles and travel news by signing up for TPG's free daily newsletter .

Luxury: The Jet

There have been many attempts to make luxury buses work in the U.S., but seemingly none have stuck.

The fact that The Jet launched during a global pandemic and has already made it this far is impressive. I was excited to give the bus a try for this trip down the coast.

The Jet does New York pickups in Hudson Yards on 33rd Street. I had some time to kill before my bus would hit the road, so I walked around Hudson Yards and grabbed a hot dog from the Hebrew National food cart down the street. It wasn't a terrible spot to pass the time.

invest travel minibus reviews

As I approached the bus, its clean paint job really stood out.

invest travel minibus reviews

Boarding was quick. I was asked to show proof of vaccination (which is no longer required, as of July 1) and my boarding pass upon entry. I was traveling light with a backpack, so I didn't need to store a bag beneath the bus.

Once on board, I immediately found myself impressed by the clean interior. It was a welcome change from the bus seat patterns we're all used to.

There are faux-wood floors, leather-upholstered seats and massive windows that let you take in the views from the interstate. The seats are spaced pretty far apart, which looks awkward but makes for a very comfortable ride.

There are only 14 total seats on the entire bus, giving it a professional-yet-peaceful vibe.

invest travel minibus reviews

I quickly settled into my window seat, and the friendly bus attendant asked me if it was my first time riding The Jet. Upon confirming it indeed was, she gave a quick overview of how the seat controls worked. They're wedged between the side of the bus and the seat and let you adjust the recline and footrest.

As I soon discovered, these are anything but old bus seats.

The Jet has outfitted the bus with "motion-canceling" seats — dubbed HoverSeats — that are active on the highway. Similar to how noise-canceling headphones counteract ambient noise, The Jet's seats counteract movement to make you feel like you're sitting still.

It's a bit jarring when they first turn on, but they prove to be very comfortable for sleeping or when you want to work on a laptop. Additionally, each seat is equipped with power outlets and USB ports.

invest travel minibus reviews

There's a tiny table that pops out of the armrest. While I initially thought the small size would be an issue, as the table is smaller than my 16-inch MacBook Pro, I found that the grippy plastic coating and ability to tilt the table forward made it surprisingly functional. I was able to very comfortably type throughout the journey, even while the bus was in motion.

invest travel minibus reviews

The bus left right on time, and we quickly made our way to the Lincoln Tunnel and New Jersey Turnpike. Once on the turnpike, the seat's motion-canceling function was activated. Then, the bus attendant came around to offer snacks and drinks.

The snack basket included brand-name items like Coca-Cola products, Nespresso coffee and a selection of beer and wine. The beer selection was basic, consisting of Modelo, Heineken and Heineken Light.

I sipped on a miniature can of Heineken and enjoyed a bag of chips and trail mix. There were also healthier options like granola bars and apple chips on offer.

invest travel minibus reviews

Everything is covered by the $99 fare, and you can ask for more refreshments whenever you'd like. Or, you can just head to the kitchen at the back of the bus to serve yourself.

invest travel minibus reviews

The bus's Wi-Fi is excellent and better than any train, bus or plane Wi-Fi I've experienced in recent years.

My speed test showed a download speed of a little less than 95.7 Mbps and an upload speed of around 10.9 Mbps. This is more than enough to stream movies, upload files or perform other business computing tasks.

invest travel minibus reviews

The last awesome perk of riding The Jet is actually the bathroom. Bus bathrooms are generally known to be, well, disgusting, but this was not the case on The Jet. It looked more like a boutique hotel bathroom, offering brass finishes and white subway tiles. Best of all: It was cleaned frequently throughout the journey.

invest travel minibus reviews

As for the overall vibe of the bus, it was quiet and peaceful. No one talked on a cellphone or had a loud conversation at any point. Many riders — myself included — were working on laptops during the drive. In many ways, it felt similar to riding in an Amtrak train's quiet car or a commuter train.

I also loved the fact that there were only 14 people on the bus, which made the whole experience feel exclusive and — dare I say — kind of luxurious.

invest travel minibus reviews

We made it to D.C. 20 minutes ahead of schedule. The bus dropped us off near downtown's Metro Center station, putting us within easy reach of all major Metro lines and plenty of cafes and restaurants. I quickly got off the bus and walked to the Metro Center station to take the Metro to my hotel.

invest travel minibus reviews

Overall, I am very impressed by The Jet.

The HoverSeat, clean bathroom, speedy Wi-Fi and attentive service made the roughly four-hour journey actually enjoyable, and I wouldn't hesitate to take it to Philadelphia or Boston from New York if service is later expanded. I think it's well worth the added cost for the extra space and comfort, especially if you're someone like me who generally despises long bus rides.

Economy: FlixBus

Unlike Andrew, I started my journey by taking the subway to Penn Station. When I arrived, I still had to walk about three blocks from the 34th Street station to the corner of 31st Street and Eighth Avenue, my bus's departure point. I eventually found the rows of green and orange buses with signs next to them indicating where they were heading and what times they were departing — though it was admittedly kind of confusing to figure out.

As I made my way toward one of the buses, a bus driver pointed me in the right direction, as I almost made the rookie mistake of getting on the wrong bus heading to Philadelphia, which would've been ... not great.

I was lost in a maze of FlixBuses and had to ask for some help, making for a less-than-ideal start.

The same bus driver didn't point me in the direction of a FlixBus but rather a white Eastern Bus, which was serving as a partner bus for FlixBus for this specific route. So despite my plans to ride a FlixBus for this test, I ultimately ended up experiencing one of its partner buses. These operate much like a regional airline assists larger carriers.

invest travel minibus reviews

I placed my small duffel bag under the bus and waved goodbye to my belongings, not having access to them again until I arrived in D.C.

As I waited in line to hop on the bus, I had to pull out my FlixBus ticket, which I had handy on my phone via a QR code — you can print it, too, if you prefer a hard copy. I showed the bus driver my QR code, and he scanned it before letting me pass. I then took my seat at 6A.

Luckily for me, no one was seated next to me, so I was able to secure a small row to myself.

As I sat down and got comfortable, I started playing around with the seat itself and took a look at the overhead storage, which was pretty sizable. I was able to lean back without bothering my back-seat neighbor.

invest travel minibus reviews

Once settled in, I connected to the bus's Wi-Fi. Although I was able to connect, the speed was not great. I could stream music and send messages, but I couldn't do anything beyond that. Stick to cellular data if you want to stream Netflix or do more than send a few messages.

Around halfway through the four-hour journey, the bus stopped at the Biden Welcome Center just outside Wilmington, Delaware. The bus driver made a general announcement indicating that we would be stopping for 20 minutes. As someone who gets antsy on long car rides, I was relieved to be able to step outside and walk around for a bit.

Once we hit the road again, traffic began to pick up, especially as we approached the D.C. metro area. Traffic is common in and around D.C., so I expected we'd encounter some congestion as we neared the end of our trip.

Before long, the bus pulled into the FlixBus stop near Union Station, I retrieved my bag from the bottom of the bus and I started exploring all that the nation's capital had to offer.

Overall, I would say my experience on the FlixBus was pretty good. While I didn't technically ride in a FlixBus, the experience was pretty similar to what you can expect on a mainline FlixBus, from what I've heard.

For a bus ride down to D.C. from New York City, it was very reasonably priced compared to other alternatives. I couldn't believe I could get to D.C. for just $22.

Bottom line

For these shorter journeys, don't discount the bus.

It's a good bargain compared to a flight — not to mention, you get to skip the hassles that come with going in and out of airports. Economy airline tickets on this route usually cost $125 to $200 each way, and if you need more space in first class, you'll be paying even more than that. So, even if you go with the luxury bus option, you're still probably paying less to drive than to fly.

FlixBus and The Jet are convenient transportation options for getting between New York City and Washington, D.C. Both start and end in city centers, so you can continue on to your final destination without adding an expensive (and sometimes time-consuming) Uber or Lyft.

Both got the job done during our test, though we think it's well worth the extra money to upgrade to The Jet if your budget allows. The added comfort and amenities make the journey truly enjoyable.

If you have work to do, you'll especially appreciate traveling via The Jet, as the internet is faster than on any other mode of transportation I've tested recently. The seats actually make it easier to type on a laptop, too, so you won't fall behind despite the change of scenery.

Trade and Travel Reviews (2024) – Is Teri Ijeoma’s Course Scam?

The Trade and Travel course is one of the best trading courses. This course teaches the nitty gritty of stock trading. The course was previously closed. But now there is an ongoing cohort program. Trade and Travel 2.0 course was launched in March 2023 and the intake of new students is currently ongoing. You can also split the payment into easy monthly payments. There is no doubt that the Trade and Travel course over-delivers. The only reason why I will not recommend the program is the hefty price and the no refund policy. Besides that, all looks good. If you are looking for a better and more affordable alternative, I recommend The Humbled Trader . With hundreds of student testimonials who are making a full-time income from trading,  The Humbled Trader definitely  is my #1 recommendation (at the moment).

Learn More about Trade and Travel

The Trade and Travel course is one of the more recent additions to the courses on stock trading, especially day trading.

The course was launched in 2017 and has only grown more popular since then.

However, “Trade and Travel” has become the subject of negative side talks with many claiming that the course creator sells the course on unrealistic promises .

It can be hard to know which side to listen to, especially if you are intent on learning how to make money trading stocks and want a course that promises and delivers.

My review of the course is out and you can read it here right now. I have gone the extra mile to separate fact from fiction and present an unbiased breakdown of everything that the course is all about.

You will learn what the Trade and Travel course is, what it contains, its target audience, reviews from past students, as well as its pros and cons .

At the end of the review, you will know if the course is a gold mine or a booby trap. Alright, let’s get started.

What is Trade and Travel Course all about?

Trade and Travel with Teri Ijeoma

The Trade and Travel course is meant to teach its users how to trade with minimal risks and losses on the stock market and make a good profit.

Upon completing the training, you should (presumably) be an excellent day trader. And that means you’ll have mastered technical analysis and chart reading.

Teri Ijeoma created the course after people who knew her and heard about her success in stock trading requested her to put them through in stock trading.

The course is mighty expensive but Teri claims that the training provided in it can fetch you an extra $200 every day.

That’s a very confident promise especially when you look at the unpredictable nature of stock trading.

Who is it for?

The Trade and Travel Course isn’t for everyone just as stock trading isn’t for everyone even if you are an entrepreneur.

Trade and Travel is intended for any who’s into stock trading or day trading as the case may be.

Hence individuals trading solo can avail themselves of it. And so can those who are trading for companies.

Let’s talk about them a little more.

Individuals Trading Solo

Individuals trading solo might be doing so with their funds. Otherwise, they might be managing other people’s funds.

In any case, solo traders often lack the funds and resources they would have had if they were trading for companies.

That’s why they need all the training they can get to minimize their risks and losses as much as possible so they can make the most of their limited resources.

To that end, Invest With Teri (or Trade and Travel) provides a clear learning structure complete with a curriculum and comprehensive lessons.

The course goes further to assist its learners by providing a community for interaction with other students at various levels of learning.

Individuals Trading for Large Institutions

These people usually have access to abundant funds and resources in the form of software that helps them stay in the know as to the latest market trends.

Nevertheless, every extra bit of knowledge is a plus and the Trade and Travel Course can provide that if Teri’s claims are anything to go by.

And of course, before you can trade for institutions, you must have more than just the basics of what stock trading is all about.

That means you can use Teri’s course to learn stock trading up to a considerable level.

Of course, before you can use Trade and Travel for your learning, you must be able to shell out the sum of money the course demands. And if you can’t, then the course is definitely not for you.

Who is Teri Ijeoma?

Teri Ijeoma is an American stock market investor and the creator of the Trade and Travel course also known as Invest with Teri.

Teri Ijeoma has a rich history starting from her descent up to her business career.

Speaking of the latter, she worked in various positions at different educational and non-profit institutions before she discovered that stock trading was the way for her.

Teri Ijeoma was born in June 1984 to a family of modest means. She liked the sciences when she was in high school but got a degree in business management from MIT.

Teri was introduced to financial markets while doing her internship at Morgan Stanley.

Not too long after, she worked with Teach for America, a non-profit organization for free access to education for all people.

All this while, Teri was still interested in stock trading and she spent much time reading books and taking courses on the subject. That was how she realized that stock trading could be her main source of income.

Long story short, Teri made a lot of money from stock trading by applying what she learned and she decided to show others how to leverage stock trading to their advantage.

And that’s how Trade and Travel were born.

What is in the course?

Trade and Travel course outline

The trade and Travel course is self-paced and comprises over 100 hours of video-based lessons.

There are seven (arguably eight) classes of education that Teri claims teach everything she should have known before investing.

You will learn technical analysis and chart reading as well as risk management for traders.

Other highlights of the course include how to make money even when the stocks are going down, how to improve your chart reading success rate and how to accelerate earnings with options.

Trade and Travel is in two parts, the starter, and the advanced (VIP) program.

The former has only four classes while the latter has all seven or eight. You get to pay the full sum of money for the complete course and if you go with the starter plan, you pay half.

Check below for the full summary of everything the course contains.

Class 1: Introduction To The Stock Market

Class 2: Risk Management For Traders

Class 3: Introduction To Technical Analysis (Revamped)

Class 4: The 7-step IWT Trading Plan

Bonus: Trade Station: Quick Start Guide

Class 5: Shorting (VIP)

Class 6: Gaps and Globex (VIP)

Class 7: Intro to Options (VIP)

Then there are bonuses exclusive to the VIP program. They are; Group Coaching Calls, Student Study Groups, and Facebook groups.

Pros of Trade and Travel Course

While Teri’s course has come under a lot of criticism (which we will get to in a moment), there are some likeable things about the course. Let’s dig them out.

Access to a Community

Trade and Travel provide a community of fellow students and traders you can always rub your minds with if you’re not clear about anything.

You also get a plaque award when you cross the $1k per day trading profit.

Lifetime Access

After paying for the course, you will have access to all its content for as long as the platform exists. Given the expensive pricing of the course, not having it would have been a real bummer.

So a good one from Teri.

Expert Support

From time to time, you will be able to consult with Teri’s team of coaches. On rare occasions, you can have one on one coaching sessions with Teri but that’s only if you are on the VIP plan.

What’s more common is group masterclass sessions with Teri for those on the VIP plan.

Cons of Trade and Travel Course

Trade and Travel course has several downsides that you can’t afford to ignore. The course specializes in day trading and day trading has its own set of negatives already.

But there is a lot more. Let’s get into it.

Paper trading

You will learn how to read market charts and do all sorts of analysis and prediction, but the majority of the trades are paper trading.

That means any result or claim in the program isn’t real money and is merely being used for illustrative purposes. To quote Teri; “ the materials and classes are for informative and illustrative purposes only and do not purport to show actual results. “

Teri’s Money Comes from Course Sales

Teri Ijeoma talks a lot in her courses about how she’s making money from trading, but she doesn’t disclose financial details from her day trading business.

Instead, she has taken to the internet to share how she became a course creator on Teachable and has made over $30,000,000 in course sales (some estimates say over $45,000,000)

In fact, Teri is Teachable’s most successful course creator.

That said, even though she might have made more money from courses than trading, she does have a lot of value to provide.

Plus, she has equally made millions from day trading.

Sky-high Pricing

For a course, $2,500 or $5,000 depending on the package you choose is exorbitant.

Not everyone can afford the high price the course costs. But thankfully, there is a plan to pay monthly.

Also, several of the students have been able to recoup their investment in six months. So while it is a con, it is still worth it (if I can recoup my money).

No Refunds

This is the only thing I dislike about the problem. You can’t get your money back if you go in for the course no matter the package you choose.

Not allowing refunds is a very serious flaw for any course or platform especially when you are charging a salary earner’s monthly pay.

But it could also be a result of students taking advantage of that to get the course for free.

Notwithstanding, I understand this can be a deal breaker for a lot of people.

Reviews from her students

Teri has over 2000 students who have crossed the $1000 per day from stock trading (as written on her website).

invest travel minibus reviews

But that is not enough to trust. I did some digging on Reddit to see what some of her students think. It was hard finding something about the program but found this:

But finally checked Youtube where I found several positive reviews.

Is Invest with Teri a scam?

Deciding whether Invest with Teri is legit or an outright scam is easier said than done.

The records show that to date, over 28,000 people have bought the Trade and Travel course and as expected, the success rate will be a mixed story.

However, numbers don’t tell the whole story and you shouldn’t fall for them.

Teri’s course has reached thousands of people because of her impressive marketing strategies and many of those people would have been taken in by Teri’s sweet marketing catchphrases.

For those that day trading worked for or is working for after using Teri’s course, you can’t rule out the role of guesswork. Besides, these people most likely had plenty of funds in their trading account to sustain their day trading and make reasonable gains.

My major gripe with Invest with Teri is that the wealth she flaunts comes mostly from her course sales. That can only mean that she is making little from day trading itself, if at all.

Besides, Teri doesn’t use any real examples in her videos. All the figures and exciting stats she quotes are merely for illustrative purposes.

She even admits that the results are not real and the training in the videos should not be taken as trading advice.

What’s the point? It’s a game of uncertainty.

On top of all that, the course carries an exorbitant price tag and the money is non-refundable. So if you later change your mind after paying for the course, you are on your own.

However, it is not a scam.

Alternative

I recommend the Trade and Travel 2.0 course but I am aware not everyone will be able to afford the $10,000 course.

It costs an arm and a leg. Hence, a need for an alternative. The best alternative I recommend so far is The Humbled Trader .

This academy covers everything you need to know about price action for trading stocks, forex, and crypto.

Plus you get access to a community of traders, weekly market analysis, and live mentorships.

With hundreds of student testimonials who are making a full-time income from trading,  The Humbled Trader definitely  has something to teach.

Before we draw the curtain on this review, I will attend to a few other questions in order to arm you with all you need to know about Invest with Teri.

How long is the trade and travel course?

The Trade and Travel course is meant to last for eight weeks. The training is split into four sections and the recommended amount of time to spend on each section is two weeks. However, you can blitz through the whole curriculum in a week.

How much is the trade and travel course?

The Trade and Travel course is billed at $2,500. The VIP upgrade is $2,500. You can pay the total of $5,000 at once or upgrade later and pay the difference.

What do trade and travel mean?

Trade and Travel explains how Teri sums up the luxury lifestyle you can finance with trading stocks.

It’s her way of saying that you can make so much money trading stocks that you can, among other things, travel anywhere around the world as often as you like.

Travel insurance is important because it can help cover the cost of unexpected medical expenses while you're traveling. It can also reimburse you for lost or stolen baggage, canceled flights, and other unforeseeable problems that may occur while you're away from home.

Simply put, there's a lot to consider.

But not all policies are created equal, and you must understand what you're covered for before you purchase a policy. This article will look in-depth at AXA Assistance USA travel insurance. We'll discuss the costs, coverage limits, exclusions, and more to help you make an informed decision about whether or not this particular travel insurance provider is right for you.

AXA Assistance USA keeps travel insurance simple with gold, silver, and platinum plans. Emergency medical and CFAR are a couple of the options you can expect. Read on to learn more about AXA.

  • Silver, Gold, and Platinum plans available
  • Trip interruption coverage of up to 150% of the trip cost
  • Emergency medical coverage of up to $250,000

AXA Assistance USA is among the best travel insurance companies . It covers the fundamentals of travel insurance, with coverage for trip cancellations, medical expenses, and emergency medical/non-medical evacuation. With three plans, AXA also offers coverage for travelers with various budgets.

It's worth noting that many important add-ons aren't available for AXA's cheapest Silver plan, such as pre-existing condition coverage, rental car add-ons, and Schengen travel insurance. Cancel for any reason coverage is also only available for AXA's most expensive Platinum plan.

Coverage Options Offered by AXA

AXA Assistance USA offers three levels of coverage: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Each plan comes with different protections and varying coverage limits, with the Silver being the most basic option and Platinum offering the most premium coverage.

Some policies might even include added coverage free of charge, such as a waiver for pre-existing conditions , which is free for Gold and Platinum plans as long as you purchase your plan within 14 days of your trip deposit.

Specialized Coverage Options

The plan you purchase will determine which add-ons are available. For example, those with a Platinum plan can add CFAR (cancel for any reason) coverage , allowing you to receive a full refund if you cancel your trip within 14 days of making the initial deposit.

Or, if you want extra protection for your rental car, depending on your AXA plan, you might be able to add a collision damage waiver (CDW). Policyholders with Gold plans can add $35,000 CDW, and those with Platinum plans can include $50,000 CDW.

If you're traveling within the Schengen Territory, which is made up of 27 European countries, you may eligible for Schengen Travel Insurance, which covers you in all 27 countries. This option is only available for Gold and Platinum travelers and coverage lasts up to 90 days.

AXA Assistance USA Travel Insurance Cost

The premium you pay will depend on various factors, including the age of the travelers, destination, and total trip costs. The average cost of travel insurance is 4% to 8% of your travel costs.

After inputting some personal information, such as your age and state of residence, along with your trip details, like travel dates, destination, and trip costs, you'll get an instant quote for the plans available for your trip. And from there, it's easy to compare each option based on your coverage needs and budget.

Now let's look at a few examples to estimate AXA's coverage costs.

As of 2024, a 23-year-old from Illinois taking a week-long, $3,000 budget trip to Italy would have the following  AXA travel insurance quotes:

  • AXA Silver: $83
  • AXA Gold: $107
  • AXA Platinum: $127

Premiums for AXA plans are between 2.7% and 4.2% of the trip's cost, well below the average cost of travel insurance. It's also relatively cheap compared to many of its competitors

AXA provides the following quotes for a 30-year-old traveler from California heading to Japan for two weeks on a $4,000 trip:

  • AXA Silver: $109
  • AXA Gold: $128
  • AXA Platinum: $153

Once again, premiums forAXA plans are between 3.6% and 3.8%, below the average cost for travel insurance.

A 65-year-old couple looking to escape New York for Mexico for two weeks with a trip cost of $6,000 would have the following AXA quotes:

  • AXA Silver: $392
  • AXA Gold: $462
  • AXA Platinum: $550

Premiums for AXA plans are between 6.5% and 9.2%, which is roughly in line with the average cost for travel insurance. This is to be expected, as travel insurance is often more expensive for older travelers.

How to Purchase and Manage Your AXA Policy

The process of purchasing an AXA policy is simple. After obtaining your quote, you'll need to decide which of AXA's three plans you want to buy. When you pay for your plan, be prepared to provide additional personal information, like your birthday, phone number, and address.

Once you finalize your purchase, you'll have a 10-day free look period, in which you can cancel your policy and get your money back.

How to File a Claim with AXA Travel Insurance

To file a claim with AXA Assistance USA, head to the claims forms online to find the appropriate form. Once you've filled out your form and gathered the required documentation, you can email them to [email protected] or send them by mail to:

If you need assistance when filing claims, AXA's claims office can be reached at 1-888-957-5015 (within the U.S.) and 1-727-450-8794 (outside the U.S.). Office hours are 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. ET on Thursdays and 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. ET on all other weekdays.

AXA's U.S. branch has few reviews on Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau — just over 20 between the two sites. Its UK branch has over 1,100 reviews, most of which are overwhelmingly negative. However, the quality of AXA Travel Insurance UK isn't necessarily indicative of its U.S. coverage.

In fact, on SquareMouth, where the majority of AXA U.S.'s reviews, reviews are generally positive. It received an average of 4.22 stars out of five across over 900 reviews. Customers reported that adjusting an AXA policy was easy and the customer service team was responsive. However, reviews on the claims process was more mixed, with spotty communication and long wait times.

AXA Assistance USA vs. AIG Travel Guard

When comparing AXA to Travel Guard , we'll look at the coverage levels from their mid-tier plans, the Silver plan and Travel Guard Preferred plan, respectively.

With Travel Guard Preferred plan, you'll get:

  • Trip cancellation coverage up to $150,000
  • Trip interruption coverage up to $225,000
  • Emergency medical coverage of $50,000
  • Coverage for baggage loss, theft, or damage up to $1,000
  • Travel delay coverage of up to $800

Comparing those Travel Guard coverages with AXA's Silver plan, you'll see that AXA's coverage limits are a bit higher. With AXA's Silver plan you'll get $100,000 in emergency medical coverage, for example. And the baggage loss coverage limit is up to $1,500.

If you're looking for greater coverage limits, AXA makes the most sense in this scenario. But premiums will also vary based on factors like the traveler's age, trip destination, and trip cost. So you'll have to run your own numbers to make a final decision.

AXA Assistance USA vs. Allianz Travel Insurance

Allianz Travel Insurance provides single-trip and multi-trip insurance for travelers who want to go abroad for an extended period of time. And, like with all insurance, the various plans have varying degrees of coverage.

Allianz Travel Insurance's most popular single-trip option is the OneTrip Prime plan, which offers:

  • Trip cancellation coverage up to $100,000
  • Trip interruption coverage up to $150,000
  • Emergency medical coverage for $50,000
  • Coverage for baggage loss, theft or damage up to $1,000
  • Travel delay coverage up to $800

Looking at AXA's mid-tier Silver plan, you'll see that, again, AXA offers more coverage for emergency medical and baggage loss, theft, or damage than Allianz Travel Insurance. That said, if cost is an essential factor for you, you'll have to get quotes using your personal trip information to make an informed decision.

Read our Allianz Travel Insurance review here.

AXA Assistance USA vs. Credit Card Travel Insurance

Already have a great travel credit card, like the Chase Sapphire Reserve or American Express Platinum? Some of the standard coverages, such as rental car insurance, may be included in the card you already have. It's a good idea to research the terms of your credit card's travel protection before purchasing a separate travel insurance policy.

If you're driving to your destination and don't have any non-refundable trip expenses, the coverage from your credit card may be enough. Another time it might work is if you have health insurance covering you while abroad and you're in good health without worrying about possible medical costs.

It's essential to remember that credit card coverage is usually secondary. This means you'll have to file a claim with the other applicable insurance before filing a claim with your credit card company.

Read our guide on the best credit cards with travel insurance here.

Why You Should Trust Us: How We Reviewed AXA Assistance USA

We researched AXA by evaluating its travel insurance plans compared to other plans from the top travel insurance companies. The aspects we looked at included, but were not limited to, different coverage options, claims limits, what is covered, available add-ons, and extra services for policy holders.

What's important when choosing a policy isn't just the price — it's making sure you're getting adequate coverage that meets your needs without breaking the bank. Filing a claim should also be easy and stress-free if you ever have to use your policy.

AXA Assistance USA FAQs

If you're diagnosed with COVID-19 before a trip and need to cancel, AXA may cover your expenses. Additionally, a COVID-19 diagnosis during a trip may be covered under AXA's medical expense, trip interruption, and trip delay benefits. Be sure to review your policy to ensure coverage details.

While you may extend your coverage in certain circumstances, such as extended hospitalization, and update your travel dates prior to your departure, you can't extend AXA travel insurance plans while you're traveling.

AXA's Gold and Platinum plan cover pre-existing medical conditions as long as you purchase your policy within 14 days of your initial trip deposit. AXA's Silver plan does not cover pre-existing conditions and has a 60-day look-back period.

You can download AXA claims forms on its website and email them to [email protected].

AXA isn't the most flexible travel insurance company and isn't great at specializing, but it offers comprehensive general coverage. Its prices aren't significantly more expensive or cheaper than its competitors.

This trip was excellent both for the tour itself and the tour guide. We booked the golden circle tour, pick up was on time, each stop had ample opportunity to have a good look around, and although they changed the hot springs location the week before, we received a partial refund for what we’d over paid, and the replacement location was amazing. Highly recommend booking your trips with these guys

Northern lights tour by a great company and even better tour guide!

We booked a generic northern lights tour. The booking experience was straightforward and easy to complete. Our first tour was cancelled due to poor visibility, but we rebooked for the next day (at no cost), and were actually issued a free upgrade to a small group tour. The bus showed up outside the hotel at exactly the correct time and collected us. Our tour guide, Ody, made this the absolute best experience. He was knowledgable, friendly and knew all of the good locations to spot the northern lights (and we always got to each spot first!). I couldn’t recommend Ody enough, he was a great tour guide and made sure everyone was okay (as it was -17 degrees!), and managed to get us to a perfect spot to photograph the northern lights in front of the most perfect mountain range! It was our final night in Iceland and Ody ensured we ticked off this from our bucket list. Request Ody as your tour guide if you can!

Amazing Time in Iceland Thanks to Bus Travel

We went on 3 tours with Bus Travel Iceland in Sept 23, Golden Circle, South Coast & Northern Lights. We chose Bus Travel after careful consideration, they had the best reviews & were also competitively priced. Artis was our guide for The Golden Circle Tour. She was enthusiastic, knowledgeable & even made an extra stop for a photo op with some Icelandic horses. Anna was our guide for the South Coast Tour. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The weather took a turn for the worse this day, but Anna wanted to persevere so we didn’t miss out. We really felt the power of the Icelandic weather at Reynisfjara Beach with powerful wind & rain, & Anna made the tough decision to miss Sólheimajökull glacier which was disappointing but she had our safety in mind. Our Northern Lights Tour was cancelled twice due to cloud cover. It went ahead on our last night there, Gary was our guide. We waited for hours losing hope, but Gary kept holding on and looking out for us, he really wanted us to see them. Finally we did, an amazing display! Big shout out to the drivers too, especially on The South Coast Tour during tricky weather conditions. Highly recommend Bus Travel Iceland! Thanks for an amazing time.

I didn’t received my refund

I had a good experience with the trips. But my problem is that I canceled a trip and they said that to me they were going to refund me in 14 days, but I never received my refund.

Best travel company in Iceland

I went on two excursions with Bustravel Iceland in Northern Iceland, dyjandi tour and lake myvatn and godafoss tour. Both my guides, Rock and Vik were very funny and very knowledgeable about all things Iceland. What stood out to me about this conpany is they went back and were in contact with travellers that were confused about pick up, which unfortunately happened to me later with a different conpany and I missed the tour and wasn't refunded. I highly rate this company, and it was my favourite company out of three whilst in Iceland.

ROBERTA, amazing tour guide!

I have just used this company for seeing the Northern Lights. I don't know how it's in general, but I can tell that my night was great because of Roberta, the tour guide. Roberta tried her best to lift everyone's mood despite people weren't very collaborative. She offered too a very detailed explanation of why we can see the Northern lights. She also knows what apps are more accurate (great research) and informed the passengers how to set the phone of different brands to get the best photos of the Northern lights. On top of that, Roberta had songs selected to call the Northern Lights. The one that I'll never forget is her modification of the song Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! A man after midnight. She changed cleverly a man after midnight for Aurora after midnight. Very catchy indeed.

Golden Circle Small Group Tour

We had a great experience on our Golden Circle Small Group Tour with our guide Howzer. He was by far our best guide of the various tours we took. He was a great source of information about all we saw, and provided a lot of history about what we eere seeing. It was a awesome experience.

Fantastic trip with one of the best guides we've ever experienced

We did the golden circle tour with the secret lagoon we highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to experience the amazing golden circle with a super guide The guide tom/thommas had a good sense of humour from the start till the end We went to see what was planned and he added a twist by taking us to a farm where we could pet horses and sheeps There were plenty of time to see all the different stops - so very chill On the road the guide told a lot about Iceland with a sense of humour - mainly aimed at the Danes and Irish people - of course with a glimpse in his eye Our car broke down on the way home but again our guide came to the rescue and flagged down passing car to get us to a cafeteria with beer, food and a wc So we highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to experience the amazing golden circle with a super guide

Golden Circle Day Trip with Kerid, excellent!

Golden Circle Day Trip with Kerid Volcanic trip was great We enjoyed it immensely usual faffing about to get all on correct busses for trips, they did well to herd us wandering tourists to correct ones. Guide was very good, She had great knowledge and informed us well damp weather for the Kerid Volcanic stop but was good, (I even managed an online chat there from mobile) the sun came out for the rest of the day Geysir’s spouts was good - lunch was good and had time before we were on to next stop Gullfoss waterfall was excellent - site layout great Thingvellir was also excellent - would have liked a bit longer there (maybe 30 mins more) We were on short trip and covered one of our days, well worth doing it

Misled me over the pick up

Misled me over the pick up. Paid over £18 for a pick up which took us round the corner to the coach. The coach was less than 200 m from our hotel. Contacted company and they say because we took the pick up that they will not reimburse but we didn’t know that the coach was less than 200 m from our hotel. They did and took our money and refuse to reimburse. How can they charge over £18 (3150 approx) for a journey that wasn’t needed. Also they had over subscribed the trip and a woman was left without a seat so we had to wait till it was sorted. Not a very professional company as they would not give me their complaints procedure or an independent complaints email to contact. Beware as mid leading for your money.

Rude driver/tour guidewe had to sit at back of bus due to all individuals sitting alone so there was only one two seat left, (which if this was not available I would have had to have done 10hours without my partner, if you are a large group you will not be sat together) the they shouted at us to hurry up getting off. I thought we could actually enjoy the places and do the walks but but you can't as you don't have time. For example we were told not walk up the stairs at waterfall and then you have 30mins nins just stood at bottom of waterfall despite bus driver rushing you off Aroan was south coast tour bus driver and Joseph the tour guide wouldn't recommend get a car and enjoy the experiences yourself

THE BEST TOUR COMPANY EVER

BEST TOUR COMPANY EVER. I had booked an expensive 14hr tour through a DIFFERENT operator , Reykjavik Excursions who didn't collect me at stated time 7am, nor did they try calling me by 730am to ask where I was. Bus travel Iceland (a different tour company who I am reviewing here) just so happened to show up at 7 at designated pick up to collect their own passengers for same trip destination. The driver and guide, TOM, basically took pity on me and said don't worry, you're coming with me. Free of charge, 14 hours brilliant tour to the glaciers. Yes his company lost money as my ticket was with other place , but he showed genuine kindness. As a thank you, I am writing this positive review and also will be booking the next 2 tours with this company whilst I am here so at least they can have my money. Thank you Tom (the guide) for rescuing the day and money for a foreigner. That aside, he is a great guide, entertaining and funny 🙂 - by Tom, from London

Golden Circle Tour 👍

Fantastic Tour of the Golden Circle. Monika was our guide and Michael was our driver. Monika is the best guide I have ever had on a tour. So informative and so knowledgable about every aspect of our tour. It was clear to see she is passionate about what she does. Michael was a very careful driver and we felt safe for the whole tour. The tour itself was amazing and we got to see quite a lot within the 8 hours. Thank you Monika and Michael for a wonderful experience.

Great Company, and even greater tours!

Me and my girlfriend were lucky enough to have amassed enough money to go to Iceland, and one of the first things we wanted to do was to see the Northern Lights. We knew we were in the ''prime'' season to see them, due to research made before departing. Therefore, it was just a matter of choosing a company that could take us out, with locals or guides who were as eager, if not more, to find some Northern Lights. And my oh my were we glad we chose Bustravel Iceland. After a long night of learning about the phenomenon we drove out into the night, and even though we were eager, no Northern Lights came that tour, but have no fear, for Bustravel Iceland is here. They offered a tour, free of charge, since we didn't happen to see any Northern Lights, so when we came back to the hotel we swiftly wrote to them, and had another tour ready to go a mere 2 days later. And while it was sad that we didn't see it the first time around, we weren't even that mad about it, because we had an enjoyable trip round the Southern Iceland, with hot chocolate and crackers to keep the warmth while gazing upwards to the sky, looking for some lights.

Did the south tour with Monika

Did the south tour with Monika. Scenery was beautiful. Monika kept it entertaining and humorous- it didn’t feel like she was just reading from a script which we found on some of the other tours. Really enjoyed it. Thanks!

Our tour guide got lost!

I booked a volcano tour through BusTravel Iceland. This tour was painfully disorganized at best, and legitimately dangerous at worst. It was advertised as a 5-hour sunset tour, and we were picked up around 6:45pm. Around 40 minutes was wasted at the start of the tour stopping at a convenience store and then stopping at bathrooms for a second bathroom break shortly after. Once we finally made it to the volcanic site, we parked in a remote parking lot and then hiked to a closer lot.. No clue why we did not park there to start with. Our tour guide then proceeded to GET LOST and hike 30 minutes uphill before he realized we were on the wrong path. There was one tour guide for at least 50 people and he had no way of projecting his voice or making announcements. After wasting an additional 20+ minutes backtracking to the start, we started on the correct route. Once we reached the first sight of hardened lava, part of the group wandered off and did not rejoin the group for at least 15 minutes. The tour guide gave up on waiting for them and continued on, so I’m uncertain if they ever did rejoin the group. The hike was grueling and by the time we made it to the peak, it was past 11pm and pitch black outside so we could not see anything. Thus, I didn’t get a single photograph and did not see any lava. The headlamp that was provided to my husband then began to die, so we hiked down the volcano with almost no visibility and the group quickly became splintered. The tour guide was nowhere to be seen during the hike back, so it became the blind leading the blind as the group at the head of the pack eventually found their way back to the bus in a remote parking lot across a moss field. There did not appear to be a final headcount and people were missing from their seats on the bus when we departed after the tour guide caught up 20 minutes later. We did not leave the volcanic site until after midnight and did not make it back to our drop off location until almost 2am, so it was absolutely not a “5 hour excursion and 1 hour hike.” Nothing about this trip was correctly advertised and it was extremely negligent. I would absolutely never trust this tour company again and their guides have zero knowledge and zero safety protocols in place. They have also ignored my inquiries and concerns.

They messed up the order, sent a small minibus and people carrier resulting us part of the party having to go via rental cars seperately, abandon critical items such as walking aids and luggage. Drivers were late (2 hours late for pick up) and didn't know the route. HQ didn't update us even when the drivers were late.
