What is your cancellation policy.

Customer Cancellations: Must be requested via calling or emailing no less than 48hrs before trip departure for a full refund. No shows or late arrivals will be charged the full ticket price.

Weather Cancellations : If your trip’s departure may be impacted by weather, our captains will reach out via text and email no less than 2hrs before departure with a weather update. Should the trip be canceled, guests are entitled to be refunded, rebooked, or receive a gift card in accordance with the cancellation policy associated with their ticket.

Is there a bathroom on board?

Yes there is a restroom on board that is cleaned and sanitized daily!

What time should we arrive?

Please plan to arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure for boarding.

Is there parking available?

Yes! We have designated free parking for all of our customers.

Are we allowed to bring food?

Yes! Guests are more than welcome to bring their own snacks or light fare.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

For insurance purposes, outside alcohol is not permitted and may be confiscated for the duration of your trip. Don’t worry, our bar will be fully stocked!

What is available at the bar?

Our bar features a small selection of water, soda, beer, wine, and RTD Cocktails: $1 Water; $3 Coke, Sprite, Diet Coke; $5 Bud Light, Michelob Ultra; $7 Corona, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Moscato, NUTRL Vodka Seltzer, Cutwater Mojito.

How do we get off at the beach?

For our island stops, we use a series of steps from the front of our boat to the sand. Typically, you can step right from the boat/steps to the sand. However, on occasion, it may be up to ankle deep.

What should we wear?

Comfort is key! Swimming is discouraged during the island stop due to strong tidal currents. Guests are encouraged to dress as they feel comfortable for their evening with easily removable shoes for their walk on the beach. Keep in mind, being on the water in the evening is about 10 degrees colder than is forecasted, so a windbreaker or light jacket is always safe.

Is your vessel handicap accessible?

Unfortunately we are not handicap accessible at this time. Guests with limited mobility (i.e. walkers, canes) should call our office prior to booking. A good rule of thumb is if the limited mobility passenger is able to make it up 2-3 standard stairs with assistance. Our crew is always here to help and eager to share our memorable trip with all!

The experience we had at Pier Dolphin Cruises couldn't have been better. The captain and his partner were very knowledgeable , they shared historical information throughout the ride. A TAMPA/ST PETE MUST!!!! From our extremely hospitable and knowledgable crew to the special precautions taken for Covid, this cruise was well worth the comparable price! The cruise was around 2 hours and we came across a few dolphins racing against the boat at the start of our journey, a pod towards the end, and periodic sightings sprinkled throughout. We also saw manatees, stingrays, fish, and the appropriately named bird island. Our captain grew up in the area and told us interesting stories about the surroundings as we got a little tour of the beautiful homes on the water. Our first mate recently graduated after studying marine biology and gave us information about the dolphins, their calves, and answered any questions we had! The boat was COMPLETELY disinfected and they do not pack it to the brim. In fact, my group was alone in the am tour with plenty of space around the boat to walk around. Ultimately, we will be back and totally recommend for others to enjoy this beautiful boating adventure.

Captain Christian is a 4th Generation St. Petersburg Native, and his parents are highly regarded for their 50+ years success in the yachting industry. As early as 8-years-old he began racing sailboats and has competed at the highest levels. While attending Old Dominion University he won a Collegiate National Sailing Championship. Throughout his teen years and early twenties Christian coached sailing and taught thousands of locals how to sail. Returning to the water after a successful career in medical sales Captain Christian is eager to contribute to St Petersburg, getting youth and others on the water. He brings a fresh outlook and energy with the commitment to provide an experience on the water which will be both entertaining and educational.

First Mate McKenzie comes to us with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Education & Conservation from Eckerd College in St. Pete. She will help develop the curriculum for our Eco Tours as well as expand the scope of dolphin education on our daily tours.

Captain Fred Debardelaben

Founded Pier Dolphin Cruises in 1992 and while cruising the waters of Tampa Bay he made friends with the pods of dolphins that follow the Dolphin Queen today. With his vast wisdom, Captain Fred will continue to help train new members of our team.

Wesley Obenshain

A fifth generation Obenshain First Mate Wesley has spent his life in and around the waters of Tampa Bay. From casting off the lines, helping to spot dolphins or serving you a beverage or snack, First Mate Wesley is onboard to make sure you fully enjoy your cruise.

For a relaxing and enjoyable evening, make reservations for a one and a half hour Sunset Cruise sight-seeing through residential waterways and the pristine barrier islands south of Pass-a-Grille. Sunset cruises available by reservation. Please call for availability. 

This cruise is $25.00 for adults and is $12.50 for children 12 years of age and under (plus tax). Parking passes for the meters may be purchased when checking in for the shuttle.The Sunset Cruise is aboard the same 49 passenger Shell Key Shuttle catamaran. 

Reservations are required as departure times vary with the seasons - usually sunset cruises begin approximately one hour before the actual sunset.

Imagine seeing the perfect sunset with a clear line of sight to the horizon on the Gulf of Mexico near St Pete.  Our sunset cruise takes a leisurely boat ride through the residential canals, where you get to see the homes and the mansions. It is also part eco-tour as we take you past the mangroves of St Pete Beach, and the wildlife that flourishes in the mangroves. In addition to the sunset, you will get to see dolphins and manatees, as well as a wide variety of shore birds. Your captain will give you an engaging narration of the background and history of our area, as well as the local wildlife. Our beautiful waters here in St Pete make this the perfect sunset cruise. We are very close to St Pete, Clearwater and Tampa.

Our sunset cruise leaves from the Tierra Verde Marina Resort. Like our other tours, our sunset cruises are strictly small group, semi-private excursions, with a maximum of 6 passengers per vessel. And with your captain as your host, you will get a more personal and memorable experience on our sunset cruises compared to the larger commercial boats. Food and drink are welcome onboard, so bring your favorite cocktail and store them in our coolers. Our boats offer plenty of room to spread out in comfort. We also provide blankets during the cooler months for your comfort. The 2 hour tour ends back at the Tierra Verde Marina, and you can then take a short walk over to the Island Grille Restaurant , or the Marriott rooftop lounge, Vista At The Top .
