A lookout notice has been issued for Shakir Subhan, popularly known as Mallu Traveller, a prominent travel vlogger from Kerala, in connection with allegations of sexual assault against a Saudi Arabian woman.

The incident is reported to have occurred on September 13 (Wednesday) at a hotel in Kochi, where Shakir was conducting an interview with a Saudi Arabian woman, who has been residing in Kochi for a long time. During the incident, the woman claims that Shakir attempted to assault her while her fiancé briefly left the hotel room.

The case has been registered by the Ernakulam Central Police.

In response to the complaint filed by the 29-year-old Saudi Arabian woman, the police have taken action by issuing a lookout notice against Shakir Subhan.

This notice serves to alert authorities at airports and border crossings, ensuring that if Shakir attempts to enter Kerala, he will be taken into custody for questioning. Besides, the police have summoned Shakir to appear before the investigative team to provide his statement regarding the allegations.

The delay in taking action against the YouTuber was attributed to his absence from the country at the time the complaint was filed. The police had previously requested his prompt cooperation with the investigation. Meanwhile, the complainant's confidential statement has been recorded before a Magistrate as part of the ongoing investigation.

Shakir has taken to social media to deny the allegations against him, maintaining his innocence.

Shakir is famous for his travel videos and gained popularity for his vlogs, including one where he followed quarantine protocols as per government instructions before the Covid-19 pandemic took hold in India. He received widespread praise on social media for his efforts to educate the public on safety measures during the pandemic. Police issue look-out notice against Mallu Traveler over sexual harassment case

Kochi: The Police have issued a look-out notice against vlogger Mallu Traveler alias Shakir Subhan in connection with a sexual harassment case over a complaint lodged by a woman native of Saudi Arabia. The notice has been issued at airports. Mallu Traveler has been directed to appear before the police as soon as possible.

As the accused has been living abroad, the police have not been able to interrogate him or take further action despite days of receiving the complaint. The police have informed airport authorities to detain him if he returns to Kerala.

It is also learnt that the police have intensified procedures concerning the case. The confidential statement of the complainant has been recorded before the magistrate.

According to the complainant, Subhan misbehaved and groped her when she had come to attend an interview in Kochi. Meanwhile, Mallu Traveler has denied the woman’s allegation and stated that the complaint was “cent per cent fake.”

However, taking to social media, he denied the allegations and wrote, “I saw a fake complaint against me in the news. I will face it (the complaint) with sufficient evidence.”

A case was registered against a vlogger for allegedly attempting to misbehave with a woman from Saudi Arabia, under the pretext of an interview, police said on Saturday.

The case was registered against Shakeer Suban alias 'Mallu Traveller' on Friday, for the alleged incident that took place on September 13 at a hotel in Kochi, they said.

According to the complainant, the accused allegedly attempted to outrage the modesty of the foreign national.

However, in a video posted on YouTube today, he denied the charges levelled against him.

A case under section 354 (Outraging the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against Suban, who has over 2.71 million followers on YouTube.

Lookout notice issued against ‘Mallu Traveller’

KOCHI: The Kochi City police have issued a look-out notice against vlogger Zakir Subhan, who operates the social media channel ‘Mallu Traveller’, in a sexual assault case. 

As per the case registered by Ernakulam Central police on September 14, Zakir allegedly molested a Saudi citizen at a hotel at MG Road in Kochi. The victim, who was in a relationship with a Kasaragod native, had gone to meet Zakir with her partner. However, the woman alleged he molested her at the hotel when her partner briefly left the room. 

“We asked Zakir via his friends to appear for interrogation, but he did not respond. He continues to stay abroad and is not cooperating with the investigation. Hence, we issued the lookout notice so that he can be detained as soon as he lands at any airport in the country,” said a police officer.

The police are going ahead with the probe through other sources. “We have collected CCTV footage from the hotel. We have also recorded the statements of witnesses in the case. People close to Zakir whom he met during his last visit to Kochi will also be questioned soon,” the officer said.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is closely monitoring the investigation after the victim lodged a complaint with the Saudi Embassy. People close to Zakir said he is likely to approach the Ernakulam District Principal Sessions Court seeking anticipatory bail.

Kochi: A police case was registered against popular Malayalam vlogger ‘Mallu Traveller’ alias Shakker Suban for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a Saudi-native woman. The case was registered at Ernakulam Central police station based on the complaint of the woman on Friday.

The alleged incident happened a week ago when the vlogger was invited for an interview by the Saudi woman. However, he allegedly misbehaved with the woman when her partner went out.

He will be summoned for questioning.

On Saturday, Suban, through his instagram page, said that the allegations against him were fake and he would upload a detailed video soon. He said that he was in Canada.

'മല്ലു ട്രാവലര്‍' എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന വ്‌ളോഗര്‍ ഷാക്കിര്‍ സുബാനെതിരെ പോക്സോ കേസ്. ആദ്യ ഭാര്യ  നല്‍കിയ പരാതിയിലാണ് ധര്‍മ്മടം പൊലീസിന്റെ നടപടി. 15ാം വയസ്സില്‍ ആദ്യ ഗര്‍ഭച്ഛിദ്രം നടത്തി, കുടുംബത്തിലെ പല സ്ത്രീകളുടേയും ഒളിക്യാമറ ദൃശ്യങ്ങള്‍ പകര്‍ത്തി ബ്ലാക്ക്‌മെയില്‍ ചെയ്തു, ഗര്‍ഭിണിയായിരുന്ന സമയത്ത് നിര്‍ബന്ധിച്ച് ബിയര്‍ കഴിപ്പിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയ ഗുരുതര ആരോപണങ്ങളാണ് ആദ്യ ഭാര്യ ഷാക്കിറിനെതിരെ ഉയര്‍ത്തിയത്. 

അടുത്തിടെ ഒരു മാധ്യമത്തിന് നല്‍കിയ അഭിമുഖത്തിലാണ് യുവതി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തല്‍ നടത്തിയത്. നിരവധി പെണ്‍കുട്ടികള്‍ ഷാക്കിറിന്റെ കെണിയില്‍ വീണുവെന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞതിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിലാണ് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തലെന്ന് യുവതി പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. സമൂഹമാധ്യമങ്ങളിലൂടെ തന്നെ അപകീര്‍ത്തിപ്പെടുത്തിയെന്നും ഇതില്‍ ഷാക്കിറിനെതിരെ നിയമ നടപടിയുമായി മുന്നോട്ട് പോകുമെന്നും യുവതി വ്യക്തമാക്കി. 

'കുടുംബത്തിലെ പല സ്ത്രീകളുടേയും ഒളിക്യാമറ ദൃശ്യങ്ങള്‍ പകര്‍ത്തി ബ്ലാക്ക്‌മെയില്‍ ചെയ്ത് ഷാക്കിര്‍ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു. പല രീതിയിലും എന്റെ ഉമ്മയെ പോലും ബ്ലാക്ക് മെയില്‍ ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു. എന്റെ പേരില്‍ ഫേക്ക് ഐഡി ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിട്ട് പല പുരുഷന്മാരോടും ചാറ്റ് ചെയ്ത് പൈസ വാങ്ങി. സ്വന്തം നമ്പര്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കാതെ സ്നാപ് ചാറ്റ് വഴിയാണ് ഷാക്കിര്‍ പെണ്‍കുട്ടികളുമായി കോണ്‍ടാക്ട് വെയ്ക്കുന്നത്. അതിനാല്‍, അവര്‍ക്ക് ഇവാനാതെന്ന് തെളിയിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയില്ലായിരുന്നു. അവന്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ മല്ലു ട്രാവലര്‍ എന്ന പേരില്‍ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ അതെന്റെ ഔദാര്യം മാത്രമാണ്.', യുവതി പറഞ്ഞു. 

ഷാക്കിര്‍ അശ്ലീല വീഡിയോകള്‍ കാണുമായിരുന്നു. ഞാന്‍ ഗര്‍ഭിണി ആയിരിക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ ഒരു വീഡിയോ എനിക്ക് കാണിച്ച് തന്നു. അതില്‍ ഇഷ്ടക്കേട് കാണിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ എന്റെ വയറില്‍ ചവിട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തു. അപ്പോള്‍ എത്രാമത്തെ വയസ്സിലാണ് തന്റെ വിവാഹം നടന്നതെന്ന് മനസ്സിലായില്ലേയെന്നും യുവതി ചോദിച്ചു.

'ആ സമയത്ത് എനിക്ക് പെട്ടെന്ന് സ്ട്രോക്ക് വന്നിരുന്നു. എനിക്ക് മെന്റല്‍ ആണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് മെന്റല്‍ ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിലേക്കാണ് ഷാക്കിര്‍ കൊണ്ട് പോയത്. എനിക്ക് മാനസിക പ്രശ്നങ്ങളായിരുന്നു ഞാന്‍ അനുഭവിച്ചിരുന്നു. ശാരീരിക പ്രശ്നങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഞാന്‍ അഭിനയിക്കുന്നതാണെന്നാണ് ഷാക്കിര്‍ പറഞ്ഞത്. ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ ഒരു ഹാര്‍ട്ട് പേഷ്യന്റും ബ്ലഡ് ക്യാന്‍സര്‍ പേഷ്യന്റുമാണ്. കൃത്യമായി ചികിത്സ ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഇന്ന് ഈ ഗതി വരില്ലാരുന്നു.', യുവതി കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തി.

നേരത്തെ  പീഡനക്കേസില്‍ ഇടക്കാല ജാമ്യം ലഭിച്ചതിന് പിന്നാലെ വ്ളോഗര്‍ ഷാക്കിര്‍ സുബാന്‍ കൊച്ചിയിലെത്തി പൊലീസിന് മുമ്പിൽ ഹാജരായിരുന്നു. താന്‍ നിരപരാധിയാണെന്നും കേസിനെ നിയമപരമായി നേരിടുമെന്നും ഷാക്കിര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. നീതി കിട്ടുമെന്ന് തന്നെയാണ് പ്രതീക്ഷ. പൊലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷനിലെത്തി പാസ്‌പോര്‍ട്ട് കൈമാറുമെന്നും മല്ലു ട്രാവലര്‍ എന്ന പേരില്‍ വ്ളോഗ് ചെയ്യുന്ന ഷാക്കിര്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.

'നിരപരാധിയാണ്. പേടിക്കേണ്ട ആവശ്യമില്ല. സത്യം കോടതിയില്‍ തെളിയിക്കും. ജീവിതം കോടതിയുടെ കനിവിലാണ്. നീതി കിട്ടുമെന്ന് തന്നെയാണ് പ്രതീക്ഷ. ഒരു മാസം മുമ്പ് മകന് വാങ്ങിയ ടോയ് ഇപ്പോഴും കൈയ്യിലുണ്ട്. കേസിനെ നിയമപരമായി തന്നെ നേരിടും. സ്റ്റേഷനിലേക്കാണ് പോകുന്നത്. പാസ്പോര്‍ട്ട് കൈമാറും. പൊലീസിന്റേയും കോടതിയുടേയും നിര്‍ദേശപ്രകാരം മറ്റ് കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ തീരുമാനിക്കും.' ഷാക്കിര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

സൗദി യുവതി നൽകിയ  ലൈംഗിക പീഡന പരാതിയില്‍  ഷാക്കിര്‍ സുബാന് ഹൈക്കോടതിയാണ് ഇടക്കാല ജാമ്യം അനുവദിച്ചത്. ഉപാധികളോടെയാണ് ജാമ്യം. പാസ്പോര്‍ട്ട് സറണ്ടര്‍ ചെയ്യണം, കേരളം വിട്ട് പോകരുത്, സാക്ഷികളെ സ്വാധീനിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കരുത്, അന്വേഷണ സംഘം ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടാല്‍ ഏത് സമയത്തും ഹാജരാകണം തുടങ്ങിയവയാണ് ഉപാധികള്‍. 25ാം തീയതി കോടതി മുന്‍പാകെ ഹാജരാകുമെന്ന് മല്ലു ട്രാവലര്‍ അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇതനുസരിച്ചാണ് ഇന്ന് കൊച്ചിയിലെത്തിയത്. 

സെപ്റ്റംബര്‍ 13 ന് ആണ് കേസിനാസ്പദമായ സംഭവം. കൊച്ചിയില്‍ ഇന്റര്‍വ്യൂവിന് വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തി തന്നെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചെന്നാണ് യുവതിയുടെ പരാതി. അഭിമുഖത്തിനായി എറണാകുളത്തെ ഹോട്ടലിലേക്ക് 29കാരിയേയും പ്രതിശ്രുത വരനേയും ഷക്കീര്‍ വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തി. എന്നാല്‍ പ്രതിശ്രുത വരന്‍ പുറത്തേക്ക് പോയ സമയത്ത് ഇയാള്‍ അപമര്യാദയായി പെരുമാറിയെന്നാണ് യുവതി ആരോപിക്കുന്നത്. പിന്നാലെ എറണാകുളം സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ പൊലീസ്കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്യുകയായിരുന്നു.

ഷക്കീര്‍ സുബാനെതിരായ പരാതിയില്‍ നിന്ന് പിന്നോട്ടില്ലെന്ന നിലപാടിലാണ് യുവതി.അതേസമയം താന്‍ നിരപരാധിയാണെന്നും കെണിയില്‍ കുടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്നും ആരോപിച്ച് ഷക്കീര്‍ രംഗത്തെത്തിയിരുന്നു. യുവതിയുടെ പ്രതിശ്രുത വരന്‍ തന്നെ നിരന്തരം ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ദമ്പതികളുടെ ആവശ്യപ്രകാരമാണ് കൂടിക്കാഴ്ചയ്ക്ക് കൈമാറുയത്. ഇരുവരും തമ്മില്‍ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളുണ്ട്. സാമ്പത്തിക ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകളുണ്ടെന്നും ഓണ്‍ലൈന്‍ പ്രൊമോഷന് സഹായിക്കണമെന്നും ഇവര്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ഇതുവരെ രണ്ട് തവണ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും ഷക്കീര്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

അതേസമയം പരാതിയില്‍ പറയുന്ന ദിവസം ഇരു കൂട്ടരും ഒരേ ടവര്‍ ലൊക്കേഷനിലാണ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതെന്ന് പൊലീസ് അറിയിച്ചു. ഷക്കീര്‍ താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന കൊച്ചിയിലെ ഹോട്ടലിലെ സിസിടിവി ദൃശ്യങ്ങളും പൊലീസ് ശേഖരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തിട്ടും ഷാക്കിര്‍ വിദേശത്ത് തുടർന്നതോടെ പൊലീസ് ലുക്ക് ഔട്ട് നോട്ടീസ് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചിരുന്നു. ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യലിന് ഹാജരാകണമെന്നും പൊലീസ് നിര്‍ദ്ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നു. നേരത്തെ പരാതിക്കാരിയായ സൗദി യുവതിയുടെ രഹസ്യ മൊഴി എറണാകുളം ജുഡീഷ്യല്‍ മജിസ്‌ട്രേറ്റ് കോടതി രണ്ടിന് മുമ്പാകെ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നു.

അഭിമുഖത്തിനായി എറണാകുളത്തെ ഹോട്ടലിലേക്കാണ് മല്ലു ട്രാവലർ ഇവരെ ക്ഷണിച്ചത്. ഹോട്ടലിലെത്തിയപ്പോഴാണ് അപമര്യാദയായി പെരുമാറിയതും പീഡിപ്പിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചതും എന്ന് പരാതിയിൽ പറയുന്നു. 

ഷക്കീർ സുബാനെ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യാൻ വിളിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന് പൊലീസ് അറിയിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ ഇയാൾ സ്ഥലത്തില്ല എന്നാണ് പൊലീസിന് ലഭിക്കുന്ന വിവരം.

Kochi: YouTube vlogger Shakir Subhan, who is popular as 'Mallu Traveler', will return home after the Kerala High Court granted him interim anticipatory bail in the sexual assault case filed by a Saudi woman.

The High Court granted Subhan bail last Friday on the condition he wouldn't leave Kerala under any circumstance and would produce his passport.

In a note he shared on Facebook, Subhan said: "Returning home after a month of adventures and experiences. Looking forward to being reunited with my family, sharing stories and the familiar comfort of my beloved home."

Earlier, Subhan had denied reports that the Ernakulam Central Police had issued a lookout notice against him. Taking to social media, he claimed the news was not true and that there was no need to return home immediately because someone filed a false case. He wrote: "I will return only after completing the things I intended to do when leaving home." He prefaced the note saying he was bound to suffer whatever came against him until he proved his innocence. There were reports that Subhan, who was abroad at the time, had been summoned for interrogation by the police in the case.

As per the complaint, Subhan invited the foreign national to a hotel in Ernakulam On September 13 on the pretext of an interview and attempted to rape her. A complaint was lodged with the Ernakulam Central police. A case under Section 354 (Outraging the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against Subhan, who has over 2.71 million followers on YouTube.

Meanwhile, Subhan has reiterated that the complaint is false. He said he would fight the case with sufficient evidence. He also suspects it was a honeytrap.
