Latinum Mining Mechanics Revealed; TOS Officer Overview

Hello Star Trekkers! As happens occassionally, TOO much happens in preparation for a show. Conversations run long, the community becomes passionate and polarized, and debate occurs. As the ONLY long form format of content within Star Trek Fleet Command, I feel it's our responsibility to allow community feedback, and allow voices to be heard. Part 1 ran long and was all about burning, and therefore forced us into part 2 for the remainder of the show. This show would normally be uploaded a day later, but due to containing TIME SENSITIVE data for Latinum Mining events scheduled today, we're posting both at the same time. Contained within this episode is a breakdown of the newly redesigned Latinum Mining Monday mechanics, complete with ops brackets, milestones, point values and a breakdown of the ships and their mathematical pros and cons for today's leaderboard. Plus an overview of the new TOS officers in PVP, as well as research into a mining officer NOT working as written. This and more in this part 2 of Talking Trek's Sunday night podcast. Enjoy the super sized portion of your favorite STFC podcast!

Carnac's Guide to Star Trek Fleet Command

The Ferengi D’Vor

Carnac | September 10, 2020 June 29, 2020 | Independent Ship , Ships

The Ferengi D’Vor is an ugly, ugly ship, but it’s one that does one thing very, very well. It mines Latinum. And Latinum makes the galaxy go round, or at least it allows you to purchase speed ups, common materials, resources, and ship parts that you don’t otherwise have. And mining Latinum will help you win on Ferengi Monday .

What the Ferengi D’Vor Good At

The D’Vor’s Ship Ability is Latinum Mining – it gives you a bonus in mining Raw Latinum. This starts out at 12,000% at Level 1 and maxes out at 17,500% when you get the ship to level 45. This gives the ship a tremendous advantage in this one area .

Keep in mind that not all Latinum nodes are created equal. Those that require a higher warp range will be higher than the lower systems. Suliban and the Borg space Latinum systems will be even higher. And some nodes are fast nodes, that produce Raw Latinum twice as fast as the other nodes in the system. You’ll be able to spot them by their brightness, and they “twinkle” a little.

Attack Piggy

If you’ve powered up your D’Vor enough, you can turn from a simple Piggy into it’s alter ego … ATTACK PIGGY. It’s really handy in sneaking up on other D’Vors, who won’t tend to see you as a threat. Generally, it takes a ship strength of 100,000+ or more to really do damage. And just about everybody agrees that “Attack Piggy” is fun to say.

It’s only got one weapon, but it’s a kinetic weapon. And to boot, it only fires every other turn. So you’re really only going to be attacking other D’Vors with this.

Crewing the Ferengi D’Vor

The Ferengi D’Vor has one obvious weakness that you discover soon after you launch it. It’s protected cargo is terrible. It gets better as you tier up the ship, but it’s never great, and since there is no dedicated officer who gives you a bonus for mining Latinum, you’ll want to use some of your crew members to increase the protected cargo.

My recommendation for the best D’Vor crew is Joaquin as captain, and T’Pring as one of your officers.

For the third officer, you’ve got a few options. If you’ve got Ten of Ten (the Borg Tribble), then he’s your best bet. His mining speed option is going to make a huge difference in your mining rate.

Refinery

How to Use and Understand the Refinery in Star Trek: Fleet Command

Star Trek Fleet Command is a 4X “explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate” mobile strategy game created by Irish developer Digit Game Studios and published by Scopely and CBS Interactive. Players have the freedom to explore star systems, build ships, mine resources, level up, complete missions, join alliances and battle other players via PvP.

The game follows the Kelvin timeline from the Star Trek franchise, and includes iconic characters from the series: Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, Nero and more! Players can collect and upgrade characters and deploy them on ships for a RPG role-playing game-style element as well.

Today we will be talking about the Refinery, a useful building in the player’s Starbase whose utilities are various.

The Refinery is a building in the player’s Starbase that is generally used to process raw materials and resources such as Gas, Crystals and Ore.

Raw materials are processed and refined in batches. Each batch consists of 3,000, 15,000 or 50,000 when they are 2-star and 1,750 or 12,000 when they are 3-star at level 20. Operations must be at level 22 to utilize two batches of 3-star materials and from here on, the amount to be used in batches keeps increasing exponentially.

Refinery Output

Upon processing these materials, they can then be used to upgrade various ships, buildings and research projects. Some of the materials are listed below.

As you can see, refinery usage is varied and the output is utilized in a lot of ways to help players achieve different goals throughout Star Trek Fleet Command.

The D'vor doesn't really get good until you have have the research from your Galaxy Tree. You'll also have to improve the protected cargo at the same time, which is also beneficial.

There are two ways to get the D'Vor Blueprints. You get 10 D'Vor blueprints in every 30 Day Loyalty Chest. In addition, they can drop as rewards from Epic Armada Packs from Operations level 22-35.

It also comes up for sale from time to time in the store.

There are also only two ways to get the D'Vor Feesha Blueprints. The first is from scrapping the regular D'Vor. This is based not on the tier of the D'Vor, but on the level. So just tiering it up is NOT enough. You must also either spend XP on it or kill hostiles with it to get its level higher.

The other way is to pull out your credit card and pay for it, as it also comes up from time to time in the store.

Raw latinum is refined into parts and latinum to improve the miners and give you more spendable latinum.

Increases the amount of D'vor Feesha Parts gained from refining Concentrated Latinum, and unlocks new refinery options for other types of ship parts.

Raw Latinum

  • View history

Details [ ]

Latinum can be mined throughout the Neutral Zone and the Faction Zones , and best mined with the purpose built Ferengi D'Vor .

Locations of systems & resources are also mostly found at links above.

The base rate on these nodes improves dramatically in higher-level systems. Additionally, they have a 1 in 8 chance of spawning a "rich" raw latinum node, which offers mineing at double the rate. Suliban is a special system and has only rich nodes of various qualities.

It can be refined from level 16 in the refinery on a 22hr cooldown. The refining process converts raw latinum into latinum at a guaranteed rate. The conversion process produces ship parts for the Ferengi D'Vor as a byproduct. See more information at the Official Release Notes .

  1. Latinum antique? : r/startrekfleetcommand

I have found 6, and all of them were in level 25 borg space. 5 of them were after midnight. However, I'm really annoyed because ALL SIX latinum antiques have refined to regular transwarp coils. I have spent 30 days (5 day cooldown between each refine), and gotten nothing out of the already rare spawns. 3.

With the second month of the Borg arc comes a new ship, the Vi'dar Talios. This will be available free to play for every player with a Tier 9 Vi'dar. On day one of the arc you will get a mission that will get you half the blueprints. The second mission should be coming on day 8 of the arc.

The Concentrated Latinum Refinery will give you Latinum and D'Vor Feesha parts. Upgrading your Feesha will improve the results of your Concentrated Latinum Refinery. 5. Mining Basics

You'll need special latinum cells obtained by hitting assimilated traders in Borg space and refining the 'Latinum Antiques" they provide order to gain access to these systems. You'll need a level 4 to 6 Vi'dar to get Rare Latinum Cells. Your Vi'dar will have to be levels 7 to 9 to get Epic Latinum Cells.
