Lil Nas X Announces Long Live Montero , His First Headlining Tour
The two-month trek will take him across North America and Europe.
It’s hard to grasp that Lil Nas X, who’s seemingly been famous for a long while, has never headlined his own tour. Coming up during a pandemic, the star has brought down countless award show stages but virtually none of his own. That’ll be changing this fall as he makes his touring debut with Long Live Montero , his first-ever tour that will take him across North America and Europe to ballrooms and auditoriums along the way.
Long Live Montero will kick off its two-month run in September at The Fillmore in Detroit. While there aren’t many musicians who can claim filling out New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on their first tour, Lil Nas X will be one of the few as he plays the iconic venue on September 20, alongside other legendary settings across the U.S.
At the top of November, Lil Nas X will venture to Europe for the last leg of his tour. He’ll have performances in the Netherlands, Germany, the U.K., France, and Belgium, before ending his run in Barcelona, Spain at the Sant Jordi Club.
Long Live Montero will be in support of his 2021 debut album, Montero , and the slew of excellent singles it spawned including “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” “Industry Baby,” and “That’s What I Want.” For everything we know about attending Long Live Montero , including the full tour schedule, dates, and how to score tickets, read on.
Where is the 2022 Long Live Montero tour playing?
For his touring debut, X will be playing theaters, ballrooms, and auditoriums throughout the U.S. and Europe. His international run kicks off on September 6 in Detroit, MI at The Fillmore, and concludes on November 17, in Barcelona, Spain at the Sant Jordi Club.

Lil Nas X Heading Out on First-Ever Tour ‘Long Live Montero’ in Support of Debut Album
By Larisha Paul
Larisha Paul
Lil Nas X is gearing up for his first headlining tour as the 20-date Long Live Montero North American and European trek kicks off at Detroit’s The Fillmore on Sept. 6.
With stops in Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles and more, the tour will span through November where Lil Nas X will perform shows in Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Paris, among others, before wrapping in Barcelona, Spain on November 17.
General sale for the North American leg of the tour will begin on Friday, April 29 at 10 a.m. local time. On-sale for European dates begins Friday, May 6th at the same time. A pre-sale via Cash App will start April 27 at 10 a.m. ET and wrap April 28 at 10 p.m. ET.
Lil Nas X shared Montero in September 2021 featuring the controversy-stirring singles “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and “Industry Baby” featuring Jack Harlow. Always one to embrace the squabbling, Lil Nas X brought a literal chorus of haters when he performed both tracks, and “Dead Right,” as part of a medley at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
While Lil Nas X will be touring in support of Montero this year, back in March he appeared to tease an imminent follow-up after he returned to Twitter following a three-month absence. Nas X described the hiatus as “maternity leave,” and in the midst of a characteristically wild posting spree shared screenshots of two songs, “Late to the Party” featuring Youngboy, and “Down Souf Hoes,” featuring Saucy Santana,” and asked fans which song they wanted first. When asked if the tracks were going to appear on a deluxe edition of Montero , Lil Nas X said that he’s “close to finished” on a new album.

Lil Nas X Announces First World Tour for “Everyone Except Gay People”
By James Factora
Lil Nas X hive is eating good today, with the singer’s announcement that he is set to embark on his first world tour.
This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.
The “Industry Baby” singer announced his upcoming “Long Live Montero” tour via a slickly-produced video that he shared to Twitter on Tuesday morning. In a booming voiceover that played alongside a montage of iconic moments from his music videos and red carpet appearances, Lil Nas declares that “Everyone is allowed… except gay people.” Naturally, this was followed by clips of him dancing naked in a men’s locker room in the “ Industry Baby ” music video and making out with a background dancer at the BET Awards.
“All of u better come or I will cry on Instagram live,” Lil Nas X wrote in the tweet accompanying the video.
The tour comes a month after the end of Lil Nas X’s three month social media hiatus , during which all of his accounts went dark. When he returned to the Internet in mid-March, he joked that he had been on “maternity leave” following the release of his debut album, Montero . Between dropping one of the buzziest albums of 2021, announcing a world tour for the first time, and teasing new music , Lil Nas X’s break was well-deserved. But in his own words, we’re so happy he’s back on the internet.
The Long Live Montero tour will kick off in Detroit, Michigan on September 6, with dates across the U.S., Canada, and Europe before concluding in Barcelona, Spain. The general sale for tickets will begin this Friday at 10 a.m. at each date’s respective local time, with European tickets going on sale the following Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m. local time. However, Cash App users that have a Cash Card, which is a debit card connected to your Cash App account, will be able to get tour tickets before anyone else, with their presale opening tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. local.

About Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X is a 23-year-old award-winning rapper, singer, songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia. Dubbed “an internationally recognized phenomenon” by Billboard, he rose to fame in 2019 when he released “Old Town Road” and simultaneously upended the music industry – shattering genre norms, disrupting the charts and going viral worldwide. The song’s remix with Billy Ray Cyrus became the longest running #1 single in Billboard Hot 100 history after 19 weeks atop the chart. The 16x Platinum hit is the most certified song in RIAA history and is recognized with numerous awards including two Grammys.
After releasing his eclectic EP 7 in June 2019, which features the 6x Platinum “Panini” and 2x Platinum “Rodeo,” Lil Nas X returned in November 2020 with his Platinum single “HOLIDAY”, and followed with the culture-shifting 3x Platinum hit “MONTERO (Call Me Be Your Name)” in March 2021. The queer anthem provoked much needed dialogue around the globe, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, remained atop of the Spotify Global chart for over a month straight, and propelled to #1 on the Top 40 and Rhythm Airplay charts. Already named a fashion icon for all his incredible eye-catching looks, the multifaceted artist and internet king released his critically-acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated debut album Montero in September 2021.
The album was included on numerous Best of 2021 lists from Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, People, USA Today, Billboard, LA Times, Complex, and more for “its genre-stretching approach and refreshingly honest exploration of love and loneliness” as told by Variety. The certified Platinum album, which Billboard calls a “masterpiece,” also boasts the 4x Platinum hit song “Industry Baby” featuring Jack Harlow, which went on to reach #1 at Top 40 radio and #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album’s third Platinum single “That’s What I Want” recently became Nas’ third straight #1 song at Top 40 radio. Lil Nas X is currently in the studio working on his sophomore album.

Lil Nas X released his debut album Montero last September, which earned him five nominations at the 2022 Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. While the evening ended with him going empty-handed, the 23-year-old artist had a playful response afterward. Plus, he’s already got two trophies to his name from the 2020 Grammys.
The 2022 edition also featured an impressive medley performance from Nas X, which included “Industry Baby” with song collaborator Jack Harlow . The single—which was up for a Grammy in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category—hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this past October.
Tickets for the 21-date trek will be available here . An exclusive pre-sale option through Cash App will be available for new and existing Cash App Cash Card holders from Wednesday (April 27) at 10 a.m. to Thursday (April 28) at 10 p.m. local time. Users can access the pre-sale by using the first nine numbers listed on their Cash Card on Ticketmaster, and then completing their purchase using the Cash Card.
A video announcement was also shared to get fans hyped for the upcoming tour:

Everything You Need to Know About Lil Nas X’s “Long Live Montero” Tour
By Krutika Surve
Lil Nas X quickly established himself in the music industry when the song, “Old Town Road” rose to prominence in 2019. Since then, his name has been everywhere. If not for his exuberant looks on the red carpet, or his eccentric Twitter persona, or his…um…less than traditional ways of marketing (such as maintaining a pregnancy only to give birth to his album ; it was a whole thing), Lil Nas X has maintained a dynamic, captivating presence over the past three years and now his name will be headlining a world tour.
The Long Live Montero Tour will feature the musician’s biggest shows yet. And the tour was naturally announced in a very Lil Nas way. “I’m having my very first tour,” the 23-year-old musician tweeted, “and all of you better come or I will cry on Instagram Live.” A threat if I’ve ever seen one. The tweet is accompanied by an introductory trailer: The video shows a compilation of some of his iconic performances and clips from his videos. It also has a sultry voice-over where the artist introduces his fans to “[his] world, [his] universe” where “everyone’s allowed, except gay people.” Naturally.

Of course, this is coming from the person who has been playing a large role in queering up hip-hop culture, so we can take it with a grain of salt, and a healthy dose of LOL.

Tickets are expected to go on say at 10am local time on April 29 th via Ticketmaster and a Cashapp presale at 10am on April 27 th . Visit Ticketmaster for more details.

Long live montero.
Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. I can’t wait for Lil Nas X to go on tour again! Love him forever!
Best first concert ever
This was my first concert ever and it was outstanding. Montero has always been my favorite artist so finally seeing him perform my favorite songs live felt unreal. The venue I went to was great and the whole show was a masterpiece. I also picked up some merch.
IT WAS AMAZING IT WAS DEFINITELY MY FAVORITE CONCERT IVE BEEN TO AND I HOPE I CAN SEE HIM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE!!!
Two hours late and lackluster VIP experience
I paid $345 for a VIP experience that was well below standard. There was no email sent out by event organizers beforehand with entry instructions for VIP packages. We just had to figure it out after our arrival. To say I regretted spending that amount of money on VIP is a major understatement. To make matters worse, the show started a full 2 hours late with no opening act. There was a random DJ that played popular songs most commonly heard at any and every gay bar. The show itself was good aside from the fact Lil Nas X lip synched for his life the whole time. His energy was good. Choreography, costumes, and visuals were on point. Lil Nas X needs an ego check to realize he’s not Madonna and can’t start a show on a weeknight a full two hours late. Hopefully he hires better management to keep his fans satisfied in future shows.
Magical Experience!
Lil Nas X shared his heart and soul. The dancing was phenomenal as well as the outfits and scenery. I want those flowing sparkle pants!! Please. The crowd had so much fun and i will never forget that show. Sending love to all involved.
AAAA+++ Performer
My first time seeing Lil Nas X live, was so impressed. What a great show full of all kinds of energy. From the first note till the vary last. The seats were perfect. Not a bad seat in the house. Will defiantly see him again.
Amazing. Beautiful. Sexy.
Lil Nas X complements his fun high-energy songs with stunning visuals and artistic films. I stan the way he and his crew lean into feminity and queerness throughout the set. I also loved that Lil Nas X provided a program crediting all the dancers, costume designers, stage designers, etc. that made his show possible.
Crazy night
The night was amazing. The venue was great and of course montero performed an amazing show. The crowd was full of people who were just there for a good time. Amazing concert experience
2 Hours Late
Concert time was 8pm. There was no advertised opener. Nas X had this British chick who I assume was an amateur on stage for over an hour. Nas finally got on stage at like 9:55pm. Never again. Respect your audience and start on time.
Great artist!
Awesome show, great performer, great visuals.... would see the show again!

For all the ground that Lil Nas X has broken over the past two years, it’s hard to believe the bonafide music star has never been on tour. But all that will change this fall when the 23-year-old rapper and singer embarks on his “Long Live Montero” tour.
The tour, in support of his Grammy-nominated album “Montero,” kicks off in Detroit on Sept. 6 and will make stops across the U.S. and Europe through November. Lil Nas X seems to have picked out smaller venues for his shows, compared to the massive arenas that performers of his caliber usually have no trouble filling to capacity. In L.A, for example, he’s set to play the 6,000-seat Youtube Theater in Inglewood rather than the Crypto.com Arena or Rose Bowl.
With a limited number of tickets up for grabs, you’ll want to be fast.
For the first time ever, the mobile payment service Cash App has launched an exclusive ticket presale for the Montero Tour, which went live on April 27 and runs through April 28 at 10 p.m. ET. What this means is that Cash App customers with a Cash Card have the ability to purchase tickets on Ticketmaster 48 hours before the public onsale begins on Friday. Users can view the available tour dates and enter the first nine digits of their Cash Card in the passcode box to access the presale.
General tickets go live on Friday, April 29 at 10 a.m. While there’s no way to ensure that you’ll secure tickets beforehand, Ticketmaster always advises fans to sign into their Ticketmaster accounts as early as possible to save time during the checkout process.

About Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X's Long Live Montero Tour Is A Hell Of A Good Time
His performance at Radio City Music Hall was 🔥.
To watch a gay Black man flanked by hyper-feminine dancers headline a show at a venue as iconic as NYC’s Radio City Music Hall is a beautiful thing. Lil Nas X did just that for his sold-out Long Live Montero tour stop on Sept. 20. Here are the most fabulous highlights.
Divided into three acts, Lil Nas’ thematic show borrowed from The Wizard of Oz to illustrate his metamorphosis from aspiring rapper to Grammy winner. As if it were a Broadway show, fans were given a Playbill outlining his cast, crew, fashion credits, and setlist.

Overheard at the Half-Marathon: ‘Wait, Was That Lil Nas X?’
The rapper and singer, clad in bulky designer sneakers and the official race T-shirt, was a last-minute addition at the NYC Half.
By Scott Cacciola
Ahead of one of its signature events, New York Road Runners fielded an unusual email request on Friday night.
The rapper and singer Lil Nas X, who was visiting New York from Los Angeles, had seen some advertisements for the United Airlines NYC Half , a 13.1-mile race that was set to be staged on Sunday morning. And one of his representatives was curious: Did the race have room for one more runner?
“It kind of came out of the blue,” Rob Simmelkjaer, the chief executive of New York Road Runners, said in a telephone interview on Monday.
The nonprofit, which puts on about 60 races each year, including the New York City Marathon, was happy to oblige. It hardly mattered that Lil Nas X, who will turn 25 next month, had seldom run more than three miles consecutively, let alone a half-marathon. Or that he showed up for the race in a pair of Coach high-top sneakers , which are more boot than high-end racing flat.
Accompanied by Roberto Mandje, New York Road Runners’ senior adviser for running engagement and coaching, Lil Nas X was among more than 27,000 finishers, completing the race in 2 hours 32 minutes 53 seconds .
“We would be running and you’d hear someone shout, ‘Wait, was that Lil Nas X?’” Mr. Mandje said in an interview. “So he’d turn around and wave, and they’d freak out.”
Representatives for Lil Nas X did not respond to a request for comment.
Ahead of Sunday’s event, race officials kept his inclusion on the “down low,” Mr. Simmelkjaer said, as did Lil Nas X, who entered the race using his real name, Montero Hill. He also seemed determined to get the full experience, going so far as to visit the pre-race expo in person on Saturday to grab his race bib (No. 2271) and commemorative long-sleeve T-shirt.
He was wearing the shirt when he met up with Mr. Mandje on Sunday at 6:30 a.m. Mr. Mandje, who described himself as “one of the only people in the world” who was unfamiliar with Lil Nas X, did a quick assessment: Had he been training? (No.) Did he have a goal? (Finish.) Did he want to chat during the race? (Absolutely.) Above all, Mr. Mandje said, Lil Nas X wanted to enjoy the experience .
“We’re going to have a good time,” Mr. Mandje recalled telling him.
As Lil Nas X entered uncharted territory about halfway through the race, Mr. Mandje offered valuable perspective: Just about everyone else on the course had spent several months training for the race. Lil Nas X, in other words, was doing something — how to put it? — unconventional.
“I’m not sure everybody could pull that off,” Mr. Mandje said.
Lil Nas X’s footwear eventually caused some issues. Coach describes its high-top sneakers as “built for comfort and long wear.” But they are more than twice as heavy as a normal pair of running sneakers.
Sure enough, at around Mile 10, Lil Nas X told Mr. Mandje that his feet were bothering him. He even entertained the idea of momentarily stepping off the course so that he could buy a pair of running sneakers at a Foot Locker. But the store was closed, so he plowed ahead.
“Hey, you’ve made it this far,” Mr. Mandje recalled telling him.
Mr. Mandje also captured some behind-the-scenes moments on social media. At Mile 3, for example, he asked Lil Nas X how he was feeling.
“I feel nothing,” he said. “No pain at all. Nothing in my shoulders. Nothing in my legs at all.”
“And we’re learning a lot about running, right?” Mr. Mandje asked as they continued to jog.
“We’re learning a lot,” Lil Nas X said, “and I just lied about those things.”
At around Mile 4, when Mr. Mandje told him to wave goodbye to Brooklyn, Lil Nas X waved goodbye to Brooklyn. Lil Nas X provided additional insight at Mile 9: “I’m still alive.” And at Mile 11: “I smell ribs. I’m going to use that as motivation.” And at Mile 12: “It’s basically over with. I basically already did it.”
Mr. Simmelkjaer, who used the race’s live results app to track Lil Nas X’s progress, said he was impressed when the star ran through the finish line without any obvious signs of distress. After Mr. Simmelkjaer introduced himself, Lil Nas X grabbed a phone so that he could take several selfies with Mr. Simmelkjaer and his 15-year-old daughter, Julia.
“I’m officially no longer uncool as a dad,” Mr. Simmelkjaer said.
Mr. Mandje said he was left with the impression that Lil Nas X’s first road race would not be his last — “The seed is planted,” Mr. Mandje said — though that remains to be seen.
Lil Nas X celebrated his achievement on Instagram by posting a photo of himself with his finisher’s medal — from the comfort of a wheelchair.
