Iron Maiden announce huge North America tour for 2024

The Future Past Tour is officially coming to North America!

Eddie

Heavy metal legends Iron Maiden have finally answered American fans' prayers by announcing that the critically acclaimed Future Past Tou r will be coming to North America in 2024. Following this summer's blockbuster run across Europe (plus a small handful of dates in Canada and a stop-off at Power Trip Festival in California), Maiden recently confirmed that they would be returning to Australia, New Zealand and Japan in the Autumn of next year.

Now, the band have released dates for a full US and Canada tour that'll follow soon after.

“We’re really excited to be bringing The Future Past Tour back to Canada and the United States next year," says Maiden bassist and band leader, Steve Harris. "We know from the reaction of our fans at Power Trip and the shows we played in Canada recently that they really enjoyed hearing new songs from both Senjutsu and Somewhere In Time, and we’ve really enjoyed playing them! Soit’s going to be a great experience for us to visit many other cities across North America and bring this new show to those fans who’ve waited patiently to see it. See you all in 2024!”

“The Future Past Tour is one of the most exciting tours we’ve ever done and to be performing both brand new material and songs that haven’t been played for many years with a mix of fan favourites has been a great experience for both the fans and the band," adds the band's longtime manager, Rod Smallwood. "The energy has been incredible and we can’t wait to continue bringing this amazing and innovative show to fans around the world next year.”

See the full list of freshly announced dates below. As well as those aforementioned dates across the US and Canada, the band will also play Santiago's Estadio Nacional in Chile on November 27. For ticket details, head to the official Iron Maiden website .

The Future Past Tour is a celebration of both Maiden's most recent studio album, 2021's Senjutsu , and the band's classic 1986, sci-fi-powered opus, Somewhere In Time , with Metal Hammer 's Merlin Alderslade giving the show a rave review in Prague, writing in his 4 and a half out of 5 review: "Maiden continue to age like fine wine. Metal remains lucky to have them."

‘Thrillingly, cinematically grand’ … Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden.

Iron Maiden review – showstopping rock theatre and tantalising live rarities

OVO Hydro, Glasgow Deep cuts and under-sung treasures are given their moment in the dry ice from the reliably extravagant and big-hearted band

T ick … Tock … The lights dim and a ticking clock echoes through Glasgow’s Hydro. It heralds the arrival of Iron Maiden , theatrical stalwarts of British metal, and their new show themed on the passing of time. Pairing their 1986 classic Somewhere in Time with 2021’s critically praised Senjutsu , The Future Past tour unearths under-sung treasures from Maiden’s deep discography to give them their moment in the dry ice. With a jump-scare bang, Bruce Dickinson is suddenly centre stage, clad in a steampunk trench and shades, brandishing his mic stand in Matrix-style slow motion.

“Time is on my side!” he roars, as guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers ramp up the tension on atmospheric opener Caught Somewhere in Time. The song hasn’t been played since the late-80s and it feels thrillingly, cinematically grand. Clearly the band agree. Bassist and founding member Steve Harris stalks the back of the stage with a satisfied smirk, egging on drummer Nicko McBrain’s relentless kick drum.

after newsletter promotion

Thunderous punishing basslines … l to r, bassist Steve Harris and guitarist Janick Gers.

A reverent crowd is strapped in for the ride, bouncing at the slightest beckon of Dickinson’s finger. Their loyalty is rewarded by rarely played deep cuts: at the earliest whisper of epic Alexander the Great, phones are held aloft and set to record. The nine-minute historical saga is a showstopper: Smith’s solo has a bluesy touch, grounding the theatrics with a little bit of grit; Harris’s thunderous bassline is punishing. Surely this is Alexander’s ceremonial welcome to Maiden’s stash of setlist staples. But the gambit doesn’t always pay off – Senjutsu’s own epic Hell on Earth is far less riveting, particularly in contrast to Maiden’s battle-worn classics.

Fear of the Dark, however, is a different beast. Boiling with genuine threat, it stands in deliciously bitter contrast to the band’s trademark tomfoolery: just 10 minutes prior, skeletal bogeyman Eddie arrived on stilts to fight Dickinson in a pyrotechnic shootout. But when encore Wasted Years gallops into view and the band teeters dangerously at the stage’s edge, Iron Maiden’s high-wire act between British panto and extravagant metal feels full-hearted and generous, even after all this time.

Iron Maiden Plan Beastly North American Tour for Fall 2022

  • By Kory Grow

On the heels of their 17th album, Senjutsu , Iron Maiden will return to North America next fall for another leg of their ongoing Legacy of the Beast World Tour. The band originally kicked off the trek, which featured sets consisting mostly of fan favorites, in 2019 but paused when the world went into Covid-19-related lockdowns. When the group returns, it will add songs from Senjutsu to the set.

The general ticket on-sale begins on Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. local time on Ticktmaster.com . A fan club presale will launch on Dec. 7, and one for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fans platform will begin the next day; both begin at 10 a.m. local time. Trivium will open all dates from El Paso to Spokane, while Within Temptation will open from Sioux Falls to Tampa. See tickets here .

“We’re really looking forward to our return to North America so we can bring the Legacy of the Beast show to places we didn’t get to in 2019 and to other cities we’ve not played for many years,” Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson said in a statement. “I’m really excited about the new additions and changes to the stage production, and we can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve got planned. The whole band has really enjoyed the Legacy Tour and now we just can’t wait to get back out on the road to play live, have fun and see everyone again!”

Earlier this year, Dickinson revealed to Rolling Stone that he had contracted Covid despite being double-vaccinated, and he encouraged his fans to get the shot. “It is a personal choice,” he said. “Personally, I think people are just very badly advised if they don’t go and get themselves double jabbed as quickly as possible, not for the reasons of going into concerts, but for their own health.”

Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood comments,

“Next summer we will finally get to play the huge European stadium tour for The Legacy of the Beast, and the new show will be even more spectacular so after our visit to Rock in Rio early September 2022 we decided to take it back to our fans in North America too, but in cities or venues we didn’t play in 2019, including some we haven’t visited in many years like El Paso, Spokane, Sioux Falls, Columbus, Hamilton, Ottawa and Greensboro.

We’ll be making a couple of additions and changes to the production and setlist to include some songs from our new album Senjutsu and are making the 2022 version of Legacy of the Beast even more spectacular than the acclaimed original show. You can be sure that we will still be featuring all the “hits” and the key elements of the original tour like the Spitfire, Icarus, Hell, flamethrowers and pyro and the rest – but we will shake it up a bit and Trooper Eddie will have serious competition in the new Senjutsu ‘world’ we are adding.”

Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson adds,

“We’re really looking forward to our return to North America so we can bring The Legacy Of The Beast show to places we didn’t get to in 2019 and to other cities we’ve not played for many years. I’m really excited about the new additions  and changes to the stage production and we can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve got planned. The whole band has really enjoyed the Legacy Tour and now we just can’t wait get back out on the road to play live, have fun and see everyone again! ”

The Legacy of the Beast Tour production and set list is inspired by Maiden’s award-winning free to play mobile game of the same name which is available on iOS and Android platforms at  www.ironmaiden.com/play

A Trooper VIP Hospitality upgrade package is currently being planned and details will be announced closer to the tour dates for any fans who might want to enjoy additional at-show benefits.

I conic British heavy metal veterans Iron Maiden have added a Phoenix date to the North American leg of the Future Past Tour, playing Footprint Center on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, with Mongolian metal greats the Hu.

No further shows will be announced for North America.

The Hu issued a statement saying, “Iron Maiden is the master of the masters of rock music. They are one of the biggest inspirations to us! The way that they create and perform their music is majestic and we still remember the first time we heard their ‘Trooper’ song and felt the deep energy behind each word.”

Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris to play intimate fundraising concert with British Lion this month

Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris’s British Lion side-project have announced an intimate show to raise money for a small venue in the UK.

The concert, which will take place at The Booking Hall in Dover on May 21, hopes to save the venue as the building that houses it is put up for sale.

British Lion will be supported by musician Tony Moore, who previously played with Harris as an Iron Maiden member in the 1970s.

Marketing materials explain: “The owner of the Old Harbour Station which houses The Booking Hall Dover is putting the property up for sale.

“This puts the future of The Booking Hall music venue at immediate threat as there is no guarantee the venue could keep operating under new ownership.

“The likeliest outcome would be that the building would be purchased by developers, meaning no more music venue.”

Stuart Cameron, of The Booking Hall, comments: “It’s fantastic to welcome back to the venue British Lion for a fundraiser show to help us purchase the Old Harbour Station.

“The amount of support the venue has received since announcing our [The Booking Hall and Music Venue Trust] plans to purchase the building and secure the presence of a live music venue forever in Dover, has been overwhelming at times. None more so than when Steve Harris and his team reached out to offer their services free of charge, so that all funds can go straight into making the purchase a reality!

“Also performing on the same evening is Tony Moore, another Iron Maiden legend.

“We can’t thank British Lion, Steve and his team, and Tony Moore enough. It’s incredible to see that our little venue in Dover can get such amazing support from such industry veterans.”

British Lion have also announced a short, intimate European tour.

The band will return to the Cart & Horses in London on May 20, before playing Portugal’s Moto Clube Festival on July 20 and the Sala Custom club in Seville, Spain, on July 21.

When British Lion played the Cart & Horses in January, Metal Hammer journalist Alexander Milas gave the night a perfect five-star review .

Milas called the concert “testament to the love for the live stage and the lifelong commitment of the man on bass to deliver for his fans every night be the gig big or small, wherever, wherever they are”.

Full details of British Lion’s upcoming tour are available below.

Rapper OsamaSon Claims He’s Being Sued by Iron Maiden After Ripping Off Eddie Art

Rapper OsamaSon claims he is being sued by Iron Maiden after ripping off a  Powerslave era piece of Iron Maiden art for the cover of the deluxe edition of his latest album.

As seen below in a screenshot of OsamaSon's Instagram Story (which has since expired), news outlet Kurrco shared the news of the alleged lawsuit . "Iron Maiden is suing me so... ......cover is gone," the rapper wrote, tagging the band's handle.

The X post also shows the artwork for the rapper's  Flex Musix (FLXTRA) deluxe edition album, which was released in February, as well as the Iron Maiden art in question.

Also below is another screenshot, this one from OsamaSon's Instagram Story where he preaches positivity, saying "all love" to Iron Maiden. The rapper also encouraged his fans to stop harassing the metal legends.

The Similarities + Differences in the Pieces of Art

The original piece of Iron Maiden art, features mummified version of mascot Eddie from the chest up, being struck by lightning as he chomps on a chain. It's part of many images tied to the band's 1984 classic  Powerslave , drawn by Derek Riggs.

The version on Osamason's record is a blatant ripoff, mostly recolored to reflect an darker grey Eddie, slightly warped with minor modifications made around the mouth. Rather than being set against a bright blue background with scattered lightning around the mascot, an off-center pink hue surrounds Eddie with darker colors around the top and left borders.

Loudwire has reached out to Iron Maiden's representatives for comment.

About OsamaSon

OsamaSon is a young rapper (birth year is disputed as either 2003 or 2005) currently signed to Atlantic Records.

His first album,  Osama Season , was self-released in July of 2023 and, in December of last year, he made his major label debut with  Flex Musix .

Currently on his first headlining tour, OsamaSon has (at the time of publication) nearly 500,000 monthly Spotify listeners. His most popular track on the platform is "X & Sex," with over seven million streams.

In the music video for the song, OsamaSon is seen wearing a T-shirt from  Facelift Deformation, a brutal death metal band featuring members from Hong Kong and Taiwan. His own logo is also stylized with a visual aesthetic typical of the extreme metal subgenre.

Byron Nelson: Taylor Pendrith seizes maiden PGA Tour win amid Ben Kohles’ tragic finish

CJ Cup Byron Nelson, Taylor Pendrith

Four straight rounds in the 60’s helped Taylor Pendrith win his first PGA Tour victory at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson .

Pendrith fired off a 4-under 67 to beat Ben Kohles by one shot Sunday.

It was quite the dramatic finish, too.

Kohles carried all of the momentum coming into the final hole. He made birdie on 16 and 17 to go from one back to lead by a shot.

It appeared as though Pendrith was going to let his 54-hole lead slip away for the third time in his professional career, handing Kohles the maiden victory.

Then the par-5 18th played out.

Kohles chunked his third shot from the rough just off the green, failing to reach the putting surface.

☠️ pic.twitter.com/f1pUsXS9Li — NUCLR GOLF (@NUCLRGOLF) May 5, 2024

It sadly left some fans calling it a massive choke job.

Meanwhile, Pendrith hit two great shots, setting up a lengthy eagle putt. Despite missing the eagle-3, he left himself with four feet for birdie and 23-under par.

Kohles hit a great second chip, but inexplicably missed his three-foot par putt. It was gut-wrenching to watch.

Pendrith then calmly drained his birdie for his first ever win on the PGA Tour in 74 tries.

“It’s crazy,” Pendrith told Amanda Balionis of CBS Sports. “Ben played great today and birdied 16 and 17. I didn’t hit my best iron shots down the stretch, but a good two-putt on the last was — I feel for Ben making bogey; he played so well today. I’m super thrilled. It’s amazing. I’m shaking.”

Taylor Pendrith (and baby Hayes) reflect on what it means to get that first PGA TOUR victory pic.twitter.com/MNUvPyqaxD — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) May 5, 2024

The Canadian had a rough season entering the week. He had recorded just two Top 10’s and four Top 25’s with six missed cuts, including five in his last eight starts.

Yet, Pendrith fired off the low round of the day Saturday with an 8-under 63. That elevated him atop the leaderboard heading into the final round of play.

He started with a birdie on the first and added another at the par-4 6th. The 32-year-old dropped a shot on 8 but birdied the 9th to turn in 34 strokes.

Pendrith kept it clean on the back nine, adding a birdie at the 12th before he made five straight pars until the final hole.

Winning with family ❤️ A moment @TaylorPendrith will never forget. pic.twitter.com/1SPC6Stn3T — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) May 5, 2024

However, it was his par saves on 16 and 17 that proved to be crucial. He sank a couple of very tricky par putts that could very easily have ended his chances.

“I had a jumper on 16, and that first putt – I thought if I played it too high, it wouldn’t come back, so that was a huge save,” Pendrith said. “On 17, I hit a really good shot, and it spun off the front. I had an awkward stance, but I curled in that putt the last second there, which was unreal, to give me a chance. Obviously, a really good birdie on the last for me.”

With this victory, Pendrith moved all the way up to 34th in the FedEx Cup standings. He also earned his way into the remaining 2024 Signature Events , starting with next week’s Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hallow.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
  • The interval in the movement of trains in rush hour is  90 seconds .
