Alaska Adventure Cruises
7, 12, & 14 Night Alaska Adventure Cruises | April 2024 through 2025 | Explore the Great Land.
Life on the outside. Our Alaska cruise adventures deliver action, exploration, and the unexpected—paddling and hiking, calving glaciers, Glacier Bay National Park, bears, whales, and polar plunges. Nobody does Alaska better. Alaska boasts the most itineraries of all our destinations. Whether you go for 7, 12, or 14 nights, there truly is a trip for everyone.
From early April into May, Southeast Alaska awakens. Bears, baby animals, migrating grey whales and birds, budding forests, snow-covered peaks, gushing waterfalls, and Aurora Borealis sightings can be part of your experience. Plus, it's crowd-free.
Long days of Alaska summers mean extra playtime. Temps are warmer, so there's better access to higher elevation hikes. And humpbacks are back en masse. Come summer's end and into early fall, wildlife gets busy—mating, migrating, and feeding up for winter.

Main Alaska's Ultimate Adventure Itinerary
The main Alaska’s Ultimate Adventure Cruise operates northbound from Sitka to Juneau, with a special meal at Fin Island Lodge, plus active days featuring long paddles, hikes and excursions in inflatable boats.
Welcome to beautiful Sitka—the only community in Southeast Alaska that faces the open ocean waters of the Gulf of Alaska. You’re encouraged to arrive early and explore the community’s rich culture, history and biodiversity. Shortly after embarking, enjoy a feast of Alaska crab (subject to availability), wild salmon cooked over an alder wood-fired grill and prime rib, at the company’s privately-owned Fin Island Lodge.
Admiralty Dream
Spend the day exploring remote Inside Passage wilderness. Hike a rainforest trail featuring towering spruce and hemlock trees and lush undergrowth. Your knowledgeable guide will provide commentary on the indigenous plants and wildlife of the area. Explore Chatham Strait alongside Baranof Island’s charming shoreline, dubbed The Waterfall Coast, and savor an opportunity to kayak a protected bay in the area.
breakfast, lunch, dinner
Scout for humpback whales and other marine mammals in Frederick Sound. Humpbacks are famous for behavior that lends itself to incredible viewing and photography, such as tail lobbing, lunge feeding, pectoral slapping, breaching and picturesque dives that showcase their massive flukes. Other opportunities for in-depth exploration include the protected waters or shores of Security Bay, Skanax Bay, Pybus Bay, The Brothers islands, or another beautiful wilderness location.
Enjoy several options to explore the colorful history of Wrangell, including a trip to the town’s impressive museum. Visit the intriguing state historic park, Petroglyph Beach, which contains the highest concentration of petroglyphs in Southeast Alaska. Choose from a guided hike on the Rainbow Falls Trail or an exciting optional opportunity aboard a high-speed jet boat.
Jetboat excursions from Wrangell are available at an additional cost and are dependent on space/permits. Options either include navigating the winding Stikine River through stunning Alaska scenery, or a traveling through a maze of glistening icebergs in LeConte Bay en route to the LeConte Glacier.
Your captain and expert expedition team will select the day’s remote wilderness adventure based on factors like weather and wildlife sightings in the area. Whether you’re lacing up your boots for a wilderness hike or beach trek, or grabbing a paddle to navigate remote shorelines, one thing’s for sure: you’re in for an unforgettable Alaska adventure that is tailor-made for your group.
Journey through Tracy or Endicott Arm in the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness, a place the famous naturalist John Muir referred to as “A wild, unfinished Yosemite.” Renowned for its glaciers, pristine waterfalls, towering icebergs, abundant harbor seals, and granite cliffs that rise from sea level to 4,000 feet, this wilderness is often referred to by locals as one of the most scenic areas in the state.
This exclusive property is nestled up against the dramatic Chilkat mountain range, and features an expansive beachfront, towering old growth forest, low-lying muskeg and beautiful William Henry Creek. The geography provides prime habitat for an array of wildlife. 160 exclusive acres of pristine wilderness will be yours to explore alongside a knowledgeable guide. Sail with the World Leader in Conservation-Focused Small Ship Cruising
- Unparalleled Experience in Alaska Small-Ship Cruising Lindblad's expedition ships have been cruising Alaskan waters for over 35 years, exploring and revealing wild places accessible only to small, nimble ships like these. The captain and crew are experts in locating whales and other marine life and positioning the ship for intimate viewing experiences. It's easy to change course for a sighting, or observe wildlife up close from Zodiacs when conditions permit. A small ship with fewer passengers makes all the difference when it comes to a genuine experience of Alaska’s coastal wilderness.
- Onboard Naturalists Foster Richer Wildlife Engagement The ship's naturalist staff offers interpretive insight into the multitude of wildlife you'll encounter , from breaching whales and bald eagles to Steller sea lions and foraging brown bears. Learn about marine biology, evolutionary biology, ornithology and more from a diverse slate of engaging experts. Each voyage sails with an Expedition Leader and five veteran naturalists, with a staff-to-guest ratio of 1:10, plus flexibility for guided kayaking, hiking and exploring by Zodiac. In addition, research scientists from the Lindblad-National Geographic-funded Alaska Whale Foundation come aboard to enhance guests' whale-watching experiences.
- Experience the World Beneath the Sea—a Lindblad Exclusive! Lindblad guests see what few ever witness, traveling with an undersea specialist who dives from 40-80 feet with high-intensity lights and an HD video camera to capture the surprisingly colorful marine life of Southeast Alaskan waters. View this fascinating footage on plasma screens in the comfort of the lounge for a deeper sense of Alaska's natural wonders. This Alaskan undersea program is exclusive to Lindblad’s expedition voyages.
- Enjoy Special Access and New Perspectives in Glacier Bay Lindblad's special permit from the National Park Service allows the ship to spend an entire day inside Glacier Bay National Park, the crown jewel of Southeast Alaska. In addition, permits from the U.S. Forest Service enable the ship's naturalists to lead excursions into wild and remote areas of the Tongass National Forest.
- A Suite of Tools to Enhance Exploration Single and double kayaks, plus a fleet of Zodiacs, let us explore remote locales for up-close discoveries. Paddle past nesting birds and lounging sea lions, watch seals bob at eye level off your bow, or just enjoy the silence. Shoreline cruises aboard Zodiacs are perfect for relaxed exploration with a naturalist’s narration, and the ideal platform for photography. The ship’s hydrophone lets you listen in on whales, while a video microscope reveals invisible facets of life. High-quality binoculars are always on hand for abundant wildlife sightings.
- Shipboard Life Offers an Ideal Family Adventure Lindblad's exclusive family explorer program was developed in conjunction with National Geographic Education to provide a field experience for guests under 18 that is both enlightening and fun. Learn about glaciers by making ice cream sundaes, or use glacial ice to paint water colors. Kids have direct contact with wildlife and wonders on land and in the sea during daily activities, learn to be multimedia storytellers about their discoveries, and build a field notebook to document daily observations.
- Get Expert Photography Guidance A Lindblad-National Geographic certified photo instructor accompanies each expedition, joining guests for hikes on centuries-old bear trails and forest boardwalks built over bogs, and aboard Zodiacs that float past icebergs for a closer look at glaciers. This veteran naturalist is specially trained to assist you with camera settings and the basic elements of framing, composition and lighting. You'll capture extraordinary images and go home a better, more confident photographer.
