Our boat takes you to the east coast in order to view the sea-beaten pirate caves and admire the breath-taking rock formations and the Camarola arch as we sail by. Continuously,  we will reach Panormo beach you will have 1,5 free time there to swim or stroll around or try fresh fish at the local tavernas. Upon returning you will admire the old Venetian port of Rethymno.

Enjoy the glorious sunset over the Cretan Sea whilst sailing and experience the breathtaking view of the Fortezza castle, the Venetian Port and Rethymno town by night.

Departing from the Marine Port of Rethymno we sail past the historic fortress of the city “Fortezza”. Continuously, we sail past the bay of Gerani before reaching our destination Kefalas bay. Here you will enjoy swimming or snorkeling off the boat for about an hour. On our way back you will admire the caves of Kefalas and old Venetian port of Rethymno.  ⎈ masks and tubes provided  ⎈ meal included (freshly made greek salad with season's local raw vegetables). 

Duration: 1.5 hours (Approx.)

Enjoy a short cruise on and have the opportunity to get into the pirate caves and take magnificent pictures of them and admire the “ C amarola arch”. On the way back we will sail past the Venetian castle “Fortezza” and the old picturesque Venetian port of Rethymno.

Duration: 2.5 hours (Approx.)

Leaving the Marina of Rethymno, we sail West, taking in the view of the Fortezza, the city's historic fortress. Travelling onward we reach the bay of Gerani where we stop for 30 minutes so you can swim or snorkel from the boat (masks and tubes included). On return you can admire the historic Venetian harbour.

Myrtle Beach Dolphin Cruises

Myrtle Beach Dolphin Cruises offers dolphin-sighting excursions on two different boats from the North Myrtle Beach area. The Sea Screamer and Sea Thunder take participants from the Intracoastal Waterway through the jetty to the ocean for a fun-filled dolphin tour.  A narrated cruise up the Intracoastal Waterway begins the 2-hour excursion, and the boat picks up speed as it passes several uninhabited islands and the jetty on the way to the ocean. Visitors will see dolphins on the tour and get a breathtaking view of the coastline. Dolphin sighting is guaranteed, or you can take another tour for free.

Hurricane Fleet

The Hurricane Fleet is the original dolphin cruise company on the Grand Strand operating out of Calabash, N.C., just across the state line near North Myrtle Beach. Tour guests will take a quick ride through the Intracoastal Waterway through the jetties and out into the ocean. When the shrimp boats are out, tours will get a close-up look at their crews in action and the wildlife that follows behind them. Before or after the trip, be sure to explore the fishing village where Hurricane Fleet docks. Calabash is known for fresh, delicious seafood as well as shopping and scenery.

Express Watersports

Express Watersports offers a narrated dolphin watching tour out of Murrells Inlet, just south of Myrtle Beach. Tours may see a variety of aquatic wildlife, including sea turtles, dolphins and more. The large tour boat offers a covered shady area as well as a sun deck, and guides include naturalists and marine science majors from Coastal Carolina University. The crew includes an experienced USCG-licensed captain. The boats include bathrooms and a variety of safety gear, and they are inspected by the Coast Guard.

Action Water Sportz

For a unique vacation experience, hop on a jet ski with Action Watersportz for their Dolphin Watch Trip. The tours begin at Dock Holiday Marina on the Intracoastal Waterway where participants receive hands-on instruction on the safe operation of the jet ski. When everyone in the group feels comfortable, the tour will move through the Intracoastal Waterway passing homes and the historic Little River Swing Bridge before zipping to a nearby barrier island in the ocean. The tour will spend some time searching for shells and exploring the island before heading back into the ocean to look for the Atlantic bottlenose dolphin. The trip lasts about two hours, and you’ll remember it for a lifetime.

Calabash Fishing Fleet

Calabash Fishing Fleet guarantees a dolphin sighting on your tour, or your next tour is free! The dolphin adventure tours leave from the Calabash waterfront next to Dockside Seafood Restaurant and last about two hours. Participants will see views of the beautiful island and the Intracoastal Waterway as they head out to the ocean where they’ll meet up with a working shrimp boat. Dolphin will be waiting for a snack as the shrimpers discard goodies from their nets. The shrimpers will share the contents of their net for the tour to see, a favorite experience for the younger passengers!

Voyager’s Dolphin Cruise takes passengers out to the ocean to watch the Shrimp Boat Fleet work their nets and get a look at all the bounty they find. Past treasures found in the nets include shrimp, crabs, fish, sea urchins, seahorses, sand dollars, shells, sting rays and baby sharks. Group Packages & Private Tours

Group rates are available for schools, church groups, large family reunions and companies.

Cruises are 1½ to 2 hours long. The tour encompasses 3 distinct experiences starting with a narrated cruise up the Intracoastal waterway. Then picking up speed and passing several uninhabited islands as well as the jetty heading out into the ocean. The second part of the tour is heading into the ocean to find and view the dolphins and the third part is picking up speed to view our beautiful coastline.

This is a wet ride so dress accordingly. There is a dry box on board for valuables. We do suggest a bag or case to keep cameras and phones dry so you may take pictures. Sun glasses and sunscreen are also recommended for this tour.

If you want SEATING UNDER THE CANOPY please arrive early because boarding is done by group #.  Group #1 will board first and will include several parties who arrive the earliest.  All passengers must check in and get a boarding pass before boarding. The boat departs promptly at scheduled times so please allow time to park, check-in, etc.

These cruises are not handicap approved by the coastguard.  Tickets are non refundable!

Are The Boats Different?

No, they do the same cruise.  They are both narrated by an experienced crew.  Both boats have a canopy covering about 8 rows of seating. Both hold 141 passengers.

How Long Are The Cruises?

They are 1 ½ – 2 hours long.

Are The Boats At The Same Location?

No, but they are close.  The boats are a couple of blocks away from each other.

Do You Need To Print Anything?

No, when you make a reservation online, your confirmation, instructions & directions will be emailed to you.  Just give your last name when checking-in for your boarding pass.

Are There Bathrooms?

Yes, there are restroom facilities at each location prior to boarding. The restrooms on board are marine toilet facilities and are for emergency use only.

Do You Get Wet?

Yes, it can be a wet ride so dress accordingly. Bathing suits with covers, towels, whatever you are comfortable with.

Do You Cruise In The Rain?

Yes, the cruise operates in light rain.  The Captain may cancel if weather becomes stormy. (Thunder & Lightening)

What Can I Bring?

You may bring food and drink in a  small (6 pack) soft sided cooler.  STROLLERS & CAR SEATS are NOT allowed on board.

Are There Life Jackets?

Yes, under the seats for all passengers. Also CHILDREN’S life jackets are available.

Are The Boats Handicap Accessible?

No, the boats are not handicap accessible.  Wheelchairs & walkers can go as far as the stairs to the boat.  They are not allowed on board for safety reasons.  There are about 4-5 steps (handrails) up to the boat and then a short distance to a seat.  The crew will assist with boarding.  These cruises are not handicap approved by the coastguard.

My trip to Destin Florida was really good. We took sometime to do the dolphin cruise. It was so much fun spotting them. The cruise was very relaxing, and the captain made the trip really fun. Would definately recommend!

We scheduled this as a surprise for my best friend’s birthday. She loves dolphins, so I was really hoping we would actually see some. Jason was really fun and made it interesting. The water was a bit choppy, but that was fun too. We finally found a whole family of dolphins, with a baby and we had so much with them! It was a great time.

Our family of three enjoyed the cruise, Destin is beautiful when your on the boat you get to really see it’s water. We did see a couple dolphins and fed some of the birds. They have refreshments on board if you’d like to drink and captain hats that my son fell in love with. At the end they gave my son a small treasure. It’s a great way to end the evening watching the sunset on the cruise.

This was our 2nd dolphin cruise with Southern Star. Per usual it did not disappoint! The captain was super knowledgeable and told us all about the bay’s history as we toured the bay. He also knew exactly where to find the dolphins and made sure everyone got a good view! It was just fantastic!

This was my family's first dolphin sighting cruise and it did not disappoint. We had a charming captain and he made sure we learned the history of the area as well as saw dolphins, manta rays, all kinds of jelly fish, and sharks! The beautiful waters made it easy to see in and the size of the boat was perfect! Would recommend to anyone.

This was the highlight of our trip!! My 3 year old and I had a blast! The captain was on mission to find us some dolphins, and he found us 12-15 sharks too!! Such an amazing time. So glad we chose this tour!!

What is your cancellation policy.

• Customer Cancellations : Must be requested via calling or emailing no less than 48hrs before trip departure for a full refund. No shows or late arrivals will be charged the full ticket price. 
• Weather Cancellations : If your trip’s departure may be impacted by weather, our captains will reach out via text and email no less than 2hrs before departure with a weather update. Should the trip be canceled, guests are entitled to be refunded, rebooked, or receive a gift card in accordance with the cancellation policy associated with their ticket.

Is there a bathroom on board?

Yes, there is a restroom on board that is cleaned and sanitized daily!

What time should we arrive?

Please plan to arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure for boarding. 

Is there parking available?

Yes! We have designated free parking for all of our customers.

Are we allowed to bring food?

Yes! Guests are more than welcome to bring their own snacks or light fare to bridge the lunch hour.

How do we get off at the beach?

For our island stops, we use a series of steps from the front of our boat to the sand. Typically, you can step right from the boat/steps to the sand. However, on occasion it may be up to ankle deep.

What should we wear?

Guests who wish to swim during their island stop should wear their bathing suits on board as there are no changing facilities at the island. Swimwear is strongly encouraged for all guests as the water is refreshing and crystal clear. Be sure to pack a towel for the ride back!

Is your vessel handicap accessible?

Unfortunately we are not handicap accessible at this time. Guests with limited mobility (i.e. walkers, canes) should call our office prior to booking. A good rule of thumb is if the limited mobility passenger is able to make it up 2-3 standard stairs with assistance. Our crew is always here to help and eager to share our memorable trip with all!

The experience we had at Pier Dolphin Cruises couldn't have been better. The captain and his partner were very knowledgeable , they shared historical information throughout the ride. A TAMPA/ST PETE MUST!!!! From our extremely hospitable and knowledgable crew to the special precautions taken for Covid, this cruise was well worth the comparable price! The cruise was around 2 hours and we came across a few dolphins racing against the boat at the start of our journey, a pod towards the end, and periodic sightings sprinkled throughout. We also saw manatees, stingrays, fish, and the appropriately named bird island. Our captain grew up in the area and told us interesting stories about the surroundings as we got a little tour of the beautiful homes on the water. Our first mate recently graduated after studying marine biology and gave us information about the dolphins, their calves, and answered any questions we had! The boat was COMPLETELY disinfected and they do not pack it to the brim. In fact, my group was alone in the am tour with plenty of space around the boat to walk around. Ultimately, we will be back and totally recommend for others to enjoy this beautiful boating adventure.

Captain Christian is a 4th Generation St. Petersburg Native, and his parents are highly regarded for their 50+ years success in the yachting industry. As early as 8-years-old he began racing sailboats and has competed at the highest levels. While attending Old Dominion University he won a Collegiate National Sailing Championship. Throughout his teen years and early twenties Christian coached sailing and taught thousands of locals how to sail. Returning to the water after a successful career in medical sales Captain Christian is eager to contribute to St Petersburg, getting youth and others on the water. He brings a fresh outlook and energy with the commitment to provide an experience on the water which will be both entertaining and educational.

Captain Fred Debardelaben

Founded Pier Dolphin Cruises in 1992 and while cruising the waters of Tampa Bay he made friends with the pods of dolphins that follow the Dolphin Queen today. With his vast wisdom, Captain Fred will continue to help train new members of our team.

Wesley Obenshain

Embark on a 75-minute pirate adventure departing from the marina near Windward Beach in Brick. Designed for pirates aged 3 to 10, this cruise is enjoyable for the entire family.

The young will get the opportunity to dress up like pirates, get their faces painted and get some pirate tattoos. On the ship, they'll take part in an interactive treasure hunt, following the Sea Gypsy's rules, reading maps, finding a secret message in a bottle, and working together to defeat a rival pirate using water cannons.
