This is a fun, exciting and informative tour where you will take in a variety of interesting scenes. There will be the opportunity to spot some wildlife and there are some great photo opportunities. You will be using the latest in self balancing technology The Ninebot which is the next generation Segway and are so EASY to ride anyone can do it. Water and sunblock will be provided during the registration and indemnity paperwork formalities. This tour is not suitable for children under 10 years old and weigh less than 30 kg or more than 115 kg or 255 pounds. Your tour will begin on the northern end of the Cairns Esplanade. There will be a 15 minute training period just to ensure everyone is comfortable and in control. During the training period you will enjoy the sweeping views from the Cairns foreshore over to Trinity Inlet to the Aboriginal community of Yarabah. Head north following the cycle tracks and cross the bridge to Salt Water Creek, following the creek that is lined with mangroves, the breeding grounds for prawns and mud crabs. Keep an eye out for saltwater crocodiles and jumping barramundi. Arrive at the beautiful Cairns Botanical Gardens and cross into the Centenary Lakes, a unique wetlands area home to many species of flora and fauna. The Freshwater lake is a natural freshwater lake, decorated by a patchwork of water-lilies that provide shelter for a variety of fish, turtles and frogs. The lake is also home to many bird species, depending on the season visitors may see magpie geese, black ducks, black-necked storks and cormorants. Return to the starting point on the Cairns Esplanade, the full length or the tour is about 10km and will take approximately 90 minutes.

We have been on Segways in a few cities and the advertised The Next Generation Segway is absolutely true. It is lighter and more responsive. I was expecting a ride through the city but our guide, Craig, chose the Botanical Gardens. It was a delightful hour and the best way to enjoy the paths. Highly recommend this tour.

I was late and missed the tour I had booked. Craig and Damien accommodated me the next morning, and would have even if I had been the only one on the tour that morning. Two more showed up for the tour I did take, and we were zipping around on the Ninebot Segways in no time. It also feels perfectly safe. Craig obviously loves his work, and loves meeting people. He is a lot of fun. The route through the botanical gardens is lovely. The only thing that they could add is a little time to just play around zipping on the segways to have fun. However on the way back, we were able to go as fast as the machines will go. Cairns is a beautiful place to ride one of these.

We totally loved this tour, the guys are great, looking after everyone, it is a fun relaxing way to see some of Cairns, book it!

Cairns Segway Tour

The Cairns segway tour was great fun. Our guide was Craig, and he gave us a comprehensive overview and lesson before we took off on thge tour. The trip took us along a cycleway from the waterfront, and alongside roads and creeks and into the botanical gardens. It was very picturesque, and we saw kookaburras and bush turkeys (no crocodiles though). We covered the same trip on hired bikes the last time we visited Cairns, but the segways were a lot more fun, and a bit of an adventure for a couple of oldies in our 70's! Craig made sure we were safe at all times, and we loved his sense of humour. Highly recommended!

Picked up this out of the box Segway tours on ninebots. The two guys Damien and Craig were a great bunch guiding us carefully along the beaten bike track along the swamps, botanical garden showing us the local flora and fauna. Very caring bunch provided us with mosquito repellant and water. The ninebots training run by Damien was pretty thorough. They had to tow one of the group with participants. Suggest a must do if u have young kids.

A really interesting trip through the botanical gardens and swamp lands. It was something different that we wanted to try and after a short lesson had no problem in riding the Segway. Lovely guides and great fun. We had an excellent morning. Graham and Julie

We've taken Segway tours all over the world including Greece, Hawaii and various other places. The route through the Botanical Gardens is certainly one of the better routes we've taken. It included both city views, gardens, and a woodland trail. The possibility of seeing crocodiles was exciting, although we did not see any on our trip. I would give this 5 stars but I was not impressed with the tour guide. He didn't seem as knowledgeable about the area as I was expecting and he spent 90% of his time chatting with one family and basically ignored us. I'm not a sensitive person, but it was very noticeable. My other half is a very social person and is chatty. He tried a few times to become a part of the conversation only to be ignored. Maybe we have just been spoiled with really good and engaging tour guides in the past.

Damien was very responsive to email and we were able to book a tour last minute before we were to depart Cairns. We're so glad that we didn't miss out on the opportunity to ride the Ninebots and see a bit more of Cairns as we were only here for the ironman race. Damien was a good teacher- we picked up the technique very easily and then had a nice tour going to the botanical gardens and back. I feel like this is an activity for any age from teen to senior as it was relaxing and required no fitness. Don't miss out and book today!

My daughter and I had a great time on the Ninebots this arvo. It was exciting, and way too much fun zipping thru the botanic gardens on the 90min tour. They take no time in learning to use them and by the end you'll be wishing it didn't have to finish.

The introduction and practice was session soon had us feeling confident to enjoy the 90 minute tour with plenty laughter thrown in. We were lucky as there was only the two of us and our tour lasted a wee bit longer. We negotiated the esplanade and on into the Gardens which were beautiful and gave us plenty of shade. A few stops to admire the various lakes, trees, plants and wild life and into the orchid house which was quite spectacular and then we were on our way again weaving through the gardens. This really is an excellent way to spend a couple of hours and I was sorry when we had to hand the Ninebots back at the end of the tour.
