Santa cruise
We went on the Santa cruise with our two children. It was a wonderful experience, we had assigned seats for the 90 minute cruise. Father Christmas and his helpers where all lovely. They sang songs, gave out colouring activities, drinks and mince pies. All the children got plenty of time with Father Christmas which made it much more special than usual visits to see him in places like shopping centres. We will definitely be back!
Thank you for your lovely review of our Santa Cruise. We're delighted you and your family enjoyed the cruise so much and very much look forward to welcoming you again next year!
We paid £10.50 each for two adults on the lake cruise and the views were well worth it. The journey took over 90 minutes and the bar offering refreshments on the vessel were lovely. We opted for Winter Warmers which are Hot Chocolates with Baileys. Great Trip.
We're so pleased you enjoyed your cruise and Winter Warmer so much! Thank you for your lovely review and five star rating. We look forward to welcoming you again.
If in Windermere I would recommend a trip on the cruise, on a good day the views are stunning as the Lake District has the most stunning scenery in the world. The boat is well maintained and the ride is a breeze. Nice little shop on board as well in case of needing a snack.
Thank you for your lovely review and recommendation. We're so pleased you enjoyed our cruise and hope to welcome you aboard again.
To be honest, we don't normally do lake cruises and the like, but as we were planning to pop up to Ambleside from Bowness for a look around, we decided to take the boat stead of the car - and it made a very pleasant change.
The driver gets to sit back and enjoy the views as well when opting for a cruise instead of the car! We're so pleased you chose to sail with us. Thank you for your lovely review and we hope to welcome you aboard again.
It's lovely on the windermere cruises.it can get busy in summer.we went in august.there was plenty of room on the boat.it was nice to go around the lake and see some of the beautiful scenery.
Thank you for your lovely review of our attraction. We're delighted you enjoyed our cruise and hope to welcome you again.,
I have been on a couple of the Windermere lake cruises. They are a cheap attraction and good for all ages. A good way to take in the picturesque scenery of the lakes. There is a bar on board serving hot drinks and alcohol. We stopped off at Ambleside and then hopped on one a few hours later to come back. Worth the money. Recommend.
Thank you for your five star review and recommendation. We're delighted you contine to enjoy our cruises so much and hope to welcome you in the near future again.

- Lows Sluggish standard engine, too few control knobs and buttons on priciest models, most mid-size rivals offer more truck capability.
- Verdict The Santa Cruz provides pickup-truck traits in a snazzier, comfier package—just don't expect mega off-road capability.
What's New for 2023?
There aren't any notable changes to the Santa Cruz for the 2023 model year. Hyundai does increase the starting price of the entry-level SE trim by $1010 to $26,745. However, it now comes standard with a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, which should reduce the sting of the price hike since those driver assists weren't even offered on the SE last year. Other equipment changes include the 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system trickling down to the SEL Premium (previously it was reserved for the Limited trim). Likewise, the SEL Premium now has adaptive cruise control with GPS-based curve control, more advanced voice-recognition software, and the ability to automatically match the posted speed limit. The paint colors Ice White and Mojave sand have been replaced by Atlas White and California Sand, respectively. For folks who want a semi-sinister-looking Santa Cruz, there's a new Night model. Its appearance is distinguished by black 20-inch rims, a dark grille, as well as black-painted door handles, mirror caps, and side steps. Even dressed this way, though, the Santa Cruz is hardly intimidating.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz starts at $27,035 and goes up to $41,905 depending on the trim and options.
The Santa Cruz is available in five trim levels with various features. We think the SEL Premium is the one to get. Unlike the lesser SE and SEL, it has a more powerful engine along with fancier equipment that includes standard all-wheel drive. The system is a $1500 option on the lesser trims. The SEL Premium comes with standard LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with navigation and enhanced voice commands, and adaptive cruise control with GPS-based curve control.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The Santa Cruz comes with two different powertrain choices. The standard setup is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. However, based on the languid acceleration it provided the Tuscon crossover we tested , this entry-level engine is best avoided. The upgraded engine is a turbocharged 2.5-liter four with 281 horses and 311 pound-feet. Its added power and punchier responses are much better suited to the Santa Cruz. Both engines mate to eight-speed automatics, but the turbo option partners with the dual-clutch variety. All-wheel drive is also offered with both four-cylinders. The Santa Cruz is shorter and lower than its segment rivals, which helps make it easier to maneuver around town. The top-of-the-line Limited model we drove showcased the truck's refined ride and agile handling.
Towing and Payload Capacity
Although the unibody Santa Cruz isn't able to tow as much as its body-on-frame rivals such as the Jeep Gladiator and Toyota Tacoma , it can pull just as much as the only other unibody in this class, the Ridgeline. Both trucks are capped at a 5000-pound towing capacity, but that's with the Hyundai's more powerful turbocharged engine. The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder is only rated to tug up to 3500 pounds.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
Equipped with the base engine and front-wheel drive, the 2023 Santa Cruz is rated at 22 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Adding all-wheel drive drops its highway figure by 1 mpg. The turbocharged version has estimates of 19 mpg city and 27 highway. We ran a turbocharged Santa Cruz on our 75-mph fuel-economy route, which is part of our extensive testing regimen , and it returned 30 mpg highway. For more information about the Santa Cruz's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website .
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Inside, the Santa Cruz has one of the nicest cabins among mid-size pickups. Hyundai has made a habit of building vehicles with attractive materials and desirable modern features that would look right in costlier vehicles. It's the first truck in its class to offer a fully digital gauge cluster, and we appreciate that it has a traditional shifter on the center console instead of a finicky rotary knob or push-button setup. The Santa Cruz is only available with a four-door crew cab, and passenger space in the front and the back is competitive with similarly sized trucks. Its cargo bed is one of the shortest in the segment at about four feet long, but it's very versatile, with a lockable tonneau cover and a useful in-bed trunk that's similar to what the Honda offers.
Infotainment and Connectivity
Hyundai ensures its pickup truck is outfitted with a contemporary infotainment system in the form of a standard 8.0-inch or an available 10.3-inch touchscreen. However, we think the company's decision to omit any physical controls is a misstep. Along with wireless device charging, the Santa Cruz offers wireless pairing for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Those who want an upgraded stereo can opt for the eight-speaker Bose sound system. With Hyundai's Blue Link services, which are provided free of charge for three years, users can start the truck, lock and unlock doors, and more remotely via the Internet, myriad apps, and even Amazon Alexa.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Overall safety rating (nhtsa).
The Santa Cruz offers an array of driver-assistance technology , including a standard driver-attention warning and optional adaptive cruise control. For more information about the Santa Cruz's crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ( NHTSA ) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety ( IIHS ) websites. Key safety features include:
- Standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking
- Standard lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist
- Standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
Hyundai—along with its corporate counterpart, Kia —has long offered one of the best warranty plans in the industry, with especially noteworthy powertrain coverage. The company also offers complimentary scheduled maintenance that bests mainstream rivals such as Toyota .
- Limited warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles
- Powertrain warranty covers 10 years or 100,000 miles
- Complimentary maintenance is covered for three years or 36,000 miles

Very Merrytime cruises are a wonderful way to spend the holidays in a tropical paradise. The fleet is decked out in festive decorations, with Disney characters dressed for the holidays. Each year, these special sailings also include fun activities and entertainment to enjoy. And Disney just shared a first look at the entertainment guests can expect onboard Very Merrytime cruises this year — including some new additions!
This year, on the first night of all Very Merrytime sailings, guests can gather around the massive three-deck-tall tree in the atrium for a tree lighting ceremony. The event will include appearances from Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy, who will invite guests to sing along with classic holiday tunes as you count down to the lighting of the tree. Santa will even make an appearance as the guest of honor!
Another new addition this year will be Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday Party, where guests will be invited to the upper decks for a high-energy party thrown by Mickey and Minnie. The event will include music and appearances from your favorite Disney characters.

The Disney Fantasy will also offer a variety of four-night Very Merrytime sailings to the Bahamas in 2024, along with longer six- and seven-night itinerary options. Select voyages on the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy will even include a stop at Disney’s newest private island destination, Lighthouse Point !
Meanwhile, the Disney Magic will offer select Very Merrytime sailings from four to six nights out of Galveston, Texas, sailing you and your group through the Caribbean.

2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz
2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz Review
- Comfortable ride quality and agile handling
- Powerful turbocharged engine option
- Impressive assortment of technology features
- Thoughtful features integrated into cargo bed
- Flat seats and limited legroom in the rear
- Compromised rear visibility
- Upper trims are pricey
What's new
- Additional safety features now standard on all trims
- SEL Premium gets larger touchscreen, adaptive cruise among other new features
- New Night edition package adds exterior blackout treatment
- Part of the first Santa Cruz generation introduced for 2022
Further proof that automotive trends are cyclical, the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz has helped resurrect the compact pickup, a species that largely disappeared after the 1980s mini-truckin' boom flamed out, with its survivors relegated to service with landscapers and pool cleaners. But the Santa Cruz takes us back to when stubby short-bed pickups roamed the highways with small, fuel-efficient engines still capable of heavy lifting.
Cost to Drive Cost to drive estimates for the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz SE 4dr Crew Cab SB (2.5L 4cyl 8A) and comparison vehicles are based on 15,000 miles per year (with a mix of 55% city and 45% highway driving) and energy estimates of $3.55 per gallon for regular unleaded in North Dakota.
The Santa Cruz twists the formula, though. Where old compact trucks offered two doors, bench seats, and a longer bed atop a small boxed truck frame, the Santa Cruz is a four-door crew cab with a short 4-foot bed, built atop a car-like platform similar to the Hyundai Tucson SUV. This makes it more comfortable to drive and gives it better handling than a traditional small truck. The Santa Cruz's base engine isn't particularly exciting, but a strong turbocharged engine is optional and boosts the truck's maximum towing capacity to 5,000 pounds. Thoughtful features, such as a cargo bed storage well and sliding bed top, come in handy for storing items out of sight or carrying extra supplies.
This year, Hyundai is making a few noteworthy changes to the Santa Cruz. Blind-spot warning is now standard equipment on the base SE trim, and adaptive cruise control is now standard on the SEL Premium. Previously, you could only get adaptive cruise on a loaded Santa Cruz Limited. Also new for 2023 is the Night trim. It comes with special blacked-out trim and wheels as well as standard turbocharged power and all-wheel drive.
Overall, we like how the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz combines small SUV comfort with some pickup utility. It also has significant advantages over its main rival, the Ford Maverick. For more on how the Santa Cruz stacks up, be sure to read our full Expert Rating below.

Hyundai Santa Cruz vs. Ford Maverick
Your search for a compact pickup will start and end with the Maverick and Santa Cruz. They're broadly similar in price, capability and purpose, so picking one or the other will come down to the details. The Maverick starts at a lower price than the Santa Cruz and comes with a standard hybrid powertrain that gets impressive fuel economy. For its part, the Santa Fe is more comfortable to drive and has a classier cabin.
Hyundai Santa Cruz vs. Honda Ridgeline
The Honda Ridgeline is like a Santa Cruz with more space and capability. It has a car-like unibody design like the Santa Cruz and Maverick, but it's larger and considered a midsize truck rather than a compact. That means a roomier cab and a bigger cargo bed, as well as thoughtful features like a storage bin under the cargo bed useful for stashing valuables, gear, ice, and all manner of items you might prefer to keep out of sight. (The Santa Cruz has a similar storage well.) But for the base price of the Ridgeline, you can get a nicely equipped Santa Cruz.
Hyundai Santa Cruz vs. Jeep Gladiator
This is a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison, although both models are surprisingly similar in price. Like the Ridgeline, the Gladiator is larger and classified as a midsize truck. But it has the same adventure-ready spirit as the Santa Cruz. The Gladiator's truck bed is 5 feet; the Santa Cruz's is a full foot shorter. The Gladiator can also be stripped of its roof and doors, making it an extreme convertible. That said, the Jeep rides like, well, a Jeep. More capable off-road than the Hyundai but a lot less livable on the highway. This really comes down to whether your adventures will be more oriented to dirt or pavement.

2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz First Impressions
There's no arguing that pickup trucks are some of the most capable and versatile vehicles for a variety of people. The problem is, trucks have been getting bigger with every passing generation, and even today's midsize pickups are almost as big as full-size trucks were a few decades ago. There's a new breed of small trucks, and the 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz is leading the charge for those who desire improved fuel economy, a more affordable price and easier maneuverability.
Unlike traditional trucks that feature body-on-frame construction for better towing, hauling and off-road capabilities, the Santa Cruz shares its underpinnings with the Hyundai Tucson, a unibody SUV. It may not have the kind of utilitarian strengths found in those body-on-frame trucks, but the Santa Cruz does benefit from a more comfortable ride quality, better on-road handling, and fewer trips to the gas station.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz isn't alone in its small truck class, though. The Ford Maverick also debuted for the 2022 model year, and we give it high marks for its standard hybrid powertrain that is considerably more fuel-efficient than the Santa Cruz. The Santa Cruz does hold an advantage with its smoother ride and more refined interior, though. There's also the larger and more expensive Honda Ridgeline, our current favorite midsize truck.
The 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz is the best small pickup you can buy today, and that fact shouldn't be diminished by its lack of competition. It delivers a familiar SUV-like driving experience while offering utility from its versatile truck bed, making it an excellent light-duty workhorse.

This isn’t just a flying visit from the man himself either; He’ll be onboard throughout the entire cruise to join in with the fun and deliver a wrapped present to each child personally. There will also be sherry and mince pies for the children’s parents or guardians.
Children under the age of three years old can join the cruise for just £5.85, while for adults and the over-threes, tickets are £11.70. To book a place, call 015394 43360.
