Mission Trip to Japan
You can be part of a great mission opportunity.
A ministry team comprised of adults and high school age students are needed to work with a larger team of volunteers from churches across the U.S. to serve missionary families and national Pastors who will be gathering from throughout the nation of Japan for a Church Planting Conference.
This unique conference is an opportunity for missionaries to meet together for a time of training, fellowship, and spiritual renewal.
WHY GO TO JAPAN?
The Japanese need to know Jesus! Japan, though small by geographic standards, has over 127 million people and is a monolithic, largely pantheistic and atheistic society. They are a progressive people surrounded by wealth, technology and convenience. But they are without any knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their history and culture is virtually devoid of Christian influence in any form with only 0.22% (about 1/5 of 1%) of Protestant worshippers professing faith in Christ.
WHY HELP MISSIONAIRIES?
Missionaries need renewal. The missionaries in Japan represent various countries from around the world all working to advance the Gospel and plant churches. Though safe and free to preach the gospel, it is a challenging and difficult task taking years to see results. Faithful to the call, many missionaries work tirelessly, often in isolation far away from their own cultural comforts. As a result, burn-out and discouragement often plague the missionaries and their families; therefore, training, fellowship and rest are vital to the health of missionaries. It is important for them to get away for a season of renewal in order to stay current, relevant and focused in their ministry. Japan CPI is a conference that offers missionaries an opportunity to meet with fellow co-workers, participate in training, enjoy fellowship, experience spiritual renewal and be energized for ministry. Japan CPI was organized by a community of inter-denominational church leaders who realized the need and desired to collaborate with one another in order to advance God’s Kingdom in Japan through starting, growing and multiplying gospel-centered churches and church planting movements.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
No matter your ability, you can be an integral part of this mission team. Anyone with a love for God, a servant attitude and the ability to be cheerfully flexible is a great candidate for Mission Japan 2022.
Your participation will help to keep the cost of the conference financially affordable for the missionaries and free up manpower so that ministry leaders are able to attend and benefit from the conference. The opportunity to serve in Japan is an awesome privilege and there are many venues to serve in a wide range of capacities. Help is needed in the following areas:
- Medical — nurses/doctors
- Youth ministry
- Bible teachers / helpers
- Sports / recreation

The Spiritual Need – Missions Trips to Japan
As the second largest unreached people group in the world, the Japanese need the hope of Christ. Only 0.6 percent of Japan’s total population now consists of evangelical believers, meaning there are few Christians in Japan.
Unreached groups consist of countries where less than two percent of the population adhere to evangelical callings or less than five percent follow any sect of Christianity. ABWE seeks to connect with these unreached people by sending missionaries to their region and partnering with Japanese believers. We have launched the Open Initiative program to bring sixty new missionaries and seven new teams into unreached nations—including Japan—by 2027.
ABWE has established ministries in Kumamoto, Izumi, and Miyakonojo, located on the southwestern island of Kyushu, as well as in the national capital of Tokyo. All Japanese middle school and high school students are required to take six years of English courses, so language teaching provides an open door for sharing the gospel. We have also worked in children’s and youth ministry and within the deaf community. People are coming to know the Lord, and we are excited to see Christian families growing together in their faith.
Long-lasting spiritual traditions and practices make mission work in Japan tough and challenging. We need teammates with fresh ideas, deep relationship-building skills, and perseverance— regardless of how fruitful the results may appear.
ABWE plans to expand the team in Tokyo and is seeking missionaries equipped for church planting, teaching in a Bible academy, personal evangelism, and teaching English as a second language to minister to both Japanese Christians and nonbelievers alike. These valuable skills can build bridges into Japan’s communities. Will you join us on a missions trip to Japan and press on toward that goal with us?
Getting Started
ABWE provides various options for missionaries exploring their callings:
- Short-term: Short-term missions trips last anywhere from a week to a year. ABWE sends people on these trips to help them learn more about full-time ministry, meet specific needs on the field, and help the local communities see the love of God in action.
- Mid-term: ABWE’s mid-term opportunities call missionaries to the field for one to four years. Since mission workers stay longer, these trips often involve long-term projects with missionary teams to assist the local church, improve their communities, and provide services that allow them to minister with everyday people.
- Long-term: Our longest options call missionaries to become members of a community for four or more years. Missionaries serving long-term often help specific communities or the community at large through various organizations or programs. The communities they serve benefit immensely from the relationships they build with passionate believers who are part of the Christian community.
Christianity in Japan
Japan’s rich history and culture extend back to 660 BC. For centuries, the Japanese people devoted their spiritual practices to Shintoism. This traditional religion views humans as fundamentally good and sees evil desires and actions as the work of spirits. Therefore, much of their tradition aims to purify locations and individuals from evil spirits by praying and making offerings to the kami, which are Shinto gods.
However, in recent years, Japanese interest in Christianity has grown. Many people seek out Christianity because of its message of hope and peace. Currently there are about one million Japanese Christians, a small minority compared to the overall population of the country. However, the number of Christians is steadily increasing, and estimates predict that there will be 2.5 million Christians in Japan by 2025.
The Spiritual Environment: What to Expect
The Japanese are the second-largest unreached people group, and Japan is the largest unreached nation that is open to missionaries. Shintoism and Buddhism are major religions, and materialism, ancestor worship, and group conformity also play roles in Japanese culture.
Most Japanese people view Christianity as a good, but irrelevant, foreign religion. Christian missionaries play an important role in reaching out to the Japanese people. And spreading Christian culture is a vital part of that role. By sharing the gospel with them in a culturally relevant and experiential way, we can help them to see that Christianity is not just a foreign religion, but a living Christian faith that can transform their lives.
The Advanced Society in Spiritual Need
Japan needs missionaries willing to go and share the gospel message with its people. We often forget that a modern, technologically advanced, well-educated society can be steeped in spiritual darkness, living day after day without hope. Many Japanese are devoted to pursuing education or their career, often working long hours.
Whether through worshiping in the cultural tradition of Shintoism where nature, numerous gods, and ancestors are worshiped or through adhering to the emperor worship of Buddhism’s Mahayana tradition, little doubt remains that Japan needs the gospel. Japan, a nation full of lost people just like us, needs to hear about Jesus Christ, his love for them, and his offer of forgiveness and eternal life.
The Way of Life in Japan
ABWE provides many opportunities for missionary work in Japan. With its excellent public transportation and urban biking, Japan makes it easy to get around and connect with people. The beautiful seashores, forests, and mountains attract tourists from around the world.
Japanese people are generally very polite and helpful, and they’re used to seeing foreigners in their country. Many opportunities to share the gospel arise with people who have never heard it before. As you learn the Japanese language, you’ll be able to connect with people on a deeper level and share with them the good news of Jesus Christ.
Christianity Helped Teach Japan to Modernize
When Japan began to open its doors to foreigners, many Christian missionaries found their calling. These missionaries played an important role in Japan’s modernization process. They brought new ideas about democracy and education, and they also helped to develop industry and infrastructure. In addition, they introduced Western medicine and technology, which helped to improve the quality of life for many Japanese people.
As the country has continued to modernize, it has become increasingly influenced by Christian values and traditions, opening the doors for missionary work in Japan. While Christianity still remains a minor religion in Japan, its impact on Japanese society cannot be denied. The country has become more open and democratic, and its people have benefited from the advances in education, health care, and technology that were introduced by early Christian missionaries.
The Problem of Hopelessness
Japan faces many challenges. One of the most serious problems stems from the sense of hopelessness that pervades all age groups in society. Many people feel helpless and have no sense of purpose.
Despite how they may appear, many people in Japan struggle with cultural, religious, and familial issues but attempt to cover their feelings. The solution to this hopelessness can only be found in our Creator, through faith and the message of the gospel shared through Japanese Christians and foreign missionaries. Pray that God would comfort the hopeless and give them a true sense of purpose. Japan needs prayer.
The History of Christianity in Japan
Roman Catholicism initially arrived in Japan with the Portuguese in 1549 under the Jesuit leader, Francis Xavier. He and three other Roman Catholic missionaries intended to start a church, but were met with problems when the Japanese people misunderstood their nationality. Thinking that the missionaries were from India and that Catholicism was an “Indian Religion,” the Japanese struggled to understand their intentions.
The misunderstanding originated because the country of Goa, a central base for Portuguese India at the time, already had ties with the Japanese government and many of the crew on the missionary ship were of Indian descent. Fortunately, the missionaries gained traction and a decent following. However, the Roman Catholic practice of giving out Christian names and asking new believers to adopt Western cultural habits created tension between converts and the government, who thought that the converts were actually foreign spies trying to subvert the social order.
Regardless, Christianity began to grow in Kyushu, Japan as the conversion of local warlords led to the conversion of many of their subjects. As feudal lords became Christians, both they and the Jesuits encouraged the destruction of many Buddhist and Shinto temples, which led to the persecution of a lot of the Buddhist monks and Shinto priests.
Trouble began to brew as the regent, Oda Nobugana, was succeeded by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. While Hideyoshi started off supporting the Christian cause, he later changed his mind and issued the Bateren Edict, which banned missionary activities. After visiting Hakozaki, he believed the Jesuits were selling Japanese people as slaves overseas, destroying shrines and temples, and forcing people to convert to Christianity. Many historians figure that Hideyoshi thought Christian influence intended to overthrow the existing government and colonize Japan.
In 1637, Matsukura Katsuie mismanaged his province and imposed high taxes on his subordinates while also persecuting Christians. This, alongside famine, led to the Shimabara Rebellion, the largest rebellion to date in Japan. As Christians began to join the peasant-led movement, the Shogun, the military dictators of Japan, banned Christianity.
For the next 250 years, Christians came under extreme persecution. Many died horrible deaths, and within 50 years, their population nearly dropped to zero. The people still practicing Christianity, under the title Hidden Christians, found ways to hide Christian icons within shrines or inconspicuous buildings as symbols of their faith.
After the Napoleonic wars ended in 1815, England began dispatching emissaries. Among these men was an officer in the Royal Navy named Herbert Clifford. England sent Clifford to China initially, but he soon made his way to the Loo Choo islands and began his first mission there shortly after. In 1843, Clifford met up with the Reverend Bernard Jean Bettelheim and worked alongside him to bring Christianity to the island.
When Japan started opening its borders to foreign activity again in 1853, Bettelheim jumped at the opportunity and became the first missionary to Okinawa. Although many clergymen from the Roman Catholic church, Protestant church, and Orthodox churches made their way to Japan, the country held firm to its ban on religious conversion until 1871 with the Meiji Restoration. This restoration gave Christian communities the right to exist and preach as they saw fit. Finally, Christianity began to flourish and help people in need. If you are ready to embark on a missions trip to Japan, we can provide you with the training and resources you need.

Summer Impact Japan – Tokyo (Summer 2024)
Trip Details
We have designed the content of this overseas summer program around one theme: Followers of Jesus living and discipling among the lost. During this summer, you will be stretched by extensive Bible study with the short-term team and local staff, Biblical-themed discussion nights with students, and living among and impacting Japanese.
You will serve alongside the collegiate team in Tokyo, the heart of Japan. In the BEST Club (our version of The Navigators in Japan), you will become a part of our student community. BEST stands for Bible, English, Sports, Travel, and in Tokyo, discussing the Bible and practicing spoken English are the most popular aspects of our club. Through this summer mission trip, you will hang out and make friends with students, learning just as much about God’s love from them as they will learn from you.
The team in Tokyo has many years of experience working with cross-cultural laborers and is excited to advance God’s kingdom together. Joining us would give you many opportunities to pray and learn alongside the team here. This summer will consist of experiences that challenge your worldview, how you view yourself, and God’s mission to the world. The team here is at the forefront of mission work in Tokyo’s Universities to make God known among the Japanese
In Japan, less than 1% believe in Jesus Christ. Most people have never had the opportunity to read the Bible or meet a Christian. This is hard work and not for those who want an easy summer. But those who join us will get to have conversations that point towards Jesus with many who don’t know Him, have life-changing experiences, and a heart more aligned with God’s gospel to the nations. Come alongside us this summer and join in on what God has for you and for the world.
A normal week will include:
- Bible study
- Hours engaging with Japanese non-believing students
- Time spent with local staff learning and planning
- XTAWG (Extended Time alone with God)
- Team building time

Frequently asked questions
You can do a wide range of things, from student outreach and prayer journeys to medical work and English teaching. We work in diverse locations across East Asia, from huge cities like Tokyo to the villages of Thailand. Each placement contributes to our long-term work to share the good news of Jesus.
If you’re looking for a team experience, we regularly partner with churches, Bible colleges, seminaries and schools to send short-term teams.
Serve Asia placements are available in 17 different East Asian countries where OMF has long-term workers. You can browse current Serve Asia opportunities by location on the OMF Opportunities website.
The Serve Asia programme runs all year around. You can serve for anything from one week to 12 months alongside OMF’s long-term workers in East Asia. Some of the Serve Asia opportunities listed online have set dates, while others are more flexible and can be arranged to suit both you and the host country.
One or two week mission trips are popular with those who are already in close proximity to the ministry location. Although only in the field for a short time, Serve Asia workers can be involved in many ways that work towards growing God’s church in Asia.
For those looking to go on a more long-term mission trip we have lots of opportunities available. We will do our best to find a place where you can serve in a ministry using your specific skills and gifts to meet a need in the field. By going for 6 weeks to 12 months it gives you an opportunity to be immersed in, and learn about, culture and language. You will also receive spiritual and personal support and mentoring from an OMF missionary.
If you are unsure which placement is right for you the Serve Asia Coordinator in your home country can help you to prayerfully consider how your gifts and skills could be used on the mission field and help to match this to current short-term mission opportunities in East Asia.
You can get in touch with your nearest OMF centre using the contact form.
Serve Asia regularly partners with churches, bible colleges, seminaries and schools to send teams to East Asia. We want to support and serve churches and other sending communities as they find ways to be more strategically involved in reaching East Asia’s peoples, and as they spur their members into deeper areas of discipleship.
To find out more about group mission trips please get in touch with your nearest OMF centre using the contact form.
The cost of a Serve Asia trip will vary depending on your home country and host country. Most trips will cost (USD) between $1000-3000 per month not including airfare and other one-time departure expenses (insurance, vaccinations, etc). However more detailed costs will be provided by the Serve Asia Coordinator in your home country.
Find out more about raising support, including fundraising for mission trips.
If you are interested in applying for one of the Serve Asia mission trips listed online, please register with the OMF Opportunities website. Answering these few quick questions helps us to connect you with your local OMF team. Once you have created an account it enables you to submit an inquiry about the opportunity which interests you.
After you submit an inquiry the Serve Asia Coordinator in your home country will contact you and ask you to complete a set of application forms. Once these have been reviewed you will meet a local OMF representative for an interview. After the interview your coordinator will let you know whether you have been accepted into the Serve Asia programme.
In some cases, people may not be able to participate in an on-the-ground Serve Asia placement because of medical or personal issues. The wellbeing of both the applicant and the long-term ministry are paramount to us as we thoroughly screen each application.
Once your application has been accepted you will be invited to attend a training day or weekend in your home country to help you to prepare for your mission trip.
To help you prepare spiritually and practically for your Serve Asia trip we recommend the Prepare Your Heart devotional found here.
You’ll benefit from our help and support in learning the language and culture, pastoral care and medical care.
Our support doesn’t stop when your placement ends. We hope your time with Serve Asia will be part of your life-long growth as a disciple of Jesus playing a part in his global plan. We provide mentoring, ways to stay involved in God’s work in the world and advice to help you and your church make the most of your experience with us.
By mission discipleship we mean that we hope to walk alongside each Serve Asia worker as they try to discern where and how they fit into God’s mission.
Before the great commission (Matthew 8:28), Jesus simply asked his disciples to “Follow me.” For three years the disciples walked, talked, ate, slept, witnessed miracles, cast out demons, and more as they followed Jesus. Through their following they learned. Through their following they were equipped. Through their following their commitment grew – so much so that when Jesus gave the great commission, their hearts were fully engaged, and their lives shaped for the long-term journey.
Serve Asia is not just about the “doing”.
In Serve Asia we don’t just focus on going to the mission field and “doing” something. It’s all about learning and finding out more about what is at the centre of God’s heart. It’s about learning more about what it means to follow God, even if this is to hard places. Serve Asia is not just about the short-term, it’s about gaining long-term vision and commitment.
Upon returning home, we help each Serve Asia worker to integrate and process their experiences. We walk with them as God leads, exploring further involvement in mission through praying, going, sending, learning, mobilising, or welcoming East Asians.

We are excited to see how God is working in Japan! As of 2023, Mission to the World Japan has 100 career missionaries, including various nationalities and collaborating mission agencies, and this number is growing every year. We focus on church growth by planting new churches and assisting Japanese nationals through evangelism and discipleship, recognizing that many ministries are crucial to assist in these church planting movements. We engage in seminary training, faith & work ministries, faith & art ministries, Christian grade school education, publishing, and much more.
To learn about the people and ministries of each team, please visit their individual pages through the drop-down menu above.
The vision of MTW Japan is to see the church of Jesus Christ flourish and multiply throughout Japan.
The mission of MTW Japan is to raise up, strengthen, and encourage churches and leaders in Japan.
Healthy Churches・Healthy Leaders
Missionaries in Mission to the World's tradition first arrived in Japan in 1948. The following year they helped begin Tokyo Christian Theological Seminary, which helped establish today's 日本長老教会 (Presbyterian Church in Japan). MTW Japan officially began in 1982, inheriting missionaries already in Japan and expanding into multiple church-planting teams.

THE GREAT NEED
Japan is one of the least evangelized countries in the world. There is only one church for every 16,000 people!

CALLED TO SERVE
The two-fold purpose of Japan Mission is to evangelize the lost and help the small Bible-teaching churches of Japan. Most churches in Japan have an attendance of fewer than 30 people and are in great need of resources and evangelistic programs. We believe Japan is in great need of more churches that are spiritually thriving centers of hope, which can meet the needs of those in their communities.

From the Vault
Voices from wheaton archives & special collections, japan for christ: the evangelistic travels of h. s. kimura.
Kimura Kiyomatsu (木村 清松), known in the United States as Henry Seimatsu Kimura, was born in 1874 to a family of sake brewers in Gosen City, Niigata Prefecture. At seventeen Kimura was baptized during an evangelistic service held by Teiichi Hori in Niigata. His conversion to Christianity led to conflict within his family, especially with his father, who disowned him; although both his parents and his two brothers eventually became Christians.
After the fall-out over his conversion, Kimura left home to attend Tohoku Gakuin University. In 1894, seeking further Christian education, Kimura sailed for the United States. Arriving in San Francisco, Kimura briefly joined the Salvation Army before leaving to study at the Methodist Episcopal Church’s University of the Pacific in San Jose. During his studies, Kimura served with the Methodist Japanese Mission in San Jose, as well as traveled to preach at Japanese churches throughout northern California.
When D. L. Moody visited California on a speaking tour in March 1899, Kimura sought out the famous evangelist. Impressing Moody with his conviction for Christ and his sheer persistence, Moody sponsored Kimura’s further education at the Moody Bible Institute (MBI) in Chicago.
After two years at MBI, Kimura returned to Japan in 1901, beginning a fifty-year ministry across Japan, China, and the South Pacific. Along with pastorates at Kyoto’s Rakuyo Church and Osaka’s Minami Church and Tenma Church (among others), Kimura served as an itinerant evangelist for the United Church of Christ in Japan.
In 1914, Kimura visited the U.S. and encountered a Billy Sunday Campaign in Denver, Colorado. Captivated by Sunday’s dynamic delivery and urgent message, Kimura returned to Japan with a new vision for evangelism inspired by the popular American evangelist. An October 1915 issue of The Christian Register characterized Kimura as the new “Japanese Billy Sunday”:
“A great tent which he secured he pitched in the immediate vicinity of the houses of parliament in Tokyo, and there he has been preaching since, engaging the constantly increasing attention of the people of Tokyo…. Like Sunday, he rushes back and forth across the platform, gesticulates widely, twists and crouches in dozens of extreme attitudes, and shouts out his accusations, challenges, and invitation with intense force. Sometimes when his voice fails he uses a megaphone. The Japanese language apparently does not admit as much scope for slang as there is in American speech, but Kimura goes as far as he can in that direction, and puts his message continually in the vernacular of the streets.”
Just as Billy Sunday encountered criticisms for allegedly promoting superficial conversions on his “Sawdust Trail,” H. S. Kimura’s tent revivals in Japan also drew skepticism from some Western missionaries and Japanese pastors. His approach to theology and his popular evangelistic methods sparked further debate in 1918 with his participation in Japan’s “Second Advent Movement,” a brief but influential revival movement centered on Biblical prophecy and the imminent return of Christ.
Wheaton Archives & Special Collections holds one photo album chronicling H. S. Kimura’s evangelistic journeys through Japan, the South Pacific, and the United States in Collection 330: Records of Moody Church . Although living in Japan, Kimura had maintained his membership with Moody Church in Chicago, and this album was likely created and shared with the church as a testament to his ongoing ministry. Below, you can explore nine pages from the album.
In addition to the photo album, Wheaton Archives & Special Collections holds one small folder of correspondence and evangelistic flyers related to H. S. Kimura in SC-099: Papers of Jessie Pen Lewis .
For more on the early life and ministry of H. S. Kimura, see Mrs. Delevan L. Pierson’s account of “ Hallelujah Kim ” in the Missionary Review of the World (1916). A later English biography, Henry Seimatsu Kimura of Japan : The Life and Anecdotes of a Veteran Soldier of the Cross was published in 1965. Kimura’s younger brother Seishiro Iwamura , who became a pioneer in early childhood Christian education in Japan, wrote a popular account of his brother’s evangelism in the 1930s, (translated as) Kiyomatsu, Captivated by Christ . After Kimura’s death in 1958, the Tenma Church of Christ also published a memorial of his decades of ministry with the United Church of Christ in Japan.

Reflections From Past Trippers
“..God's heart is to see His children come to know him and the church to be a place of hope, help and healing , in the midst of the pandemic.”
- Belicia, participant from REDproject digital trip to Thailand (October 2021)
“Things may seem to be moving slowly.. but surely the Lord is moving mightily among the pre-believersand opening their hearts to the gospel and the love of Christ . We need to pray continually for the missionaries, pastors, mission workers..”
- Ivan, participant from REDproject digital trip to Japan (June 2022)
“The harvest is plentiful and workers are few. Sometimes we don't need a specific reason to serve in the nations. We just do it simply because there are needs everywhere . All we need to offer are open hearts and minds .”
- Joy, participant for in-person trip to Japan (December 2022)
“God is a strategic God . The way he uses people and their unique skills and abilities is very detailed and precise . He has a plan ... He can bring people together to partner with Him…”
- Keziah, participant for in-person trip to Thailand (March 2023)
Short-term Missions FAQ
Short-term mission trips can be effective! We believe that everyone should hear and respond to the gospel of God's love. All of us can make a difference in someone's life – be it by sharing the gospel message directly, serving with our skill sets or simply offering someone the ministry of presence.
There is more to be done for His kingdom work; Short-term missions help to spur personal growth because of the vast amount of spiritual lessons you will witness, learn and put into practice on the mission field.
One of the significant benefits of short-term mission trips is witnessing the transformative power of Christianity in action. By stepping out of their comfort zones and serving others in a different cultural context, mission team members often experience a deeper understanding and appreciation of their faith. This personal growth can translate into a stronger commitment to following Christ and sharing the gospel message back home. The mission team’s presence also brings encouragement to the local long-term missionaries.
A Cru Singapore mission trip is typically led by our full-time staff who will provide leadership and direction. Trips vary in size and participants are to commit to pre-trip meetings to prepare well for the mission. Attend these sessions and take them seriously to maximise the impact of the trip.
No prior mission experience is needed, all first-timers are welcomed! Unless indicated, local language proficiency is not a requirement, but always a bonus!
You can find our #GO trips listed here . Visit the different trips to read each trip's description. After you click on the box (on the right) labelled "Attendee", you will be directed to the login page. You would need to create an account in order to sign up and make payment for registration fees.
The non-refundable *$50 (GST inclusive) registration fee charge covers administrative costs and other incidentals.
*The $50 registration fee is waived for participants going on another trip within the same calendar year. Please do not make payment (you may ignore the QR code payment). If you are going on another trip with us, do write in to [email protected] to let us know so that we can waive the fee for you.
For participants ages 13 to 18, the registration fee is $30. Registration fee is waived for participants ages 12 and below.
Going on a Christian mission trip involves a combination of preparation, prayer, and action. Before deciding to go on a mission trip, spend time in prayer and discernment. Seek God's guidance and ask for wisdom about where and how to serve. Consider your gifts, skills, and passions, and how they can be used to serve others. Our short-term missions offer a variety of trips and opportunities to serve, so find one that matches your interests and skills.
Each of us might have an idea of how missions ought to look, but as we choose to give off the little that we have, in turn, we will receive in unexpected ways. Avail your hands and feet to serve and bring the Gospel to people who have yet to hear about Jesus.
You can also expect to get to know people of different cultures and backgrounds even on your own team!
Planning a short-term mission trip can be a complex and challenging process. To ensure that the trip has the highest chance of success, it is essential to approach the planning process with intentionality and thoroughness. Here are some steps to consider when planning a short-term mission trip:
- Determine the purpose of the trip
- Identify the target group
- Recruit a team
- Plan the logistics
- Prepare spiritually and culturally
- Post-trip follow-up
For individuals or church groups who might want to lead and form your own teams, you may email us to indicate your interest.
Our short-term mission trips range from 5 days to 3 weeks. The duration can vary depending on the nature of the trip, the location, and the goals. While the length of a mission trip is important, it is essential to focus on the trip's quality and impact. Regardless of the duration, a well-planned and executed mission trip can have a lasting impact on the participants and the communities they serve.
The estimated cost for our current mission trips can be found here upon clicking on the specific mission projects. The cost can vary widely depending on the location, duration, and nature of the trip. Some trips may be more expensive due to the cost of airfare, accommodations, meals, and ministry expenses.
You can opt to support-raise or self-fund for the mission trip you will be participating in. Support raising allows others to support you in finances and prayer, thereby contributing to God's kingdom work through you. It also helps to raise awareness of the need and importance of going. By seeking support, you are no longer representing yourself—but the whole body of Christ, His Church, is behind you as you go to the world with His Good News.
