They will speak with you in-depth about your current symptoms, as well as take a detailed medical history covering other medical conditions, medications, and anything else that could impact the treatment. We offer a variety of treatments, tailored to your needs, from trigger point dry needling to manual therapy. Exercises, stretching, and hot and cold compresses may also be involved. During some stages of physical therapy, you may also be sent home with exercises to perform on your own. Combined, our in-clinic and at-home treatments can help you reach your goals.
Specializing in pelvic health, athletic performance, dance medicine performing arts, and runner’s video gait analysis.
Our sports recovery services include injury evaluations, cold water immersion, red light therapy, and therapeutic massage tune ups. My wife found this clinic for pelvic floor PT after giving birth and I became a patient soon after. Everything about my experience has been great. Scheduling is reasonably quick for new patients. I saw Matt and he methodically and holistically worked with me to reduce my hip pain. He helped me change my posture, adjust my sleeping position and do exercises to strengthen my hips and gluts. It was a process, but I steadily got better. I particularly appreciate how he did research to identify new ways of treating me, truly acting with ownership. To finally heal, he realized I needed pelvic floor support and referred me to Deja, who got me to the finish line. The reception team is friendly and easy to schedule with.
This place is ridiculously expensive. It was cheaper for me to get evaluated at rush oak park and take an X-ray than the cost of one session. Pt was decent .
Had to do a review for my girl, Beth, who specializes in pelvic floor work. Ladies, this is huge for any hip tension, bladder issues, etc. life-changing! After about 5 sessions, my bladder control has improved immensely! Beth is so kind and informative, very passionate and educated on the subject which is hard to find! They take insurance if it's deemed necessary treatment. My copay is only $10. My husband also goes here for physical therapy and loves it! He's worked with several of the PTs and said they were all great compared to others he has had in the past. Highly rec!
Paul Thomas of Impact PT is one of the most incredible physical therapists on the planet. I came to see him with a persistent and puzzling injury that nobody had been able to address for over five months. Paul took to the problem like Sherlock Holmes. He listened carefully to the complete injury history, then proposed a detailed treatment plan that was totally different from everything I had tried. His strategy was spot-on, and I improved significantly even in the first session. Throughout my whole course of treatment, Paul was enthusiastic, focused, and dedicated. He's brilliant, and he truly cares about his patients. Working with Paul gives you real confidence that you WILL recover. More generally, I'm really impressed by the environment at Impact. Liz, Paul, and their team are committed to helping you get back to activity as rapidly as possible - safely, and stronger than ever before.
I was suffering for months with plantar fasciitis and could not figure out how to relieve the pain on my own. Impact Physical Therapy (IPT) and the staff here (Liz, Amanda, Ruth, Josh) saved me! With some physical therapy, the proper tools (stretchy band and lacrosse ball), proper exercises, some needling, time and patience, they were able to help alleviate my pain and make it go away! I travel a lot for work and pleasure so when I could not make it to my weekly physical therapy sessions, Amanda helped me print out some exercises that I could do while traveling. Super thoughtful! They really know how to take care of you here. Make sure to make your appointments in advance because their popular time slots book up fast. Since I'm pretty accident prone I wouldn't be surprised if I end up back here needing PT soon for some other reason. I highly recommend IPT! By the way, the doors here are locked for security so you'll need to press the ringer for someone to buzz you in. I loved this security feature. FYI--this business is covered under insurance; Blue Cross Blue Shield identifies Impact as a physical therapy business called IPT Management Services Inc
I highly recommend Impact Physical Therapy. I have been treated for several different issues at Impact, including knee, hip, hamstring and shoulder. Impact is a great PT place for athletes and active people--I am a highly active person in my late 20s, and the Impact South Loop physical therapists have all been supportive in helping me reach my ideal level of physical activity; when I told them I wanted to mitigate my pain enough to be able to run, they continually worked with me to reach that goal and never suggested that I give it up. I have worked predominately with Liz Yearly, who is an incredibly knowledgeable and skilled physical therapist. Liz is proficient in a variety of techniques and draws on these to create an individualized treatment plan. I have also had positive experiences working with Kristin Morrison and Shannon VanAntwerp. The South Loop physical therapists have a great team dynamic--they will consult with each other on your case to get each others' opinion and draw on each other's strengths to create a strong treatment plan for you. All the staff members at Impact South Loop are friendly, personable and professional. Questions about insurance or scheduling are always responded to promptly. The location has a friendly, communal atmosphere that makes physical therapy an enjoyable experience.
Love this staff and clinic. This is the second time they have helped me recover after an injury from a fall. Can't recommend them enough. They are the best.
My physical therapist was great, but their billing department sucks. I had already met my deductible from my other physician visits, yet this place refused to update the billing and charged me anyway. To make matters worst, they sent it to a shady collections agency that won't return half my emails or calls. DO NOT GO HERE!

I saw Shannon at the South Loop location for general back pain and she did a great job assessing my issues and treating my pain. I definitely feel better, but since I'm pretty active with sports and also getting older, it's nice to know I can go back and see her for follow-up if needed.
There's nothing like getting injured while training for a marathon to take all of the wind out of your sails. My pelvic stress fracture left me devastated and emotionally and physically uncomfortable. Going through physical therapy at IMPACT with Kara Mathys not only allowed me to return to running safely, but made me a more knowledgable, stronger, faster, and smarter runner. Up front, Kara took the time to hear what happened, and really listen to and assess every aspect of my injury and running history. She was incredibly knowledgable about my injury and all of the muscles in my body we could target and strengthen to avoid a recurring injury moving forward. Every week she gave me hope. She listened, encouraged, and pushed me when I needed it most. Recovering from a stress fracture is tricky business; you need to do enough but not too fast and not too much too fast. Kara helped me navigate through seamlessly; while never seeming to tire of my constant babble and over-worrying. She taught me better running form thru analyzing my gate with video gate analysis, and worked with me to strengthen muscles I would need to support my new running form. She helped me make a plan of attack every week, and answered every new question and concern I had. In addition to the top notch care I received from Kara and all of the PT assistants, the facilities and equipment at IMPACT were clean, useful and spacious. For any runner hoping to move through PT quickly, you'll want to go to IMPACT to use their life-changing AlterG treadmill. The facility also has a nice shower area so you can knock out PT early in the morning before work. I strongly recommend IMPACT Physical Therapy and Kara Mathys.
