6 Style Tips for Cute & Comfortable Road Trip Outfits

What to Wear on a Road Trip

When traveling for long distances in a car it can be a little difficult to decide what would be the best outfit to wear on a road trip. You want to look cute but still be comfortable, and of course, depending the time of year, and how long you will be in the car will determine the type of clothes you end of wearing. Or you might need multiple road trip outfits because you trip will span across multiple days! Did someone say cross-country road trip?

If you have a road trip approaching and are wondering what to wear on a road trip to not only look stylish but be comfortable as well this post is for you! I have taken many road trips over the years and these are six quick style tips that I always follow when putting together road trip outfits!

6 Style Tips for Road Trip Outfits

Wear Comfortable Shoes

I love high heels and wedges as much as the next gal but when most of your time will be in a car you need shoes that you can easily take on and off and be comfortable walking in to quickly explore an area.

When Peter and I go on road trips we usually research locations we want to stop along the way to our destination. We quickly pull over and explore the area, take a few photos and continue on our way. Usually, we run across the road for the photo or go on a little hike so comfortable shoes are key.

In addition to exploring beautiful areas, opting for flats, slip ons, or sneakers makes it easy to slip your shoes on and off and you’re also not super worried if they get thrown around in the car. As road trips go, you usually have a bag full of snacks on the floor and if you take off your shoes they will usually get thrown to the trunk or pushed under the seat.

On summer road trips wear flats or sneakers. My favorite style of flats to wear is Tieks . I love this brand for several reasons but the reason I like wearing these flats on road trips is that they fold and come in a little pouch that you can throw in your travel tote or large handbag. When you need them just pull them out and slip them on for a cute road trip outfit.

If you prefer sneakers, personally I don’t prefer running or athletic sneakers. I like more casual and everyday sneakers as they make for nicer road trip outfits. For example, these New Balance ‘574’ Sneaker , Naturalizer Morrison Sneaker , or Cole Hann Wingtip Sneaker are great options. Each sneaker is stylish yet comfortable.

If you need some ideas on what to wear in the summer take a look at look at this summer outfits guide.

Wear layers.

Depending on the time of year you are traveling you might need to wear warmer clothes but one thing to always keep in mind is layers. If you get too warm remove a layer, if it gets chilly; add on your long sleeve, sweater, or jacket.

In this road trip outfit, I am wearing a thin boyfriend tee and a button-down long sleeve shirt. This was a road trip I took in March along the California coast, so pretty much pretty weather but a little fresh so I love having the option to freely add or remove a layer.

For warmer weather, you could also layer, a tank top with a denim jacket.

If the temperature is very cold during your road trip consider wearing a warm vest as a layer. This is a winter road trip outfit I wore while exploring Colorado National Monument . I will layer a cute vest over a sweater and if it snows I would add a large coat over, as I did in this winter road trip outfit . I love vests as an option because they keep you warm without being too bulky.

Leggings Over Denim (Or Shorts for Summer)

I want to be comfortable while sitting in the car for hours so I opt for leggings instead of jeans or trousers. This way I can cross my legs and blog on my laptop if I want to. Black is better for leggings than any other color. Not only do they look slimming but they hide the occasional stain caused by road trip snacks.

Leggings work great for winter, fall , and spring road trips. If you’re on a summer road trip wear comfortable shorts. Again, nothing too tight or denim. Instead, opt for drawstring shorts, these Drawstring Waist Chambray Shorts are the perfect example, or these Pull-On Shorts by Madewell are another great option for a comfortable road trip outfit.

This style of shorts is also great if you’re wearing a bathing suit underneath. Maybe you’re doing a California beach road trip and you want to jump into the ocean as soon as you arrive, well these shorts are easy to take on and off.

If you want to know what you can and can’t wear with leggings and how to create a variety of outfits with the same black leggings read: What to Wear with Leggings & 20 Style Tips on How to Wear Them.

Bring a Travel Tote or Large Handbag

A little clutch for a road trip just won’t do. A large handbag is what you need to bring with you on a road trip to hold all of your necessities. Makeup for touch-ups or extra hair ties, hand sanitizer, and of course mints and snacks.

In my handbag, I carry with me a few essentials: phone, face powder, Chapstick, Kleenex, notebook, pen, iPad mini, wallet, sunglasses, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, gum, hair ties, and bobby pins. These are the items I need to have within arm’s reach and not in a suitcase in the trunk.

Sunglasses!

Again, long hours in a car can be hard on you, at times it is hard one me, so I bring a handy pair of sunglasses to cover my tired eyes. As with long flights, sunglasses are an item you don’t want to forget.

Sunglasses can hide your tiredness immediately and if you’re spending hours under the glaring sun make sure to protect those eyes! Sunglasses don’t only make you look cooler, sunglasses prevent wrinkles.

shop sunglasses

Wear your hair up.

There is no way to keep my hair full of life after three-plus hours in a car, windows rolled down or not. To not be bothered by my hair’s lack of bounce I always wear it up.

Wear your hair in a bun or in a ponytail, whichever looks cutest with your road trip outfit. This will keep you looking cute even with the seven-plus hours you’ve spent road-trippin’ it and singing Californication at the top of your lungs.

Very helpful, generally I will wear a fanny pack to hold a credit card, drivers license keys and phone so I don’t need to carry the large handbag for bathroom and service station stops, I use a large handbag but it is safer not to carry it when stopping for gas or a bathroom break, however, do not leave the handbag in plain view in the car.

The Stylebook app is maybe the most fun I’ve ever had planning what to pack. It’s “Looks” function feeds the Packing List so you always know how many pieces you’re packing. Easy to use and really allows you to see how many different ways you can use each piece in your “Closet”. I may even start using it for my “real life” what-to-wear daily crisis 🙂 Thanks for the suggestion!

Nancy S

Hi Alex, Thanks for the tip on Polyvore! I just purchased your ebook, and am in the process of reading it now. I love the capsule wardrobes that you create, so I thought I’d give it a try. Here is my first attempt: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=127472417 (I really wasn’t paying attention to the name brands or prices, as much as how the item looked and how well it went with the rest of the wardrobe.)

I will also check into the My Dressing app for Android. Love your website! Happy Travels!

Thanks, Nancy

Hi Nancy, looks great! Where would you travel to with this capsule wardrobe? Thanks 🙂

Even though I have never been there, I had Paris in mind when creating this set! I have created several more sets, and I’m quickly getting addicted to Polyvore! LOL Thanks for the tip! Love your site and hope to do much more traveling in the future!

Thank you, enjoy!

Aldora

There is a free iPhone app called Stylicious that allows you to take photos of your wardrobe & build your outfits, travel plan, etc. I haven’t used it yet, but will let you know when I do.

Awesome thanks for the tip!

Bring These 8 Items on Your Next Redeye Bus Trip

The following blog post may contain affiliate links (meaning I will get a small commission if you buy through my link). You won’t pay any more if you use this link and this will help me to keep the rest of my content free! Read the full Disclosure  here .

I recently took a redeye bus trip to New York City! Exploring the city was an amazing experience but the bus ride was less than enjoyable. However, I did bring a few items along with me that made the ride so much easier and a little more comfortable. Now I want to share those items with you. Just bring these 8 items on your next redeye bus trip and you’ll have an easier and more comfortable bus ride.

1. Small Backpack

I recommend bringing a small bag onto the bus that will hold some essential items that you’ll need for the trip. I brought a  Small, black Vera Bradley Backpack  to hold my belongings in. It was a great size for storing my belongings while also being compact enough to not take up too much space on the bus.

If you still need room for more items/and or your suitcase if you packed one, most tour buses have storage below. Just make sure that you won’t need quick access to anything that may be stored under the bus. If you want some ideas of essential items to pack for your next trip, here’s a list!

2. Comfy Clothes

I knew I would want to wear some comfy clothes during the actual bus ride to New York City. It was a long trip and I wanted to be as comfortable as possible. Depending on the weather, you may want to wear a tank top or t-shirt. However, the temperature inside of the bus may fluctuate depending on where you sit on the bus and how well the heater and air conditioning work.

It was cold when I went on my redeye bus trip so I opted for warmer clothing. My “Friends” Sweatshirt that I have is so comfy and it’s what I decided to wear during the bus ride!  This one  is very similar to my sweatshirt.

bus trip outfit

I also wore black yoga pants during the bus ride. Can you really ever go wrong with a great, comfy pair of black yoga pants? Mine are super soft and comfy and my favorite yoga pants ever! Unfortunately, I couldn’t find them online, but here are some great yoga pant choices to choose from.

3. Extra Clothing

I also recommend packing a change of clothes in your small carry-on bag to have handy just in case you need to change a shirt or bottoms quickly. It doesn’t have to be anything much, just extra clothes that you can access with ease quickly if you need to. That way, you won’t have to wait for the next bus stop and then for someone to open up the storage compartments underneath the bus to get to the rest of your belongings in your suitcase.

4. Drinks and Snacks

Snacks are something that I almost always carry with me when I’m traveling. You never know when hunger will strike! Snacks are also great for redeye bus trips. I buy small, individually packaged food because it’s easier to store. These crackers are my go-to snack for when I was something savory. And if I’m craving sweets, I like to have a sweet granola bar on hand. They don’t melt and they are easy to eat while traveling.

I also carried a small water bottle with me while on the bus and in New York City. Mine is similar to  these . The size is great for easily carrying in a small pack all day. I actually carry my water bottle with me basically everywhere, not just on trips!

bus trip outfit

5. Phone Charger

I have an older iPhone (I desperately need a new one) and I’m finding that I need to charge it more often. Most tour buses will have outlets or even USB outlets for your devices. This makes it easy to charge phones and other devices on the bus. I definitely recommend bringing your phone charger and making sure you have it with you on the bus if you know you’ll be using it and may need to charge it.

Something to consider though, is that there is a chance that the outlets won’t be working during your redeye bus trip . That is why this is why the next item is also so important to bring with you.

6. Portable Phone Charger

This portable phone charger was a lifesaver!  Do not forget this item if you’ll be using your phone a lot during your trip! A portable phone charger isn’t just great to have while you’re at your destination, but also on the redeye bus trip itself.

bus trip outfit

Most tour buses have outlets for each set of seats, however, having a backup charger isn’t a bad idea. The outlets on the bus may not work during your ride.

I am so glad I brought a pair of earbuds on the bus with me! I was able to listen to music and not disturb anyone else. It was also helpful to drown out the noise of people talking, moving around, and snoring. The earbuds were especially helpful in drowning out the noise of the squeaky window right next to my seat on the bus.

bus trip outfit

8. Travel Pillow

I wanted a pillow that fit snug around my neck and that was firm enough to hold its shape but also soft and comfortable.  This travel pillow  is what I ultimately purchased and it helped me get a bit rest during my redeye bus trip! It made getting comfortable on the bus easier and I was able to rest a bit better with it.

bus trip outfit

Although I got hardly any sleep on the redeye bus trip I went on, these 7 items did help me to rest a little during the ride and make it slightly more comfortable. It’s going to be tight on the bus already so just be thoughtful about the items you bring onto the bus with you during your redeye bus trip. If you decide to pack these items I’ve shared with you here, I hope they will also help you have a good and comfortable bus trip as well.

Are there any items that you would add to the list? Let me know your thoughts below!

Snakeskin boots seem like an unusual choice for the airport. However, some girls want to look fashionable wherever they go. Combine high boots with a long coat and an olive green dress. That is how you will be ready for the party, the moment you land.

Fanny Pack and Jeans

Fanny Pack and Jeans

Since they came back to fashion, fanny packs, as well as belt bags, became one of the most stylish items among bloggers and It-girls. They are quite practical for traveling since you can always have your items close.

Earth Toned Style

Earth Toned Style

An earth-toned outfit like this is great not only for travel but for everyday summer wear. Stylish khaki cargo pants , a parka, and a basic white tee are great items that make you feel comfortable and look fabulous. Cargo boots will provide your feet with all-day comfort as well.

Matching Sporty Suit

Matching Sporty Suit

There is nothing more casual than matching the sporty suit. The crop top and sweatpants seem very cozy while also looking stylish. Break the beige color with black-and-white sneakers. This look is perfect for long flights.

Travel + Leisure / Daisy Rodriguez

Before I became a travel journalist, I was a buyer in the fashion industry for over 15 years, working with brands such as Brooks Brothers, Michael Kors, and the former Liz Claiborne, so you can say that I have a keen eye for style, quality fabrics, and a good fit. These days, I put my former skills to work in a different way. On average, I travel twice a month and it’s not unusual for me to be zipping through the airport on any given day, so I pack light and maximize the outfits that I’m taking with me.

At first, it wasn’t easy to streamline my packing lists for each destination; I was always stressed that I had left an essential top, pair of bottoms, jacket — you name it — at home. But, with the help of my former fashion buyer brain, I developed the ultimate travel capsule wardrobe , complete with three foolproof outfits that help me create dozens of looks (without needing to check a bag , I might add). Here are my favorite mix-and-match separates that suit any type of trip itinerary — both work and play — along with some must-have accessories that'll widen your wardrobe horizons.

Duer LuxTwill Trucker Jacket

Duer luxtwill high-rise trousers, minnow navy and dusty red stripe sweater.

I’ve been a huge fan of the Canadian clothing company Duer for several years now, and its LuxTwill Trucker Jacket and matching High-Rise Trousers are one of my favorite outfits to bring on work trips. Both the jacket and pants are made of 98 percent cotton and 2 percent elastane, so the pieces have a structured look while allowing for some stretch for comfort.

While it’s a great set, I also love to wear the jacket as a separate, over dresses, leggings, or jeans. And, to save suitcase space, I'll sport it on the plane. I've found that it's a versatile essential that’s great for work and play destinations. The trousers pair well with knits as well as button-front tops. I especially love pairing it with a slouchy novelty sweater like my favorite one from Minnow ; it's an excellent transition piece for spring that works with denim, pants, skirts and shorts and is constructed of a dreamy cotton-cashmere blend, making it super soft and comfortable.

The timeless nautical pullover is also cozy, but not bulky and the dolman sleeves are fashionable and functional, allowing you to move freely when traveling. I own two of these sweaters and find myself bringing them on work trips and vacations because they match with nearly everything that I own.

To copy the look for less, pair this cropped jacket (on sale for $24) with these $40 high-waisted trousers and this nautical-inspired crewneck sweater that's currently $31 — all from Amazon.

PrettyGarden Two-Piece Sleeveless Vest and Wide-Leg Pants Set

I’m in love with Amazon's two-piece sets because not only are they available at amazing price points, but they're super sleek and can be styled in so many ways. Here, the vest is drapey and offers a sophisticated and elegant look, although it also works well with denim; when I'm home, I like pairing it with my Everlane Super-Soft Relaxed Jeans for a laidback SoCal vibe, but when I'm on the go, it goes perfectly with the Duer LuxTwill High-Rise Trousers featured above (and I can layer the brand's LuxTwill Trucker Jacket on top or pair the PrettyGarden trousers with my Minnow sweater ).

The bottoms are like palazzo pants and flare slightly, with a loose fit throughout. I like that they aren’t too tight, making them perfect for work meetings, long travel days, and itinerary-heavy days. They also have functioning pockets that are great for holding your essentials while on the move. The set comes in eight colors and sizes range from S to 2XL. Both pieces are machine washable; I’ve put them to the test in the wash several times and they come out looking just as good as new. A word of advice: Make sure you hang them to dry or lay them flat so they retain good shape.

For a more tailored look, you can get the set with a tighter-fitting cropped vest for $52. But, if this look is too business casual for your destination, I also pulled some stunning two-piece sets; check out the now-viral Anrabess Short-Sleeve Mockneck Sweater Set on sale for $40, the tropical getaway-ready Anrabess Linen Tank Top Matching Set that's currently $30, or the PrettyGarden Rib Knit Matching Set , which trades trousers for an elegant maxi skirt.

Vuori’s Short-Sleeve Lux Crew Jumpsuit

Vuori makes my favorite activewear, so it’s no surprise that this super-flattering jumpsuit is on my list of favorite travel outfits. The jumpsuit's performance knit is so comfortable, especially in the summer when it feels good to wear loose-fitting clothing, but is also perfect for travel days, road trips, as well as lounging poolside (save room in your carry-on by using it as a swim cover-up).

To make this outfit extra cool, slip the brand’s Halo Performance Hoodie over it when heading to a Pilates class or an early morning stroll. You can also wear it with a cropped jacket (like the Duer trucker jacket that I mentioned earlier) for a night out on the town. When the dress code calls for something cozier, I'll layer my Minnow sweater on top so it feels like I'm wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants — even though the combo looks effortlessly chic.

If you’re not a fan of onesies, don’t fret. Vuori's Villa Wide-Leg Pants can be paired with its Energy Top to serve a similar look. And, if you're looking for more budget-friendly jumpsuits, over at Amazon, you can get the Anrabess Short-Sleeve Crewneck Jumpsuit for $40.

Travel + Leisure / Jean Chen Smith

Best Accessories for Travel Outfits

Now, it's time to put the finishing touches on these travel outfits. Similarly, my go-to accessories can be mixed and matched to be styled with different looks, ensuring that everything in your suitcase is functional and will get plenty of use on your trip. Below, you'll find my favorite travel shoes and travel purses to tie your outfits together.

Kizik Venice Slip-On Sneakers

A while back, I kept seeing these amazing hands-free slip-on shoes that you can put on and take off without having to bend down or fuss with laces. The Venice slip-ons are by far my favorites. They’re easy to slide right into, super lightweight, and hassle-free to pack. I love wearing them on long flights because they don’t feel constricting (plus, they make going through TSA security a breeze and I can easily slide out of them once I'm in my seat). And, when I'm at my destination, their cushy insoles and grippy rubber soles keep my feet comfy and supported when I'm on the move.

They go with everything and really elevate any outfit. I'll pair them with my Duer set for more casual affairs and use them to make my PrettyGarden vest-trouser duo more playful after work meetings. And, of course, they're the long-lost soulmate for my Vuori jumpsuit , especially on travel days.

Sapahn Jori Crossbody Bag

I used to be partial to labels and monogrammed bags, but I’m currently loving the Jori Crossbody for day-to-night use. During a recent trip to Santa Barbara, I found myself using it instead of my trusty Lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag — which says a lot . Although it looks small, it actually fits everything that I need for a busy day on the go; I can store a small notebook, wallet, makeup compact, and smartphone in there without effort.

The best feature of this bag is that you can switch out the straps to give it an entirely different look, making it transitional from work to play. There are two pockets inside for organizing smaller items like lipsticks or receipts. It comes in four colors, although the khaki hue is my favorite because it’s great for spring and it goes with everything — whether I'm dressed up in my PrettyGarden vest and wide-leg trousers , dressed down in my Duer LuxTwill Trucker Jacket and matching High-Rise Trousers , or out grabbing coffee in my Vuori jumpsuit .

Amazon is filled with leather crossbody purses that are equal parts versatile, functional, and stylish — starting with the Gladdon Crossbody Bag (that's on sale for $16), the $13 FashionPuzzle Small Dome Chain Strap Crossbody Bag , and the Afkomst Crossbody Bag , which has a similar gold buckle detail in the center. For extra flair, I also spotted this on-sale Fossil crossbody that has a color-blocking print and a roomy build.

Milmo 1813 Tote Bag

Milmo's 1813 isn’t just another tote bag, it’s a lifesaver for travel. I often use it as a personal item (paired with my Vuori jumpsuit ) when flying because of its versatility and roominess. I also love that it has a removable and washable interior liner that easily comes out with snap buttons; I don’t have to over-worry about spills and messes (the company also offers a two-year warranty on any defects outside of normal wear and tear).

Its durable rope handles, which attach along the lower half of the bag, can hold up to 300 pounds, which is why it excels as a travel bag. As a tote, it's elegant, structured design is boardroom-ready (with my PrettyGarden two-piece set) , but it can also be worn as the perfect off-duty bag thanks to its convertible crossbody straps (I can sport it around town in the Vuori jumpsuit or Duer duo when I want to be hands-free). The exterior zip pockets allow for quick and easy access to your essentials while in line at the airport or a local eatery. It comes in four colors, but my choice is green.

Over at Amazon, you can replicate the look by adding the KouLi Buir Quilted Tote Bag ($40) or Missnine Laptop Tote Bag ($30) to your cart. But, if you want vast color options, I recommend the Wrangler Vintage Convertible Tote , which is available in 33 hues and is currently on sale for $49.

Everlane Day Glove Flats

While I’m a huge fan of my Mansur Gavriel flats , I usually opt for Everlane's Day Gloves when I'm traveling because they’re just so comfortable and sleek. Praised for their buttery soft leather, the shoes mold to your feet for easy movement and endless support. I can take on a full day of walking wearing them. The rubber soles create a solid foundation and provide grippy traction on uneven and slick surfaces.

Made in an Italian factory, they come in 13 colors and sizes from 5 to 11, with the option for narrow or comfort width. I own several colors and rotate them when traveling. Plus, they hardly take up any room in my suitcase, which is always a win if you're a carry-on-only traveler, and can help spruce up professional outfits like the PrettyGarden vest and wide-leg pants , or make laidback styles like the Duer trucker jacket , matching pants , and Minnow sweater dressier.

Their comfort is hard to match, but Amazon shoppers assure that the Trary Mary Jane Flats are another supportive option (and they're only $35). You can also get the Square-Toe Ankle Strap Ballet Flats , which are teacher-approved , from DreamPairs for $33. Knit flat fans can score the popular Frank Mully Pointed-Toe Flats for $36 thanks to a limited-time deal.

  • DebbJ 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Great way to get oriented to Moscow We started our Moscow experience with the hop on hop off. It was a great way to get orientated to the city. The additional optional tours were also good, we did the Metro tour which I highly recommend, we also paid for the Kremlin tour. The hop on hop off has three different lines all included. Only fault was the bus was sometimes full and you had to wait for the next one which was about 15 minutes (in the cold). Read more Written January 6, 2020

  • BeverleyT 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Boat trip - TERRIBLE We got on the bus, but couldn’t buy a 1 day ticket. They suggested we do the 1 hour boat trip and said they would drop us to the dock. 1) they dropped us in the wrong place 2) they were lost because of the marathon Then the boat, after we finally found it: 1) stinking fumes, actually gagging 2) no commentary, in fact, no interaction unless you begged 3) offered us 2 for 1 icecreams as they had melted and refrozen as the fridge gets turned off at night Honestly, we enjoyed the afternoon in the boat but spent all of it laughing at just how awful it was!!! The worst thing in Moscow! Read more Written August 18, 2019
  • niruDurbs 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Not the best value for the price The ticket is quite expensive and covers three different routes in a 24 hour period. The red route is quite exciting and takes about an hour. The bus comes every 10 to 15 minutes. However the other two routes take about two hours each and buses come every 30 to 40 minute period. If the bus is full then you have to wait at the stop for the next bus. So personally I feel that not much can be seen this way. I definitely was not impressed. However it must be noted that one can learn a lot about the history of Moscow Read more Written July 3, 2019

But to add additional unnecessary delays; the bus stops at each site for 15 minutes at a time or More ! I gave up half way through ( 45 minutes) ; and walked back to the starting point in 10 minutes! Traffic is so bad that when on a bus the previos day it was barely moving. My advice-get a subway pass and a good travel guide book and do sightseeing on your own! Read more Written October 24, 2018
  • Rebecca J 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Boat element was excellent We purchased a ticket online for the boat and bus for 2 days. The boat element was wonderful, we saw some amazing parts of Moscow along the river side. The bus element was very disappointing as it only started at 10am and was finished by 6:30pm. It was extremely warm when we were there and it would have been great to do the tour in the cool of the day. There was also no air conditioning in the down stairs part of the bus. They also turned away passengers at one of the stops as the bus was full and there was not another bus for 40 minutes. Read more Written September 26, 2018

  • Peter F 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Two Routes There is a short red route which depending on the traffic takes about an hour. The route is generally around the Red Square area. The ear phones were small and sometimes the commentary did not link up with the sites you were seeing. The green bus takes you on a longer route and ours took two and a half hours due to the heavy traffic. I would not recommend this trip unless it is raining or you want to fill in time. The sights we saw were nothing outstanding with plenty of time at certain stops for photos. Also the driver stop for a bite to eat at one stop. Read more Written July 30, 2018

The girl on the picture-light blue bag-ask for 100 Rubles for show her the QR Code while I had the Booking and PIN number cause she must see the vessel name-Didn’t say nothing and after she said board any vessel. The bus didn't stop at many points. Were were unaware a couple of times at what point we were and missed them. Headphones and maps were provided. Would recommend one should check out the route map before going and decide which places to stop in advance, this way one can manage and enjoy the tour more and us it more effectively.! • WilliamDyer 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Poor service on boat and too many waiting times on buses For the price, you should expect at minimum English speaking tour guides with decent experience, but at least in my case that did not happen both in buses and boats. And in the boat even tough we were 90% English speaking tourist at least, the tour guide spoke 95% of the time in Russia, and only 3 sentences in English, I really counted how many times she spoke in English. And at the end she asks us if we have any questions? Of course I told her I couldn’t ask her anything since I didn’t understand 95% of what she was saying. The boat tour is not worth it, just take the bus that would be my advice. Second minus is the waiting times, in the boat they made us wait an hour before it departed, and in many stops with the buses waiting times of 20-30 minutes. I actually think I lost that day around 2 hours doing nothing. Be careful. Read more Written July 10, 2018

Water Bottle. If you forget to bring a water bottle, you may get dehydrated between rest stops. Always bring water with you especially on "off-the-beaten path" journeys when you don't know when you'll get a chance to buy food and water. Wear Layers. Layering is key when it comes to dressing for a trip. Bus rides can vary in temperature and being able to adjust your clothing can help keep you comfortable during the entire ride. Wearing a light jacket, a sweater or a scarf is an easy way to add and remove layers as needed.

Functional bottoms. The bottoms in your road trip wardrobe should be comfortable before anything else. Avoid pants or bottoms that are too tight or constricting, and something lightweight is always better. I recommend joggers or leggings for the most comfort, and wide-leg pants are a great on-trend option, too.
