I’ve been traveling the world for 15 years, writing, photographing, and sharing my travel stories from the first day. That means I have pretty high expectations when it comes to using digital travel diaries meant to preserve the memories of your expeditions. While journaling about your travels via a paper notebook used to be called a travel log, the more modern equivalent is an online travel journaling app. That said, even diary app is just a new way to log the most important moments of your travels—and the mundane ones too.

And no matter my online travel journal app of choice, I always, always have a small physical journal. Even if you diligently record all of the best moments of your trip in your digital travel diary app, you should also carry a small travel journal that acts as your travel log—you use it to jot down funny off-the-cuff moments, or even just mundane details.

Perhaps you press between the pages ticket stubs, a pretty flower from your world wanders, and other small memorabilia that can’t be captured in a journaling app. It becomes a place to log currency conversions you can surreptitiously glance at when haggling at a market, or jot down lists and travel plans.

I never travel without a pocket Field Notes waterproof notebook and this Moleskine travel journal —its these two things that have allowed me to share such rich details on this blog, my personal travel log that’s been running 15 years and counting.

Many journaling apps offer a free version that may just meet your needs. Often its the more sophisticated features that require a paid upgrade.

Given that you’re probably snowed under travel planning, don’t waste your time downloading every travel diary app here. To pick the right app for your travels, consider these things before you download it:

When choosing an online travel diary app, there are several factors to consider that can help you find the one that best fits your needs. Here are some tips to help you make a decision:

• Features : Review what the journaling app actually does—what are the key features these app developers believe are the hallmarks of their app? That will tell you a lot about functionality. Standard features of most digital travel diaries include: text entry, photo and video uploading, geotagging, and weather data. Decide which features are important to you and ensure that the app provides them. Maybe you want an awesome map interface because you’re hopscotching around the world for a year ? Or you’re studying abroad you might want an app with more functionality around text and photo entries.
• Platform Compatibility : Check if the digital journaling app is available on your preferred platforms, such as iOS, Android, web-based, and desktop. If you’re bringing both a smartphone and laptop on your travels , you may wan a travel diary app that seamlessly switches between the two devices.

Day One tops most of these lists because it’s actually that good—and it’s been around since 2011, so you know your travel memories are safe with this online diary app. The company has invested in a high-quality product, and updates over the years have responded to user reviews and feedback—which is enthusiastic across the board.

Its clean interface and seamless integration with iOS (both iPhones and Macs) and Android make it a joy to use. You can effortlessly capture each destination through text and photos, while popping in location data too.

Best app features : The “On This Day” functionality is neat because it doesn’t pull in the best of anything, but rather that exact moment years ago when you were on an incredible adventure out there in the world—or maybe you had logged a tasty hot chocolate at a hipster spot near that landmark you were visiting.

Either way, you’ll be transported back there in an instant and that app feature is maybe one of the strongest motivators to journal about all the big (and small) things that happen as you travel.

Cost : The free version is enough to see if you like it, but if you’re using this as your main digital travel journal then the one photo per entry restriction on free plans isn’t going to cut it. Premium is affordable though, at just under $3 per month, which buys you unlimited photos, videos, audio, drawings, and more.

If you go all in on Journey as your travel journal app, it will become your trusted companion. Rather than being a journaling app that’s great for travel, this travel-centric journaling app goes above and beyond with its extensive features.

Geotagging allows you to pinpoint the exact location of you experiences, while the inclusion of weather data and “mood” status adds depth to entries. You can import photos from your camera roll directly into journal entires, creating vivid visual narratives of your travels.

This robust app works on iOS devices and Android phones, Mac or Windows computers, and there’s even a web app! Basically, it’s an accessible and essential tool for any travel writer seeking to document their adventures with style and precision. Not only because of the features, but also because it allows multi-media exports in PDF or doc format.

It’s also a bit cheeky and has a handy guide to what Journey offers versus Day One or Daylio .

Best app features : Stand out for many will be the features that let you automatically sync and import social media content from Instagram and the like—what a time saver! And the full text editing screen is nice—you can bold, bullet, color, or link to anything you’d like right inside the text. Surprisingly, that’s not in every diary journaling app.

But one of the neater travel-focused elements are the three views for your journal—media (where you scroll by photos), map (which shows your entries pinpointed on a map of the world) and calendar (journals organized by date).

Cost : Unlike essentially all competitors, Journey offers a one time purchase license—currently $18. You can buy a membership for ~$4.20.

Daylio , billed as a “simple micro-diary app,” adds an interesting twist to a travel journaling routine. As a mood and activity tracker, it enables you to record daily experiences and emotions with ease—and without writing anything. It’s an interesting way to to reflect on how your travel adventures have impacted your overall well-being .

It’s not for the hardcore travel writer, but rather, Daylio captures the essence of the travel experiences in a uniquely personal way. It’s a good companion for those seeking to intertwine their emotional journey with their physical travels. And for those who want a more streamlined diary app with fewer features and just straight to the meat of what you want to do.

Best app features : This app is dead simple to use and can be updated in under a minute thanks to the tap interface. It’s certainly not going to be the only way you record you travels, but if you’re already planning to share extensively on a Facebook or Instagram page , then this ease of use may just ensure that you use it every day.

Cost : You could get pretty far with the free version, or upgrade for just $3 per month—only the premium version supports exporting to PDF.

4. Evernote

Real talk: The digital travel journal of your dreams may be something you’re already using. When it comes to versatile note-taking, Evernote reigns supreme. Its functionality goes beyond simple journaling, allowing the creation of multimedia-rich entries.

I’ve organized my entire life via Evernote—travel pans, stories, etc—and its robust features make a compelling case for this being one of the best journaling apps out there, period. Not just in travel, but in general.

As one of the best digital diary apps, you can update it seamlessly across iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows.

Best app features : Well, you could use Evernote to basically plan and execute your trip, in addition to using it as a digital journal. You can also stay ruthlessly organized.

Cost : The free version offers 60 MB monthly uploads, which is constraining for travelers looking for an online app where they could add photos and videos to Evernote itself—this would like be better if you’re embedding YouTube videos, for example, versus storing them in Evernote.

The Personal version offers a more reasonable 10 GB in monthly uploads, but costs $11/month for that perk. If you’re already paying for Evernote for other reasons then this could be an excellent online travel journal, otherwise some of the other ones are likely better priced for a traveler.

5. Travel Diaries

For those seeking a dedicated travel journaling app, Travel Diaries hits the mark. It’s really a truly solid option. As a travel writer, I’m captivated by its interactive features. You can easily create immersive travelogues, complete with photos, maps, and annotations.

It’s also a captivating way to showcase your journey to fellow travelers (and your family and friends back home, of course!). The ability to share your travel stories and explore others’ adventures on the platform adds a sense of community not available in the other digital travel journaling apps.

It’s available as software for web, iOS and Android, but will only work with an internet connection (either cell data or wifi)—which means this might not be the best journaling app for those going far off-the-beaten path .

Best app features : A broad range of fonts and styles allow you to design your travel diary according to your own taste, and your travel log can include itineraries, travel photos, and a traveling map. The layout as an actual travel journal is a fun and personal touch that makes it feel like your digital diary is just as capable of creativity as a blank page in front of you.

Cost : There is no free version of Travel Diaries—it’ll be a subscription for as long as you want access to your travel journal. The basic plan costs $1 a month and includes unlimited storage and is really all most travelers will need for a robust travel journal. If you want to export your stories to PDF, you’ll have to upgrade to $3 per month.

Diaro App is a reliable companion for millions of people, not just globetrotters. This comprehensive diary app offers an array of features that elevate a travel journaling experience. Sometimes the best travel journal is, well, just a great online diary that you happen to use to document your travels.

The ability to add text, photos, tags, and organize entries into folders keeps this app well-organized—you can effortlessly find specific memories or delve into specific themes from your trips. It has a map of entry locations, which is especially important for those using this as a travel journal diary.

Diaro’s sleek interface and user-friendly design make the process of documenting adventures a true pleasure. Available on web, iOS or Android devices (with cross-device syncing via Dropbox) Diaro is a go-to app for travelers who want to capture the essence of their trip with elegance and efficiency.

Best app features : The multilingual UI (30+languages) may be a real boon for those for whom English is not their native language, but the shining standout features is just how easy it is to create a robust diary accounting for all of the key moments on your trip.

Cost : The free version has robust functionality. Upgrading to Diario Pro costs $10 per month and offers more customizability.

7. Polarsteps

Polarsteps is a great travel journal app that offers automatic tracking of your journey, making it effortless to document and share your trips. With its GPS technology, the app traces your route in real-time, creating a visually appealing map of your adventure without requiring any manual input.

This feature sets Polarsteps apart from other travel journal apps, as it eliminates the need for constant updates and allows you to focus on enjoying your trip while the app takes care of recording your route—and uses minimal data and power to do so.

Its unique approach fosters collaboration, allowing friends, family, or fellow travelers to contribute to your journal. With the ability to add stories, photos, and memories, everyone can create a collective travel diary that captures the essence of your adventures.

The app goes beyond traditional journaling by integrating multimedia elements. You can include photos, videos, and audio recordings. It’s not a travel journal specifically, so you’re not going to have any of those map features the travel apps have integrated into the experience, but it could be a great option for those travel in a group, or a group of friends who just love to share their travel adventures with each other. Social sharing features make it easy to showcase your travel adventures on social media platforms or via email.

BONUS: RIP: Bonjournal

Bonjournal captured my attention many years ago for its visually stunning approach to travel journaling. As you penned your travel stories, this app transformed them into beautifully presented narratives—and it made you choose just one photo to represent your day. Which was really quite neat.

This travel journal app is no longer available! Even though other websites are still recommending it as a travel diary app, the gorgeous app that debuted more than a decade ago is no longer up and running. Instead, a new app with the same name launched in 2021—it’s not a viable alternative. This new Bon Journal diary app is glitchy and poorly rated—storing your cherished travel memories there is not a good idea.

Don’t forget a paper journal as well.

This Moleskin travel journal is well made and worth the space it will take up in your bag. There will be times you just want to put pen to paper—you’ll be glad you have an analog record of your travels too.

How to Safely Store Travel Photos and Videos

These travel journaling apps are a terrific way to document your journey for personal memories, and to share with others. Although some long-term travelers create a travel blog to record their trips, using a travel diary instead is a great alternative.

You get amazing functionality and the ability to share your travel stories without the hassle of running a blog—which can get pricey and generally lacks the ability to share some stories privately with family, or keep other journal entries entirely private.

One thing all of these apps have are general constraints on how you upload, store, and present your travel photos and videos. Although some of these apps offer paid subscriptions with unlimited uploads, you’re likely safer if you store your actual travel photos elsewhere, too. Here’s a quick review of other places you can store travel photos, and the perks of using them in addition to, or instead of, a travel diary app.

• Facebook pages : Rather than use your personal profile, consider setting up a Facebook page for your trip—then you can share unlimited stories, photos, and videos. And you’re creating and sharing in a place where it’s likely your family and friends are already hanging out.
• Instagram : This is a great way to share photos, but videos and stories are a little more constrained on this platform. This might be a good option in addition to a digital travel diary.
• SmugMug : If you need a place to both store and display all of your travel photos, SmugMug is a great option. I’ve had an annual plan for more than a decade and it offers unlimited storage for all of my photos from all over the world for $88 per year. And it’s totally customizable—you can create gorgeous albums on a custom domain name if you own one.
• Google Drive : If you just need a backup solution without the need to share then Google Drive is a good option (I find Google Photos a chore to use). It’s just $2 a month for 100GB of cloud storage.

I wanted a hard cover Journey Log, and that is exactly what I received.

An excellent a hard cover journey log. The hard cover journey logs bindings last much longer then the soft cover. I have every journey log from birth a total of 14 for my A/C and they are all in perfect condition as they are all hard cover.

Very good aircraft log book. Great, easy layout. Highly recommended.

Im actually more proud of this thing than I should be. The one that came with my plane had its first entry in 1882 when it came to Canada. In the interests of preserving the data in there, I retired it and replaced it with this one. The book is of a high quality. The pages are thick, and the hard cover feels like it can take some abuse and go many years. The pages look to be bound very well. It contains the pertinent law about documentation required in the log inside as a handy reference. It has cut down on documenting non essential items and includes a hobs time which I like. It also has a spot at the bottom of each page couple for tracking up coming Maintenence. This should last another 36 years!

It came with damage to the bottom binding. It was probably something that happened during shipping, but there should have been better protective packaging. I am not impressed.

There was once a huge controversy over what exactly constitutes a journey logbook. Everybody agreed you had to have one, but what is it? The original requirement was set out in 1944 without a precise definition. ICAO Annex 6 changed all that a few years ago, but we are still left with a decision on where the book should be kept.

The only document we have that comes even close to satisfying all the requirements are the Flight and Maintenance Log that we complete for every flight. You will have to examine your version to see if it also satisfies the ICAO.

As for how long you need to keep it on the aircraft, that's where it gets tricky. More on that below.

The 1944 Chicago Convention on Civil Aviation

There shall be maintained in respect of every aircraft engaged in international navigation a journey log book in which shall be entered particulars of the aircraft, its crew and of each journey, in such form as may be prescribed from time to time pursuant to this Convention.

Updated guidance for commercial operators

11.4.1. The aeroplane journey log book should contain the following items and the corresponding roman numerals:

• Aeroplane nationality and registration.
• Names of crew members.
• Duty assignments of crew members.
• Place of departure.
• Place of arrival.
• Time of departure.
• Time of arrival.
• Hours of flight.
• Nature of flight (private, aerial work, scheduled or non-scheduled).
• Incidents, observations, if any.
• Signature of person in charge.

11.4.2 Recommendation.— Entries in the journey log book should be made currently and in ink or indelible pencil.

11.4.3 Recommendation.— Completed journey log book should be retained to provide a continuous record of the last six months’ operations.

Paragraph 11.4.3 recommends the journey log book be "retained" but doesn't say it has to be on the aircraft. I think if you have electronic access to them you should be okay.

• The aircraft journey log, or equivalent, should include the following items, where applicable:
• aircraft nationality and registration,
• name(s) of crew member(s),
• duty assignments of crew member(s),
• place of departure,
• place of arrival,
• time of departure,
• time of arrival,
• hours of flight,
• nature of flight (scheduled or non-scheduled),
• incidents, observations, if any,
• signature of person in charge.
• The information, or parts thereof, may be recorded in a form other than on printed paper. Accessibility, usability and reliability should be assured.
• 'Journey log, or equivalent' means that the required information may be recorded in documentation other than a log book, such as the operational flight plan or the aircraft technical log.
• 'Series of flights' means consecutive flights, which begin and end:
• within a 24-hour period;
• at the same aerodrome or operating site or remain within a local area specified in the operations manual; and
• with the same pilot-in-command/commander of the aircraft.

Updated guidance for general aviation

2.8.2 A journey log book shall be maintained for every aeroplane engaged in international air navigation in which shall be entered particulars of the aeroplane, its crew and each journey.

2.8.2.2. Recommendation.—The aeroplane journey log should contain the following items:

• aeroplane nationality and registration;
• crew member names and duty assignments;
• departure and arrival points and times;
• purpose of flight;
• observations regarding the flight; and
• signature of the pilot-in-command.

Particulars of the aircraft, its crew and each journey shall be retained for each flight, or series of flights, in the form of a journey log, or equivalent.

We scan every flight log and have it electronically available at our home base on a full time, secured, network drive. We can download any log from anywhere with an Internet connection. We only carry enough past flight logs on the aircraft to prove a maintenance airworthiness release, a valid VOR check, and an RVSM check. Will this pass muster? I think so. I have been SAFA ramp checked and the subject never came up. I shared the stage at an NBAA International Operators Conference with a SAFA inspector and asked the question directly. The inspector agreed that an "electronic journey log book" will be sufficient.

(b) An operator may be permitted not to keep an aeroplane journey log, or parts thereof, by the Authority if the relevant information is available in other documentation.

(c) An operator shall ensure that all entries are made concurrently and that they are permanent in nature.

How Nancy Pelosi became one of America's richest and most powerful politicians

• Nancy Pelosi rose through the ranks of Congress to eventually become the first female House speaker.
• It was a monumental achievement for the California lawmaker and native daughter of Baltimore.
• And in many ways it was fueled by her early political instincts and her role as a full-time mother.

In many ways, Nancy Pelosi's political ascent was no surprise.

Decades before Pelosi become the first female House speaker in US history, she was Nancy D'Alesandro, the daughter of the highly influential Thomas D'Alesandro Jr., who served as a Maryland congressman and then as mayor of Baltimore from 1947 to 1959.

Nancy D'Alesandro was born in Baltimore on March 26, 1940, the youngest of seven children (and the only girl) in an Italian-American family that in the city was synonymous with public service.

She graduated from the Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore in 1958 before attending Trinity College in Washington, DC, where she earned a bachelor's degree in political science. While in college, she attended President John F. Kennedy's 1961 inaugural address and even interned on Capitol Hill alongside now-Maryland Rep. Steny Hoyer, who rose from the state legislature to become the US House majority leader and one of the chamber's most respected legislators.

In September 1963, Nancy D'Alesandro married Paul Pelosi , whom she met in college. They then had five children: Alexandra, Jacqueline, Nancy Corinne, Christine, and Paul Jr. Along with her husband, Pelosi has an estimated net worth of $46 million .

In 1969, the Pelosi family would eventually move to San Francisco, where the future speaker reveled in being a full-time mother, a role that she said prepared her for her rise in California politics and on the national stage.

"That's one of the hardest things," Pelosi said of parenting in a 2019 interview with The Washington Post . "Makes going to work look easy, doesn't it?"

San Francisco, which has traditionally been the center of political gravity in California politics, was a magnet for the counterculture in the 1960s and 1970s.

These movements had a major influence on the liberalism that would come to define the region.

During this era and in later years, Pelosi cut her teeth in the city's Democratic politics. In 1976, she became a Democratic National Convention committee member. From 1981 to 1983, she chaired the powerful California Democratic Party. And in June 1987, she was first elected to the House in a special election to succeed the late Rep. Sala Burton.

Rise to the Top

In 2003, Pelosi became the first woman to lead a political party in Congress, serving as House Minority Leader.

Over the next three years, she worked fervently to regain a majority in the House of Representatives, recruiting Democratic candidates from across the ideological spectrum and raising millions of dollars.

In 2006, Democrats won control of the House after a 12-year drought, making Pelosi the first female speaker ever . She would assume the speaker's gavel in January 2007.

When President Barack Obama took office in 2009, Pelosi was instrumental in shepherding his legislative agenda through Congress, which notably included the Affordable Care Act, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.

After Democrats lost the House majority in November 2010, she stayed on as minority leader until the party once again regained control of the lower chamber in 2018.

Pelosi served as a foil to President Donald Trump's conservative agenda during his final two years in office, even ripping up his February 2020 State of the Union speech after he appeared to snub her handshake prior to the televised address.

Once Joe Biden assumed the presidency in 2021, Pelosi once again used her political acumen to not only move the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan through the House, but also the bipartisan infrastructure legislation and the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. All were signed into law by Biden.

After the GOP narrowly flipped the House in 2022, Pelosi stepped down from leadership , which meant that for the first time in 20 years, she was no longer leading the party's caucus in the lower chamber.

She was succeeded as House Democratic leader by Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York .

But Pelosi has remained active as a lawmaker and as a surrogate for Democrats as they aim to regain control of the House in November 2024.

The congresswoman, now 84 years old and a recent recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom , is running for reelection in the fall, adding another chapter to a career that has endured in Washington for nearly four decades.

The adventure game launched in December for testing and debuted in March. It’s getting a big update with new story content, game modes, battle mechanics, and much more, including two new playable heroes.

In this new season, players continue their journey as Magister Merlin, teaming up with a mysterious young companion in a new desert region. The player is drawn to the desert when rumors of a false Merlin roaming the region come to light. They’ll need to work with the desert’s Mauler tribe to uncover the truth as well as take part in the tribe’s Warsong Festival. There’s a rumor going around of copy of Merlin wandering around.

New map area: The Ashen Wastes

The desert landscape has a number of unique features, characterized by vast dunes stretching endlessly that resemble the waves of the sea, stretching endlessly. The direction and strength of the wind determine the shape and location of these dunes. The AFK Journey art team deliberately designed dynamic environments to simulate the most authentic desert ambiance, allowing players to feel the waves of sand as if they were in the desert.

New characters: Alsa and Soren

Alsa is a mage specializing in earth-based magic. With her skills, she can curl into a ball for both defense or offense. Soren is a fierce rogue, with strong warrior, with valuable knockback abilities and nimble reflexes on the battlefield.

Seasonal progression system: Magic Charms

Magic Charms offer a new way for players to develop their heroes. This feature is seasonal, meaning any charms players acquire during the Song of Strife season won’t work beyond that season. These charms provide heroes with stat bonuses and special effects. The higher the quality of the charms, the stronger the stat bonuses and effects.

New game mode: Dura’s Trials

Dura’s Trials is a new PvE mode where players can earn resources for Magic Charms. Each day, players will be able to challenge different types of trials, each boosting specific heroes and offering random charm drops. As they progress through the trials, players have a better chance of earning higher quality charms.

Seasonal skills

Each season brings unique seasonal skills that provide unique experiences. Players can unlock a hero’s seasonal skill once they reach Season Level 51, and enhance it by leveling up the hero throughout the season. Players’ season level and their progress in other seasonal modes will be factored in when determining the rewards they receive at the end of the season.

Supreme arena

Supreme Arena is open every Wednesday through Sunday. Players can compete against fellow Magisters from their District and win best-of-three matches to climb the ranks. Players can keep an eye out for special deployment tiles on the battlefield to gain a tactical advantage over your opponent.

The new Song of Strife update will be available for AFK Journey servers that have been active for 42 days. To unlock this and all future seasons, players need to reach Resonance Level 240, clear all AFK Stages, and complete the quest “The Last Leg”. Once they’ve gained access to the content, players can pick up the main quest in Holistone.

AFK Journey is now available for free on Windows PCs via the official website and on iOS and Android devices via the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The singer and talk show host shared more about her weight loss journey.

Kelly Clarkson is opening up about her recent weight loss , sharing that a moment where she did not recognize herself on screen prompted her to make changes.

During an interview with Whoopi Goldberg on a recent episode of her talk show, "The Kelly Clarkson Show," the singer said she was watching a taped performance of herself singing and didn't recognize herself on the TV screen.

"We were in my house in New York, like, watching it," the 42-year-old said, "and then all of a sudden I paused and I was like, 'Who the f--k is that?' I swear to god, it sounds insane."

Clarkson added that even her close circle of friends and colleagues hadn't noticed her weight gain, saying, "I looked at my manger ... and she was like, 'I'm kind of as shocked as you.' I think [it's] because your people are with you the whole time, so it's gradual. You don't even realize."

The mom-of-two shared with Goldberg that at the time, she weighed over 200 pounds.

"I never saw that," she said of her weight. "I was never insecure about it. I was happy ... I just did not see that."

Clarkson continued, "I maybe should have known because I watched that show and I was like, 'Any second now, she is going to die.'"

After Goldberg shared with Clarkson that she had lost a significant amount of weight by using a medication for weight loss, the name of which she did not disclose, Clarkson revealed that she too had been on a medication.

Kelly Clarkson opens up about weight loss: 'I've been listening to my doctor'

Clarkson also did not share the name of the medication she was taking, but said she was advised to take it by her doctor.

"My doctor chased me for like two years, and I was like, 'No, I'm afraid of it,'" Clarkson said of her initial reluctance to taking a medication. "I already have thyroid problems. I was afraid."

Clarkson said the medication she is on, which she said is not Ozempic , is one "that aids in helping break down the sugar, which obviously my body doesn't do well."

Over the past two years, drugs like Ozempic , Mounjaro and others that can lead to weight loss have become more widely available and skyrocketed in popularity .

Both Ozempic and Mounjaro are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, but some doctors prescribe the medication "off-label" for weight loss, as is permissible

Wegovy and Zepbound, which contain the same active ingredients as Ozempic and Mounjaro, respectively, are each FDA-approved as a weight loss management treatment for people with obesity, or those who are overweight with at least one related underlying condition, such as high blood pressure. Unlike Zepbound, Wegovy is also FDA-approved to help children aged 12 years and older with obesity.

The medications work, in part, by reducing blood sugar, slowing down the movement of food through the stomach, creating a sense of fullness and curbing appetite, thereby causing weight loss.

In an interview with People published earlier this year, Clarkson said she had lost weight by following the advice of her doctor.

"I eat a healthy mix," Clarkson said of her diet, which she also said focuses heavily on protein. "I dropped weight because I've been listening to my doctor -- a couple years I didn't."

Clarkson also told People that she focused on changing her lifestyle -- prioritizing healthy eating and exercise -- after moving cross-country from Los Angeles to New York City.

"Walking in the city is quite the workout," Clarkson said, adding that she has also embraced other wellness trends, including infrared saunas and cold plunges.

Nneka Ihim Is Leaving RHOP After One Season: "At This Point..."

Of the decision, the attorney said that there's been a change to her "ultimate priority."

Amid a shift in her priorities, Nneka Ihim is leaving The Real Housewives of Potomac .

The attorney, who joined the cast on Season 8 , confirmed her departure in a statement to PEOPLE . “I will not be returning for season 9 of  RHOP ," she told the outlet about leaving the show after one season as a 'Wife.

Why is Nneka departing RHOP ?

Nneka stated that she's focused on growing her family with her husband, Dr. Ikenna Ihim. "At this point, after multiple failed fertility procedures , I have decided to make expanding my family my ultimate priority," the Potomac resident said.

She then thanked her fans for their love and support as she navigated both intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) on the show.

"Thank you to the fans [who] have supported me along the way this season, especially regarding my difficult IUI turned IVF journey, and the stigma surrounding infertility," she continued. "All of the kind remarks have genuinely kept me uplifted and have fueled my determination to continue to share my story."

Cast Departures After  RHOP Season 8

Nneka isn't the only cast member who decided to embark on a new chapter following the RHOP Season 8 reunion. 

Candiace Dillard Bassett , who also shared her fertility journey on Season 8, confirmed her exit from the series in a PEOPLE statement shortly after the finale aired.

Shortly after exiting RHOP , Candiace confirmed that she is expecting her first child with husband Chris Bassett .

Just a few weeks after Candiace shared her news, original cast member Robyn Dixon also announced that she was leaving the show. She revealed the news during the April 15 episode of the podcast she co-hosts with Gizelle Bryant .

Not Alone: Teen's journey with rare disorder inspires book

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas -- Carrie Durso is living with a painful medical condition that causes her joints to dislocate.

"I have Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which is a rare connective tissue disorder that can best be described as writing a bike with all of the screws loose," Carrie explained.

The condition can be debilitating to those with a severe form of the disorder, but the 17-year-old is not letting it slow her down. Carrie has been part of several organizations including marching band and Girl Scouts.

Her mother, Lauren, said she is very proud of her daughter, "she has handled this remarkably well for a kid her age."

Lauren also shared that her family was lucky to have been quickly referred to the doctors at Texas Children's Hospital.

"Especially Doctor Torres, who really put her on a path to finding out what was going on and making sure she understood that this was valid and that she had real symptoms that were not in her head," Lauren said.

Carrie now wants other children fighting rare illnesses know they are not alone. She has written a book " You're Not Alone Little Zebra " to help empower other children with chronic illnesses.
