The entire process of booking the package was smooth and hassle-free. A few sightseeing places were added to the itinerary as per our requirement. As per the schedule I and my friend were picked up from our place in Delhi around 6:30 am and reached Jaipur around 12 pm. Checked-in the hotel and rested for some time and left for sightseeing in Jaipur. We covered Hawa Mahal, Albert Hall, and Birla Mandir. In the evening we went to Chokhi Dhani village, it is basically a theme park showcasing the rural and traditional side of Rajasthan. We had an amazing food experience with local food and a humble serving. On the second day, after a delicious breakfast, we visited Amber Fort, Nahargarh Fort, and Lake Mahal. The next day we left for Delhi, it was one of the best Rajasthan tour packages that we got from TravelTriangle.

Places to visit in Rajasthan
Here we list the places to visit in Rajasthan some of which are big-ticket attractions.
Best time to visit Rajasthan
Ahead of planning your holiday, it makes sense to look up the best time to visit Rajasthan , so that you know which is the most favourable time to travel. Summer time in Rajasthan could be arid, and may not be the best time to visit, while winters are an ideal time for visit with warm sunshine filling the days enabling sightseeing and desert safaris in Jaisalmer. The weather of Rajasthan can be divided into three predominant seasons:
Rajasthan in winter (November to March)
This is invariably the best time to visit the desert state. The day temperature stays rather mild, rising to up to 30 degree Celsius for most parts. The nights are, however, quite chilly with the temperature dropping to a 5 degree Celsius or lesser. The days offer perfect atmospherics to explore around, visit the forts, museums, galleries and the old town markets. Winter is also the time for some of Rajasthan’s colourful festivals, happening across various cities. Some of the significant ones being the Jaipur Literature Festival, Camel Fair, Udaipur World Music Festival and Pushkar Fair to name a few that happen in this season.
Rajasthan in monsoon (July to September)
Rajasthan receives rainfall owing to the western disturbances and the south-west monsoon. Rajasthan has an interesting topography with the Aravalli range running across the desert state from Guru Shikhar in the southwest to Khetri in the northeast, dissecting the state in a 60 by 40 ratio, with 60% of Rajasthan lying to the northwest of the range and 40% of it falling to the southeast. It lies parallel to the southwest monsoon winds that come rolling in, the mountain range failing to intercept them, leading to a dry and sandy northwest region. The eastern and southeastern parts of Rajasthan being more fertile on the contrary. You can plan a trip to Rajasthan in the monsoon months keeping the mentioned facts in mind. Depending on which part of Rajasthan you are headed to, you might even experience lush greenery, a mizzle of rain, and peacocks dancing about. Several cultural events are also planned around this time of the year, such as the Teej festival celebrated in the rainy months.
Rajasthan in summer (April to June)
Rajasthan summers are hot and stark, with day temperature soaring to a 48 degree Celsius. Blistering heat makes travelling around in this season a challenge, though evenings are considerably cooler, yet you cannot venture anywhere in the daytime. Jaisalmer skirting the Thar Desert experiences an extremely harsh weather, making it a definite off-season. However, if you have a summer trip in mind, you could make an itinerary revolving places like Mount Abu, Rajasthan’s only hill station, see the Dilwara temples of Ranakpur, travel to Kumbalgarh, explore its iconic fort, the lake city of Udaipur among a few other places, though the Lake Pichola dries up in the summer. Come well equipped with sunscreen lotions, sunglasses, hats, full-sleeve cotton clothes for a summer trip to the desert state.

Which are the best romantic places to visit on a Rajasthan tour?
Here is a list of some of the most romantic places you explore as part of your Rajasthan tour packages: 1. Udaipur: One of the best places included in Rajasthan packages, Udaipur, with its many lakes and palaces, makes for the perfect honeymoon destination for couples. You can walk through the many forts that have a rich history, or simply watch the lights of the city reflected in the lakes as you enjoy a meal in an open-air restaurant 2. Jaisalmer: Jaisalmer is one of the most iconic places in Rajasthan, where you can ride camels, camp in the desert, go shopping, explore the forts, and have as many authentic Rajasthani experiences as you possibly can with your significant other, and this should be a part of your Rajasthan tour packages that spells magic 3. Mount Abu: Mount Abu is a natural paradise, with its mountains and hills and stretches of greenery where you can lounge, trek or hike. It is also home to several quaint resorts that offer romantic services such as candlelight dinners and couples’ activities. 4. Jodhpur: The natural rusticity of Jodhpur makes it the perfect recluse for couples who want to spend some time with each other amid nature. Jodhpur also has many luxury resorts and heritage monuments, which makes for a colorful stay. Make sure you have enough time in the itinerary of your Rajasthan holiday packages to include this.
What are the best places to visit in Rajasthan with family?
Here is a list of some of the most cherishable places to visit with your family in your Rajasthan tourism packages:
1. Ranthambore National Park: Almost all comprehensive Rajasthan tour package for families include a trip to the Ranthambore National Park. This National Park has one of India’s largest tiger populations, along with other exotic animals like deer, peacocks, lions, etc.
2. Amber Palace: Amber Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an architectural gem that brings together the styles of Rajputs and Mughals. The palace is located on the top of the hill overlooking the Maota Lake and is surrounded by lush green gardens. To engage kids and teach them about the historical past of Rajasthan, Amber Palace hosts a light show every evening.
3. Hawa Mahal: Witness the architectural brilliance of Hawa Mahal and its unique pyramidal structure similar to the crown of Krishna with Rajasthan tour package . Thanks to the windows and jharokhas, the palace enjoys amazing ventilation and hence is named Hawa Mahal which means ‘Palace of the Winds’. Younger ones of the family are sure to have fun looking out of the windows and walking up the ramps to different floors of the Mahal.
4. Mehrangarh Fort: History buffs looking for attractions in Rajasthan travel packages that reveal the grandeur of Rajput architecture must visit Mehrangarh Fort. What to buy in Rajasthan?
Rajasthan is a paradise for those looking for souvenirs. Some of the most special things you buy from here include: 1) Authentic gemstones and jewellery from Jaipur: Your Rajasthan Package must include a visit to the famous Johari Bazaar in Jaipur, known to be a paradise for jewellery lovers. In this bazaar, you will not only find gold and silver jewellery but will also feel ecstatic finding hand-cut precious and semi-precious stones and gems such as Ruby, Garnets, Emerald, Amethyst, Topaz, etc. Try out some local variants such as kundans, carved trinkets or Meena work in necklaces, headgears, cuffs, anklets etc. 2) Special Lehariya sarees: Saree lovers will surely like to add a Rajasthani Leheriya saree to their collection. The design pattern on these sarees has been inspired by the vast stretch of the desert landscape of Rajasthan. You can get the Lehariya saree in two patterns - either as Mothra showcasing a crisscross look or as Samudra leheriya resembling broad stripes. Choose from different fabric options such as Pure Silk, Cotton, Chiffon, Georgette etc. 3) Colourful Bandhani dupattas: Another item popular with the ladies of Rajasthan is a Bandhani dupatta. Bandhani, also known as tie and dye textile, is a type of work where designs are made of pieces of cloth by plucking cloth with fingernails to create tiny bindings that form a figurative design and then dipping them in the dye. The colourful dupattas of Rajasthan are sure to make you crave to purchase a few for yourself and a few as souvenirs for others. 4) Meenakari work items: Jaipur is the main hub of Meenakari work and you must look out for items with this work during your Rajasthan Tour. Meenakari work is an art of painting or embellishing various types of metals with vibrant colours and motifs of flowers, birds and leaves. It is made of coloured glass powders and can appear opaque, transparent or translucent. You can come across endless items with meenakari work such as jewellery, bells, key chains, trays, boxes etc. 5) Embroidered bed sheets: You must take back with you some embroidered bedsheets from Jaipur. These Bedsheets are those which are artistically hand-woven in vibrant colour and stylish designs. Upgrade the décor of your bedroom by decorating them in Rajasthani style using these bedsheets. 6) Jaipuri handcrafted handbags: The beautiful multi-coloured Jaipuri handcrafted handbags will surely catch your eye during your Rajasthan tour and tempt you to purchase one or two to add to your collection. These bags are well known for their aesthetic look, lightweight and fine finish. You can buy them in various shapes, sizes and hues, each having a distinct design portraying the Rajasthani lifestyle. 7) The famous Blue pottery: One of the famous things to purchase in Rajasthan is the blue pottery, available throughout the state. Purchase a few of them to liven the beauty of your home. The reason for the beauty of these potteries lies in the material used in crafting them. Unlike normal pots which are made of clay, these items are made with Multani mitti, sodium sulphate, quartz and raw glaze. 8) Mojiris: Mojiris are Rajasthani footwear which is also known as Jodhpuri Juttis. You will be delighted to own one of these colourful footwear with patterns in them adding a tinge of royalty. Made of pure leather, the Mojiris are available in different shapes such as Chota panja, gol-panja or Salem shahi. 9) Rajasthani snacks and desserts.: Your Rajasthan Tour will remain incomplete if you do not taste some of the famous desserts and snacks. Rajasthani snacks are mostly fried and fiery items such as Mirchi vada, pyaaz kachori, Kanji vada, Kalmi Vada etc. Rajasthani bhujia and mathri are also famous and must be tried once. Rajasthani desserts include sweets made of pure ghee, milk and sugar. A famous sweet of the state is Ghewar.

The summer months, between March to June, can be unbearably hot as temperatures hover between 24°C and 45°C. While evenings may be pleasant, the baking heat makes sightseeing almost impossible during the day. But this is the right time book to Rajasthan tour packages if you’re looking for deals on travel and accommodation.
Monsoon, between July to September, would also be a great time to travel to Rajasthan if you keep an open itinerary as the rains may play spoilsport with your plans. The temperatures range from bearable to hot, 21°C to 35°C. But the rains make it seem cooler than it actually is. The rains wash away the memories of a hot summer as temperatures cool down and Rajasthan emerges refreshed, making it a perfect time for a Rajasthan tour.

How to Reach Rajasthan
Rajasthan is well connected to the rest of the country by air, rail and road. It even enjoys a fair degree of international connectivity. Here are the easiest ways to reach Rajasthan.
Reaching Rajasthan by Air
Reaching rajasthan by rail, reaching rajasthan by road, travelling within rajasthan.
It is the fastest way to reach Rajasthan from around the country as well as the world. Get a head start on your Rajasthan tour by flying in. The Jaipur International Airport services a number of flights from international destinations such as Dubai, Sharjah, Muscat, Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. There are a number of other smaller airports at Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota and Bikaner that handle domestic flights. You can take a flight from major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa, Indore, Guwahati and Jammu.
The second most comfortable way to reach Rajasthan is by rail. It features a good rail network with direct superfast and express trains from Mumbai and Delhi. Jaipur is the headquarters of North-West railways and as such is well-connected with all major cities around the country. Even other cities like Jodhpur, Bikaner and Udaipur receive daily express trains from other parts of the country. If you’re not in a hurry, you can savour the journey before you reach the destination and start enjoying your vacation.
Taking a road trip is a great way to travel to your holiday destination. It gives you greater control over your journey when it is not bound to a restrictive timetable. Rajasthan has a well-maintained network of roads that comprises twenty national highways running through the state. The most well-connected among these is the NH8 which connects Jaipur and Udaipur to major cities like Delhi, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Mumbai. You can also choose to take the inter-state bus services that will take you to your destination in relative comfort.
Intercity travel within the state can be done with state-run and private buses. You can also hire a cab to move between cities for a more comfortable ride. It is an expensive option though. City travel is also sorted as you will find local taxi cabs and auto-rickshaws to zip around. Cycle rickshaws are a slower option but let you take in the sights and sounds of the city at leisure. The tempos are like rickshaws but can accommodate more people. You will find the odd tonga outside monuments and other tourist attractions.
Honeymoon in Rajasthan - A Royal Honeymoon
Before we look at what the state has to offer to the rest of its visitors, let’s find out what a honeymoon in Rajasthan looks like. Rajasthan’s glamour as a honeymoon destination is unmistakable. It certainly has the right credentials as its history is steeped in the tales of legendary love stories. The hilly ambience of Mount Abu is full of cosy nooks and crannies that form a wonderful backdrop for your honeymoon.
Ajmer has a certain magnificence that adds a sense of occasion to your special moments. Jaisalmer has a dreamy aura that seems to have jumped out of the Arabian Nights. Jodhpur’s beauty, apparent in its rustic villages and ancient palaces, makes it a special destination for newlyweds to spend their honeymoon. But it is Udaipur that stands out as a stellar destination for your honeymoon. It offers everything from romantic boat rides to Shikara lunch dates to add pizzas to your special moments of love.

The Blue City of Rajasthan - Jodhpur has a royal bearing that easily matches its bigger cities. The erstwhile centre of power of the old Mewar state is home to several temples, palaces and forts. The Mehrangarh Fort towers magnificently above the city as it keeps watch even today. Be sure to visit the museum within the fort. It is a treasure trove of history that showcases its art, weapons and other artefacts. Other attractions worth checking out are the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswant Thada and Mandore Gardens.
An oasis in the heart of the Thar Desert, Jaisalmer is a treat for the eyes. The Golden City of Jaipur is known for its hardy forts, silky sand dunes and exuberant traditions. The Jaisalmer Fort is the biggest of them all and has an imposing presence. The city comes alive during the annual Desert Festival that celebrates life in the desert. Ranthambore National Park is a magnificent retreat that houses one of the largest wild tiger populations in the world. Winter is the best season to catch a sighting of these elusive beasts. The PadamTalao is a thriving water hole that offers sightings of other wildlife as well. But the thrill of watching a tiger from up close can hardly be matched by any other experiences. The 10th century Ranthambore Palace inside the park stands steadfast in its dilapidated glory. It still has stories to tell. The palace is a UNESCO heritage site that holds tremendous cultural and historical value.
Rajasthan’s only hill station is a traveller’s paradise. It is also an important pilgrimage spot that is home to the famous Dilwara Jain Temples. Perched atop the lush Aravalli Hills, Mount Abu enjoys pleasant weather all around the year. Famous the world over for its annual camel fair, Pushkar is also a buzzing pilgrimage site. It is one of the most ancient cities of India and is also known for its Brahma temple. The city has more than 50 ghats that resound with devotion every day during the evening aartis. You can enjoy activities such as hot-air balloon rides, horse riding and yoga to add to your Pushkar experience. But the highlight of Pushkar has to be the hundred-year-old Pushkar Mela. The city bursts into a riot of colours during the five-day event in November which sees people coming in from far and near. Thar Desert Tourism offers a multitude of activities for the visiting tourist. But the most unique and wonderful experience is camping under the starlit skies which is only achievable when you spend your night in Thar Desert Rajasthan .
Junagarh Fort, Lalgarh Palace, Karni Mata Temple and the annual Camel Festival are Bikaner’s claims to fame. Also known for its rich culinary heritage, it is also a good place to shop for local handicrafts and arts. The city’s collection of forts and palaces are worth exploring for their designs that are brilliant examples of Usta and Chadwaartforms featuring geometric and floral patterns.
The Ajmer Dargah is a popular pilgrimages site visited by people of all faiths. It is a green oasis bordering the Thar desert. The NaagPathar ranges that protect the city from the worst of the heat are one of its main attractions. The Ana Sagar Lake and Nareli Jain Temple are other places of interest here.
Chittorgarh has Maurya ancestry and was around as early as 734 AD. Known for being the birthplace of MaharanaPratap and Meera Bai, it has a great historical significance. Its several heritage forts and monuments echo with history and folklore that became legends. The Chittorgarh Fort, Rana Kumbha Palace, Rani Padmini’s Palace and Kalika Mata Temple are some of the places that you should check out.
Along with all its history, Rajasthan has a rich culinary heritage that has been shaped by its geography. A dearth of water and vegetables have played a big role in determining its cuisine that is dominated by dried lentils, beans and meats. Long-lasting ingredients, oil and red chillies help preserve the food, reducing the need for water. Here are our top three picks of Rajasthani delicacies.
Dal Bati Churma
Pyazki kachori.
It is a signature dish of the region that has forged its own identity over years. The hard, crunchy bati made out of coarsely ground wheat and jaggery, and cooked in ghee, perfectly complements the creamy, savoury dal. It is the classic taste of Rajasthan.
This crunchy, flaky deep-fried snack is a treat for foodies. It is a flat kachori that is stuffed with a spicy onion mixture and served with an assortment of mint, coriander, date and tamarind chutneys. Dahi is optionally added to tone down the fiery notes of the spicy filling.
End your culinary adventure on a sweet note with ghevar, which is a Rajasthani classic. The crunchy wheat base soaks in the ghee and milk toppings and infuses every bite with sweet indulgence. As if it was not rich enough, you can also try mawaghevar and malaighevar which are richer varieties of ghevar that take the satisfaction to the next level.
Shopping in Rajasthan
Rajasthan has a rich artistic heritage that is displayed through its handlooms and handicrafts. The vibrant, over-the-top use of colours is meant to contrast the monotonous desert hues. Shopping in the desert state can be an experience in itself. Here are our recommendations for five things you should buy in Rajasthan.
Metal Crafts
Rajasthani Jewellery makes a bold statement. The large handmade pieces are made to stand out in a colourful traditional ensemble. The intricate Kundan work adds a delicate touch to the daring design. The Rajasthanijutis sport a signature design that makes them instantly recognisable in a crowd. Made of fine leather, they’re decorated with vivid traditional designs that make a statement of their own.
The metal crafts of Rajasthan are in a league of their own. Bichi, Chikan and Maori are some of the famous metal crafts of the region which combine bright colours and intricate patterns with traditional metal works.
Rajasthan’s blue pottery is a masterclass of design that can instantly liven up your dinner table. The lovingly crafted designs over a blue background are glazed and serve a practical purpose by protecting the pottery from cracking.
Rajasthan is one of the best places in the country to buy ethnic carpets. Carpets here are woven out of wool, cotton yarn and camel hair. The intricate designs are mesmerising to look at and make a great addition to any home.
