Take That at Home Park in June 2024

One of the UK’s most successful bands, Take That, have announced their return with a huge stadium and arena live tour for 2024 alongside news of their ninth studio album This Life , set for release 24th November.

To celebrate the news further, Take That have also unleashed their brand-new single Windows which is out NOW!

This Life On Tour will see the trio - Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald – play 29 dates across 15 cities around the UK and Ireland and will arrive at Plymouth’s Home Park Stadium on Tuesday 4 June.

They will be joined on the tour by very special guest, Olly Murs.

For a full list of tour dates, please see below.

Those who pre-ordered new album This Life from the official store here before 10am on 26th September will have received a special code to access pre-sale tickets from Wednesday 27th September at 9.30am.

Tickets will go on general Friday 29th September at 9.30am from here

Gary Barlow said on the Home Park gig "When you play a venue you’ve never played before, you know you’re probably playing to a few people who haven’t seen you before. "Because not everyone can travel to the gigs, but if you’re in their hometown, they’re more likely to come down to see you. "It’s just exciting to know that [might be the case this time] – and Devon is a lovely part of the world. It’s beautiful there."

Take That are renowned for their huge productions and incredible live shows, and currently hold the record for the most performances at London’s The O2 with 34 headline shows.

2011’s Progress tour broke box office records by selling over 1 million tickets in less than 24 hours, becoming the biggest tour in the UK and earning them a place on Billboard’s annual ‘Top 25 Tours’ list, placing third worldwide.

In 2019, the band celebrated their 30th anniversary with the 38 date sell-out Odyssey tour which saw them play to 29 arenas and 9 stadiums, selling over 650,000 tickets.

Take That’s brand new single, Windows , out now - sees them reunite for their first original composition in over five years.  Windows , is a beautiful track which tells the story of emerging from the darkness into the light.  As a familiar falsetto rings out across the opening notes of Windows , it signals a new era for one of Britain’s best selling bands, Take That ; an era brimming with energy, creativity and a continued desire to challenge and surprise.

The musicality of Windows hints at what listeners can expect from This Life , the band’s ninth studio album and their first since 2017’s Wonderland . Beautiful melodies, soaring choruses, sophisticated harmonies beautifully blending the trio’s voices permeate the new album, due for release on 24th November.

“It’s been a wonderful experience being back in the studio together making this record. It has that feeling of spreading your wings, letting out the old and bringing in the new” commented the band. 'We’re incredibly proud of the new album - there’s a sense of togetherness, whether that’s us coming back together as a band or people wanting connection in their own lives.  We’re excited for this new chapter!”

Throughout the writing and recording process, the band honed this new sound in some of music’s most hallowed halls, including New York’s Electric Lady Studios and Nashville’s Historic RCA Studio A which between them have hosted David Bowie, Dolly Parton, The Beach Boys, Adele, Taylor Swift, Maggie Rogers and more.

Christian Kent, Head of Venue, Hospitality and Events, said: "We are delighted to welcome one of the finest bands this country has ever seen to Home Park Stadium. "After the Rod Stewart and Muse shows last summer, it is brilliant to have such a well-loved and well-renowned group come to Plymouth, once again. Our stature as one of the premier venues in the South West continues to go from strength to strength, and welcoming artists of this level only further underlines that. "We look forward to Take That and Olly Murs appearing at Home Park next June and are sure the people of the South West are equally excited by this announcement."

Disabled tickets can be booked by either calling 01752 907700 or visiting the Home Park Ticket Office during opening hours.

If you require any additional support, our Disability Liaison Officer, Daniel Pippen, can be contacted on [email protected]. *Please note - These are available from Friday 29 September.

General admission tickets are sold exclusively on the Ticketmaster, Take That and Gigs and Tours websites, and guests are informed that the Home Park Ticket Office will not be able to support or process concert ticket purchases.

In order to allow the ticketing team to continue to process demand for other events and Argyle home and away fixtures, we ask that supporters do not contact the Home Park Ticket Office to purchase Take That tickets unless they are eligible for a disabled ticket.

Rotherham United 0-1 Plymouth Argyle: Bali Mumba strike confirms Millers' relegation from Championship

ROTHERHAM 0-1 PLYMOUTH HIGHLIGHTS

Rotherham's inevitable relegation from the Championship was confirmed on Friday night after they were beaten 1-0 by Plymouth.

The Millers would have had to win all of their six remaining games to have even moved level on points with 21st-placed Argyle by the end of the season - and that is before factoring in other results and their vastly inferior goal difference to any of the teams around them.

Their fate was sealed by Bali Mumba's classy first-half strike, which ensured a return to League One after two seasons back in the second tier.

Rotherham remain bottom of the table with five games to play, 16 points behind Sheffield Wednesday in 23rd and an unassailable 19 from safety.

Plymouth, meanwhile, move up to 19th, four points clear of the relegation zone.

How Plymouth sealed Rotherham's fate

It goes without saying that it was a big night at the New York. Only a win would keep Rotherham's hopes of a survival miracle intact, while victory for Plymouth - who had sacked head coach Ian Foster on Easter Monday - would give their own hopes of retaining their place in the division new life.

take that tour plymouth argyle

The visitors quickly began to show why it was they who had a genuine chance of staying up; Rotherham - who were restricted to long shots - survived a chaotic scramble in the box, before Hakeem Odoffin threw himself in the way of a low effort from Callum Wright, who headed a cross just wide of the post soon after.

Just after the half-hour, Plymouth edged into a valuable lead. Morgan Whittaker's floated cross flew over the mistimed jump of Sebastian Revan to Mumba, who took a series of neat touches and fired past Viktor Johansson at his near post.

take that tour plymouth argyle

Plymouth tried to get into the groove after the break. Johansson got fingertips on a ferocious drive from Whittaker, before Callum Wright, Jordan Houghton and Cameron Humphreys hit shots straight at him.

At the other end, Rotherham came closest to levelling when Revan outmuscled Mumba on the right, cut inside and forced Michael Cooper to make his only real save of note throughout the entirety of the match.

Argyle should, arguably, have put the game completely to bed late on. Johansson saved from Dan Scarr, before the post denied Ben Waine a split-second later, and the goalkeeper later sent another shot from Waine around the post. But with no real threat from the hosts, before long, three vital points were in the bag.

Richardson: A bitter pill to swallow

take that tour plymouth argyle

Rotherham head coach Leam Richardson told Sky Sports:

"It's very, very disappointing. As I've said in previous interviews, you feel straight away for the fans. In my view, in competitive sport, your habits always catch up to your performances and from pre-season, from the first game onwards, this club has been chasing its tail a little bit and the writing has been on the wall for some time. It was just a matter of when and if.

"It's a tough pill to swallow right now, but we've been there before and we've always come back stronger. It's important we come together in many forms, in many departments around the football club.

"Having to run with probably 64 per cent of the availability of the squad for a large part of the time I've been here in the Championship, as competitive as it is, is a tough challenge.

"As a manager, you always want to leave the place better than when you found it. You always try and control the controllables, but there have been many things out of my control which I'm trying to take control of to move forward and be proactive.

"I spoke to the chairman within two weeks of getting the job to give my views and there's nothing that hasn't happened that we didn't speak about. He's very buoyant, he's got a plan for the football club and going forward together, I'm sure we'll be stronger."

Nancekivell: We're delighted, but it's only three points

Plymouth first-team coach Kevin Nancekivell told Sky Sports:

"We just wanted to take a little bit of the pressure off the players so they could go and be themselves and enjoy it. They did in parts; I thought we had to defend and got a bit nervous at times, but that's to be understood so we're really delighted to get the three points.

"It's three massive points, we can't hide from that, but it is only three points. We've still got a lot to do, so we'll look forward to Tuesday now, with a little bit of a spring in our step against QPR and hopefully we can repeat it. We'll get back to work on Sunday and crack on at QPR.

"It's always traumatic when a manager loses his job and the players, staff and the whole club feel that. We have to move on. The perfect response today was what we got, so we look forwards now, not backwards."

What's next?

Plymouth are back in action at 7.45pm on Tuesday April 9, when they face fellow strugglers QPR at Home Park.

Rotherham return the following night, when they travel to The Hawthorns to take on West Brom at 8pm.

Both matches will be available to watch live on Sky Sports Football Red Button .

Plymouth vs Leicester City predictions

Leicester City have lost their last two away games in the Championship.

They somehow haven't gone on to lose three in succession since 2022, as they've had such a long run of form in the league but even in the Premier League.

They last lost three in a row back in 2022, between August and October.

Plymouth have picked up four points in their last two Championship games winning once and drawing another.

That's as many as they did in their previous nine combined in a very poor run of form that saw them slip down the table right into a relegation battle in the final few games.

They now have to face the top of the table in a crucial game of promotion and survival.

📝 Plymouth vs Leicester City betting tips

Leicester have dipped in form, while Plymouth have done well in their last two, but it should go back to the usual in this game with Leicester City determined to take a definitive step into the title.

Leicester City to win, over 2.5 goals - 51/50

Leicester have lost five games recently which is more than they lost in all games from the start of the season up until March.

Leicester rarely draw either with just four in their 41 matches played so far this season.

Argyle have lost as many as 19 already along with 12 draws, which could see them battle it out against a nervy Leicester City.

But Leicester beat Plymouth in the reverse fixture 4-0 and there could be a few goals in this one too as Argyle have conceded the fourth-most goals in the league.

Whereas Leicester have scored the second-most in the Championship with 79, while only conceding less than a goal per game on average.

⚽ Tip Leicester City to win, over 2.5 goals at 51/50 with BetVictor ⚽

Vardy and Dewsbury-Hall to score - 5/1

Jamie Vardy is the top scorer for the Foxes this season with just 32 appearances, he's netted 16 goals in that time even with a fair few brief substitute appearances.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has netted 12 goals and assisted 13 for a fantastic goal contribution rate.

The pair could be crucial in the final couple of games and should find themselves on the scoresheet once more.

⚽ Go for Vardy and Dewsbury-Hall to score at 5/1 with BetVictor ⚽

The Comprehensive Guide to Moscow Nightlife

  • Posted on April 14, 2018 July 26, 2018

  • 8 minute read

take that tour plymouth argyle

Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

take that tour plymouth argyle

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

take that tour plymouth argyle

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

take that tour plymouth argyle

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

In a nutshell, that is all you need to know about where to meet Moscow girls in nightlife. There are tons of options, and it all depends on what best fits your style, based on the type of girls that you’re looking for.

Moscow: City Sightseeing by Car/Bus

Visiting a new city is akin to going on a first date, it is something you will never forget. Many people imagine Moscow as just a bunch of sporadic landmarks: Red Square, the Kremlin, Lenin’s Mausoleum and GUM. There is so much more to this wonderful city than that and even though we only have a few hours, we will do all we can to show you everything we know and love about our capital in one fell swoop. We will take you on a journey through the ages, from centuries ago, right up to the modern day, soaking in the sights of this vast and bustling metropolis. Bright, luxurious and both ancient and modern at the same time, Moscow invites you on a date you’ll never forget!

On our sightseeing bus tour of the city, you will see:

  • The wonderfully historic city centre and its unique museums, magnificent cathedrals, the exquisite Chambers of the Romanov Boyars and of course, the famous towering red brick walls of the Kremlin, The charming beauty of the Alexander Garden awaits the capital's guests - a lush green oasis in the midst of the glass and concrete clad metropolis, basking in the etherial aura emanating from the whitewashed stone walls of the restored Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, the world- renowned fairytale onion domes of St. Basil's Cathedral and other impressive monumental buildings such as the library built in Lenin's honour - the Russian State Library - and the State Duma.
  • The Lubyanka KGB headquarters is notorious to members of older generations and although nowadays, the face of the secret police has changed dramatically, the looming enigmatic building on the waterfront maintains its aura of mystery, shrouded in a variety of murky rumours and dark myths. Then, there’s another of Moscow's main attractions - the marvellous Bolshoi Theatre, yew simply cant leave Moscow without taking in its breathtaking architecture. Engrained in the fabric of Russia's cultural heritage, virtuoso performers such as prima ballerina Galina Ulanova, opera singer Feodor Chaliapin and pianist, composer and conductor Sergei Rachmaninoff once stood centre stage of this vaunted institution.
  • The memorial complex on Poklonnaya Hill was constructed in the glory and honour of our heroes who defended our nation in the many crucial battles of the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This is a place that embodies a particularly acute and inextricable link between older ancf younger generations. Moving on to the Moscow International Business Centre, not dubbed ‘Moscow City' for nothing, a true glimpse of the future in the present. This incredible, rather jaw-dropping project in the capital has shown that Moscow has come to accept the age of the skyscraper. Finally, the stunning views from the observation deck at Sparrow Hills will leave professional and amateur photographers alike itching to capture them. How could one resist?

The most beautiful of all the world's cities - lady Moscow invites you out on a date!

Attraction will swap your trainers for tickets after Sunak blow

Anyone who feels they can no longer wear the shoes can get two free tickets for admission

  • 12:02, 11 APR 2024

take that tour plymouth argyle

The London Dungeon has launched a Sunak Samba Amnesty, offering two free tickets to those who feel they can no longer wear their trainers after the prime minister’s admission that he is a big fan. The offer comes as the prime minister was pictured sporting a pair during an interview at Downing Street, before stating that he loved the trainers and owned many pairs of Adidas shoes.

A London Dungeon spokesperson said: “The once iconic trainers are on the outs with, well everyone, after Sunak donned a pair this week, officially administering the kiss of death to the much-loved shoe. We see this offer as our very own ‘fulsome apology’ to former Samba wearers.

"Don’t pop them in the bin, bring them to the London Dungeon and we’ll do our best to take your mind off the pain of parting with them as you step away from the horrors of the present and into those of the past!”

The attraction will donate any trainers handed in during the amnesty to a local charity to ensure they reach a good home. The offer will run for one day only, this Saturday 13 April, granting two free tickets per pair of Sambas turned in.

Those who don’t have a pair of Sambas but would like to visit anyway can book tickets online in advance at www.thedungeons.com/london .
