Fallout 76 Fast Travel: How to Fast Travel to Locations, Friends & CAMP

How to Fast Travel in Fallout 76

The world of Bethesda’s   Fallout 76 is pretty damn huge. It can take a seriously long time to get from one side of the map to the other or to reach the next quest marker for the main quests. Here’s how to fast travel in Fallout 76 so you can cut down all that traversal time.

As has always been the case with Fallout games, you can fast travel in Fallout 76 to any location you’ve already discovered. Discovered locations are marked on your map by a filled-in blue icon.

You discover locations by naturally stumbling upon them as you’re exploring the wasteland of West Virginia. When you get close enough, you’ll see text on-screen letting you know that you’ve discovered the place, revealing its name and also awarding you some XP as a bonus.

Once you’ve discovered a location, you can press the Options button on PS4 or the Menu button on Xbox One to bring up the map. From there, simply select the discovered location you want to fast travel to with the left analog stick and then press X on PS4 or A on Xbox One.

You’ll now be given a screen indicating how much it will cost you to fast travel to. That’s right, fast travel in Fallout 76 will cost you Caps, the amount of which is determined by how far away the location is from your current position.

Fallout 76 fast travel, how to fast travel in Fallout 76

For example, if you just want to fast travel to a location it’d take a minute for you to walk to, you might only be paying a two or three Caps.

If you’re trying to fast travel from one side of the map to a discovered location on the other side, however, you’re going to be looking at paying over 30 Caps.

As long as you’ve got the Caps, simply press X or A and you’ll be taken to a loading screen before appearing at the discovered location you selected.

One thing to keep in mind, however, is that you are unable to fast travel if:

  • You are overencumbered (carrying more than your carry weight value).
  • Do not have the Caps to travel to that discovered location.
  • There are enemies nearby.

While lacking the Caps to get around the map quickly this way can seriously suck, there are some other ways to be able to magically teleport your way to other locales on the map for free.

How to Fast Travel for Free in Fallout 76

Just because you don’t have the Caps, doesn’t mean you’re completely stranded in the middle of nowhere on Fallout 76’s map. It’s possible to fast travel for free, as long as you meet one of the following requirements.

  • You have a CAMP set up.
  • You’re playing in a team with other players.
  • You want to return to Vault 76.

If you have a CAMP set up, simply open up your map, select the yellow tent icon on your map indicating your CAMP’s location, and press X or A on it. Follow the same process as you would to travel to a discovered location, but this time you won’t have to pay at all.

Fast travel to your CAMP is always free in Fallout 76, so is always great for getting out of high-level areas you’ve accidentally stumbled into in a hurry.

Fallout 76 fast travel, how to fast travel in Fallout 76

Alternatively, if you’re playing with friends , you can simply open up your map and seek out the little yellow dot that indicates their location on the map. You can then, select them and also fast travel to them for free.

It’s worth keeping in mind, however, that if your friend or teammate continues to move around Fallout 76’s map towards their quest marker, you won’t be transported to that location. It’ll be way back wherever they were when you chose to fast travel to them.

How to fast travel in Fallout 76

Instead of spending days walking across the map in Fallout 76, use the fast travel system.

Sam Chandler

Fallout 76 offers a large area for players to explore, purportedly four times the size of the Fallout 4 map, and getting around this wasteland can take time. Luckily for players, there is a way to fast travel around Appalachia, making the trek across West Virginia much more manageable.

How to fast travel

The fast travel system in Fallout 76 is incredibly simple: open the map and select a location you have discovered . Each fast travel will cost a handful of caps, so early in the game it can be a better idea to use your feet and walk wherever you need to go. Though there will likely be situations where fast travelling is a more attractive option, just make sure you’ve earned enough bottle caps to do so.

fast travel fallout 76

Not all fast travels cost caps though, as players can travel a co-op friend , their own C.A.M.P. or even their ally’s C.A.M.P. for free. Players should make good use of this system and set up one C.A.M.P. as a home base near a useful location (a vendor to sell goods) and then set out on an adventure. If a player needs to sell goods or return home to offload anything, they can fast travel back, drop their goods, and then rejoin their teammate in a matter of minutes.

As mentioned above, the one caveat to the fast travel system is that players can only fast travel to a location they have discovered. Players will need to make sure they fully enter the undiscovered area and the pop-up appears on-screen, else the location will not count as being discovered and then cannot be used as a fast travel point.

Hello, Meet Lola

Fallout 76: How to Fast Travel

We show you how to fast travel to different locations quickly and easily.

The huge world of Fallout 76 presents a dangerous land full of enemies. While exploration is a big part of it, there are time where you'll want to know how to fast travel between locations . We'll show you how to do that in our handy guide here.

How much does fast travel cost in fallout 76.

Fast Travel in Fallout 76 is limited to areas you've already discovered and been to in-game. To do so, open the map screen, pan over to whatever icon you want to travel to, then select it. The option to fast travel will open up, whereupon you simply pay the fee. The game will then teleport you there, usually depositing you just outside or on the borders of that location.

fast travel fallout 76

Unlike in previous games, Fallout 76 bills the player a certain amount of caps each time they fast travel. This cost varies depending on distance - jump a hundred feet to the next location over and it'll cost you a single cap, but jumping across the map could cost 50 caps or more. The exceptions to these rules are Vault 76 itself, your own C.A.M.P. if you've put one down, and the C.A.M.P.s of any friends or Teammates in the game: all of these can be travelled to for free, no matter how far away you are.

How to use Fast Travel in Fallout 76

Learn to Fast Travel from location to location in Fallout 76.

MediEvil remake announced for PS4

Continuing to resurrect your childhood favorites.

In Fallout 76, like other Fallout games before it, you have the ability to Fast Travel from location to location. While Fast Travel works in a similar manner to games like Fallout 4, there are a few notable differences to keep in mind when using Fast Travel in Fallout 76.

For example, you actually need to pay Caps to use Fast Travel in Fallout 76. As others have noted, this is likely because of the multiplayer aspect to Fallout 76. Struggling to master the art of Fast Travel in Fallout 76? We’ve got you covered!

Below, we’ve put together a quick guide on how to use Fast Travel in Fallout 76!

How to Use Fast Travel in Fallout 76

fast travel fallout 76

In Fallout 76, you have the ability to use Fast Travel once you’ve played discovered various locations. Note that you cannot Fast Travel to a point unless you’ve already discovered it. To Fast Travel in Fallout 76, you’ll first need to open up your map. On the map, you can view different locations in Fallout 76.

Study the map and select the location you wish to Fast Travel to. If you’ve already discovered this location, you’ll be given a prompt to confirm and spend Caps in order to Fast Travel. If you haven’t discovered the location, you’ll be notified that you need to first discover the location before you can Fast Travel to it. Low on Caps? You can Fast Travel for free when heading to a C.A.M.P. you or an ally own.

This can be a useful strategy when it comes to saving Caps in Fallout 76. To utilize free Fast Travels to a C.A.M.P. you’ll want to set your C.A.M.P. up by key locations such as near vendors, safe points, and so on. In doing so, you’ll save yourself Caps which can be better spent on items and gear. By keeping these things in mind, you’ll become a Fast Travel master in Fallout 76 in no time!

Where did you set up C.A.M.P. in Fallout 76? Do you Fast Travel to it often, or are you more into exploring the West Virginia scenery in Fallout 76? Let us know down in the comments below! For more on Fallout 76, be sure to check out some of our previous guides including the complete B.E.T.A. schedule for Fallout 76 , how to unlock PVP in Fallout 76 , and where to find Bobby Pins in Fallout 76 .

How to fast travel in Fallout 76

Lewis Painter

Following a lengthy beta period and a hefty day-one patch, Fallout 76 is now available to play on PS4 , Xbox One and PC . The online multiplayer game gives you the opportunity to explore the post-apocalyptic world of Appalachia with your buddies, scavenging and crafting your way to greatness.

But with such a huge map, there has to be a way to travel around quickly, right? Thankfully, there is. Here’s how you can fast travel in Fallout 76.

The good news is that the fast travel system implemented in Fallout 76 is incredibly simple – the issue is that it isn’t highlighted when you begin playing (if it was, we completely missed it!).  There is a catch though; like fast travelling in Red Dead Redemption 2 , there’s a monetary cost that comes with fast travelling.

To fast travel in Fallout 76, simply open the map and select any location you’ve already visited. Despite not offering a ‘fast travel’ button like other games, selecting any previously-visited location should provide you with the option to fast travel there.

As mentioned, it’ll cost a handful of caps with the specific price dependent on how far you’re travelling, so it’ll probably be a good idea to use it sparingly – at least while you’re finding your feet in Appalachia.

It’s not a general rule though. While you have to pay to fast travel to most locations in Fallout 76, there are a handful of places that you can fast travel to, completely free of charge. The first is, rather unsurprisingly, your C.A.M.P. You can set this up anywhere in West Virginia, go out on a scavenging hunt travelling far and wide and quickly return once you’re over-encumbered.

While you can place your C.A.M.P. anywhere, we’d recommend finding a spot near a vendor, allowing you to fast travel and re-stock on ammo and vital provisions that’ll help you survive the post-apocalyptic world completely free of charge.

As well as your C.A.M.P., you can also fast travel to your co-op friends and their respective C.A.M.P.s too. It’s certainly a handy feature, especially when you consider just how large the open-world map is.

It provides the ability to leave your co-op buddy, fast travel home, drop off your scavenged materials and fast travel back to them within minutes without spending any caps, and we think it’s a system that Fallout 76 players will utilise as more gamers become aware of it.

24 essential Fallout 76 tips to know before you play

These Fallout 76 tips will keep you alive and less radioactive than usual in the West Virginia Wasteland

Fallout 76 tips

If Wastelanders has tempted you back or brought you in then some Fallout 76 tips might be in order to bring you up to speed. There's a lot to take in when you first start Fallout 76 and the MMO shape of things means things can operate a little differently to both more traditional games, and Fallout itself.

With that in mind these Fallout 76 tips will help gain XP and caps, complete missions avoid starving or dying of thirst, pick the best perks and... well, yes, we said there was a lot to take in. Read on now for a guiding hand in the wilderness.

1. Remember to stay well fed and well hydrated

fast travel fallout 76

One of the biggest new features in Fallout 76 is its Thirst and Hunger meters. Don’t read that and panic - this isn’t hardcore survival: staying well-fed and well-hydrated simply improves you Action Point regeneration and your disease resistance, so don’t ignore the meters. If you make the ill-informed decision to neglect them you’ll find yourself more susceptible to disease as well as lacking in AP. Not good. As long as you have some Boiled Water or Crispy Squirrel Bits on hand you just need to make sure you eat them every real-time hour or so. Hover over items in the Aid section of your inventory and you’ll be able to see the percentage of Thirst or Hunger they refills, so as long as you choose what to eat carefully you won’t waste a Salisbury Steak on refilling 10% of your Hunger meter.

2. Not all food gives you HP, and your food can spoil now

fast travel fallout 76

Yeah, you read that right. Food that’s harvested from mutated animals very rarely restores your HP, but they will restore your Hunger meter. A good rule of thumb is that things that have been boiled, canned, cooked, or are Pre-War will heal you, as well as the obvious Stimpacks or Healing Salve. Meat also spoils now, and you can tell how close it is to becoming gross (and very likely to disease you) by looking at its CND (condition) in your inventory. The lower the bar, the sooner it’ll be before it’s a pile of stinky icky muck.

3. Wasteland food has a chance to carry a disease

fast travel fallout 76

When you harvest meat from a Brahmin, Opossum, Molerat, or Mongrel Dog, if you look at it in your inventory you’ll see that the hunk of flesh has a Disease Chance percentage. So, if you eat it without cooking it first, just like in real life you then have a chance of contracting a disease. The older the meat, the more likely it is to infect you with something horrible, and that goes double for spoiled meat. To cure yourself you’ll need to find or craft a Disease Cure. So if you’re in the habit of gorging yourself on whatever’s in your inventory you’ll want to keep a few bottles handy.

4. You get Atoms by completing challenges

fast travel fallout 76

When you begin Fallout 76 you can complete challenges by doing the smallest things: from collecting wood, to harvesting a plant, to killing your first robot, each small action completes a challenge and gives you some Atoms and a nice little fanfare. These Atoms are used for the Fallout 76 microtransactions that buy various cosmetic items. While it’s not clear how they translate into real money just yet, if you spend enough time completing challenges you’ll find yourself rolling in Atoms in no time.

5. Loot EVERYTHING

fast travel fallout 76

Seriously. You’ll need resources for crafting armour, weapons, chems, and mods (as well as  building) so your Junk quickly becomes worth its weight in gold. You might be accustomed to ignoring Hairbrushes, Toy Trucks, Gold-Plated Lighters, or Ball-Peen Hammers when you find them in anything from a Feral Ghoul’s pocket to a chest of drawers, but out of all these Fallout 76 tips the one you should take to heart is pick up everything . Later on you can break them down to use for weapons, or cannibalise them for building materials to bulk out your home base, but if there’s one thing I can guarantee it’s that you won’t regret having an inventory full of Junk.

6. You get items as rewards for completing quests and public events

fast travel fallout 76

Gone are the days of just getting XP as a reward for completing quests: in Fallout 76 you get a bunch of items to congratulate you on a job well done. They can be a mix of ammo, Aid, Plans (recipes which let you craft new items), Caps, and Resources, so if you needed even more of an incentive to complete quests or join Public Events you’ve got it.

7. For God's sake uncheck any missions you aren't doing

fast travel fallout 76

You can encounter missions almost anywhere in Fallout 76, from finding holo tapes, notes or even just places in the world. When you do it's added as an active mission to your log. That's useful in terms of not missing anything, but means you can end up losing the entire right hand side of the screen. Plus it'll litter your radar with objective markers making it almost impossible to find anything. So make sure you dip into the Data tab of your Pip-Boy to uncheck anything you're not actively perusing. That way you can focus on one thing at a time and prevent yourself drowning in things to do.

8. Jumping uses AP

fast travel fallout 76

Bear this in mind when you’re leaping your way up a cliff face and encounter a pack of Feral Ghouls at the top and then can’t access your V.A.T.S. so you jump back down the cliff and lose a chunk of your health (definitely not based on a real-life experience of mine. Nope. Definitely not).

9. Rest in bed to heal HP

fast travel fallout 76

You can’t skip large swathes of time like in previous Fallout games, but one of the best Fallout 76 tips is to actually spend time sleeping . You quickly regenerate HP (takes about 10 seconds to restore it to max if you’re basically almost dead), and if you stay in bed for roughly 30 seconds you get the Rested perk. Being Rested gets you a beneficial status effect… but be careful: sleeping bags on the ground can carry Disease, which - yup, you guessed it - will infect you.

10. Fast travel costs caps, although you can fast travel to friends, Vault 76 and your C.A.M.P. for free

fast travel fallout 76

Like Elder Scrolls Online, you have to pay to Fast Travel in Fallout 76. The cost will increase depending on how far away you are from your chosen destination, and you can travel to major areas without having discovered them first as long as there’s a public event nearby. In our experience so far it can cost anything from 1 caps to 24 caps to get to your location of choice, so early on in Fallout 76 when caps are semi-rare it’s worth planning your route across the wasteland to be as efficient and thrifty as possible. However, if you have friends on the map you can travel to them for free. Your C.A.M.P., and Vault 76 are also free to jump to.

11. What’s the best starting perks?

fast travel fallout 76

Fallout 76 uses perk cards to flesh out your character’s S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes. There’s a few options in the opening hours and what’s best will likely depend on your playstyle and if you’re alone or with friends. The Gladiator perk’s a good shout either way as it boosts one-handed melee weapon damage and you’ll likely be using those lot. While Concentrated Fire will open up limb targeting in V.A.T.S. if you want to shoot more. If you’re alone then Lone Wanderer is a must, as it means you take 10% less damage and gain 10% AP regen. If you’re playing with friends then Inspirational’s 5% team XP boost is great, as is Bodyguards which boosts damage & energy resist, stacking with the number of people on your team.

12. Don’t worry too much about exploring at the beginning

fast travel fallout 76

Although it’s tempting to jump straight into the gaping maw of Appalachia as soon as you step through Vault 76’s door, don’t worry about exploring everywhere in sight instantly as you’ll see most of the opening areas in the early missions. However, once you leave the Vault head right (instead of left down the path) to get a gun straight away, and if you find the Wixon Homestead - which is on your way to Flatwoods, your first main quest destination - kill any Scorched you find there for a chance to loot some armor off of their cold, dead, irradiated bodies.

13. You don't have to build a C.A.M.P. straight away

fast travel fallout 76

One of the first things you pick up before you leave Vault 76 is your C.A.M.P., but you really shouldn’t try to build the home base of your dreams straight away as it costs a metric ton of resources to do so. Instead, in the early stages of the main quest you’ll come across the Overseer’s C.A.M.P., which has a weapons and armor workbench, stove, and Stash. It’s best to rely on that C.A.M.P. for the first handful of hours while you bulk out your resources and prepare for building your own base. When you do, make sure to take a look at our Fallout 76 CAMP tips to build your perfect dream home/impenetrable fortress.

14. Playing instruments gives you an AP regeneration boost

fast travel fallout 76

When you’re making your way down the path to Flatwoods, look to your left and you’ll come across a treehouse filled with instruments. Play one of them for a while and you’ll get a boost to your AP regeneration rate that lasts a whole hour. Perfect for when you’re preparing to take on a horde of Scorched and need to use V.A.T.S. more. It’s a status effect that’s well worth seeking out if you’re about to get in some serious S.H.I.T. (Super High Intensity Trouble), or just want to sprint absolutely everywhere.

15. VATS is good for finding nearby enemies

fast travel fallout 76

Unlike other Fallout games, V.A.T.S. doesn’t slow down time because, you know, Fallout 76 is an online game. It will still target enemies and hit them according to stats though, and the Concentrated Fire Perception perk card will let you target limbs but all in real time - don’t expect it to get you out of trouble by freezing time and giving you a breather. But that doesn’t mean the mode is completely useless. Instead I recommend using V.A.T.S. to find enemies lurking nearby when you’re sneaking around, or hidden in cover, as when it gets dark it’s especially hard to spot the things that want to turn you into a bloody red splat on the ground. Especially Feral Ghouls. God, I hate Feral Ghouls.

16. Bobby pins are super rare

fast travel fallout 76

Like Wonderglue in Fallout 4, Bobby Pins are rare as heck in Fallout 76. You can buy seven from the Volunteer Bot in Flatwoods early on, but otherwise you’re going to have a hard time finding them around the Wasteland. So be extra careful when picking any nearby locks as Bobby Pins are worth their weight in gold.

17. You can leave holotapes playing and get on with stuff

fast travel fallout 76

Don’t worry about staying stuck in the same place while you’re waiting for someone’s tape to finish playing - in Fallout 76 you can have the voices of the dead (not as morbid as it sounds, promise) playing in the background while you explore or shoot your way across the Wasteland. In an online game time waits for no ex-Vault Dweller, so don’t bother dragging your heels when listening to holotapes.

18. Don't be afraid to work with strangers

fast travel fallout 76

With only 24 people per server, and a map that’s about 16 square miles big, it might take you a while to bump into another player. But when you do - especially if there’s a very large, very angry Grafton Monster or Scorchbeast nearby - try teaming up with them. Seeing if they reciprocate a friendly heart or thumbs up emote is a great way to figure out whether they’re more into teamwork than PvP, and then you can invite them to your team from the Social menu in the Fallout 76 map. Exploring with a buddy can give you the push you need to explore a Digger-infested mine or even take on a nuke silo, so don’t run in the other direction when you see a fellow Vault Dweller.

19. Hacking and lockpicking perk cards are rare, so take them as soon as you can

fast travel fallout 76

Hacking and lockpicking are two of the simple joys of Fallout games (come on, the sound of a lock unlocking is practically a natural high), but like in Fallout 4 you won’t be able to even attempt to unlock certain safes, doors, or terminals unless you have the right perk. So far we’ve spotted three levels of lockpicking and hacking, with everyone starting out at level 0. During the beta right I got up to level 13 and only came across one lockpicking and hacking perk card. So if you see one, grab it quick - chances are you won’t come across another one for a while.

20. Always have wood scraps on hand so you can cook meat before it spoils

fast travel fallout 76

Meat and vegetables spoil in Fallout 76, so when you rip a Brahmin steak from its still-warm corpse, you’ll want to cook it sharpish. All you’ll need to cook it at a cooking station is some wood scraps, which you can get from fallen logs or log piles scattered across the world. Cooking meat will reduce any chance of contracting a disease from it and increase the HP you’ll get from shoving it in your face hole, so it’s definitely worth doing.

21. Stock up on aluminium and copper so you can repair your weapons

fast travel fallout 76

Your guns will break in Fallout 76. That’s just a fact, and if you’re especially unlucky your favorite pea-shooter will shatter in the middle of a very tense fight. To fix them, you’ll need to have aluminium or copper on hand depending on which gun you’re fixing, as well as some steel and adhesive. Both copper and aluminium can be hard to come by in the wild, so if you see any aluminum cans or bone cutters around make sure to snap them up and store them in your Stash.

22. Use VATS when you're overwhelmed to take down enemies quickly

fast travel fallout 76

VATS doesn’t slow down time anymore, but don’t let that stop you from using it. Instead in Fallout 76 VATS is a great way to quickly fire at enemies, as you get shown the percentage chance to hit your foe in real time. What that means is that you don’t have to bother aiming perfectly, instead hitting that trigger as soon as the percentage climbs high enough. Very handy in a pinch when you have three super mutants chasing you and your brain is wailing like a newborn.

23. Do public events for some extra bonus rewards and the chance to make new buddies

fast travel fallout 76

Public events will pop up regularly in Appalachia, and they’re not only a great chance to earn a handful of caps and some loot - they’ll also hook you up with some like-minded players if you’re feeling lonely, or bored, or both. Chances are that if you play through a Public Event with a stranger, they’ll be amenable for teaming up and adventuring together. Now doesn’t that just warm your heart? There’s a great variety too: you might be defending some water pipes from beasts, watching a daily parade, or killing some haywire farming robots.

24. Caps are rare, so spend them wisely

fast travel fallout 76

This Fallout 76 tip is exactly what it says in the title: caps will not be raining down on you like nuclear fallout. The metal currency is pretty rare, with super mutants only having about 3 caps each on them (when they have caps at all), and the same goes for containers strewn about the wasteland. So instead of scavenging for caps, we encourage you to complete quests and public events, which often give you 30 - 90 caps a pop. Then you’ll be able to spend freely when you find a vendor bot or a fellow Vault Dweller who wants to figure out how to trade in Fallout 76 .

Fallout 76 – How to Fast Travel

Image of Larryn Bell

There is a lot of land to cover in Fallout 76. After a bit of exploration, you may want to start using fast travel to save time while traversing from one place to another. While some players prefer to trek everywhere on foot, fast travel is an easy way to move between locations. This guide will explain how to fast travel in Fallout 76 so that you can travel to your destination quickly and efficiently.

How to Fast Travel in Fallout 76

In Fallout 76, fast travel only becomes available for locations that you have previously discovered. While you can’t fast travel to a place you’ve never visited before, you can return to points of interest that you have already opened on your map. Make sure to fully explore each new location so that they become viable fast travel points on your map. To fast travel, open your world map and hover over the location you’d like to travel to. Select the Fast Travel button to head to your destination.

Although fast travel itself is a simple process, it does come at a small fee. Fast travel in Fallout 76 typically requires Bottle Caps, which act as the in-game currency. The amount of Bottle Caps you’ll have to spend depends on where you want to go. Bottle Caps can be hard to come by early on in the game, so before you decide to fast travel in Fallout 76, consider whether it’s worth the price in Bottle Caps or if you’re better off traveling on foot.

Fallout 76 How to Fast Travel to Friend

While most fast travel comes at a price, there are some locations that you can travel to for free, such as Vault 76 and your personal C.A.M.P. You can also travel directly to a friend’s location on the map or to a teammate’s C.A.M.P. without having to fork over any hard-earned caps. Make sure you know how to team up and play co-op with friends so that you can easily travel to one another during your play session.

This gives you and your co-op companions some flexibility when it comes to where you decide to setup C.A.M.P. Pick somewhere with a vendor or other point of interest nearby so that you can easily travel back and forth to sell items or unload goods without having to spend Bottle Caps each time.

Now that you know how to fast travel in Fallout 76, you should have little trouble navigating the wastelands of Appalachia. Browse through our other Fallout 76 guides for more gameplay tips and tutorials.

Fallout 76: The 15 Best Mutations In The Game, Ranked

Fallout 76: how to place survival tent, fallout 76 testing useful quality-of-life improvement.

The Cremator is a heavy weapon that's somewhere between a Flamer and an Auto Grenade Launcher. It's one of the more unique weapon options in Fallout 76 , and players will want to get their hands on it if they're a fan of big explosions.

This flame-spitting cannon quickly became one of the best weapons in Fallout 76 . Its capacity for destruction is nearly unmatched, especially once you get one with solid legendary effects. Here's how to get this weapon.

From Speed Demon to Twisted Muscles, here are some of the best mutations you can hope to find in Fallout 76.

How To Get The Cremator in Fallout 76

The Cremator is a craft-only weapon, and you can get the plans for it only by reaching Rank 22 in Fallout 76's Season 16 Scoreboard . Thankfully, it's free for everyone — you don't need a Fallout 1st subscription in order to get it. Once Season 16 ends, the Cremator will no longer be obtainable unless it reappears in the Atom Shop or is added back into the game some other way.

Once you've claimed the Cremator plans, it'll become available for crafting at any Weapons Workbench, assuming you have at least one rank of the Science Expert perk equipped. The full list of materials needed to craft a Level 50 Cremator is as follows:

  • Adhesive x13
  • Asbestos x17

These materials are commonly used in the crafting and maintenance of other weapons. Looking for Screws in Fallout 76 can be particularly problematic since almost every gun needs them — if you need some, your best bet is to scrap Desk Fans and Typewriters, which you can find in office areas. Sugar Grove is a good place to start. If Asbestos is what you need, then try farming some Snallygasters in the Flooded Trainyard in Watoga.

Learn how to set up the Fallout 76 Survival Tent with easy steps and create a free fast-travel location anywhere on the map.

The Cremator lobs balls of fire that explode on contact, dealing immediate Fire damage to everything in its blast radius. Targets struck by the blast will also suffer from a Burn DoT effect. The weapon can be further improved by equipping mods. You can unlock Cremator mod plans by progressing further into the Scoreboard. Each shot costs 10 Fuel, making it very expensive to use for extended durations.

Bloodied builds work extremely well with the Cremator since the damage boost it provides also affects the Burn DoT. If you're going down this route, we highly recommend bringing one of Fallout 76's many suits of Power Armor so you don't get instantly killed while at low health. Other good legendary effects for this weapon are Anti-Armor for stronger impact damage, and +Damage while Aiming, as this also affects Burn damage.

What Does Reuben's Key Unlock In Fallout 76

Quick links, where is mr. gill's safe, where is mr. gill's (reuben's) safe key, what rewards are inside mr. gill's safe.

While exploring all the content in Fallout 76 's Steel Dawn update, you may have noticed a few things out of place in your quest log. Yes, there's a quest to find a key, and it's tied to the otherwise very simple Home Expansion quest. This will allow you to open a certain safe and reap the rewards.

Fallout 76: Guide To Radstag Locations

If you don't know how to find the key, then you're in luck, as that is exactly what this guide breaks down for you. And if you haven't already, make sure to start that Brotherhood of Steel questline .

Updated May 3, 2024, by Andrew Scariati: While the release of Steel Reign is well behind us, the boom in Fallout 76's popularity has us all revisiting the events surrounding Reuben Gill as we search for what the key unlocks. We've included additional images and information about Reuben Gill's key, Mr. Clark, and Mr. Gill's Safe.

If you haven't found it already, Mr. Gill's Safe is located inside the Shelters Claim Center.

You can enter the Shelters Claim Center via a hatch in the ground near the entrance to Vault 51.

Enter the hatch, and you can easily find and complete the Home Expansion quest by talking to the people inside, but you may also see a suspicious safe.

Pay attention to a Mr. Handy robot called Mr. Clark in the Claims Center.

Mr. Clark is part of Home Expansion but you'll soon discover he also played a role in Reuben Gill's re-entry into Vault 51.

This safe is located on the left side of the main room in the Shelters Claim Center, just next to a trophy and a sleeping bag.

You will need to find a special key to open it , which is very far away from here, but you can cut the trip short with some well-placed fast traveling.

It's recommended to get the fast-travel points for Vault 51 and the Isolated Cabin , otherwise, it's going to be a long walk.

You will be able to find Reuben's Safe Key , the very key we need, in an Isolated Cabin , far to the south of the Shelters Claim Center .

The easiest way to get Fallout 76's Isolated Cabin key is by starting from Vault 76.

Head to the southeast, and you'll run into the cabin before you reach the river.

Once you find the cabin, you can loot a few boxes inside, and you'll also find a Vault 51 Overseer , dead on the floor.

Search through his belongings and, what do you know, we've found Reuben's Safe Key – in addition to some Shelter-Building Supplies, which is a nice bonus.

Now, all we need to do is head back to the Shelters Claim Center and open up that safe.

While there aren't any must-have weapons in Mr. Gill's Safe, you'll find several items of varying importance; hopefully, they make the trip worthwhile for you.

The safe contains the following:

  • Bobby Pin x3
  • Stimpak: Diluted
  • Combat Knife

Not the most exciting list, but with the Passwords document you will now be able to access the relevant terminal and find out even more of what the locals have to hide.
