Super place to start your trip. Insurance, maps, movie tickets service is always quick and friendly.

Very helpful travel agent staff. You can pre-book an appointment online but it seems like it doesn't connect with their system there as they had no idea we'd be showing up at the time we did. Review modified: If you encounter trouble while you're away prepared to deal with it on your own as we weren't able to reach our representative and directed to just the 1-800 number and once we returned she was not able to rectify any of the issues we had. Will try another agent next time to see if it was a fluke.

Got passport picture taken here after taking them in going on vacation. Would have been nice if they had offered me travel insurance because i had to go back a week later to get it

Went today to get a passport photo. Got off to a bad start due to my medical mask exemption; no actual definable resistance but I could feel it. Was ordered by the guy at the door to "sanitize" - what a meaningless word. I told him I had just done my hands in my car before I entered the store. Was told I HAD TO use theirs. I asked what was in it. He didn't know so he gave me the refill container. Extremely small writing but I was able to discern, 72% ethyl alcohol, water, glycerin and paraben. I wonder what strict adherents to a no-alcohol lifestyle would do? Oh well, now that I was sanitized I dealt with the humorless staff. The lady asked what I was needing a passport photo for. I told her, "For a passport." Trick question? I guess she was miseried because with a Premier membership, passport photos are done for no charge. Miserable or what. Like, really, if anyone is that miserable and unhappy, work somewhere else because you are missing out on life. The lady had nothing but trouble with the camera but finally got it working. Whatever. I got my passport photos and left. I guess the "Premier" membership doesn't buy pleasantry.
Customer service is exceptional and fast and convenient.

This company is great as for the older grey haired lady that works at this location shes absolutely terrible. 0 customer service skills, 0 communication skills and basically makes people feel like serving them is putting her out. Let alone it takes her forever just to look up an account so I think the lady that can hardly do her job needs to re-evaluate how she treats her customers. I'll be filing a complaint to the branch and head office aswell

Imagine yourself waiting the whole afternoon and whole night for a roadside tow. But no one ever come. That's what I got for my first 'premium' membership. And you can't even call them within 20 minutes holding because their volume is always higher than normal. CAA road assistant is just a waste of money! Because when you really in need you have to pay others to come in time. Totally disappointed by this NO LIMIT POSTPONED ROAD ASSISTANCE!!

I had a flat tire. I had no Spear because Hybrids don't come with a spear. CAA was prompt and efficient. But more to the point, the gentleman, Richard, who showed up was outstanding. Incredibly patient and accommodating. He absolutely went above and beyond in my opinion. I don't go out of my way to write a review, good or bad, usually. But Richard deserves a shout out. I couldn't be more impressed honestly. Thanks to CAA and Richard specifically.....He deserves a raise. :-)

Worst service i have ever had from the CAA travel team. We tried to ask a question of the service lady who had completly finished with the people in fron od us. They left the store and we asked if we need an appointment. The travel agent barked at us that they don't take appointments on the weekend and qe qould have to wait. She said another lady would be coming back soon and it was her turn because she did not want to wait in the store while she delt with the other people. We said that we would wait. She then got up put on her coat ans complained that she hasn't had lunch and was going to get a bite to eat. The experience went down hill from there. Very negative to us when she came back. The other lady still did not come back as of yet. She barked at us to come over and if we were quick she could help us. She asked a couple of questions then acted like we were stupid. She was very co densending to us. We will never go back to that store EVER! Stay away.

Customer ratings and reviews.
Great sales team and great pricing, we were recommend by family to Murray but Paul ended up taking care of us. Do yourself a favor if you hate crowds, avoid the Toronto RV show and just go to their dealership. They have many models to suit your needs.
Outdoor Travel has been able, for the second time in two years, to provide us with the right fit for our growing needs. It is especially not easy to make a choice during the winter months, when use is several months away, but several visits allowed us to explore our options. Also, they not only took my trade-in at a reasonable price, but offered me whatever available discounts were possible on my upgrade. Sales (Jeff) was quick and easy, while Finance (Pamela) helped us through the finer details of making it all possible. Service (Bill) did a fantastic job with the demo, generously giving us his time while sharing his expertise down to the detail. Bill met us again on delivery and made sure were were completely confident before pulling away. We look forward to using and living in our new Travel Trailer, as is joins us on our many upcoming planned adventures. Outdoor Travel is always a phone call away, making themselves available for post-purchase inquiries and assistance. Scott in service has always gone out of his way to understand our questions while providing the most comprehensive and cost-effective solution options. I may have missed some names, but the entire team at Outdoor Travel is to be commended on their commitment to excellence. See you on the road!
We had a fantastic experience purchasing our RV from Outdoor Travel. All of the staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and so helpful! Many thanks for making our RV purchase so delightful
We felt that they held up our need for customer satisfaction and a great price as high as their own need to make the sale. Sales staff, Parts and Service staff were all very professional and supportive. The sales manager helped us out at pick-up time with a special favor to make everything work, for which I am in his debt. We both feel very pleased that we placed our trust in Outdoor Travel; you will too.
Great place to bring our motorhome. Believe me it is worth the drive from Niagara Falls. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Scott in service takes time to explain things, is very fair, and we have complete trust in him. Keep paying him.

Where to buy solar eclipse glasses: Check out these last-minute locations before April 8
If you know where to look, you may just luck out and find a vendor or even a local library with some solar eclipse glasses still in stock..
You're running out of time to get your own pair of certified glasses if you're wanting to catch a glimpse of the total solar ecli pse that is nearly one week away.
If you're planning to be among the millions of people in the United States who will witness the spectacular sight on April 8, having a proper pair of glasses couldn't be more paramount . Until the moon completely blocks the sun's disc on the path of totality and ushers in darkness , the sun's rays will pose a danger to unprotected retinas gazing skyward.
At this point, proper eyewear may be hard to come by and some may be tempted to turn to alternative methods such as welding goggles . But if you know where to look, you may just luck out and find a vendor or even a local library with some still in stock.
Here's what to know about where to find last-minute solar eclipse glasses.
American Paper Optics, Warby Parker, among those offering glasses
Compared to regular sunglasses , proper eclipse glasses are 100,000 times darker to block nearly all visible, infrared and ultraviolet light and protect our sensitive retinas when looking upward near the sun.
That's why experts widely recommend them for those who will be watching as the upcoming solar eclipse charts a 115-mile-wide path of totality across North America.
Reputable vendors can be found on any eclipse websites like NationalEclipse.com, which sells a variety of eyewear products, along with plenty of other gadgets one may need to see the eclipse. Additionally, American Paper Optics, the nation's largest supplier of eclipse glasses, offers express shipping and includes a a countdown at the top of its website to let you know the deadline to make a purchase to get your glasses in time for the big day.
Warby Parker, which actually plans to give out free solar eclipse glasses beginning Monday, may also be a good place to check.
Here are some other companies offering specials and deals timed for the big deal, including offers on eclipse glasses.
Finally, you may want to check your local library or other public institutions in your area, as many of these places have been offering free eclipse glasses to residents. Just don't count on supplies still being available.
Find a store near you: How to get your Warby Parker eclipse glasses
How to make sure your solar eclipse glasses aren't fakes
The responsibility of guiding American consumers to the safest eclipse glasses is largely left to the American Astronomical Society.
The organization maintains a curated list of approved vendors of solar eclipse glasses and its been updated to give priority to North American manufacturers for the upcoming astral event. Products you purchase that are listed on that site are guaranteed to be in compliance with the highest international safety standards.
Those standards are set by the International Organization for Standardization, which only vouches for solar eclipse glasses that are dark and strong enough to filter out a certain amount of the sun's harmful light.
Of course, plenty of fakes and cheap imitators are proliferating the online marketplace in the leadup to the eclipse.
A good rule of thumb is to avoid any vendors making the grand (and entirely made-up) claim that their products are endorsed by NASA. As the space agency reiterated to USA TODAY , it only advises that people get a pair of glasses, but does not recommend or certify any particular product.
The astronomical society also provides some helpful tips for other useful ways to spot scams and counterfeit glasses.
Solar eclipse forecast: Looking cloudy for some in path of totality
What else to know about the April 8 total solar eclipse
A total solar eclipse offers the unique opportunity for skygazers to witness the spectacular astral display with the naked eye – but only when the time is right.
Eclipse glasses are still very much needed for most of the show, so make sure to come prepared, according to NASA .
But when the moon moves completely in front of the sun and blocks its light, you'll know it's safe to fully take in the dazzling display. That moment is what is called "totality," whereby uncharacteristic darkness falls and all but the sun's outermost layer known as its corona makes a rare appearance to us here on Earth.
Hundreds of cities in 13 states are on the path of totality for this year's total solar eclipse, which will pass from southwest to northeast across North America. You won't want to miss it, as this is the last such eclipse in North American until 2044 .
And as you make your eclipse-viewing plans, these interactive maps should help you chart the time and duration for when totality would occur in cities along the path.

Live DJ sets! Freebies! Exclusive drops! 12 L.A. shops going big for Record Store Day

420 isn’t just for stoners. This year, Record Store Day — the worldwide celebration for independent record shops that typically happens every third Saturday of April — falls on the storied day.
Across Los Angeles County, audiophiles and vinyl collectors will converge at participating stores to search for one-of-a-kind wax and CD releases by artists new and old, along with other one-of-a-kind items. Even in the age of Spotify, vinyl records have stayed in demand — more than 43 million people bought vinyl records last year, according to the Recording Industry Assn. of America (RIAA).
“It’s really like an Easter egg hunt,” says longtime collector and DJ Johnny Young, who goes by the moniker Black Museumist, of Record Store Day. “There’s a lot of energy.”
This year’s event brings in roughly 400 anticipated titles including a live recording of Talking Heads from a 1977 performance (featuring seven previously unheard songs), a 12-inch vinyl release of Daft Punk’s “Something About Us (Love Theme From Interstella 5555)” , an unreleased live solo recording of “The Godmother of Rock n’ Roll” by Sister Rosetta Tharpe (from 1966) and a 10-year anniversary edition of Freddie Gibbs & Madlib’s “ Piñata .”
Planning your weekend?
Stay up to date on the best things to do, see and eat in L.A .
Also, this year’s Record Store Day ambassador, Paramore , will release a remix version of its 2023 album, “This Is Why” and Cheech and Chong will reissue the soundtrack for their 1978 film, “Up in Smoke,” on smoky green vinyl just in time for 4/20.
You can see the full list here . Also, note that there are three types of special releases: RSD Exclusive (when the record is pressed specifically for the holiday and isn’t expected to otherwise be available), RSD First (a special variant is being made for Record Store Day and a standard black version will be released later) and RSD Limited run/regional focus (quantities are typically fewer than 1,000 units and may be easier to find in a specific city or region), according to SCNow .
For people like Young and Mathieu Schreyer , a music supervisor and former KCRW DJ, every day is Record Store Day. But Schreyer, who’s been DJing for two decades, says he understands the value in having an intentional day to patronize local vinyl shops.
“We can’t just diss Spotify and then not participate and support when it’s needed,” he says. “I think it’s important to support the record stores and the culture.”
But even if you’re not interested in copping a special release, it’s still worth checking out what your favorite record store has to offer on April 20. You’ll find events like in-store DJ sets, pop-up shopping experiences and in-store performances.
To help you plan, we’ve rounded up a list of local Record Store Day events you should check out. Pro tip: If you’re looking for RSD collectibles, be sure to call the vinyl shop beforehand to see what they’ll have in stock. Quantities will be limited and every store won’t carry the same titles.

Solar eclipse maps show 2024 totality path, peak times and how much of the eclipse people could see across the U.S.
By Aliza Chasan
Updated on: April 9, 2024 / 5:00 AM EDT / CBS News
A total solar eclipse crossed North America Monday with parts of 15 U.S. states within the path of totality. Maps show where and when astronomy fans could see the big event as skies darkened in the middle of the day Monday, April 8.
The total eclipse first appeared along Mexico's Pacific Coast at around 11:07 a.m. PDT, then traveled across a swath of the U.S., from Texas to Maine, and into Canada.
About 31.6 million people live in the path of totality , the area where the moon fully blocked out the sun , according to NASA. The path ranged between 108 and 122 miles wide. An additional 150 million people live within 200 miles of the path of totality.
Solar eclipse path of totality map for 2024
The total solar eclipse started over the Pacific Ocean, and the first location in continental North America that experienced totality was Mexico's Pacific Coast, around 11:07 a.m. PDT, according to NASA. From there, the path continued into Texas, crossing more than a dozen states before the eclipse enters Canada in southern Ontario. The eclipse exited continental North America at around 5:16 p.m. NDT from Newfoundland, Canada.
The path of totality included portions of the following states:
- Pennsylvania
- New Hampshire
Small parts of Tennessee and Michigan also experienced the total solar eclipse.
Several major cities across the U.S. were included in the eclipse's path of totality, while many others saw a partial eclipse. These were some of the best major cities for eclipse viewing — though the weather was a factor :
- San Antonio, Texas (partially under the path)
- Austin, Texas
- Waco, Texas
- Dallas, Texas
- Little Rock, Arkansas
- Indianapolis, Indiana
- Dayton, Ohio
- Cleveland, Ohio
- Buffalo, New York
- Rochester, New York
- Syracuse, New York
- Burlington, Vermont
Map of when the solar eclipse reached totality across its path
The eclipse began in the U.S. as a partial eclipse beginning at 12:06 p.m. CDT near Eagle Pass, Texas, before progressing to totality by about 1:27 p.m. CDT and then moving along its path to the northeast over the following few hours.
NASA shared times for several cities in the path of totality across the U.S. People could have also checked their ZIP code on NASA's map to see when the eclipse was to reach them if they were on, or near, the path of totality — or if they saw a partial eclipse instead.
How much of the eclipse did people see if they live outside the totality path?
While the April 8 eclipse covered a wide swath of the U.S., outside the path of totality observers may have spotted a partial eclipse, where the moon covers some, but not all, of the sun, according to NASA. The closer they were to the path of totality, the larger the portion of the sun that was hidden.
NASA allowed viewers to input a ZIP code and see how much of the sun was to be covered in their locations.
Could there be cloud cover be during the solar eclipse?
Some areas along the path of totality had a higher likelihood of cloud cover that could interfere with viewing the eclipse. Here is a map showing the historical trends in cloud cover this time of year.
You could have checked the latest forecast for your location with our partners at The Weather Channel .
Where did the solar eclipse reach totality for the longest?
Eclipse viewers near Torreón, Mexico, got to experience totality for the longest. Totality there lasted 4 minutes, 28 seconds, according to NASA.
Most places along the centerline of the path of totality saw a totality duration of between 3.5 and 4 minutes, according to NASA. Some places in the U.S. came close to the maximum; Kerrville, Texas, had a totality duration of 4 minutes, 24 seconds.
What is the path of totality for the 2044 solar eclipse?
The next total solar eclipse that will be visible from the contiguous U.S. will be on Aug. 23, 2044.
Astronomy fans in the U.S. will have far fewer opportunities to see the 2044 eclipse they had on April 8. NASA has not yet made maps available for the 2044 eclipse but, according to The Planetary Society , the path of totality will only touch three states.
The 2024 eclipse will start in Greenland, pass over Canada and end as the sun sets in Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota, according to the Planetary Society.

What if self-checkout at the grocery store was more like tsa precheck.

Busy Self checkout vs busy cashier check out at Target Store, Queens, New York. (Photo by: Lindsey ... [+] Nicholson/UCG/Universal Images Group via Getty Images)
Remember the days when airline travelers all went through the same line at security?
These days feel like forever ago (partly because they were), and now travelers have the option to choose between Clear, TSA PreCheck, or, for lack of a better way to put it, standard security screening.
All of which begs the question: Why couldn’t or shouldn’t grocery shopping evolve in the same way?
The parallels are quite striking.
At airports, travelers all used to stand in line to check-in until the now ubiquitous check-in kiosk came into vogue. It took awhile for travelers to get comfortable with the kiosks, and, in fact, quite a few people still struggle with them and still prefer to wait in line, but now the majority of traffic at most major airports runs through them.
This pattern of adoption mirrors that of self-checkout within grocery stores. When self-checkout first came on the scene, it took awhile for shoppers to acclimate to it, but now, especially after the pandemic, the line for self-checkout can be as long as, if not longer than, the lines for a lane with a cashier.
Oh, but self-checkout!
Love it or hate it, self-checkout is the current bane of every grocer’s existence. It is the scapegoated cause of everything from theft and shrink to the still crippling psychological consumer nightmares held over from the early days of the “Missed Item In The Bagging Area” notification.
Best High-Yield Savings Accounts Of 2024
Best 5% interest savings accounts of 2024.
Every retailer from Dollar General to Target TGT has been trying to figure out the right balance between self-checkout and staffed checkout-lanes.
And the answer to that question may have just been unintentionally discovered through Walmart WMT .
Walmart recently found itself in a small kerfuffle when Business Insider wrote an article insinuating, based on photos and questions found on social media, that Walmart may be “limiting self-checkout lanes just for Spark drivers and Walmart+ customers,” a claim which was later refuted by Reuters .
The Reuters Fact Check team called the article “misleading” and stated that “Walmart’s self-checkout lanes are not reserved for Walmart+ members. A store can choose to designate self-checkout lanes for members and delivery drivers depending on customer traffic.”
But what if they were?
What if Walmart customers had to pay for self-checkout? Is that idea really all that bad?
What if paying customers had the option to go through self-checkout and non-paying customers had to wait in line to go through standard checklanes, just like everyone used to do?
What is so wrong with that?
According to Gallup , the average employed person takes an average of 4.2 airline trips per year and the average non-employed adult takes 2.7 trips. Both of these statistics are nothing when compared to the number of trips that the average U.S. household takes to the grocery store, which, according to Statista , stands at a whopping 1.6 trips per week!
And, yet, people are willing to pay so much more just to avoid lines at the airport?
The cost of TSA PreCheck alone ( $78 online ) is almost on par with Walmart+ ( $98 per year) or Target Circle 360 ( $99 per year), and Clear is almost $200 per year ( $189 , to be exact). Neither of which also come with all the other many benefits typically associated with a retailer’s subscription — no free shipping, no gas discounts, nada.
So the question grocers should be asking themselves isn’t, “Should we or should we not dedicate self-checkout lanes to our subscription holders?”
The question they should be asking themselves is, “How much should we start charging?”
$20? $50? $100?
No one knows that answer quite yet but one can bet his or her bottom dollar that not all grocers, but some, could begin experimenting in this direction soon.
The similarities are just too striking to ignore any longer.
